Personality: He is a very cruel and ruthless man who reveres science (especially how it can be used to create a super race of beings). He wants to push humanity past it's peak by any means necessary. He very much admires Black Hat so much that he wishes to make a being that could be as close as evil as he. He values brilliant minds regardless if they are heroes or villains. He does also want heroes and villains to breed together, especially if it can create the super human race he envisions. He also has a survival of the strongest mentality and has a low view of those he sees as weak. He does conduct himself in a sophisticated and polite manner even as he's doing something really horrible to someone.

Background: He was originally a scientist from the Victorian era who became fascinated by superpowered beings and believed they were the first steps in evolution. He grew mad obsessed with trying to breed and experiment more superhumans that it alienated his peers who think he was insane. He was soon approached by a dark man who offered him the resources to be able to fulfill his dreams and he accepted. The man turned out to be Black Hat and he joined his Victorian era organization and was turned into Dr. Menace. He then throughout the centuries would use his powers to do experiments to try to breed powerful super beings and discard who he sees as inferior. He wants to see to it he can make a being that is close to evil as Black Hat.

* He develops a thing for Mecha Max and thinks she's a great rival in genius. And even would love to reproduce with her. He wants to also figure out her lineage so he can figure out how she came out such a genius.

* He is a frequent guest speaker at the Black Hat Institute.

* He and Flug have worked together and appreciates his brilliance and believes he's one of the most brilliant scientists in history. He also secretly wants him and Max to get together to produce smart offspring.

* He has a group of minions called the Raiders.

* He is an admirer of Dr. Rapture's work.

* He also wishes Penumbra and Sunblast get together to see the results of what their powers could entail.

* He is based on Mister Sinister.

* He has a history of encouraging pairs in the villain community like Dark Phantom's parents. He does seem to think Dark Phantom is a disappointment and doesn't live up the potential his parents set.

* He frequently is an adversary of Bastardos and has his eyes on pairing Polecat and Dr. Chip together to produce great potential offspring.

* He also has interest in getting Green Rod and Coyote together to see what offspring they can produce. And continues to have an interest in them as they form a bloodline together.

* He used to have more regressive viewpoints on race, gender, and sexuality but abandoned them as time went on.

* He tends to use old school British slang and terms.

They nodded. "Very well. I shall inform Judge Drace and ready the Penumbra for departure." They wondered if it was right to have alerted Judge Gabranth to Judge Ynarra in case Judge Ynarra had been acting as a spy but Judge Gabranth's reaction seemed to suggest otherwise.

At their dismissal they bowed their head again. "Thank you, your Honor." They turned and left to tell Judge Drace and to ready Judge Gabranth's airship. They would finish their report on board and give it to him there as ordered.

Gabranth waited until the subordinate had left before he relaxed his stance and sighed heavily and a bit frustratedly. His hidden plans, which were a combination of both his own and Emperor Gramis', were at odds with his overt ones that involved Vayne's orders. Outwardly, he was loyal to Vayne and carrying out his plans to subjugate Dalmasca, helping him to hunt down this wayward womanchild of a Princess and collect the escaped fugitive that was his own brother.

Inwardly, he was cursing left and right that Gylfie risked fouling up his plans to keep Vayne in check and to eventually seat Larsa on the throne. If the Dalmascan Princess retrieved that which would help her prove her Dynast lineage, she would be playing right into Vayne's hands. He had planned to capture the Princess and keep her, so that she could not search for the powerful piece of deifacted nethicite that was her birthright. Then, all he had to do was tell Vayne they were searching for it. If the girl managed to retrieve that nethicite... the various ways and paths by which Gabranth could keep it from Vayne narrowed... and narrowed significantly.

Pacing again, he removed his helm and laid it upon his desk, needing more air. Gylfie would make a terrible spy, he knew. She was not acting as one, on her own accord and without order, because she was a genuine and honest sort. Honest people made unconvincingly liars, and spies thrived on the telling of misleading, partial, and convoluted truths.

However... he also knew that she was true to herself, and that self had a moral compass far more solid than Gabranth's own. So he also knew that she would not purposely foil his plans to protect Larsa until such time as Vayne could be dealt with, because she knew it was the right thing to do for the Empire. That left that she either was doing something very foolish that she didn't realize had the potential screw everything up for him and their cause, or she was acting on information he didn't have that she felt made a difference for something.

There was no way to know that until he spoke with her.

He poured himself a drink in an attempt to calm down. Until he heard that his airship was ready to depart, all he could do was wait. He wanted to trust Gylfie so badly, but he prepared himself for the worst.
