Five Posts I Hate:

#1: This blog is safe for ________.

Like, my blog isn’t dangerous for anyone, aside from fictional characters played by Colin O’Donoghue. It is literally safe for everyone and anyone else. Saying your blog is a safe place for [fill in the blank] kinda implies there are people / groups / individuals that your blog is NOT safe for. And that just leaves me wondering if you’ve got booby traps laid around the place or something. I suppose it would make sense if the blank was filled with “minors” or “work” but I can’t even remember the last time I saw someone post either of those - as that seems more like something you’d put in your header if it was important enough that you wanted people to actually see it when they come to your blog. Otherwise, it would just be pointless one-time posturing, wouldn’t it?

#2: Unfollow me if you ________.

Well, that’s just not how any of this works. Content creators of any kind don’t get to dictate who consumes their content, let alone based on arbitrary things like their personal / political / religious views. I mean, if you have a real beef with someone specific, you can block them, but you can’t ask people to self-censor your content from their view because something they do / believe is unappealing to you. Hitler himself could reanimate his corpse just to quietly follow your blog and there is nothing you can do to stop that motherfucker’s eyeballs from devouring every post you make - short of not making those posts.

Mind you, if people are doing it for the viewer’s benefit (say a whump blog warning folks, “Don’t follow me if you faint at the sight of blood”) then that’s another thing entirely. In that case, you’re warning people that if they ignore your warning, it’s at their own risk. Otherwise, it’s basically saying, “Punish yourself for holding this belief that I find abhorrent” and, like, no one’s going to do that? Why would they? Why should they? It’s 20-fucking-23 and it has always been true that people you don’t like are going to consume and even enjoy your content. Get over it.

#3: Reblog this to show you care about _______.

Fuck you. Just... fuck you. I care about whatever I care about, and it’s my business what those things are. I share them if I want to share them. I leave them unspoken if I want to leave them unspoken. NO ONE should ever assume people care about or don’t care about things based on what they post (or don’t post) on their little internet blog. I could care about an issue with the power of a thousand suns and I still won’t reblog a post that contains this wording or anything like it, because fuck you for implying that anyone who doesn’t reblog your shitty ass do-nothing post on the interwebs doesn’t care about whatever it is your post is about. Seriously. Fuck off with that shit.

#4: Vote for ________.

I’m as apolitical as they come, but I’m all for politically-minded people encouraging others to get out there and vote. I even think it’s great when celebrities support those kinds of messages. I DON’T like it when non-voters are shunned or not voting is treated like an invalid choice for citizens to make, but I’m 100% for people reminding others when an important election is near and giving positive encouragement to take part in the process.

But such messages stop being okay the moment someone starts telling people who to vote for. Now you’re no longer trying to get others actively involved in the electoral process - now you’re trying to game the system by increasing the number of votes your chosen candidate receives. Adding those few words has now turned your entire post into nothing more than political propaganda. EVERY individual has the right - and the responsibility - to vote for whichever options THEY feel are best, NOT the ones YOU feel are best. Encouraging others to read up on all of the issues, candidates, and offices involved is responsible citizenship. Telling them to go vote for your candidate because you said so is utter bullshit.

#5: Tag five friends / blogs...

How ‘bout I tag NOBODY, so I don’t give five people warm fuzzies at the cost of everyone else’s feelings? How ‘bout I tag NOBODY, so everybody can decide whether they want to take part in whatever shenanigans the post is up to? How ‘bout I do whatever the fuck I want and you stop telling me what to do?

6. nope it's not actually. Way back in the day during the young days of the interwebs I used to write on a site called Fanfiction. net. Then I wrote in a few geocities groups and on livejournal. I currently have one work on Ao3 but no i will not tell ya'll what it is. I used to write a lot in my teens and stuff but in notebooks that were unfortunately thrown away because yeah... I live a really shitty life lol!

10. I enjoy most genres honestly though I'm more into like the scifi or high fantasy. I used to enjoy the superhero genre and writing villains but the marvel rpc kind of killed that love for me big time... the only time i wrote period anything was when i started the Crimson Peak rpc by writing the first Thomas Sharpe blog but certain Loki rpers sort of ruined that and I left my blog. But I've wanted to branch out like genre wise it's just more my issues with caring about the genre lol like I'm the type that researches A LOT so like if it's not interesting to me I'm probably not going to seek it out persay

Like, imagine finding out your lawyer got The Interwebs to write the defense for him, and it's got absurdist death threats and a Dashcon joke that are going right over everybody's heads except for you and that one juror who choked trying not to laugh.

Anyways, I did the little "don't use my info for AI training" thing in Blog Settings. Probably it's not gonna actually stop anything, but I want my protest to be noted.

Really enjoying this trend in Tumblr to decide that, retrospectively, that particular representation wasn't representative ENOUGH and, actually, that creator should be cancelled for not trying harder.

One: Uh, you're not the writer, you don't get to decide the story, if you don't like it write your own?!?!

Two: If it's not actively harmful, then what exactly is your problem? Are you saying that there's a morally perfect standard of not just being non-harmful, but actually being VIRTUOUS that you want to hold your media to?!?

Three: Consider that even in the best case creators are not working in a vacuum- there's several dozen reasons Kirk and Spock are not ACTUALLY a couple in canon and that's okay. It doesn't diminish your interpretation just because they couldn't/didn't/wouldn't make it canon.

Four: And, actually this is my least helpful and yet favorite point, no one asked you. No one. It is the interwebs, sure, and you are more than welcome to post whatever you want but like, are you incapable of differentiating between your opinions and things we should actively bring to group conversations? There's a difference between posting "I hate X" on YOUR blog, and commenting that on a creators tweet/blog/page. It's not evil of you, or wrong, it's just suuuuuper shitty. So maybe don't.

After some hiccups I’m finally in my first year at uni! Studying “English Language and Culture”

So far there’ve been two subjects every block, one is linguistics focused, the other is literature focused. For literature we’re currently discussing renaissance and restoration period texts. Linguistics is focused on phonology (and using voice frequency analysers, there’s suddenly physics in my english :/ ), syntax, and morphology.

I’m Sorry

It has been a long time since I’ve even opened Tumblr, let alone posted anything here on my sideblog. I forgot I even had this, for a while. But with the Wheel of Time tv show gearing up, I realized I needed to clean out this old blog, and clarify a few things.

When I was first active on this blog, it had been a few years since my last read-through. I was also in active denial about being raped by my partner. When I entered into the wider fandom for the first time, I had been a solitary reader for a decade. I hadn’t bounced any ideas off of anyone, let alone read the myriad of theories and opinions. It’s not that I was in denial that men could be raped, it’s that if I allowed myself to see that Mat was raped, I would have to admit that I was raped as well.

So, I argued multiple times that what Tyelin did to Mat was not rape.

I wish I could take it back. I can go through and delete the posts from this blog, but that doesn’t erase them from the internet. There isn’t a magic wand to make my past opinions vanish from existence. They’re there. You all saw them. Maybe you participated in those conversations with me. All I can say is I’m sorry. I see a LOT of things differently than I did in 2016. I’ve come to terms with my own sexual assault and am no longer in denial about anything. Much has changed. But the best thing I can do now is own my shitty opinions, admit I was wrong, apologize, and move forward doing better than I did before.

I’m sorry if I hurt anyone with my denials. I’m sorry if my words made anyone feel unheard, unbelieved, or ashamed. I know I never took those opinions outside of book discussions and my positions were only ever about Mat and Tyelin specifically. Not men in general. Men can be victims of sexual assault, and I know that. I’m sorry if I ever implied otherwise.

If I do come back to this blog, seeing as how we’re about to have All The Meme Content, I want it on the record that I was wrong and that I’m sorry. I haven’t decided if I’m going to delete those posts or not. Probably, even though the reblogs are out there in the interwebs regardless. I don’t need to leave them up here to harm people in the future.

I don’t plan to do the tumblr protest because previous experience tells me that it means nothing to the companies that run the blogs (on tumblr and on LJ and other platforms), that even if 50k people participated, it wouldn’t be enough of a dip to get any kind of notice, even if it did, it would never be attributed to the right cause. So, instead, I’ll keep using tumblr and keep reblogging/talking about (at least on my main account) how shitty all of this is. But I genuinely do wish the best to those of you who participate and I’d be entirely happy if I was wrong about it! No, I don't like being his TF…

Surprise mother fuckers! I didn't ask for this. Most of the time I'm wondering how I got here. Like maybe the urgency to "find him" was all in my head. Like you know my whole life figuring out or trying to understand my feelings about it. Starting since I was 9ish I remember thinking that I had to stop something from happening and it had to do with some dude that would be far away.

When I was introduced to the interwebs I thought God answered my prayers. Consciously and subconsciously I was looking and hated it. Sometimes I just put those feelings away and got myself involved in some skeevy shit to distract myself or swore to God I would give up. Nope. Even if I wanted to it was like signs and dreams were constantly reminding me that time was running out.

Right before and after his death I knew I was fucked. Since the psychic confirmed my feelings I was still hoping Erik didn't die but when paranormal shit was kicking up, I knew it. And when I knew and figured Josh wasn't him, I literally gave up. No more looking. It was over. Now what? I did what I do best and partied. Drank and did drugs and ate. I don't like looking back.

Remembering talking to the invisible friend I secretly had. I knew my search was over and I was in denial it was him. Wanting to die 6 years later only to find his moms YouTube? Creepy shit. I freaked the fuck out when after a suggestion I talked to this mysterious thing following me around. It was never threatening, if anything comforting.

People have tried to convince me and warn me.

You know how some people suddenly have a bachelors in parapsychology when you talk about this shit. They try to convince erik is some kind of demon or whatever. What they don't know is my experience with them and my protection practices. Gotta love ignorance. They claim to just want to warn me like I'm some 5th grader with a Ouija Board. I'm stupid but I'm sure as fuck NOT dumb. Okay?

Even after Erik trying to drive into me his legitimacy, I found myself looking for him again. He then would kind of shake and remind me the search is over and I have to come to terms with this. This fucking sucks dude. If I didn't have to be politically correct id say this is gay as fuck.

Just like there is no way that the way I look in my dreams/trips back "home" I'm a blonde hoity-toity glorified babysitter or some shit. Ew! No! I don't care for dresses and fancy shit. Well actually it's not that bad but still gross. I prefer my visits I go as I am incarnated here. You know, on this shitty rock.

I would also prefer my TF to be alive but of course jokes on me.
