Something about having a paladin Tav who takes an oath of vengeance and find themselves in a situation where this little vampire spawn is looking for revenge against his master… And falling in love along the way regardless of their morals, still striving to do the objectively right thing to do.

Then the time comes when he can ascend and just, freezing. Not being able to stop him, as he states this is what would truly make him happy. And then breaking their oath in the process. Giving everything they had, down to who they are as a person to him. Delving deeper in the darkness and becoming his vampire spawn because “isn’t this what you wanted? To be mine forever?”

And then just to put the cherry on top, after regaining their sense and trying to break up with this evil vampire just to be told that their future isn’t theirs anymore is just so heartbreaking. But they got what they wanted, didn’t they?
