Some Steve and his little nuggets HCs:
Erica will absolutely rip anyone to shreds if they're making fun of Steve. Only she can call make fun of him (and Max). Especially when Steve takes her down to the comic book shop to get a new figure for Lady Applejack to replace her missing one (because Erica won't admit it but she worked on that stupid thing for days and Steve can see she's a little broken up about it).
Max thinks Steve taking her to the skate park is stupid and embarrassing, especially when he asks her to teach him "how to do that board flip thing". (Steve sprains his wrist and comes back with a few bruises but Max smiling when he finally got the board to flip is worth a bruised ego).
Lucas knows the party doesn't care about basketball, but Steve does. Steve who keeps a copy of the team's home game schedule tape up behind the Family Video counter and behind the sun visor of his car. Because unlike his own parents, he's not missing a game (and if he pokes/burns himself iron on Lucas' patches as he earns them it's fine).
Dustin's got an attitude sure, but while he's arguing with the little twerp to his face, he's really bragging about the kid to whatever poor Mom wanders in to Family Video with her own kids on the day he gets some award Steve's never ever heard of. Steve doesn't bother to correct anyone who just assumes Steve has a little brother he's proud of.
bonus:
Eddie doesn't get what Steve gets out of taking care of all the kids, until he wanders in to the video store while Steve's on his lunch break, and catches him listening to the kids arguing over something via the walkies. Steve's got this stupidly fond look on his face, and Eddie thinks he gets it now. That Steve "The Hair" Harrington doesn't just put up with these kids. He loves these kids, as if they were his own. And if that stupidly fond look is aimed at Eddie a second later, with the other half of his sandwich held up in offering, then who is he to tease Steve about it.

Swiss + Phantom, Swiss underneath phantom, fucking him while phantom's bent over backwards (like that one pic), his back to swiss' chest. His legs hurt from being in the position for so long but fuck is it good
Doesn't matter how flexible he is after awhile; the stretch of his thighs, the tension he carries in his entire body is a lot. He's a guitar string tuned to high. Desperate to snap. He feels the hair on Swiss's chest against his back, Swiss's hot and insistent breath against his neck and hair when he gets particularly close. Loving hands holding terribly hard. Swiss finishes like that and stays inside while Aeon jerks himself and finishes on his own belly.

Not letting go of this Steve calls Eddie Teddy thing so easily because I can also connect it to my “they met at summer camp as kids” and it would make kinda perfect excuse why they never connected the dots that they met each other.
First thing being that they were really young, like 8-9 years olds or so. Never really forgot each other but the memories are kinda hazy on some things. Like you cannot remember exactly what the other looked like so it’d be hard to recognize each other after both have grown up.
The second thing being that they never really learned each others names. And how is that possible? Well they were kids. And because Steve heard Eddie’s mom call him Teddy so he started calling him that as well. Eddie told him that’s not his real name but for some unexplainable kid reason refuses to tell Steve his actual name. And he also gives Steve a nickname before he can even introduce himself. So to each other they’re Teddy and whatever (possibly weird) nickname Steve got. Like he was wearing a Looney Tunes shirt and now Eddie calls him ‘Bugs’ or ‘Bunny’. Or he had a dog on his shirt so now he is ‘Lassie’. Or idk whatever kids’ things they had in the 70s.
And it’s summer time now after all that Vecna shit and the kids for some reason talk about summer camps. Maybe Dustin is telling about the camp he met Suzie at or something. And because of Eddie also starts to reminisce this one summer camp he went as a kid. The one and only he is ever been to and he tells the group about that camp and it doesn’t take that long for someone to notice the way Steve is staring at Eddie, like he is not believing what he’s hearing. And they start to question it like “Hello, Steve? Is something wrong?” and even Eddie is, although smiling, asking “you okay there Stevie?” Steve stares for a little while longer until he practically whispers with wavering voice “Teddy?”
And now Eddie freezes too, the smile dropping as the two are now staring at each other. Because there has only been two people who have called Eddie ‘Teddy’ and that’s his mother and the kid from summer camp. Eddie would call out to Steve with the nickname he was given at the camp(you know, the one we didn’t decide yet).
The kids are confused because why are these two now just staring like they’re seeing each other for the first time and wait who the hell is Teddy? And. Yeah.. This is as far I'm able to write it.

MALCOLM: I have always wanted to be an armoury officer.
TRIP: Really?
MALCOLM: Yes, ever since I was six.
TRIP: Oh, and before that?
MALCOLM: I wanted to be a phase cannon.

Where oh where is the Shortland Street femslash?
I'm still sad that there's essentially no Shortland Street femslash fic. There were a smattering of Nicole/Harper stories back in the day, mostly on the pit of voles (fanfiction.net).
Tumblr media
There's a tiny set of Nicole/Maeve stories on AO3 now, and an even tinier bit of Leanne/Rosalyn. There's no Samira/Francesca, even though I know there are other people like me that loved them and were so sad when that storyline went south so fast. There was so much scope for writing fic for them. This is the heartbreak of tiny fandoms.
Tumblr media
I want to read Samira and Francesca's conversation at the wedding reception. I want extensions of all the episodes to give them more time together. I want Francesca taking Samira on a jetboat ride while they're at the conference because Samira has never been to Queenstown before. And oh boy do I want fixit fic: Francesca doesn't leave, Samira goes after her, they meet again in several years time. Francesca has taken that job at Central and they're quietly continuing their relationship during Samira's later episodes but Samira has had enough of the gossip wheel so she's not telling anyone. Any fixit will do.
Samira and Francesca both start working at Seattle Grace at around the same time but their paths don't cross straight away. To confuse things people keep referring to "the new surgeon from New Zealand" without realising there are two of them.
Tumblr media
And then this year, where was the Rebekah/Maeve fic? That was so sweetly done for such a fucked up relationship.
Give me Rebekah and Maeve on the run together fic. Unhealthy Maeve trying to be everything for Rebekah fic. Future fic where they live somewhere very quiet far from everything.
Give me your headcanons where Rebekah didn't have Scott kill Wilder, she really has been trying to do her best and it's just all gone wrong along the way.
Give me redemption fic - Rebekah admits it, does her time and finds Maeve in the end.
Give me a crazy prison AU - Rebekah goes to prison for Scott's murder, but the nature of hearsay, proof and what can and can't be included in evidence means Maeve still gets convicted for Wilder's. And they end up in prison together. Maximum angst.
Tumblr media
And where is the longform Nicole/Maeve fic trying to make Watsonian sense of their crazy Doylist on again off again relationship and sudden character changes? Where is the fluff fic that ignores it all? Where is my everyone is gay fic that pulls in every possible Shortie character? Where is my future fic that ignores Wilder's death and has all three of Nicole's stepsons working at the hospital, while Pele is a trouble making teenager? Where are the AUS?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And my younger self would love fic about Meredith and Annie, or Caroline and Laura.
Tumblr media
Tell me what fic you wish for in the comments. Share your headcanons! Or please write some!!!

hey you said something about north getting married after becoming a spirit
who did he get married to
yes! That headcanon is a reference to this:
Tumblr media
specifically the little text of ‘I got married on may nineteenth, four thousand miles from here.’
I’m not really sure what the rotg team meant by that when they put that there, maybe a reference to Ms. Claus? We don’t ever see a wedding ring that North wears, which makes it interesting.
But, my personal headcanon was that he was married, shortly before he became a spirit. Who he got married to depends on if I want angst or not. Becoming an immortal means leaving behind your love but I am WEAK for the eggnog paring.
So, either a Ms. (Or Mr, we don't know) Claus or Bunny.

Throwing some ideas out there before I forget to be picked back up when I'm less insanely busy with work... The merging of two head canons about some of the crew freakishly de-aging into toddlers. I am now totally obsessed with the idea of Una's boys (Chris + Spock) and Chris' girls (Una + La'an) (thanks @emonydeborah)
_____
La'an is turned into a three year old in a freak accident and Una and Chris become her primary caretakers.
Then....It's been months and Spock, Pelia and the science division are working tirelessly to try and fix the situation and turn La'an big again. In which time Una and Chris are growing closer whilst learning to parent a toddler who happens to be their co-worker. Lots of very cute and adorable moments occur between Una, Chris and La'an. Chris is very protective of his girls.
Spock comms that he might have a lead, Chris gets excited and goes down to see what Spock is up to. Una is on the bridge, busy, and can't get there until Chris comms her saying "Uh we might have a problem". Una rushes to them to find a lot of blue smoke and when it clears Chris is standing there with a baby Vulcan in his arms...
"Not again!"
Chris just shrugs his shoulders and gives her a look to say "Well we already have one kid, what's one more"
Una just rolls her eyes. "Come on boys, let's go home."
Adjusting to ~three year old La'an was tough, but to have a 1 year old Spock is certainly a new experience, full of a lot of bodily fluids neither of them were quite prepared for.
La'an is not happy when she gets home from being babysat by Uhura to find a baby in Chris' quarters. She's very grumpy that Una and Chris' attention is on Spock and she definitely tries to pinch him when they're not looking.
Chris gives her lots of cuddles and extra stories that night to try and compensate for the unexpected arrival of Baby!Spock.
Later on, Uhura replicates a book her parents read to her when she was a kid when her baby brother was born, about getting a new sibling. La'an tears out the pages and cries.
La'an still ends up extra clingy to Una and throws a tantrum every time Una tries to hold Baby!Spock.
Chris and Una are exhausted looking after Baby!Spock and Little La'an whilst also trying to take care of their crew. Una has to pull extra hours in Science with Spock now incapacitated and Chris carries baby Spock in a carrier everywhere he goes. (thanks @m0rbs for the inspiration and image in my mind).
Spock hates all clothes and takes off whatever he can...in the end Erica replicates him a little Star Fleet uniform as a last resort and it ends up being the only clothes Spock doesn't immediately scream over and try and take off.
Chris' quarters become the defecto base for both kids and Una. When the next crew dinner rolls around there are a lot of shocked faces when they enter to see how messy the living quarters are...clothes and toys are everywhere, there's stuffing coming out of cushions and crayon marks on the walls. Christine and Uhura stay behind to tidy up and clean. Chris mutters to Una as they try not to fall asleep at the kitchen counter that they have the best crew in the fleet.
Una singing Spock Illyrian lullabies to him and rocking him in her arms.
One night Spock will not stop crying...to not wake La'an, Chris takes Spock on a walk around the Enterprise. They end up seeing the Warp Core...the sound is soothing and Spock finally sleeps through the night whilst Chris slumps against a console. In the morning, Una and La'an bring Chris breakfast and Spock a bottle in the morning. Chris kisses Una's cheek in thanks, she blushes but puts this display of affection down to his sleep deprivation. La'an is finally starting to warming up to Baby!Spock and even helps Chris feed Spock his bottle.
Another night both kids are being difficult, Chris takes Spock and Una takes La'an. After several hours, La'an finally falls asleep and Una carefully untangles herself from toddler limbs and the bedcovers, she leaves the bedroom to find Chris fast asleep on the couch whilst Spock is wide awake but no longer crying, his fingers tracing Chris' face. Una smiles...her boys.
One night Chris and Una end up cramped on the edge of his bed nose-to-nose because there's no other space because La'an and Spock have spread eagled across 90% of the space. They laugh in their tiredness and say they wouldn't trade this experience for the stars. Chris comments that all they need now is a dog and Una says not to jinx it because what if a crew member turns into a Beagle next, and she really needs Pelia to find a cure for Baby!Spock and Little!Laan and not bark demands.
The rest of the crew sees how exhausted the command team are and offer to babysit Baby!Spock and Little La'an whilst Una and Chris go on a date rest...I can only see this going badly (but in an utterly hilarious way).
At some point they'll need to call Amanda and Sarek to explain what's happened to their son. Sarek will be like 'not my problem' and walk out of shot and Amanda will just coo at how cute baby!Spock is and explain how he was a very colic-y baby and totally cried for like a month straight when he was a baby before.

i can’t accentuate enough how much billy and steve are like billy and stu. there’s so many similarities in their lives. just look at the mfs names lol
exclude the murders on scream’s part and monsters on stranger things’ and it’s pretty much almost the same thing. you get two teenage boys in the 80s (90s) stupidly in love, who would kill and maybe even die for each other. steve (like stu) lives in a huge high-end house, alone almost all the time since his parents are always away and billys have an abusive dad, also their mom left and it was kinda shady
so my conclusion is: billy and stu definitely had some influence on billy and steve’s portrayal, both in canon and fanon
thanks for coming to my ted talk

an alternate spider-nance story:
nancy’s canon event is always the loss of barb. always. this time though, it’s a little different.
most of the time, it happens with the goblin. nancy just, isn’t fast enough when barb falls.
but this time…this time is different.
this time, nancy’s fighting the lizard in the middle of prom night. she dodges, once, twice, three times, before striking. they fight some more, until a beam falls. nancy’s suit is half shredded, but the lizard is finally defeated.
until she glimpses red hair and thick glasses.

after mt st helens erupted and percy went missing, annabeth rarely slept or ate. at first, when she did sleep, her dreams were filled with him dying over and over again. then they began to become more realistic of him shaking her awake and standing in front of her perfectly fine, healthy, alive. those hurt worse bc when she actually wakes up there’s this split second where she believes in her heart that it was real, only to look around and find herself alone again.

Hey -waves my hand in the air like I’m conjuring something- um....what if Neelix ran up to Tuvok, doing his mail rounds, and was like “Ooh here you are again Mr. Vulcan! It’s from your children!” and Tuvok was like don’t read my mail (I only read the veeery start!) and Tuvok looks at it and raises an eyebrow. He hands the PADD back to Neelix. “It’s for you.”
Neelix is confused. For him? No, this is from Tuvok’s children. He’s sure...and then he looks down and sees that after greetings, small family updates and well wishes to Tuvok, they have instructed for him to give the PADD to Neelix.  Neelix is shocked. He looks at Tuvok and asks if it’s?? Okay??? Is it okay to just read this?? (It’s addressed to you.) Should you stay here and read it with me?? (There is no need. I have work to do. -pointed look at his stack of PADDS- as do you.) So Neelix finishes delivering the rest of the PADDS then runs off to his quarters before thinking its too intimate and instead going off to read in some slow corner of the ship.  The writer of the letter appears to Tuvok’s eldest, Sek - though as Neelix reads more he is introduced to basically his entire family who all have something they have asked Sek to dictate or mention. The very first one is “My daughter T’Meni has asked me to inform you that she is three years old, can tie her own shoes and ate all of her dinner last night. Important information, no doubt. All true.”   The letter is mainly just a very typical letter, like one would send a family member. They all say they were pleased to hear that not only was Voyager still operational but that Tuvok was alive and well. They say that Neelix has been mentioned quite a bit by both Tuvok and other crew members (whose families have in turn mentioned him to each other). They say that if he’s anxious about whether or not there will be a place for him upon Voyager’s return - they hope this letter will ease that anxiety.  Elieth thanks him for his ‘resilience’ in ‘dealing with my father’s taciturn nature.’ (Neelix grins, is that a sense of humor!?) Asil details a recipe which she has found to be hearty and broadly pleasing to most aliens she has encountered. Varith says that Starfleet is very interested in Talaxians as an unencountered species.  Sek finishes off the letter saying that his mother wishes to meet Neelix the next time Voyager is able to establish contact with Starfleet and video call. He then says, very quickly as if brushing past it, that they all understand to some extent the emptiness which can come from being without family. He hopes this letter has, perhaps, been a drop within that emptiness.  Neelix is very touched. Beyond touched actually. Then he freaks out. A video call!?? MEETING T’Pel!?? Tuvok’s treasured wife!?? He runs to Tuvok (I am eating.) and explains the situation. Tuvok appears proud of his children’s thoughtfulness and a bit dubious about Neelix meeting T’Pel. Neelix is anxious: Why, do you think she won’t like me?? (On the contrary. I believe she will ‘like’ you very much.) Then the day comes where they can talk to their family members for however many minutes they get this time and Neelix is so pleased to have someone to look forward to talking to!! Even though he’s also so nervous about it!! He goes to Tuvok, worried. I’m so nervous to meet her. This is your /wife/ we’re talking about after all!! Should I dress up?? (There is no need to ‘dress up’, this is hardly a formal occasion. -squints- ...perhaps you could comb your hair.) Then it happens and Neelix MEETS T’Pel. He’s nervous and stammering and he should have known she’d be beautiful but also she’s so important to Tuvok and she’s REAL and oh wow oh wow. T’Pel asks him to calm down. She’s certain Tuvok has exaggerated her attributes, he has a tendency to do so. “Only because he loves you Mrs. Vulcan- I mean, Mrs. Tuvok?? Mrs....oh, he never told me-!” T’Pel tilts her head as if considering something. “T’Pel will be adequate. Though...Mrs. Vulcan does have a certain ring to it.” And Idk man...just seeing Neelix so happy about passing out those letters and stuff made me go ‘ahhhhghghhhh and he doesn’t have ANYONE waiting for him!!!’ and that it’d be nice if someone sent him a lil letter....and I chose Tuvok’s family to do that because  1 Look at my blog then deep into my eyes and tell me HONESTLY that you don’t think I’d shoehorn them into whatever situation possible 2 I think it would take a certain amount of divorce from one’s own emotions to give up a very rare chance to speak with your loved one. Sometimes it takes a certain unyielding logic to be extremely kind.

A short fic teaser (completely unrelated to all the other one's I've started... whoops)
Nancy is five by the time she realizes that the monsters in her dreams are vastly different and far worse than the ones all the other kids are scared of. They are scared of the ghost stories their older siblings told them, or of the creatures on TV. They worry about monsters under the bed, or in their closets, like Sulley from that new movie, Monsters Inc. Sulley isn’t even scary. Sulley is kind and he helps little girls like her. Sulley has a face. Sulley doesn’t leave parents dead on the floor, bleeding from the eyes with their limbs broken and horribly misshapen. He doesn’t steal and eat best friends. He doesn’t even make little girls bleed.
She tries to ask her parents about it, but all she gets in return are horrified looks and questions about babysitters watching bad movies. They don’t believe her when she says she’s never seen a movie like that. Her older brother Nathan and her never see their old babysitter again. It makes her sad. Abby had been really nice.
Nancy is six the first time she hears the word PTSD. The nice therapist lady had just been playing dolls with her before asking her parents to join them in the room to talk. She doesn’t understand what it means, but it makes her parents freak out and start arguing with the lady. They claim that it makes no sense, that nothing has ever happened to her to cause that level of trauma. The lady tries to calm them down, telling them she understands, but that it’s something that would explain her breakdowns when confronted with fireworks or guns. It would explain her night terrors and how frequently she woke her family up with screams. It would even explain some of her tantrums where no one could get through to her, or her moments of dissociation.
Nancy doesn’t understand most of the conversation, but she does figure out that something is wrong with her that none of the adults know how to deal with... She learns quickly that numb quiet makes people happier, so she learns how to mask it behind a smile and a lie. Adults seem to like telling her to smile.
