Good soup?
Poor Fanny was hungry! (we got her a snack later don't worry) :>
But here! I coloured in the Sanderson Sisters and Shakespear shenanigans.
I think Fantoccio would enjoy rehearsing with our babies :>

most unhinged moments in act 1 of macbeth
lady macbeth using the MOST FUCKING UNHINGED METAPHOR (“if i made you a promise, even to KILL MY OWN BABY, i would do it even while breastfeeding because IM A GOOD PERSON WHO KEEPS HER WORD”)
macbeth telling lady macbeth that she’s so smart she should only have male children (“bear forth men-children only”)
the first witch saying “a sailor’s wife had chestnuts in her lap and munched and munched and munched. ‘give me,’ quoth i.” that’s ICONIC
banquo saying “you should be women, and yet your beards forbid me to interpret that you are so.”
banquo’s whole character. like what is he doing there?? he’s so silly
lady macbeth begging the spirits to take her period blood and clog up all her femininity so she can be cruel and kill people. also iconic
duncan being SO GULLIBLE he gets betrayed by not one but TWO people. duncan. come ON
banquo not-so-vaguely suggesting that he and macbeth got high and that’s why they saw witches

Macbeth: So would you rather kill Duncan- Lady Macbeth: Yes. Macbeth: I didn't even say the rest of the sentence- Lady Macbeth: I don't need to hear it. Duncan: Feeling a little unsafe...

Lady Macbeth fainting in Scene 2 act II and it being 'debated' as to why (according to my copies commentary) is so funny to me. Like, that's up to the director and the act•or•ress who plays her. If they decide she's actually disturbed by the actions of the previous scenes, it'd make sense to be a real faint. If they decide she's protecting Macbeth, a faint (hehe).
That's the beauty of a play, it takes on new life with each performance.
And no matter which way it went, the men around her wouldn't have taken her seriously anyway. They see her as a fragile being, incapable of handling such a serious situation.

Last night was my company Holiday Party, and we're doing really well, so it was held at the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston)
I was so happy that also included the Styled by Sargent exhibit, of John Singer Sargent paintings and the actual articles of clothing alongside them.
Now, you have probably seen this painting of Lady Macbeth
Tumblr media
But have you seen the costume she's wearing??
Tumblr media
It's gorgeous, obviously.
But that texture! It's *crochet*
And some knitting
Really simple crochet too; just a chain and single crochet lattice with beads and metallic thread added for this chain mail effect.
Despite John Singer Sargent being an expert painter of fabric (no, really, just look at it), I never knew Lady Macbeth's costume had to be *hand crocheted* for that texture in the painting.
Anyway I'm gonna be making myself some faux-chainmail by crocheting it for the next Renn Faire

Did Lady Macbeth successfully utilize "girl power" when she convinced her husband to murder the king thus damning them both to a slow descent into insanity and eventual death?

Look I have nothing against modern aus and I find them very entertaining, but sometimes I think that some Shakespeare characters just aren't built for social media. Romeo would read one (1) news article about something horrible happening a thousand miles away and burst into tears. Macbeth would destroy every computer in a several mile radius because "they're spying on my every move" while his wife tries to hire a hitman off the dark web or something. The list goes on.
