I started Run On with a very low expectation since I'm not fond of slice of life dramas, yet the characters really intrigued me??? Put aside the plot, I guess the writers put on effort of giving life to the characters... Like you can imagine them as diff persons in real life?
Both main characters and side characters have their own strong personalities. Oh Mijoo played by Shin Sekyung reminded me of Lovelyz's Mijoo who's good at being spontaneous and daring on camera. Seo Danah on the other hand, despite being rich and having anything go her way, she is seen as a psychopath for her poor social skills and lack of empathy. Her upbringings made her build walls around, forcing ppl to always be cautious around her. To think back, she's my favourite character and I can't wait to see her character develops later (as of ep. 12). Not to mention, Ki Seongyeom?? He is a personafication of what innocence really is. Defn a comfort drama

Not Kdramas making me realize that I have a thing for the Older Rich/Wealthy, Hard-working and Work-Focused Woman Who May Not Know How To People (in a SoftTM way) and her human lapdog the Younger Infinitely More Sensitive Philosophical* Dude Who She Shares Very Sexy Snarky Banter With.
*philosophical is the only similarity i could think of between artist and not-a-priest.
If anyone has any recommendations (both of the asiandrama and the non variety), please let me know!

random thoughts about run on, episode four
(please do note that this post contains spoilers so read at your own risk.)
okay so a lot has happened in this episode and i wasn’t ready for it
like dan ah said “even when making a mess, he (seon gyeom) still didn’t break the rules” it summarizes the character quite well. he wants justice but still won’t break rules. it makes me respect him even more because he stands by his morals
another thing that made me respect seon gyeom even more was how truthful he was to his father. he stood his ground and told him everything he wanted to say, especially that sentence “Unwanted love is the same as violence”
after that, you can see ki jeong do (seon gyeom’s father) taking it out on everyone else when he’s one of the main reasons for all of that happening. he wasn’t there for his son and when he was, it was to belittle his son
on a completely unrelated note, the matching blue outfits at the beginning of the episode were cute 💙
a recurring theme in this episode is mi joo telling seon gyeom is too harsh on himself (for example, he grew up nicely even though he didn’t grow up in a healthy environment or he worries about everyone but himself)
to sum it up, seon gyeom is a “person who got hurt so much he’s used to it now. so now he doesn’t even know what’s hurting him”
we finally got the first dan ah x yeong hwa scene yay!!! i can sense yeong hwa will be my idiot (affectionate)
the first time seon gyeom ran was “away from his dad. he wanted to leave everything behind and go far away. it felt like he had a world of his own where only he could be heard. the first time he made a decision on his own” i guess that’s why he runs. it’s the only decision he made in his entire life and that must be why he continued to do so
oh and i wonder if the woo sik interview will be published and the consequences of his revelations
