Primeiro avião P-3C alemão comprado pela Força Aérea aterrou ontem em Beja

O primeiro de um total de seis aviões P-3C adquiridos pela Força Aérea portuguesa à Alemanha aterrou ontem em Beja e vai contribuir para missões de busca e salvamento e de patrulhamento marítimo, anunciou o ramo.

Em comunicado, a Força Aérea adiantou que “o primeiro de seis aviões P-3C adquiridos pela Força Aérea ao Governo da República Federal da Alemanha” aterrou ontem pelas 14h20 na Base Aérea N.º 11, em Beja.

Os seis aviões vão ser integrados na frota da Esquadra 601 — “Lobos” que já opera a versão P-3C CUP+ Orion, “responsável por assegurar a soberania e a vigilância do Espaço Estratégico de Interesse Nacional e a cobertura de toda a área das duas regiões de informação de voo e de busca e salvamento sob jurisdição do Estado Português — uma das maiores do mundo –, contribuindo decisivamente para as missões de busca e salvamento de muito longo alcance, o que garante a salvaguarda da vida humana nos casos de acidente ou de situações de emergência ocorridos no mar”, lê-se na nota.

De acordo com o ramo, o contrato celebrado entre os governos português e alemão inclui todo o inventário da frota P-3C disponibilizado pela República Federal da Alemanha constituído por seis aeronaves, sobresselentes, equipamentos de apoio e bancadas de teste, bem como os simuladores de voo e de procedimentos táticos.

No comunicado é citada uma resolução de Conselho de Ministros, na qual o Governo sustenta que a aquisição de todo o inventário da frota alemã “surge como uma oportunidade de garantir a operação do sistema de armas P-3C CUP+ nos próximos anos sem constrangimentos significativos, assegurando a sustentação com níveis elevados de disponibilidade”, uma vez que, sem esses recursos, “o incremento das atuais taxas de aprontamento de aeronaves, que progressivamente vão tendo crescentes períodos de indisponibilidade por necessitarem de ações de manutenção para as quais não existe material disponível no mercado, ficará comprometido”.

These aircraft are destined to bolster Argentina's capabilities in surveillance, monitoring, and Search and Rescue (SAR) missions in the South Atlantic. The acquired fleet consists of one P-3N variant, primarily designed for SAR and Mobile Logistics Support, and three P-3C reconnaissance versions, each boasting an impressive average flight potential of 17,000 flight hours, ensuring operational service for at least 15 years. It is noteworthy that the entirety of this acquisition, including the P-3 aircraft and associated systems, will be financed through the National Defense Fund (FONDEF).
