a/n: hmm, y/n seems to be getting closer with lando… but with daniel as well, and charles is also single again… i wonder what will happen next 👀

on a more serious note though, i unfortunately have to postpone part 7 until somewhere between christmas/new year’s eve… i’m going on a trip abroad to visit family for the holidays and i really tried to get part 7 ready in time but alas. we can all blame tumblr’s annoying policy of not allowing 10+ images on the app. anyways, i do have a finished request lined up, so i’ll post that next week instead :)

I recently read two fics that involve catfishing, how to fall in love with a catfish: a guide by wei wuxian (disaster rat) by bwyn, Yuisaki & we'll get him falling for a stranger (or a catfish) by sweetlolixoand I'm hooked! I'll definitely recommend them to everyone!

3. ITMF: I'm very, very picky about modern aus but figured I'd give it a try. I want a modern au where they're already adults, it's angsty, and they're in character. My fave is when the angst kind of mirrors canonverse (ie WWX being "disowned," framed for something or disappearing, miscommunication, whatever so long as it isn't kind of just random melodrama) but I'll also just accept if the angst is in a breaking up -> getting back together/exes to lovers arc. Sorry if this is too picky!

Hello you lovely folks!! A little update from me, after going AWOL for a little while 🙈 I am finally on my way back home from my UK road trip, which was only 12 days but felt like three weeks at the very least... We did SO much, and it was all incredible, and I consider myself a seriously blessed girl 💖

A quick recap, just because: we flew to Liverpool, rented a car there the next day and drove to Wales, saw incredible castles, beaches & mountains and met unbelievably lovely people (and stopped by the village with one of the longest names in the world, in Anglesey, see above pic). Then we spent some time reconnecting with the city in South Wales where we all met each other during an exchange semester 12 years ago (it was strange to be back there, but also really wonderful), before driving to England, where we stayed at THE most picture-perfect cottage in the Cotswolds. This wasn't my first time in the Cotswolds, but this time around we managed to tour so many of the amazingly cute & pretty villages, and on top of that, the weather was absolutely stunning ☀️✨️🥰

After that, we drove on to Oxford (my fave city in the UK, hands down ❤️) where we all also lived for some time about a decade ago, and then finally, we headed to London. I got to see a lot of old friends, art exhibitions, a musical (Moulin Rouge! so much fun), picnicked on Hampstead Heath, and - most importantly - I saw my favourite band of all time, Arctic Monkeys, perform again for the 7th time and they were absolutely INCREDIBLE 😍 So of course, when I walked out of the stadium, I turned to my friends and was like "You know what I want?" And they were like "Yes, we'll come with you to get an AM tattoo" (they know me too well 😂) So I dropped by a tattoo parlour the next day and got myself a cheeky little tribute to my fave song of my fave band and I could not be happier with it 🥰🥰 (pic under the cut, if anyone's interested)

So! That was my amazingly fantastic vacation which I enjoyed the crap out of, and I'm sure I'll be spamming you all with some pics over the next few days because oh man, I took so many photos 😅 Not super thrilled to be back at work tomorrow, but I am excited to be able to spend time on here and on my writing again!! (and reply to some messages, long overdue, sorry about that!)

Agreed, his filmography is filled with so many treasures. The Producers has been on my watchlist for several months and I've not gotten around to seeing it yet. I'm savoring his films because I typically binge watch actors' filmographies, but I want to take my time with Gene's🥺 I have a feeling that Leo Bloom is going to become a favorite of mine. I've heard mixed reviews about The Woman in Red and I'm not sure it's a film I'd be interested in seeing, though I'm sure Gene does a wonderful job as usual. Toys r Us was in its prime in the late 90s/early 2000s- and, typically those types of stores aren't really touched by bandits/raiders because there aren't any objects worth salvaging. So for the most part, toy stores are left as time capsules of the bygone era.

So, of course, what's better than bringing your tiny one to a toy store??

Joel makes sure the area is safe from infected or other creatures that might be laying dormant ahead of time. When that's all good, Joel brings Ellie there and lets her explore♡

She runs her hands over the sparkly fabrics of princess dresses, her eyes as wide as saucers at all the fun toys that were in existence!

Ellie definitely loves the hands on toys, like lego (you can build anything you want!! How cool is that!!) or action figures (especially the ones that are characters from her fave comic!! She clutches that figure close to her chest, babbling to Joel about the character and all the fun stuff that character does in the comics!)

She also likes the softer toys, the plush animals that cover a whole isle ;w; she holds onto the paw of one of the teddy bears- the bear is a navy blue and embroidered with beautiful stars and constellations!💖 aaaa

Joel definitely opens up one of the easy kiddo boardgames (like Snakes n' Ladders, Trouble etc) so the two can play (aka: Joel lets Ellie win because seeing her grin and hearing her giggles is a win enough for Joel♡)

11. What do Javi and Osita admire the most about each other?

Javi: He honestly admires everything about her- Her independence, her compassion, her strength, her humor, she is truly unlike anyone else he's ever met and he loves everything that makes her the person that she is. While he obviously thinks that she is physically beautiful, he thinks that her personality is the most beautiful thing about her 😭

Osita: She loves how caring and compassionate Javi is. She's never had anyone treat her the way that Javi does, and the fact that he is so thoughtful and kind to her makes her heart melt into a million pieces. She also loves the fact that he's brave and headstrong (even if it means they butt heads because these two are stubborn peas in a pod) 🥺

22. How does the other know that they're horny/want to have sex?

Javi: He can tell Osita's in the mood whenever he catches her trying to sneak glances at him while he's not looking, and then is just smirking around the house. She'll be walking around trying to hide it, and when Javi asks what's got her smiling like that, she'll try and shrug and be like "I don't know what you're talking about", even though they both know damn well what's got her all giddy.

Osita: As if Javi wasn't already the most handsy man alive, when he's horny his hands are ALL over her- he is like a magnet, constantly touching her whenever he can not only because he loves it, but because he knows how riled up it gets her, too 🤪

2. What's my favorite drabble from the NTL universe?

Either Take Me Home (where Javi picks up Osita from a girls night out at the bar and she's hammered) because I think it shows the dynamic of their relationship so well (and it makes me laugh), or You're My Home (Osita and Javi fight all week and it blows up in their faces, until Osita realizes Javi is so worried from things happening at work and has a panic attack and she calms him down) because I feel like it's the most real and raw- we get so much cute and happy Osita and Javi that it was kind of refreshing to write something that was angsty bc even our two faves aren't perfect 🥹

What do I picture Osita looking like?

Okay so DISCLAIMER, Osita went from a self insert character to an OFC real quick, but if you prefer reading Osita as yourself, please please do!!! 😊 That being said, this is what I picture Osita looking like in my head (as if she couldn't get anymore self indulgent lmaooooo)

oh wow everyone is nailing it with these, you are so, so correct!!!!

My inability to get rid of things I have emotional attachments to definitely applies to books, here is an incomplete list of books I will likely never even read or reread but also will never be able to give away:

My Gregor the Overlander books!! I knew Suzanne Collins mostly from these books and when Hunger Games came out/became popular I tried to tell all my friends about this series because I loved it so much when I was 10-12 years old!! And my first internet name was "Boots" because of the younger sister in that book, I loved her so much. And I don't see myself rereading them anytime soon but I have so many fond memories of absolutely devouring and rererererereading them as a preteen so they will stay forever!

"Die Geschwister Apraksin" by Karla Schneider, this was also one of my fave books when I was around 12-13, I don't remember much, except that it was about 5 orphaned siblings during or after the Russian revolution, and it absolutely broke my heart and I cried more than I had ever cried before when reading a book. I don't even think it was a particularly sad book, I think it just made me very emotional for some reason, to imagine these kids' lives and their struggles. And I read it as part of my local bookstore's initiative where they let kids borrow and read the advanced reader copies of books, and then we wrote little reviews that would get posted on a pinboard at the store. So when I had to give the book back (in order to borrow a new book, it was like a little library system within the bookstore), I immediately asked the bookseller if they had the book in stock because I wanted to buy it with my pocket money, but they only had the paperback and (again) I had gotten so attached to the hardback one and the bookseller could tell how much the book meant to me so she just gifted me the copy I had just returned, the one I read, and that meant so much to me, to get to keep the physical copy that I actually read and not have to buy a new version.

Herzen, Hände und Stimmen by Ian McDonald - I have never read this book, idek what it's about but from the book cover I assume it's scifi. I did an exchange semester in France as a teenager, and my host family didn't speak any german but somehow they got this random (thrifted) german book and they gave it to me bc I speak german. And I've never been that much into scifi but the gesture was so sweet and I have so many nice memories of my time with them, so even though I will probably never read that book I will also never give it away.

A complete translation from Vergils Aeneid with the latin and german text side by side. I did Latin in school, and for our final exams we all had to pick one specialized subject we would have an oral exam on, and my specialized subject in Latin class was the 6th book of the Aeneid, so even though I barely remember any Latin and will definitely not reread that for fun, I enjoyed it back in the day and will never get rid of that book.

I have a book on erotic dream interpretation, idk if that fully counts into this category, but my friend and I saw it when my uni library (!!) had a thrift sale of their old books, and that book was so hilarious, I had to get it and then for a while whenever I had people come over to my flat to pregame I would ask them about their dreams and would then very professionally interpret them with my book. This one might not fully count bc I'm not ruling out that I will never do that again but I haven't looked at it in a long time but would never get rid of it because it's too iconic haha
