You do not remember the second war, of course; it began after you closed your eyes, lost in a spell and darkness. So naturally, you cannot remember Kris, because you do not know them -- oh, you do not know them, but you want to. After all, isn't it strange? You hear their name so often from those who fought in Prince Marth's army, but never anywhere else.
It is, as it has always been, Minerva who inspires the greatest curiosity within you; you know her heart is not closed, but still it is brambled with hidden gates -- when she gives her trust, it is always exactingly placed, and especially so after... ...but the others think well of him, too! And the few times you see Prince Marth in the after, he comes with a moon in his orbit, a star in his sky: ever present, you're sure, but sometimes lost and not found again until you squint your eyes.
And then! And then you come to Fodlan, you make new friends and reconnect with old, but still, you hardly ever meet him more than just in passing. You think he mustn't ever think of you, the unnoteworthy little sister of a hero and a villain, and you think that for some time still after a box of candy arrives on your birthday, sat quietly at your door. Yes, you think, and you think, and you think, gifts given and hunches come and gone in the interim, but by the time your third birthday comes in this faraway land, you have already known that simply isn't true.
To you, his kindnesses are quiet, like unto the seeds of trees planted by weary travelers: its shade, its splendor, the affection with which it grows -- all things that blossom in his wake, long after he is gone.
