Okay, but can we talk about how this season had the MOST solid teams? For a season that started episode 1 with barely any concrete alliances, by the end of the season, almost every team was in ride-or-die mode to an extent that we usually only see from one or two factions at most in other seasons.

cletho enjoyers have been having a field day over here with cleo and etho’s run at painting the town and grian was the only one who listened to etho when he said that they were outnumberedd and outgunned and sacrificed himself with the intent to get gem into manageable territory for everyone else.

the mounders went into the last battle together and joel and bdubs died in the same fight, barely blocks from each other. pearl, who’d spent the entire last episode telling the boys not to die on her and offering they kill her when she got low, was the last survivor and was Very Not Okay with it.

the heart foundation was a bit funny, cuz bigb was always one foot out the door, so his ‘do you have an alliance/ ehhhh’ while they lived was fairly on brand, but tango betrayed scar and walked knowingly into his death with him because he wouldn’t betray skizz.

gem and the scotts were, of course, ride or die from day one. even with scott doing his social gaming and gem’s apocalypse, scott and impulse both gave her their yellow lives and scott gave her his red as well.

and even, in the end, scar, who’d gotten genuine offers of alliance from 3/4 of the factions and denied them all for one reason or another, still ended up teaming with pearl at the end and managed a heartbreaking final fight.

Headcanons about Macaque with an S/O who does shadow puppets with their hands to make him laugh? Like they spot him in his shadow form and make shapes as close to him as they can without interfering with him. Things like "Watch out sugarplum! A hawk is attacking!" "This shadow dog is gonna sniff out the sweetest monkey in the world. Look at that, they found him!" "Heheh it's my honey with a bunny. If I had free hands I'd take a picture." I just need some fluff lol

- THIS IS SO SWEET!? WHAT!?

- Macaque is a very broody individual but with good reason, and I imagine that someone like him doesn't exactly laugh a lot unless he's teasing an enemy or mocking them and rubbing it in their faces.

- So when you're researching on Wikihow to make the best damn shadow puppets ever to give him a bit of joy! But you were also semi-terrified to do it because what if he got annoyed by it or thought it was weird?

- And it took a while but eventually you got the hang of it! So now time to show off your skills to your beloved Macaque!

- He rarely becomes a shadow with you, unless he's planning to playfully startle you or he's too far away so he sends his shadow to talk to you to cheer him up and keep you company. So for whatever reason, he slips underneath the tiny space underneath the floor and your door to your room, which you kept dimly lit for him but he inspected the room and you weren't anywhere in sight.

- "Look out, here comes the love bunny!"

- And he sees next to him is just a shadow puppets of a bunny. When he looks around again, you're sitting on your bed with your hands in front of your bedroom lamp.

- "I love you!" You said, making a funny voice for your "love bunny" and Macaque just kinda stares at you (at least you think he is, its hard to tell when he's in that form) and you get worried that he found this dumb but then a smile blooms on his face.

- "The love bunny had me worried for a second. I didn't see you right away."

- "I, well, I wanted to surprise you! Which...sounds really lame now that I said that outloud-"

- He is very quick to assure you that he finds it cute, which gives you a confidence boost.

- "Another reason I was hiding was because of the hawk."

- "What hawk-"

- And then you loudly and dramatically scream: "CAW! CAW!" as you turn your love bunny into a hawk. He chuckles at the sight, "Hey, that was pretty good! You must've really been practicing."

- You entertain him with little shows, now. He also finds it endearing how you always make sure that your shadow puppets never get too close to him but also, how you let him interact with him.

- Like a little shadow bunny walks up to him and he gently "pets" it and you make it's ears wiggle in happiness as you say in your little rabbit voice, "YAY!"

- You make elephants who trumpets happily and swings its trunk around. You create a sneaky panther. And you know how to apply his sense of comedy whether it be a corny lovey-dovey joke or a super dark one (there is no in between for him), he's absolutely loving this.

- When he shows up in person, whether he was handling business or something, he absolutely will give you the same welcome home cuddles but now he wants to help you with your shadow puppets or sit next to you as you two make your own little skits or you're both trying to make a super complex shadow animal.

- Like you're sitting on his lap, your hands interlocked but never too far from one another, and sometimes if you have your arms raised for a shadow puppet thing, HE WILL TAKE THAT OPPURTUNITY TO TICKLE YOU EVEN THOUGH HE KNOWS YOU HATE IT.

- Overall, he loves this and he loves you so much. Like, you're the absolute light of his life and he literally looks forward to your little shadow plays and funny moments and sometimes he'll become a shadow on the wall and mess around with them too, and you're always more than happy to make him be the star of the show!
