imagine being prism knight's mother and after YEARS not only does your daughter who went off adventuring come home but she brings home your long lost husband and, the kicker, they've made up just fine despite him being absent for so long
my god puzzle knight sitting there for so long like . not knowing if they're okay or not. getting home feeling prism knights mother might not wanna see him at all. not knowing if his daughter would wanna see him at all when if i interpreted it right he wanted to complete the puzzle for her ??? this was all meant to be a gift, this wasn't supposed to end the way it did at ALL!!! but it somehow all works out okay????
i think the turmoil could be made worse by saying he was a very good father and very close to his family before he suddenly disappeared without a trace and nothing taken w him but his singular outfit of clothes like is he dead or did he just really want to leave Forever or did somebody kidnap his old ass?? and as a lack of evidence for anything is shown it seems more and more like he just ran away
i need to go thru the pd as puzzle and prism knight so bad
puzzle diagnosed with Cube Avoidance for the rest of his life he couldn't play portal if his life depended on it the poor guy

How was the Miracle Mask? I loved the Layton games but I stopped after Unwound Future. I still go to YT to listen to the live versions of the soundtrack
I have some conflicted feelings about the series' jump to 3D, but over all its a great game!! My only major complaint is that in MM the rate of puzzles you find through the story feels a lot lower than other games. Kinda like they kept the same number of puzzles in the story as in previous ones, but the story itself is much longer, so you can talk to quite a few NPCs in a row and not find a puzzle for a while, and I am too puzzlepilled at this point and crave funny little riddles to solve, so it was a bit frustrating at times😭😭😭
YMMV though, I think the main plot is interesting at least, and like any PL game it made me cry in the end. If you stopped at Unwound Future I would say totally give at least Last Specter a play!! It has my favorite city to walk around through out of all the games so far and some of those puzzles are iconicccc also introduces Best Girl Emmy <3
The last game of the series so far, Azran Legacy, is the only game I haven't played yet, so I'm excited to play it (mostly) blind (after i spend a bit more time on all the post-game puzzles of MM, I usually like 100% all the puzzles before moving on and there is A Lot in this game which I really do appreciate :)

Atem for the character ship thing

My NOTP for them: No comment. I have NOTPs, but I also have friends who are into those NOTPs, and my opinion sometimes means more than it should. So in the interest of not ruining their fun, I won’t say. No sense in being negative, and I’m mature enough to just ignore something if I don’t like it.
My BROTP for them: Atem and Jonouchi. These two make such a good pair who love an support each other platonically for me.
My OTP for them: Puzzleshipping (Yugi x Atem)
My second choice pairing for them: Prideshipping or Casteshipping. Both come really close to being my second fav. (Pride is Atem x Seto. And Caste is Atem x TKB).
My fluffy pairing for them: Puzzle
My angsty pairing for them: Either Puzzle or Pride. Depends on the context. Both can be equally angsty.
My favorite poly ship for them: Flareshipping (Yugi x Atem x Seto) and Mobiumshipping (Yugi x Yami x Atem).
My weirdest pairing for them: without a doubt the Puzzlepile. The 9+ Yugi ship is just the most ridiculous monstrosity I ever accidentally began shipping all because of a shit post.

My NOTP for them: I can’t really think of any ships that are a hard no for me involving Seto. The ones I’m not interested in I’m just indifferent to. No strong feels.
My BROTP for them: My favorite non-romantic pair for Seto is him and Pegasus. I think both characters play off of each other so well, and have this love-hate relationship that’s not romantic, but is teasingly antagonistic. And it’s such a delight.
My OTP for them: Rivalshipping (Yugi x Seto)
My second choice pairing for them: Prideshipping (Atem x Seto)
My fluffy pairing for them: I have no idea. Seto is so unfluffy. His existence is just to make problems for people.

Hilarious headcanons involving the Yugi OT6+ (now affectionately named the Puzzlepile)
The reason all the Yugis (there are now more than nine, people keep sending me more) are in the same place is because Seto Kaiba built an invention designed to pull Atem out of the afterlife, and ended up accidentally yanking Yugis from different times, spaces, and dimensions like some Into the SpiderverseYugiverse bullshit.
Kaiba has made himself their self-appointed sugar Daddy.
Kaiba built them a condominium building, to keep them all in one convenient location.
Twice a week they all take turns dueling Kaiba until they tire him out.
All the Yugis get together for game night officially three times a week. (But we all know that they break off in smaller groups and game every night.)
Once a week all the Yugis play DnD with Ryou Bakura.
The Yugis frequently get together for a movie night in Atem’s condo. Where they become a massive Yugi cuddle pile.
Kaiba just inserts himself among all of it. And they tolerate him.
Not all of the Yugis like Kaiba. Mao(s0 Yami) for example, holds a grudge against him because of Death T. Mao cannot be left alone with Kaiba.
All the Yugis have to take turns babysitting Mao to keep him from setting things on fire, running around with a knife, and murdering/cursing people.
Heba has the hardest time adjusting to the modern world, and is the shyest Yugi. So all the Yugis give him lots of hugs and encouraging words. But Heba stays home the most.
s0 Yugi (aka Baby Yugi) gets loved on and cuddled like the tiny little happy meal toy he is. All the Yamis and Atems are severely protective of him since he is the Yugi that got beat up and attacked the most.
The various Yugis go out to try and get different jobs so they aren’t completely reliant on Kaiba. (Some do it out of spite, others out of wariness. And some are just bored.)
Henry. (*wheezes*) I cannot get over the fact that there is a British Prince version of Yugi named Henry. It will never not be funny.
When the Yugis go shopping for clothes it’s an entire event/holiday. They come home with loads of shopping bags, and leave exhausted leather stores in their wake.
AI holo-Atem is touch starved. Because he can’t touch anyone.
Every game they play it’s unnecessarily dramatic and competitive.
There are so many intense emotional looks, and hand-holding.
They all do each other’s make up and hair.

A - Your current OTP(s)/OT3(s)/OTX(s)
Uhhhh, let’s try and keep this simply I guess? OTPs: Puzzleshipping, Boundshipping, Deathshipping, Marichat/Lovesquare, Mariblanc, and Lukanette. OT3s: Mobiumshipping, Bakushipping, Radicalshipping, MariBlancNoir, and Lukadrienette. OTX: Conspireshipping and Puzzlepile/Yugiverse.
B - A pairing you initially didn’t consider but someone changed your mind
It took seeing some Alyanette art to make me double take and go, “ohhh, I never considered this, but now I like it. Yes please. I’ve also been persuaded into Kimax, MariKim, Lukagami, and AdriNath. They are all so yummy. As far as YGO goes, I never considered Shadi x Pegasus until a comic crossed my dash, and then I was all, “I am listening. I am ready to be convinced.” Now I am kinda intrigued. Also I never thought much about Yugi x Dark Magician, but some art passed my tumblr dash, and now my interest is piqued.
G - Do you remember your first OTP, if so who was in it
The first ship I ever shipped, and like read fanfic and really got into it was Albel x Nel. From the video game Star Ocean Till the End of Time. There was a dedicated website to the ship back in the day, with its own collection of fanart, and fanfic, and I remember it being so pretty. Their slogan was, “AlNel, a match made in heaven or hell?” I even remember the name of my favorite fanfic author from back in the day, SorceressMist. This was all easily more than 11 years ago.
H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., tv shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)
So for YGO I tend to refer to the original seven mangas/season zero for information about the characters. Name spelling, personality, etc etc. but that’s because I like the Season Zero versions of everyone best. I sort of cherry pick stuff from DM to supplement from there.
As for Miraculous, I lean toward the English dub of the cartoon for my character information and personality. It’s what I know best. And I hate reading subtitles. Got to multitask while I watch stuff, so can’t be bogged down with reading.

Miraculous Ladybug. Saw chat nerd gifs all over tumblr and became intrigued. It looked kinda interesting. So I ended up renting disk 3 of season one from the local movie rental shop. And it took two watches of the disk before the show really grew on me. My husband liked the show from the first watch.
O - Choose a song at random, which ship or character does it remind you of
I set my Work Music playlist to random, and Crazy Chicks by Ken Ashcorp started playing. The ships I think about with that song are Deathshipping, and Season Zero Puzzleshipping. Cause YMarik, and Mao (s0 Yami) are heck’n crazy. And I wouldn’t want them any other way. Love my unhinged boys.
E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom, if so, what
I mean I drew art of Yugi trying to kancho Atem, and by extension other people. So I take responsibility for Kancho Yugi existing.
I’m responsible for Yami with the Speak & Spell. It was silly joke at first, and now it’s just canon to my fanfic.
I also put waaay too much effort into making Radicalshipping a thing. (Yugi x YMarik x YBakura.) It started as just crackship, hilarious fun, but then a friend helped me name the ship, and then I drew more art for it. And now a fully illustrated multichapter Radicalshipping fanfic is in the works. @nedjemetsenen and I have been busy. So crack ship turned more serious ship I guess. But it’s my crack ship, I’m nurturing it.
Those are the most crackish examples I can think of contributing to the fandom that are NOT the Yugiverse nonsense. And I can’t even claim full responsibility for the Yugiverse/Puzzlepile nonsense, because people have been shipping multiple Yugis together since forever. I just don’t think people took it to as much of an extreme as…. (6,7… 9… Yugi, Heba, Atem, Timaeus, Yami, Mao, Baby Yugi, Orichalcos Yugi, Orichalcos Yami, Henry, AI-tem, GX Yugi, and I can’t think of anymore. I’m sure there was more. But that’s 12) 12 Yugis! Alas it was a hilarious and fun adventure.
