Mystictober 2022 | Day 10 - Camera
Summary: After a storm comes a rainbow; it fits them both very well.
Together they learn to appreciate their hobbies in new light.
─────◇◇◇★◇◇◇─────
They're still getting used to the functions that the new cameras brought with them; it's bizarre for Saeran to watch the one being professional in photography sturggle with some settings.
“Is it hard, V?” He wondered as he titled his head, soft bleached hair falling over his forehead more.
The older guardian raised his left hand to angel the camera's display better. “Ah, I wouldn't say hard,” A click filled the open air. “It's just.. I have to admit the touchscreen is something I haven't worked with yet.”
He mumbled, sunlight coloring his minty hair slightly more blueish in Saeran's eyes. Scanning his own camera between his hands, he let the stare wander over the sea of buttons and wheels. He couldn't deny it's overwhelming to hold more than his phone in order to capture the nature around them up in their secret place.
It had been Saeran's idea, although it came off more shy than desired. However, V immediately overflew with excitement when happiness crossed his facial features. Up there, with only the two of them after such draining events; it's surreal to the younger twin most of the time. But his friend never failed proving reality either way.
So when they stood in a wild field, overgrown by many apple trees and the sea of daisies under their feet, this doubt followed even as the white blossoms brushed his ankles. Luckily for him; V's right there next to him. Struggling with the camera just as much and he already felt better.
“Alright!” V smiled relieved. “I figured it out. You want me to show you?” Saeran's eyes blinked once the other looked over.
Why did it take so long to live such a trivial life? How come they all needed pure destruction before becoming aware what really mattered in the end? He's not better than them; neither are they supreme to him. It's giving and taking that went beyond everyone's control and left him, specifically, with a mark on his body.
The waving hand in front of his face pulled him back into reality. “Saeran? Are you okay?” He stared at him a moment longer, a smile following.
“Yes, sorry.” And also a little bit of blush crept over his cheeks when reaching out the camera to V. “Just spaced out. Please, show me what I have to do exactly.”
After a few steps; V started pointing to the different buttons on the left side. “This is for filters,” He explained depsite Saeran's silence responding. Could he tell by now it didn't explicitly meant confusion? How time passed by.
The young man focused on the explanations well and V held it back out. “Was it understable? Not too fast?”
Saeran shook his head in appreciation. “Not at all, I think I got the hang of it. Thanks.” V found himself chuckling, remembering that outstanding talent of the twins to learn faster than any other person he'd ever met.
“I'm glad then.” He lifted his own to the right eye, focusing through the lense and watching this enormous filed of nature the way he's used to.
Saeran initiated him somewhat; instead of just going for it though, he kneeled down. Thinking what the first thing should be to capture with his brand new device. The sky because it's his favorite? The flowers to perhaps make a book of flower languages one day? Or one of the tress in order to learn setting the focus correctly?
Attention drifted and he ended up gazing at V again; already observed in his element. It then sparkled the idea in the corner of Saeran's mind; had anyone ever taken a photo of V in his times where he's working out his job? He couldn't remember that to be the case.
V could feel something nagging at his bones soon enough. It made him look around to see if his paranoia's simply another leftover of the past. But no, it surprised him finding the lense of Saeran's camera being pointed at no other than him.
“What are you doing?” He wheezed out of breath and the young man peeked a quick glimpse over before hiding behind the screen again. “Capturing your commitment.”
Was his offer. “It would be a great reminder for me to know who you really are.” V's bright eyed widened, his heart pounding lightly due to the wamrth inside of it. How grateful he was.. could Saeran truly capture that?
Paying it no more mind, V also kneeled down to get his camera on his height. “Then let me return the favor.” It caught Saeran off guard and therefore the picture ended up showing his bright blush as he rose back up.
When V came over to show Saeran, they both couldn't help but laugh about his facial expression. So, so red. The younger twin showed his own photo and V's obviously impressed which boosted his confidence immensely. “I like this, V.”
Saeran chimed amazed, having the older one place one hand onto his shoulder. “If you find joy in taking photos, then what more is there to be happy about? I'm glad you like it. And thank you for trying it out with me, Saeran.”

Day 2: Garden
Ray found himself unable to look away from you in a garden of colorful lights and sounds. It didn't surprise him in the slightest. Why would he be surprised when he knew what you were? When he knew who you were? When he knew inside his heart that you were the first and last person he would ever come to love like this? You were the one for him.
He knew when you dashed ahead of him to laugh in his garden, twirling around in the rain. You sang with your heart and looked more alive than he ever had. He knew against every flower that was out there, you were the true beauty. It was a fact to him. It was his truth.
Nothing could take that away from him, much like nothing would ever remove you from his side.
There was not a single flower in this world that could stand a chance if it was placed against you. He imagined that there might be one that he could find… but the thought was left abandoned as he knew deep down that no flower could ever compliment you. You were the one that flowers could compliment, truly. It was a gift from God. They were meant to enhance your beauty and make you stand out.
Your body was the center with petals that surrounded your beautiful heart.
If there had ever been a more beautiful rose in this world, it was you. You were the one he admired and wanted to see in his garden. You were the centerpiece of the garden. You were the statement. You were the moment. You were the very peace that he wanted to admire every time he came outside to water the plants and greet his friends. His garden was his safe place but now that you were in it, it was Heaven on Earth.
With your beckoning hand calling him to join you in the garden, he paid no mind to the rain that poured down on his skin. He didn’t wince when it’s cold water had pierced his skin. He didn’t shiver or shudder in fear of being caught outside just before a vicious voice hissed at him to come back before he was killed by those unseeing and all-knowing figures. He simply held his head high and walked right to your side as if he were meant to be there.
He knew he was.
Nothing else was worthy of you.
You wanted him.
He wanted you.
“Ray!” you called as soon he reached your side, your arms thrown around his neck as you spun him around. You were too sweet to him... too kind to him. It was a blessing that he couldn’t refuse. Perhaps it was selfish, but he wanted it for himself. “See, I told you it wasn’t so bad. You can have fun even in the rain! It’s not like the sky is crying. It’s just cooling us down after a long day! It’s life to our flowers.”
“In our garden,” he said, eyes searching your face for your true feelings, “i see nothing but life for us together.”

to make some sense of what you've seen
Tumblr media
While I'm "officially" not doing Mystictober this year because of my schedule, I couldn't not share something for Saeyoung Prompt Day. Who would I even be if I didn't?
Day seven: Saeyoung/space. Saeyoung X CMC Eunji. Cw: gun
Tumblr media
The lights on the highway are bright as the stars overhead. Eunji rolls the passenger side window all the way down and laughs at the wind in her hair, grinning as he shoots her an indulgent look and shouts over the sound of the breeze and the music on the radio and the motor of his oldest, biggest car rumbling beneath them.
“Better hold my hand,” Saeyoung says, “or you’ll blow away.”
He’s teasing her but she takes him up on it anyway, grabbing the hand that’s not on the wheel and pressing each finger to her lips, smudging them red with her lipstick—one shade darker than his car.
It’s late and she’s a little drunk and she feels the music and the wind under her skin, shaking her soul to the rhythm of his driving. Long nights with friends leave her giddy, humming with energy, vibrating at the frequency of midnight. His eyes glimmer as he glances over, shaking his head as she takes his ring finger between her teeth.
“Be careful with me,” he says to her. “I’m sensitive.” His clever smile says the opposite, and Eunji wonders whether she can get him to pull over and kiss her senseless.
“I’ll be good to you, princess,” she sings, knowing Saeyoung loves to be spoken to this way. He reclaims his hand and runs it through his hair: a nervous habit (so she’s getting to him).
Headlights in the rearview mirror fill her vision with sunspots and one of his GPS devices hums to itself and Eunji curls up in her seat, tight dress digging into her sides as she twists into a pretzel.
It happens in a heartbeat. That’s always the way it is with him.
Saeyoung sits up straight in his seat. The car lurches beneath them and she’s knocked sideways as he cuts straight across the road, both hands on the wheel, eyes like ice. He comes to a sudden stop just off the shoulder in the shadow of the trees, and Eunji struggles to catch her breath.
If she didn’t know better, she’d think it’s all because he wants her. But there’s a fine line between danger and desire, and she knows from the look in his eyes that he’s scared.
“Get out of the car,” he says with a familiar cool, robotic calm. “We’re being followed.”
“Who…?” She slips her feet into her shoes, more confused than she is afraid. Saeyoung is on the ground already—throwing open her door—reaching into the glove compartment for the gun she’d secretly hoped he’d started leaving at home. He takes her arm and she scrambles down, keeping her mouth shut as he shoves her behind him. He inches forward, shielded from sight by the hood of his car, and for the first time she starts to feel frightened.
She didn’t think that they had any enemies left.
“Stay there,” he says, his voice still eerily soft. When he laughs, she hears chords and arpeggios; when he speaks like this, she hears drum beats—pauses—the pounding of her heart.
She stands perfectly still. When she was younger and stupider, she believed she was the sort of person who springs to action in a crisis. She knows, by now, that she goes silent instead.
Saeyoung raises the gun with a steady hand and she’s still hearing drums—no, her breath—no, the echoes of gunshots she tries her hardest not to remember. She wants to throw the man she loves back in his big, shiny car and pretend he never knew how to kill.
“Three,” he whispers. “Two…”
Headlights grow brighter, brighter, brighter. Tires sing on concrete. The night is cold.
“One.”
Saeyoung lowers his gun.
“They didn’t slow down,” Eunji says to his back. “Right?”
He doesn’t move a muscle, and she stares past him to the empty road, where the headlights have already dissolved into the distance.
“You can get back in the car,” he mutters. He’s putting on gentleness like a costume and it sits on him all wrong. “Give me a minute.”
That’s when she knows that they were never being followed after all.
“Would it be okay if I stay here instead?” She steps away from him, pretty shoes sinking into the grass, bare arms holding herself tight against the wind that felt so effervescent in her hair.
“Yeah,” he says. “Whatever you want.” He puts the safety on the gun and sets it on the hood of his car like a macabre trophy, staring ahead as if he still expects a stranger to appear in the darkness, watching for his next wrong move.
Eunji waits.
It’s been ages since the first time he cried on her shoulder, and months since he started sleeping by her side without waking to check the locks on the doors. It’s been days since he last reassured her that he’s not so scared of losing her anymore.
But the things that frighten him are big as the earth and small as the blades of grass she crushes beneath her shoes.
They’re broken glasses or a spoon falling to the floor; shadows and nighttime and worn down pencils; headlights going nowhere and a moment of happiness his heart doesn’t know how to handle.
“Sorry I scared you,” he says slowly. “I feel stupid that I was wrong.”
Now, he’ll let her hold him. She takes his hand again and presses her lips to his shoulder, parting his jacket with her cheek, laying her face to his chest, counting his pulse with her breath till it slows.
“The stars are bright tonight,” she tells him.
His hands are in her hair now.
“Take me somewhere,” he whispers.
He has all the stories, but she’s the one who knows how to sing a lullaby. She squeezes him tight from under his jacket, on the side of the road, in the shadow of the trees.
She talks about saturn. She describes shiny things spinning in the sky, and Saeyoung is still and silent as space.
“Thank you for protecting me,” he says—and he’s talking to the heavens, or the gun on the hood of his car, or the small woman with her cheek to his chest repeating the things he’s said to her a million times about the stars.
The wind blows, and bugs chirp in the trees. And in a couple of hours, it will be sunrise.

Mystictober 2022, day 1
Favorite character + first date.
GE Saeran x GN!Reader | 489 words.
Tumblr media
Saeran stood still for a second, eyes closed, the coldness of the wind hitting his face, helping him ease his nervousness. It wasn’t unusual for him to be nervous, but there was something special about the way he felt at that moment. He opened his eyes; in front of him was a blanket laying on the grass, a picnic basket sitting on top of it and different kinds of food and desserts laying on it, too.
Saeran had proposed for the both of you to have an official first date, since you haven’t had a chance to take a break since breaking out of Mint Eye and rescuing Saeyoung from V and Rika. So you decided on throwing a little picnic in a nice park, just the two of you, finally. He took a deep breath and opened his eyes as he heard a few footsteps approaching him. The white-haired man turned around, his lips curving into a smile as he saw you waving at him while getting closer.
“Hi!” your voice was the nicest of sounds to him. As heartwarming as the sun on his skin, as sweet as the desserts waiting to be devoured by the both of you.
“Hi, love.” He replied, his voice as soft as the feelings he had for you. He took your hand, guiding the both of you to sit down.
The both of you sat there, chatting and eating the food he had so carefully prepared, feeding each other in between sweet laughs and bites of strawberry filled vanilla cake. When the both of you finished up the majority of the food and fell quiet, Saeran couldn’t help but stare at the scene in front of him: you lying on the blanket, eyes closed, enjoying his company while the sun sets in front of you. As orange and pink hues bathed your body, Saeran couldn’t help but smile. When you opened your eyes and greeted his, you felt your face warming up.
“What?” you asked, a small giggle escaping from your lips.
He shook his head, “nothing,” he replied, “I’m just really happy to be here with you.”
You couldn’t help but smile as you sat up again, your face as close as possible to his, your noses brushing. “I’m happy you’re here, too.”
Saeran couldn’t help but blush too, having you so close to him. Even if you’ve known each other for quite a bit now, you always find a way to fluster him. He smiled tenderly as he placed a hand on your cheek, your skin burning up against his cold touch, leaning in to kiss you. Saeran felt like he was going to burst with emotions, all of them positive; that’s the impact you had on him.
When pulling apart, Saeran couldn't help but sigh, his heart so full of love. He couldn't wait to have a million more dates with you, and to spend your forever together.

Mystictober Day 1 - favourite character/first date
Tumblr media
Unknown/cmc Natasha Stakh (Mint Eye ver.)
Author's note: Woo! I more or less recovered from my flu, so albeit super late, I'm excited to get to work on my wips again ^^
Natasha stared at a huge mountain of ice cream with a variety of toppings, syrups, and decorations that reminded her of a Christmas tree or a careless drawing of a small child with its bright design. To say that all her preconceptions about the taste preferences of her boss crumbled to dust is to say nothing at all.
She could only gawk in genuine bewilderment at the gigantic dessert and the young man enthusiastically gobbling it up with no care in the world, paying absolutely no mind to her intense gaze. Rather, his interest was entirely focused on the specific person at the other end of the cafe, chatting away fervently with their friends over fresh cups of coffee.
Well, this is turning out to be a very fascinating scouting mission, there's no doubt about that.
After weeks of careful study and selection, Unknown finally approved on their future target, whose goal would be to stay in their Savior's former apartment and collect useful information on the RFA without their knowledge. However, before proceeding with the execution of their plan, they had to make sure that the decision being made was indeed perfect and that nothing could threaten the safety of their eternal paradise.
And so, here they are, roughly speaking, practically stalking this unfortunate soul at every twist and turn, monitoring any aspects of their daily life that may be useful to them in the future.
Going inside the cafe and having a bite to eat was her idea from the very beginning, given they had not eaten anything since early morning, and the alluring smell of freshly baked pastries and hot coffee coming from the doors of the establishment made her stomach growl so loudly that Unknown began to angrily grumble at her from his seat behind the wheel of an inconspicuous car. Fortunately, the Savior has given them a certain budget for all sorts of possible needs that may arise during their trip, and... why not take advantage of the rare opportunity to eat something other than the usual menu of Magenta, right? Plus, this way, they will be able to observe the target at a much closer distance, all while not drawing too much attention to themselves.
That is, except for her boss's eccentric attire, of course. Not to mention his fussy attitude due to his hunger which he stubbornly refused to acknowledge.
And although he realized that she was only trying to beg him for food in this roundabout way, after pondering over her offer for a couple of minutes, he reluctantly agreed, grabbing her by the arm and dragging her towards the cafe before she could say a word.
"For someone who's been buzzing my ears off about how she's supposedly starving, you're suspiciously unenthusiastic."
She twitched, suddenly realizing that she had been staring at him without any shame all this time, her mouth almost gaping.
Unknown arched an eyebrow in silent question, stuffing yet another portion of mint chocolate chip ice cream into his mouth, which... to be honest, looked quite comical when compared to the general menacing aura that he tried to exude with his whole appearance.
"Uh-"
She choked out, awkwardly clearing her throat and looking around, suddenly very aware of how public this place really is.
"...Ice cream doesn't quite fit the bill for a full meal, if I'm not mistaken, boss."
She murmured as she lazily scooped up an area of vanilla ice cream topped with strawberry syrup, before lifting it to her lips to taste the sweetness radiating on her tongue.
He huffed, crossing his legs and grabbing a particularly large raspberry from the top of the dessert.
"Tough luck, assistant, I'm not your chef - I'm your boss. So it seems like you have no choice but to listen to me... What a shame."
Cheeky bastard!
Natasha narrowed her eyes in clear annoyance, observing the sly smirk forming on his lips as he carelessly tossed a berry into his mouth with a cocky gleam sparkling in his piercing eyes. And just like that, he returned to his engrossing task of spying on their unfortunate victim as if nothing has ever happened. She sighed, clenching both hands into fists and gathering all of her self-control together so as to withhold her immense desire to bark back right in his face. They cannot attract unneeded attention to themselves, and he used this fact to his advantage, openly mocking her and not even trying to hide it.
She should have expected that he wasn't planning to just treat her to a delicious dinner out of the goodness of his heart.
And yet, the greedy rumbling of her stomach made her groan in shame and, having accepted her defeat, reach out for another portion of fresh ice cream. At least, it indeed tastes very impressive - much, much better than those samples that were stored back in Magenta. And mint ice cream was never really her favorite to begin with. In addition, Unknown very rarely shared his favorite dessert with her, preferring to leave her candy bars and occasional candies from his personal 'storage'.
Well, two can play this game. If he plans on getting a reaction out of her - he got another thing coming.
So, she shifted all of her focus to the cold dessert in front of her and continued quietly enjoying the pleasant sweetness on her lips, not putting up a fight. Contrary to his expectations, she was not making a fuss in the slightest. And, if initially, he stubbornly refused to be distracted from his task, after some time of relative silence between them, his puzzled gaze stealthily darted in her direction, immediately turning back, as if nothing had happened in the first place. If it weren't for her careful observation of his every move right now, she wouldn't even notice this momentary movement from him.
To his failure, however, she saw through his indifferent facade, and now it was her turn to take matters into her own hands.
So, pretending that she was simply reaching out for yet another portion of sweet ice cream, she moved her leg under the table just enough to gently push his knee with her own, immediately moving back and putting on an act of this collision being just an unfortunate accident and nothing more. Unknown shuddered, this time giving her a rather irritated look without trying to hide it. This was a clear warning to her. However, she only shrugged nonchalantly, chewing on a tart blueberry with a pleased expression forming on her face.
"It's not my fault you refuse to just move our 'dinner' to the middle of the table, boss. Or do you want to feed me?"
Natasha rested her chin on her palm as her face broke into a cunning grin, comparable only to that of the Cheshire cat himself. Oh yes, she was shamelessly teasing him, taking advantage of their public setting, just as he had done to her mere moments earlier.
Of course, she would pay for it later - she understood that very well. No matter how much she played on his nerves, at the end of the day, it was he who held the most power over her, and she was completely helpless against this one simple fact. But like hell she will let him treat her like this without putting up a fight in the process!
A low growl came from his throat, like some kind of threat of the danger she was putting herself into by such careless behavior. Too bad for him, she pretended not to hear that distinct sound and continued pushing through, without a single sign of doubt in her elegant posture. She looked like a sly cat, planning on pushing a valuable object off the table right in front of her owner without any second thoughts.
"You're walking a very. thin. line. idiot."
He had to lower his voice to a low hiss, and she couldn't help but rejoice at the realization that she had successfully turned the tables on him. Normally, he would have already cornered her by now, towering over her and doing everything to show her who was really playing the strings here. However, right now, if he, let's say, tried grabbing her by the wrist, he would attract excessive attention to himself in an instant, which he understood perfectly.
Oh, she got him good. Looks like Unknown does not enjoy the taste of his own medicine. How charming.
She giggled, playfully arching an eyebrow and sliding her foot under the table yet again, this time hooking it under his own. He twitched, clasping his fingers on the surface of the table until his knuckles turned white, all while burning holes into her with an angry scowl on his face. If stares could kill, she'd probably be dead right where she was sitting in one second flat.
"Come now, don't act so grumpy on our first date. I might feel hurt, you know?"
She was only playing around, and yet, a pale blush creeped out on her cheeks as she purred out her sweet taunts, pursing her lips in a small fake pout.
He grimaced, crossing his arms across his chest and huffing in clear amusement.
" 'Date?' Is that what you think this is, princess?"
By this point, both of them had long since forgotten about their 'mission', too engrossed in this imaginary game of wits between themselves.
Natasha tucked a long lock of hair behind her ear in false bashfulness, fluttering her lashes up at him. Her voice dropped to a sweet murmur.
"Well, you can't blame me, right? Here we are, sitting across from each other in a cozy little cafe, sharing a huge ice cream. I'm pretty sure this one is meant for couples to share, considering its design."
This time, he was the one choking on his words and glancing around in bewilderment. She had to fight back a fit of laughter that was bubbling up in her chest. Of course, he had no idea about such nuances of the 'outside world - it's kind of adorable how he sincerely intended to enjoy this huge ice cream meant for two from the very beginning all by himself.
Before she could continue her sugary torture, however, they were both interrupted by a movement to the side, where MC was hugging their friends goodbye and packing up their things.
"..."
Well, this was fun while it lasted.
Their eyes followed their target as they both remained in somewhat awkward silence now, with half-finished ice cream slowly melting away in the middle. Before he could open his mouth to argue though, she waved him off, giving him a genuinely apologetic smile.
"C'mon, I can ask them to pack it up for us to-go. It's the least I can do for riling you up like that. And sorry. For teasing you, I mean. I promise I'm not going to wine if you decide to punish me this time. I totally deserve it."
She chuckled as she rose from her seat after him. However, before she could turn on her heels to walk towards the counter again, he stepped forward, grabbing her hands and tugging her closer to him.
Completely taken by surprise, she gasped, stumbling helplessly against his chest and looking up at him with a pair of dumbfounded mint eyes. She didn't expect him to do something like that in public! Nevertheless, to her utter distress, he leaned to the shell of her ear, sending small currents of warm air over the sensitive skin of her neck, which made her involuntarily tremble under his spell.
"Oh, you don't get to play coy with me now, pet. You made your intentions crystal clear to me, don't you agree on that? I'll show you what a true date with me looks like, just like you wanted... It's too late for you to back away now, so don't even think about escaping. You reap what you sow, greedy princess. It's about time for you to learn this simple lesson."
His husky undertone sent shivers down her spine, making her legs turn into jelly underneath her.
Oh... This is bad.
He snickered softly, clearly very amused with her flustered reaction, which did not help her vulnerable position at all.
But, this game was not over just yet.
Before he could step away and claim victory for himself, she leaned into him, fighting against the embarrassment bubbling up in her stomach, lacing their fingers together and rising on her tiptoes to get even closer.
"Well, give me all you got then, boss. But, since I'm a greedy princess now, I might as well try to have my cake and eat it too... So don't expect me to back down easily."
"..."
It seems this 'date' has gotten more and more bizarre with each minute passing by.
