𝘛𝘺𝘱𝘰𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘩𝘺 𝘴𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘳

Before i watched Lorraine's Seminar on typography, I didn't know what to expect. I never really was interested in that sort of media but I found myself quite surprised on how much I learned from it and history behind it on how it all began.

What I found most entrancing is the fact that we are constantly surrounded by typography.

Why is it important?

it is how we show our appreciation for each other

keeps us safe

helps us communicate

navigation etc.

Neon Typography by Samuel Burgess - Johnson & David

Offering pink neon title spelling out song titles in various backgrounds to invoice sentiment on each tone or nostalgia. I found the piece very interesting as the word is brought out to the public physically as an object rather on paper or 2d shape at the same time lights up making the word and background cooperate together in harmonious way.

Neville Brody

I was attracted instantly towards his style of typography, I've always liked Bold fonts and colours merging together but still have enough contrast towards one another and doesn't merge into one. I just think his style looks very appealing just from variations of shapes and sizes.

David Carson

Lorraine also mentioned David Carson which also caught my attention from his unique typography. Most of his work was done in 90s and contained inspiration with different things that happened at that specific time combined with his own interest.

Overall I enjoyed the seminar it made me more open minded on various ways you are able to portray things and start to get inspiration from fonts in general that you see in your daily life.
