// what a bleak day
// I've donated some money to abortion funds and messaged my senators, and will now be trying to fill this vague anxious void with midi dresses I window-shop for online, I guess

What I will say is this: abortion is good and necessary but the fact so many of them are happening reveals a huge problem with irresponsible and sexually coercive men. And I think that gets buried in the discourse over whether women should even be allowed to have abortions. Personally I think the laws should be on mandating condom use for men. It wouldn't stop all sexual coercion resulting in pregnancy, but it might stop some. And it would be nice to see men squirm and whine about it, tears in their eyes, crying "my freedom! my body, my choice!"

here is the question, the question is "would your muse consciously decide to let go of someone (a stranger)'s hand, if that someone slipped over the edge of a building/cliff/etc, and if they did not let go, they'd both go over the edge together?" would you muse let go if the options were 'we both die' or 'just one'. that's the question

13 years-old girls are forced to give birth to their rapist babies but yeah Biden made America great again.
Lol what are you smoking tonight that made you send me this?
Go complain to the GOP about the abortion laws, it’s their fault.

I want to highlight an amazingly inspirational person who has done work on the intersection of bodily autonomy- specifically abortion- and race. She said something recently about how it is absurd and short sighted for Justice Alito to claim that the framers of the 14 amendment had never considered the involuntary servitude of reproductive coercion when they drafted and passed the amendment. And it is absurd, in part, because the abolitionist who championed the passage of the 13th and 14th amendments, Charles Sumner, was nearly canned to death on the Senate floor *because* he had given a speech a day prior about the rape and reproductive coercion black women and girls faced while enslaved. The framers were well aware of the reproductive coercion inherent to chattel slavery.
Dr. Michele Bratcher Goodwin is the author of Policing the Womb: Invisible Women and the Criminalization of Motherhood and the Atlantic article, “The New Jane Crow.”
I recommend you check out her work.

I’m curious: if you could create 1 law, what would it be (and it automatically becomes law, so you don’t have to worry about trying to make it acceptable enough to both sides to get enough votes, it just is now a law)? Personally I would make it so CEOs and other executives and the like (really anyone) can’t make more (including bonuses and stuff) than like 25 times the least paid employee, obviously adjusted to an hourly rate, assuming the standard 40 hour work week. Obviously there are other things I would also like to be laws (I.e. reproductive rights, transgender rights, disability rights, etc) but I think if I had to pick only 1, it would be limiting the wage gap between bosses and their employees.
Honestly? While I'm obviously a big supporter of your idea, we'll assume that you've made that one already and I should do something else, which is: Abortions are legal in all 50 states by formalized law and not just SCOTUS precedent, with no restrictions and no clinic/practitioner harassment tolerated, and they can't change any part of this setup without actual popular consensus (i.e. 2/3 vote in a referendum). This is because reproductive rights are under such total attack, are related to an overall agenda of undoing every bit of social/legal/financial progress women have made since the 1960s (the fascists are going after no-fault divorces next, because of course they are), and represent a broad spectrum of other concerns about gender equality, bodily autonomy, and personal freedom. So yeah, I'm going with that one.

My mom: *telling me how she's only done what's best for her kids*
Me: *reminds her of a time when she absolutely did the worst for us because it benefitted her more than not doing it would have*
My mom: You have such a creative memory! Wow! You're gaslighting me! This is abuse!
#parental abuse#abuse#bad parenting#bad parent#trauma#childhood trauma#literally this started because she refuses to remember that she sold my water bed for crack money#like. that was the only bed I've ever had that didn't make my back hurt while i slept.#and she sold it. for crack.#and she's all bullshit that never happened!#and so i ask her about like two other shitty things she did and never apologized for#and she pulls out her new favorite word - gaslighting - which she learned from some dumbfuck tv show she's been watching#but when i ask her if she even knows what that means she goes see that's gaslighting!#like. no. gaslighting is telling me things i (and my siblings!!) have a vivid memory of never happened.#trying to act like i have no business being mad at her is#acting as if I'm being dramatic. that my childhood was normal. that not having food or power and living in a crack hoise is average.#i cannot wait to get out of here in december. only 18 long weeks to go!#if i ever have to live with her again I'll kill myself. these two years have been worse for my mental health than anything ever.#I'm a whole ass adult yet I'm not allowed to so much as leave the house without her demanding to know where I'm going.#i have to lie to her if I'm going to see my bald dude (rare. but if it happens) or else she gets pissed at me for seeing people???#but if i say I'm visiting friends (not entirely a lie) she'll accuse me of going and doing gay shit?#because apparently being queer is the worst thing your kid can be in her mind#that i haven't kicked the shit out of her has to be some sort of testament to my patience as a person right?

gabriel being able to just fuck off with beelzebub bc neither of them actually gave a shit about the world beyond their own self-interests makes complete and total sense as to why ineffable bureaucracy became So canon So quickly, but fuck does it make me even angrier that they got that happy ending while aziraphale and crowley were left in shambles. motherfucking gabriel and beelzebub are two of the REASONS that aziraphale and crowley CAN'T FUCKING COMMUNICATE and they just swan off into the sunset???? they tried to KILL them last season, then aziraphale & crowley spent this entire season helping them survive to get back to each other, and neither gabriel nor beelzebub acknowledged it in a meaningful, more-than-one-off way?????? hand me a brick i will take care of this myself
