Incoming infodump (don't worry, no spoilers) in response to your question about the archivist's name (in the tags of your Jonmartin post): it's Jonathan Sims, named after the writer, because he was originally planning for the series to just be a horror anthology series, with each episode being an individual statement with its own self-contained story, and just him reading it out. But it was then decided that the series would have an overarching plot and Jon the archivist would actually be a proper character. At this stage of the development, Jonny (the writer) should have decided to change the name of the main character so he was no longer named after himself, but instead he went, "Nah, it'll be fine" (he now regrets this and the confusion it has caused). Jonathan Sims (the archivist) is mostly referred to as Jon throughout the series. Most of the fandom tend to spell it as "Jon" since his name "Jonathan" and not "Johnathan" and it seems like a more logical short version (at least, that's why I spell it that way?). But Jonny and Rusty Quill, as well as the transcripts, spell it as John. Jonny prefers to spell it that way to create some distance between himself and the character, but has stated that he doesn't mind whether other people spell it as John or Jon.

See I was kinda scared Martin would actually be A Mean Person but. he’s not. he is so sweet actually. I love him. He tried to get a picture of Jane’s corpse turned colony so Jon would believe him but. well. dropping the phone also gave Jon enough evidence since he’d been getting texts from “Not Martin” that “Huh! Maybe he is telling the truth!” and even let him stay in the archive. Thats nice of him ^____^ On the topic of THAT, though, I was right!! That stupid spider episode was plot relevant! kind of!!

im gonna take it a step further and say dont just avoid the wiki and jonmartin-specific content - avoid EVERYTHING about tma until you're finished. dont follow anyone who posts about it, block every relevant tag, dont look at ANYTHING until you're done. this isnt even just about jonmartin, there's so many "holy shit this changes everything" moments and most of them happened so long ago that they're not tagged as spoilers anymore. trust me when i say it'll be a lot more fun if you stay 100% spoiler-free

I won't say much, put it's very closely tied to Jonmartins character arc. I learned about it about halfway through season 2, and though it didn't ruin anything for me it was kinda dull to know what was going to happen to my favourite character in that place.
