Leverage Log: The Blue Line Job

I read the name of this episode and let me say in advance, the reference to a (thin?) blue line immediately after an episode where the villain referenced 9/11 has me significantly worried about this show's direction. --- Oh its an episode about how one of america's 4 favourite pasttimes (hockey, baseball, Handegg and WWE) is legitimately bad for the participants brains due to the repeated concussions. (note: That description covers 3 of the four. Only baseball is not a contact sport) Im gonna be honest, i don't know how this ties into the Blue Line, but its an important message that US audiences need to be more aware of. --- So we have extreme electromagnets getting seeded, and Parker is starting to get the psychological profiling references (in creepy Cold War ways)

Everyone gets really confused for a sec when Sophie turns out to know a lot about hockey. (turns out she stole the Stanley Cup. Not to be confused with the shitty Stanley Cups that for some reason became FOMO Fashion last year.) --- Ok, if you are ever in the same room as any of these people: Dont eat, Dont drink dont even breathe. --- Cheating the guy with magnets. Anticlimactic use of them tbh. --- Elliot is loving it on the ice. I wonder what its like for an actor being told they have to suddenly learn how to do fightscenes on ice. --- Guys been putting a hit out on his own man to prevent having to pay his bonus. (by which i mean paying people to start fights with him, to avoid paying a bonus which prerequisites him fighting every game of the season. Its a terrible plan for avoiding the payout. Unless he dies but the bribes are not hitmen level of money for murder.) --- Nate is really frustrated that Sophie apparently lost the stanley cup. (not in the "lost the tournament" sense, but in the "lost the trophy".) --- Elliot decides to cut the knot: Just tell the guy his medical paperwork is being rigged and that he's dying of brainbash. Unfortunately it seems he knows and is trying to do it for his kid. --- Ok so it turns out that Sophie's old partner is a Celebrity Cameo. (Im not american and i dont like sports so i dont know shit about this guy) --- Ok so Sophie is pretending to be an eccentric billionaire (with a turtle) --- Oh Clients Dad just attacked Elliot? "you dont know anything about me" *proceeds to diagnose* Elliot keeps trying the "convince him not to kill himself" play (a respectable play) but it just doesnt work. --- OMG he just counterconned them by accident? "I know the industry, you guys are the bigger fish. Im out, feel free to buy my company if you want it" Im fairly certain this might be the one case where the downturn wasnt a part of the con. Honestly, amazing on the writers to have this such a natural way for the con to fall apart. "oops Hardison's too good at his job" --- Ok, so goodbye to Cameoman, it was nice to see him and nate not have a dick-measuring contest over Sophie's affections. (I was worried it was gonna be one of those jealousy episodes) --- Final game just started and Elliot is tackling white-shirts like there's no tomorrow. Cant actually see what he's saying to them but I suspect he's going into step 2 of his plan: If Clients Dad wont get off the ice, warn everyone else he's got a bad case of "the Dyings". Honestly, Elliot is great at just cutting through the complexities. None of this treasurehunt nonsense just tell them. --- Elliot is taken out of the game and put on the bench. --- Dad tries to start a fight but it seems im right, Elliot has just been playing the simple game of: trust humans not to want to murder a guy. Return of the electromagnets. (good, puck-tricking was boring). Remember, checkov's gun can be loaded with more then a single bullet --- Sophie still doesn't know where the cup is. (and I still dont know where the blue line is)

talking about Thomas is one of my favourite pasttime lately, so you will, only it may take some time because, while Pamuk is pretty easy the whole O'Brien/Jimmy incident takes more episodes and it's more (not that it takes a lot to be more) subtle.

But yeah, Thomas is such a gullible individual and easy to manipulate at times as if there is a pattern, if you take into consideration the black market fiasco or the conversion therapy as well. It doesn't of course absolve him of his own acts, but I think it's interesting aspect of his personality.

I also don't think it makes him stupid, because Thomas is at his most gullible when his emotions run high or he's desperate. Perfectly human.

So, yes, but it may take some time.

I've been having the Thomas/Duke post in my mind since early June, tbh.

Dating Jungkook

How does the character spend weekends?

Mostly just sleeping? Sleeping, shooting, and exploring forest-y areas with lots of trees. Quiet weekends are his favourite weekends.

What kind of movies does the character watch?

Disney films, my god, this guy loves Disney films. He always cries over the sad parts, and knows all the songs by heart. (His favourite Disney song is “Make a Man Out of You” from Mulan, bc it makes excellent colours!)

What do they do with friends?

Eating, as in big sharing/buffet-style meals; going for long hikes in quiet places; hanging out with minimal chatter, each doing their own things; and napping in big cuddle-piles.

What’s their favourite pasttime?

Probably exploring; Echo gets some serious wanderlust sometimes, and he loves nothing more than somewhere new to amble around.

What’s their favourite TV show/Film?

Favourite film: Either Mulan, and The Aristocats.Favourite TV show: A Ukrainian crime show called “Nyukhach”, or “The Sniffer”; it’s about a detective with an unusually powerful sense of smell. (I watched the trailer for it and tbh I might end up watching the whole thing, it seems kinda cool!)

Dude, like…so many. Evergreens include the Fallout, Dragon Age & Elder Scrolls Series, but it really depends on what I want at the moment. 

For example, if I want some great Horror nothing beats Silent Hill 2 & 3, and trotting across Skyrim for hours picking flowers is like lemon balm for my soul. 

Non-franchise favourites include Deadly Premonition, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines and Journey, for example

I LOVE READING! I used to spend my school breaks at the library (like some kind of nerd) and I’m actually going to start studying English Literature at my local university next week. Or, try to at least lmao. Can’t wait to get to Shakespeare, lord of dick jokes

I love all kinds of books, I recently picked up Harry Potter again. But really my taste is super mixed - I’ve been reading a lot of non-fiction about the middle ages, I re-read books like Battle Royale, Perfume, Interview with the Vampire… I could go on 

The book that will always touch my heart though is The Neverending Story by Michael Ende. And I mean the book. This is one of those few stories where the medium it’s told in is really really essential tbh. It’s the story that made me pull my first all-nighter when I was, like, 11.

Sparkling Water : Describe what qualities you look for in a person

Most important to me are things like kindness. Empathy. The fastest way to make me dislike you is by showing that you think cruelty towards strangers, for whatever reason, is funny. Like talking shit about someone’s appearance behind their back, or making fun of their interests just because you think they’re “weird” and therefore it’s okay to ostracize them.

Like, I don’t have to think every fashion choice is pretty. Or every hobby is super interesting. But it takes literally $0 to let people enjoy themselves and feel comfortable in their body & lives. (As long as their lifestyle choices don’t harm anyone else of course. As in, if your hobby is “beating up black people” or something you can fuck right off)

I couldn’t care less if someone dresses “cringey” or their favourite pasttime is reading about the fossilization of insects, or beekeeping, or cat grooming or what have you, as long as they are kind, considerate people.

Akashi Seijuro

Akashi probably didn’t have much of a fun childhood because his father placed so many expectations on him from a young age.

When the other kids were playing outside, he was practicing his violin or doing extra lessons.

He probably really yearned for normal things like going camping or going to the amusement park, but he didn’t have that kind of luxury.

He was also a really polite kid because he had etiquette lessons at that age like adults were always so impressed and would praise him.

As a kid, he wore brand named everything. His diapers were probably brand name, haha.

Midorima Shintaro

This kid, I swear, he was a smart ass from the start. He’d surprise adults from time to time because he’d be all “I already know Santa isn’t real” or “I know my parents leave money when I lose my teeth.”

Kid!Midorima preferred staying indoors and reading rather than going out to play. He didn’t like getting muddy or dusty.

The stingiest kid ever when it came to money. He saved everything that he ever got as a kid in a little piggybank and had his parents make him a bank account.

Since he’s the oldest kid, he took care of his sisters a lot when they were all younger. He would always hold their hands and take them to get ice cream. And if they really, really wanted to go out to the park, he’d go with them.

Kise Ryota

Omg, he was so beautiful even as a kid. You’d think that he was a baby model tbh

He had a pretty normal childhood filled with a lot of fun. Like, his family probably went camping or on vacations once in a while.

Definitely followed his sisters around a lot because he looked up to them. Even if they dressed him up in their clothes.

Kise totally loved going out to play with his friends. It was so easy for him to make friends at the playground and they’d just all play together until the sunset. 

Aomine Daiki

Definitely a wild child omg

He literally spent 90% of his childhood outside. Like, he would wake up at 8 and after breakfast, he’s out the door and he won’t come home until the sun sets. 

Well-mannered, but he was that joker in class that made everyone laugh. He had a lot of friends and they’d always play some sort of sport if it wasn’t basketball.

Omg his mom would get so mad because “Daiki, I literally washed that shirt yesterday” and how are your running shoes already torn we bought those last month omg

He was such a smiley kid with a heart of gold.

Murasakibara Atsushi

Not much has changed except he just got taller tbh he ate so much as a kid, and he still eats a lot of snacks.

He followed his mom out to the market a lot because he really enjoyed that. Plus, it was the perfect chance to discover new types of snacks.

Probably had a dog so he would play with his dog a lot and they’d go out on walks. He got in trouble for trying to share his snacks with his doggy.

Other kids were scared of him, but then they’d find out he’s just tall and harmless and would warm up to him right away.

Kuroko Tetsuya

Quietest kid ever, like was he there all along? Mastered the art of masking his presence at a young age.

But he wasn’t that quiet like he is now. He was well-mannered, polite, and calm as a kid so his parents never worried about taking him places. Other parents would be envious about how calm Kuroko was compared to their kids, haha.

He would go out to hang out with that those few neighbourhood kids he became super close with (Shigehiro ehehe)

He was such a good helper at home. Always there to set the table, cleaning up his messes before his parents ever said anything. He would try to carry the heavy groceries because he wanted to help his mom because mom this is too heavy let me do this and she probably found that so cute.

Takao Kazunari

You thought Aomine was a wild child? Takao was wild child #2. Totally the class clown that probably got in trouble once in a while

He was super active as a kid too, going out with his friends to play on the playground or going over to a friend’s house to play video games.

Such a friendly kid though, he could make anyone and everyone laugh, and could charm everyone with his outgoing personality.

Despite that, he was a good kid. He helped out as much as he could, where he could. Like, as one of the older kids in his family, he took pride in that and would help his parents and take care of his siblings.

Going to the amusement park and going on all the fun rides were and still are his favourite pasttime. Omg, he was so excited when he grew tall enough to ride certain rides like omg he was waiting for that moment for so long. He would ask his mom to measure him all the time until he finally grew tall enough.
