While I was down there I moved all of the photo stuff to the photo taking spot. I have a few different tripods, for example.
The NEX5 is still upstairs, though, since that’s where I generally leave it. It SORT of has A Place and it stays there for now. I might try to understand the camera again. Maybe. It’s all numbers, though, and I can’t do numbers. That’s why I use auto mode on my phone most of the time.
The rest of that room is sloppy storage which could use some work.
I found food bars that expired in 2014 in there just now...
That Guy went through a prepper phase when he was working with a couple guys that were also going through a prepper phase and it was silly, of course. A lot of wasted money and long-shelf-life food that has long since expired and been purged.
Which I only mention because that storage situation does mean I don’t have access to most of the power outlets (all of the lights are on one plug on a power strip rn...) nor do I have room to set up storage or really staging for photos. That’s the best room for consistent lighting, though, because it’s the only basement room with no windows.
I also realized it’s not nearly as messy out in my jacked up display area as it seems. It’s just that everything is in stations on the floor instead of neatly displayed on the shelves because I’m trying to get myself to let go of it all because I need to. The biggest contributor to looking messy was hoarded cardboard boxes, of which I got rid of a ton a couple weeks ago.
Everything still needs a good clean, and I need to reapply the backing to one of the book cases because it popped off.

Scanned using "Shoebox Scanner Mark ii" , a crude "scanner" made from a cardboard box, an old I pad, a sheet of discarded glass and wife's nex5 camera with kit lens (hand held)

..... That photography post just reminded me that I THINK I actually bought the $25 AC adapter for my NEX5 and it’s........ it’s in a box somewhere...... forgotten.... (Amazon says it was delivered Oct 2021....)
Still can’t really use it to take pony pics without a remote clicker, though, because my tripod sucks and I move the camera every time I click the button.
Also-also hate trying to use the NEX for that kind of thing because I have to completely remove it from the tripod to get to the memory card, which means moving the tripod, and that messes up my camera position anyway.
Tripod’s ring light mount ball thing keeps letting go and sliding around, too.
Too much hassle for something my shitty old iPhone does well enough on auto.
