can you imagine being a little twee simon and garfunkel fan in the late 60s and then buying your new vinyl at the record store and hearing mrs. robinson for the first time in your own home. i would’ve fallen over backwards

#i don't know if i've ever mentioned this--and i dont even remember why this is the case--but mrs. robinson was one of the first songs #that i ever knew in this lifetime. like. when youre a little tiny baby and youre barely aware what music is #and you know the words to the chorus of at most like 15 songs. mrs. robinson was one of those songs and i dont remember why or how #probably my father? he's also the reason that i knew the beatles when i was that young too #he also played a lot of bob marley and elvis. we used to have little dance parties in the living room after watching shrek every night #where he'd play his music. but i cant think mrs. robinson was one of those songs? its NOT a dance song #(i can try though. you cant stop me)#text post #simon and garfunkel #but yes this also does mean allstar by smash mouth was also one of those first primordial songs on my consciousness #mrs. robinson really though is such a beautiful and clever song im never gonna be over it #simon and garfunkel is one of those few bands where their most famous song arguably deserves that status in their discography #altho that did get a little different after i watched the graduate as a teenager lol #but the song. didn't slap any less naturally. it just had a new association #also fun fact i don't know at what age i learned that mrs. robinson was by simon and garfunkel #at least until i was like 10 i thought it was by the beatles?

This is kinda random but can Helsknight sing? This question is very important to me I need to know

Is he physically capable of singing? Yes. And he can probably sing decently well [as well as someone who has scratched up his voice by yelling all the time can sing. Give us that growl-y rough-voice harmony.]

I do think, though, that he chooses not to sing on principle. Singing is Welsknight's thing [both in RnS and literally! Welsknight has a SoundCloud!]. I feel like Helsknight would draw a firm line around his poetry as "mine" and singing as "his". Rarely, he might be caught humming while doing busy work, but unfortunately I think that's the closest he gets.

The only exception would be the pre-tournament parties where all the gladiators get together and eat/drink/be merry, in which case for morale alone, he can be coerced into singing [probably after some drinks and a lot of haranguing by the people around him]. Making sure his Colosseum buddies are feeling happy and glorious right before a fight takes major precedence over his personal discomfort.

i keep scribbling Laughingstock as soft and wholesome, when in my brain they're chaotic and wholesome. Howdy's got that high energy and Barns is always down to clown yk yk

#like for example i have this very vivid Scene in my mind #where the neighborhood is having a little garden party and nice music is playing #franklydear is slow dancing. everyone is dancing either sweetly or just Normally #and then in the background you have laughingstock stumbling around laughing their asses off #because they're trying to attempt Swing but howdy has too many legs and its just a complete disaster #Completely ruining the vibe though no one minds. except frank probably #theyre just. theyre so Goofy #they have a thousand inside jokes and are always up to Something #they start to approach activities normally and then they stop and go 'hey wait. wouldn't it be funny if...'#the answer is always Yes. it Would be funny. and it Will Be.#they are each others' biggest fans and enablers in my mind #laughingstock #absolutely unprompted #and i just Know barnaby would be always pushing howdy's business #he overhears someone mention possibly needing something and he sidles over like 'heyyyy howdys got a great sale goin rn 👀'#barnaby: i know my jokes are outta this world but ya know what else is?
