i know all the characters are really going through it rn, not least of all ayan, but damn. poor akk just got the fucking world ripped out from under him.
imagine being akk, the hand-picked head prefect tasked with keeping the whole school on the straight and narrow until one day this one, singular boy comes in and accidentally trips over the last thread you're hanging your entire life on.
you deny your attraction to him for a while because you have your own shit to deal with and you figure all of his flirtatious antics are just to get you riled up, but you finally—finally—get together with him.
. . .after finding out he knows you were behind some very illegal and dangerous things and is threatening you to reveal yourself before he does it for you (though you doubt he'd actually follow through, because obviously he wouldn't do that to you—right?).
but then. THEN. you find out that someone else has started doing said illegal and dangerous things in your stead while you're still getting the credit from the teacher you idolize (which you have mixed feelings about at best).
and then you get called out in front of your entire class for being a piss-poor prefect and a disappointment to everyone around you, and you realize maybe you aren't holding things together as well as you thought you were.
and then said teacher you idolize scolds you within an inch of your life and throws everything you could possibly be worried about in your face while reiterating how much of a disappointment you are.
and then your boyfriend finds you on the roof and—while telling you how worried he is that you'll kill yourself from all the pressure—finally tells you why he came to your school in the first place, and you realize you'd rather still be in the dark then find out your favorite teacher and the only one who ever had your best interests at heart didn't quit like you'd initially thought, but that he killed himself.
and as if that wasn't already bad enough, your boyfriend tells you that he suspects the teacher you idolize (that just got done scolding you for all that you're worth (which, in said teacher's opinion, is absolutely nothing)) is behind his uncle's death.
jesus christ, someone please give this poor boy a blanket and some therapy

I love mermaids and couldn't resist making SAMS mer content! Here's Lunars mer design!
He has bright blue bioluminescent markings along his back, arms and tail and Moon is teaching him how to communicate with them. The hood on his head is actually a weird fin deformity that doesn't really serve a purpose, but Lunar hides his face in it when embarrassed. The red ribbons on his wrists were a gift given to him by Sun and Moon when he started living with them on the reef and are some of his most prized possessions!
He's teetering on the edge of adulthood but he's still very much a pup and is loving his newfound freedom to do what he wants with his older brothers watching over him.
