Okay so I got several notes on my "Things Jason Todd should freak out over that happened while he was dead/in a coma/braindead/gone" post about using it in a timeline EXCEPT I listed those events off the top of my head and didn't actually look up when they happened relative to each other so I know that they weren't in chronological order so I am relisting each of those plus a few new ones in chronological order with issue dates here if anyone actually does want a timeline. OVERALL THOUGHTS
This year has been an exercise in not letting life stop me from writing. Writing has been more about self-care, and most of the time, the best I've been able to manage is a ficlet.
PERSONAL FAVORITE?
Alike But Not (MCU). I love when I really get to use my poetry background to make pretty prose for a story. Also, I love shoehorning Lokane into the more recent MCU films/shows. (It's my version of a "fix it fic." Planning to do one based on the Loki series finale soon.)
MOST UNDERAPPRECIATED?
I'm not sure there's anything that didn't get the engagement I anticipated. I write for smaller fandoms and dead fandoms, so a low number of hits/kudos/comments comes with the territory. I've already lived my fic writing heyday, and I'm totally cool with no longer being in the spotlight.

STORY WITH THE SEXIEST MOMENT?
Hands down, it's Crossing Boundaries (TROP). There are two moments that really sizzle in that one:
“Is this what we’re doing now?” He twines his finger in one of the drawstrings, gives it a little tug. “Touching each other’s things?”
She tips her chin up in defiance of her heart thudding against her ribcage. “I needed it. Mine was in the wash.”
He nods slowly with a hint of a smile. “And if I need something, I can just—” he tugs on the drawstring harder, “—take it?”
And:
“He’s never laying eyes on this again.”
She bristles at the authority in his tone despite the chills pebbling beneath his questing fingers. “You don’t have a say in that.”
“I do,” he argues, hands gliding down her sides. “This temple has only one priest.” His fingers hook into the waistband of her shorts, and he drops to his knees. “And I’ve come to worship.”
MOST FUN STORY TO WRITE?
Dirty Laundry (TROP). That story is pure unadulterated crackfic and I had a blast writing it.
HARDEST?
Emotionally, it was That Which Blooms in Stillness (SAB). It deals with a heavy theme that has touched my life.

Nothing exists in this moment outside of the feel of her skirts billowing outward, his fingers at her waist, her mirth reflected in his eyes. She is a child again, untouched by suffering and death. She’s the little girl riding her brothers’ shoulders, picking apples from the high branches. She’s an adolescent astride a stallion at full gallop for the first time. (Reprieve, TROP, T)
Because the Mighty Thor is not all she is, but in this bellicose society, it’s all that matters. She aches for more and is disturbed when she recognizes the same dissatisfaction in his tactile gaze. (Alike But Not, MCU, M)
Her skin is smooth, soft beneath his calloused hands. Against his lips, his tongue. She makes him think of when he fancied himself a sculptor of metal. Her sighs are the bellows to his flame of desire. Her sinuous curves molten alloy, bending to his whims. As she arches her back, she is the pièce de résistance of his collection and he the master of this beauty. (Dangerous Games, TROP, M)
"S'in my pocket. 'Cause this dress has pockets!" She clumsily patted at her hips until she found one, shoved her hand in, and pulled out the black rectangle of plastic with a triumphant smile. "Ta-da!" She giggled at her own joke with a fetching little snort. (Fun Surprises, MCU, T)
She’s like a specter, her pale, slender fingers hiking her skirts up to her knees as she picks her way through the damp grass on bare feet. Meeting some really awesome people through the Haladriel (TROP) fandom. I have gone back to mostly lurking, but I've come away with some new friends. <3

F I N I S H ! I have 16 posted WIPs (soon to be 17) in 5 fandoms. For 2024 I am planning to complete at least 3 of them. Aside from ficlets and short oneshots when the mood strikes, I will not be posting any new stories.

The M-497 was a railcar test bed of the New York Central Railroad, developed and tested in 1966. It uses two General Electric J47-19 jet engines, the ones that the Convair B-36 "Peacemaker" used.
On July 23, 1966, the car reached a speed of 183.68 mph, an American rail speed record that still stands today.

The Anime Binge-Watcher's Queer Anime Ship Tournament: Round 1 Results!
The first round has come to an end, and what a round it was! Huge blowouts, shocking reversals, hard choices, and many worthy opponents struck down by even worthier ones before they even got a chance to shine. This is already proving exactly as chaotic as I'd hoped, and I couldn't be more proud of y'all for it. So before we head on to round 2, here's a breakdown of how all the match-ups went and the most dramatic moments!
Most Voted Poll: Far and away the poll with the most votes was Bumbleby vs ToukoYuu, with a staggering 797 votes! No surprises there; both these ships are true all-timers with incredibly passionate fanbases who battled back and forth until the Bloomers pulled into a lead the RWBYheads just couldn't make up. But it was a well-fought battle! Second place goes to ChisaTaki vs MadoHomu with an equally impressive 698 votes, and NanoFate vs KobaTohru pulled an impressive third place with 497 votes.
Least Voted Poll: In a shock I didn't see coming, KukuFuuka vs KumiRei came in last with a measly 164 votes. I guess it's no surprise more people haven't heard of the criminally underrated Aquatope, but Kumirei??? One of the beloved gay ships in all of 2010s anime and so few people turned out for it? The mind just boggles, I tell ya. Second place goes to CocoPapi vs The Doukyuusei Boys with just 183, with AoiHina vs YukiTouya coming just behind with a 188 vote third place.
Biggest Blowout: Meanwhile, in the complete opposite of a shock, UtenAnthy absolutely demolished Ymir x Historia with a staggering 90.2% to 9.8% victory. Listen, I love my Attack on Titan girls, but they never stood a chance against one of the founding titans of queer anime love stories. Ditto poor ShamiMomo who went up against the newly crowned patron saint of anime lesbians SuleMio and got stomped 87.1% to 12.9% in second place. Compared to them, YukiTouya's third place finish against AoiHina with 74.5% to 25.5% doesn't seem like much, does it?
Closest Nail-Biter: In another big shock for me, the blowout victory I expected for NanoFate turned into the narrowest of losses against Kobayashi x Tohru, 50.5% to 49.5%- only a single percentage apart! Clearly, I underestimated how powerful the dragon lesbians have become in the years since their arrival. Kase x Yamada also just barely eked out a win against ReoMabu with a 51.2% to 48.8% second place finish. Third place went to Aoi Hana vs RekiLanga with a narrow 54.8% to 45.2% victory for RekiLanga.
As for me personally? Believe it or not, it was almost a perfect split! 9 of my picks made it through while the other 7 fell short. I'm shocked how close that ended up! Hopefully I'll have better luck in round 2, yeah? So gird your loins, everyone, cause the next round of voting will start very shortly!

Elk facts :)
The elk (Cervus canadensis), or wapiti, is one of the largest species within the deer family, Cervidae, and one of the largest terrestrial mammals in its native range of North America and Central and East Asia.
The word "elk" originally referred to the European variety of the moose, Alces alces, but was transferred to Cervus canadensis by North American colonists. The name "wapiti", derived from a Shawnee and Cree word meaning "white rump", is also used for C. canadensis.
Elk range in forest and forest-edge habitat, feeding on grasses, plants, leaves, and bark. Male elk have large antlers which they shed each year.
Males also engage in ritualized mating behaviors during the rut, including posturing, antler wrestling (sparring), and bugling, a loud series of vocalizations that establishes dominance over other males and attracts females.
Although it is currently native to North America and central/eastern Asia, it had a much wider distribution in the past. Populations were present across Eurasia into Western Europe during the Late Pleistocene and survived into the early Holocene in southern Sweden and the Alps; the extinct Merriam's elk subspecies ranged into Mexico. The elk has adapted well to countries where it has been introduced, including Argentina and New Zealand. Its adaptability may in fact threaten endemic species and the ecosystems into which it has been introduced.
Elk are susceptible to a number of infectious diseases, some of which can be transmitted to livestock. Efforts to eliminate infectious diseases from elk populations, largely by vaccination, have had mixed success.
Some cultures revere the elk as having spiritual significance. In parts of Asia, antlers and their velvet are used in traditional medicines. Elk are hunted as a game species. Their meat is leaner and higher in protein than beef or chicken. Elk were long believed to belong to a subspecies of the European red deer (Cervus elaphus), but evidence from many mitochondrial DNA genetic studies beginning in 1998 shows that the two are distinct species. Key morphological differences that distinguish C. canadensis from C. elaphus are the former's wider rump patch and paler-hued antlers.
Elk have thick bodies with slender legs and short tails. They have a shoulder height of 0.75–1.5 m (2 ft 6 in – 4 ft 11 in) with a nose-to-tail length of 1.6–2.7 m (5 ft 3 in – 8 ft 10 in). Males are larger and weigh 178–497 kg (392–1,096 lb) while females weigh 171–292 kg (377–644 lb).
Antlers are made of bone, which can grow at a rate of 2.5 centimeters (0.98 in) per day. While actively growing, a soft layer of highly vascularized skin known as velvet covers and protects them. This is shed in the summer when the antlers have fully developed.
During the fall, elk grow a thicker coat of hair, which helps to insulate them during the winter.
Both male and female North American elk grow thin neck manes; females of other subspecies may not.
All elk have small and clearly defined rump patches with short tails. They have different coloration based on the seasons and types of habitats, with gray or lighter coloration prevalent in the winter and a more reddish, darker coat in the summer. Subspecies living in arid climates tend to have lighter colored coats than do those living in forests.

Not sure what species, but the beauty of the wing and the white integument and contrasty hair and eyes were appealing. Collected inadvertently while netting bees in Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge on a bright sunny day in the 70s.

Before all of this, before he'd been killed so mercilessly while protecting his king, Bdubs actually liked the mornings.
He had a routine, he had at least one of his partners, he had something.
But now? He was a lonely god locked away in the little house he'd made overlooking Sanctuary. An echoing, aching loneliness.
At least he had someone now, a demon that would pass by from time to time and rest in his bed peacefully.
Impulse chuffed as Bdubs nuzzled his cheek, a small noise he only ever made when half asleep or groggy. A simple greeting when he was too tired to even recognize that he'd made the noise.
He smiled before kissing his husband's cheek, moving to do the same on his jaw, neck, shoulder, then pulling back to see how flushed his partner looked before finally kissing his lips.
"Mornin' gorgeous." Bdubs hummed.
A small joke, a mistype, something he'd never been hard on Impulse about but would also never forget.
"Morn'n'." Impulse replied with a purr.
It had usually been in reverse, Impulse calling him gorgeous as the dryad woke up, but now it was Bdubs' turn to look over his husband and question how he got so lucky.
A hand lazily made its way to his cheek before caressing the back of his head, urging him forward into another kiss. This time deeper, filled with more love and maybe a mix of something else until they broke, Impulse slumping back down to the bed with an ever so slightly confident purr.
"Look tired." Impulse said plainly.
Bdubs laughed lightly as he cupped Impulse's hand. "I'd usually be going to bed right now."
"'m sorry…"
"No! No, it's- it's fine, sweetheart." Bdubs said urgently. "I actually like having someone here with me. It's been real quiet for the past few years, I've never liked being alone."
"Still feel bad…"
Bdubs sighed with a smile as he shook his head, it was never easy to fight a half asleep and overthinking Impulse. "I love you, I really do. Now get up so you can eat breakfast."
"It's night…"
"Doesn't matter how late it is, it's breakfast for you."
Again, Impulse purred happily as he nuzzled into the hand on his cheek.
He had to stop himself from just flopping down there and cuddling against his partner as he fell asleep even as his stomach growled loudly. But Impulse was right there. Large and warm and welcoming with a purr that shook his rib cage especially when he laughed.
“Have I ever said how much I love you?”
And Impulse makes that little laugh with an undercurrent of a purr as Bdubs moves back to let him sit up. “Every morning since you married me.”
“It’s true! I love you, Impulse!”
There’s another fer fer fer noise as Impulse nuzzles into his cheek, falling quiet as Bdubs takes his hand and drags him off to the table he’d set not that long before.

a gruff voice rang out through the quiet street, only the sound of shoes colliding with the concrete was accompanying the ginger's input.
"now, now chuuya...~ that wouldn't be fun would it? plus: safer then sorry!"
the brunette laugh, flashing his signature smile before making his way into chuuya's and his shared home.
with a sigh, chuuya nodded, he knew dazai was right, they couldn't risk having attention being drawn to them, especially not at this time of the night; it was far too risky for dazai due to the fact he was a part of the ADA(armed detective agency).
and he couldn't afford for them to find out about their little... 'lover' that they now had under lock and key.
the sound of chains, rustling, screaming, cries, and pleas filled the candlelit room.
the two males were currently puzzled on what they should do, their love, their prized possession, their earth, their everything, was afraid of them...?
dazai was the first to approach you, a soft sincere smile was plastered across that smug face of his.
"shhh, it's alright dear, just breathe for a moment, won't you?"
his bandaged hand making its way around your waist: rubbing it softly in an attempt to settle your cries.
you had to admit, you weren't completely against the idea of the men loving and taking care of you; they could be very sweet and comforting when you were missing your old life.
chuuya always cooked up a nice dinner of your choice, sitting with you as the two of you watched whatever you'd like on the TV while dazai was at work.
while chuuya did have a temper, he was soft when it came to you; he was always there for you when you managed to injur yourself: placing a bandaid onto your injury with a soft kiss which slowly lead to your face, kissing away your tears until you busted into laughter about how it tickled.
even when dazai was extremely busy, he always made room for you.
holding you close while rocking you back and forth, rushing your cries and pleas to go home.
he was so sweet and caring!
why would you ever want to leave him?
dazai would always be there to soothe you and your pleas to go home.
he always managed to calm you down and convince you that you were safer here with him and chuuya, they would take care of you and love you more then ever.

A/N : i don't really like how this turned out.
i could have made this a lot better, but I couldn't choose whether to make headcanons or a small story.
eventually i went with the short story due to the fact my next request is sumeru men cuddle headcannons.
