Yes: both Mobius and Sylvie abused Loki during the series. And yes, biphobia and transphobia has increased in this fandom (because of this shit show). However, none of y'all are innocent.

Many S*lkis love to harp on the "wah, you biphobic misogynist! You are mad your gay ship isn't canon!" excuse on Twitter and on here, but in you all are silencing those are female and/or female presenting and/or trans women (who may or may not be bi), as well as other bi folk who found more issues with S*lki. Such as the pro-Autogynephilia messaging Disney/Marvel been pushing (there is literally no way to dance around it, it is autogynephilia. Please stop lying to yourselves - KH, SDM, MW and EM have all revealed their true colors when it comes down to trans people and their views on them. Sophia has blocked trans folk [idk if these people are for either ship] on Twitter who called her out on her transphobia and/or critiquing her and/or her character; and Kate has been outright ignoring and playing innocent to her fucking audience members) by forcing Loki with a female version of himself who is a massive sociopathic bitch, and the actual biphobia is how so many people (either Lokius or S*lki or none) called Loki's sexuality as nothing more than him being frisky til he fell in "true love" with Sylvie (yes, I have seen these horseshit takes. And it needs to stop) and the fact Kate herself said she wasn't going to continue exploring that element of Loki's identity (then again, she never did. Stop praising her for literally doing fuck all), and the incest issue as well as the IPV that Sylvie performs on Loki makes Amber Heard look like a fucking saint.

And, before anyone gets pissy, Mobius is just as bad. Being Waldy's self insert, of course (much like how Sylvie was Katie's), he treats Loki like shit and threatens him with death and tortures him repeatedly throughout the series. However, I myself still enjoy the natural and authentic chemistry between Wilson and Hiddleston, and for me, that makes this ship a little more enjoyable than the former. But, I know just how toxic the Lokius fandom is on Twitter (I mean, Twitter in general is a toxic cest pool owned by Elon Musk now. Are we really surprised?) and they need to learn just to block and ignoring and to not engage in sending threats. If you are by any chance a Lokius shipper who has/planned to send threats - piss off into Hell, rn.

Hell - BOTH parties need to realize that they need to learn just to block and ignore. NOT SEND THREATS (Or you can piss off into hell). This is the problem that both parties are guilty of: sending threats and/or KYS messages to anyone regardless of their shipping stance; hell, even valid criticisms about the show and people who've made them- yeah, they've gotten threats as well. I have seen a few mutals of mine repeatedly be sent death threat after death threat, for posting their opinions ON THEIR BLOG. And it needs to stop.

On Monday, Marvel put out a new Loki trailer, previewing the final two episodes of the season. The trailer briefly shows Mobius living out a normal life, presumably as he did before he was recruited into the Time Variance Authority.

Since then the Loki fandom, famed for its carefully considered reactions, has gone from debating whether Mobius is married/divorced/widowed to wondering if Mobius is secretly Thor. (Or Balder.) This is all based on approximately three seconds in a trailer for two episodes.

Apparently word got around that Mobius's real name is "Don," which could make him Don Blake. In the comics, Don Blake was the human alter ego of Thor. (Or Balder, in the other comics. This is confusing.) I have absolutely no idea how anyone decided Mobius is named "Don" in the first place. It's the same kind of logic that gave us "Someone said 'the devil' in WandaVision, so Mephisto is the next Thanos."

At issue here is, as usual, Lokius. If Mobius has a family life outside the TVA, you see, then he might not be willing or able to consummate his fanon romance with Loki. Or, if he's somehow a variant of Loki's adoptive brother, it would get real awkward for Lokius shippers who have insisted that it's wrong to pair Loki up with Sylvie because they ought to have more of a sibling dynamic. (Loki, who once fucked a horse, could not be reached for comment.)

Anyway, the next episode of Loki drops later tonight, and there's doom and gloom in the fandom about the possibility that Lokius has been Thorki all along. I've already seen someone denounce this "twist" as homophobia and queerbaiting. Because, you see, Disney deliberately designed this show to get fans to infer an mlm relationship, and now Disney is going to dick around with said relationship just to spite those fans, which wouldn't increase their profits by one cent, but for some reason they're bound and determined to do it anyway? I need to lie down.

i'm so sorry to see that you're being vagueposted about for your sylki takes. it may be true that how you see sylki is a bit different than a certain section of the fandom, but that doesn't at ALL mean that you shouldn't be allowed to have your own takes! fwiw, i followed you bc i actually agree with and really enjoy ur perspective on sylki. i was getting frustrated with how many people seem to view this ship in a super heteronormative way and want sylvie to basically become a housewife, and i was so glad to find a blog that felt the same way. this fandom has become tiring tbh with how many people are now freaking out that sylvie hasn't immediately started having lokis babies in s2, and i really wish that people would at least leave room for others to have their own opinions!

at this point i honestly hate this fandom. there are some decent sylkis out there and i love the ship itself, but a big portion of the fandom has simply sucked all the joy for the series out of me. i wonder if they realize what the consequences of their behavior could be? back when i said (in my blog) that i don't think sylvie having babies is a compelling completion of her story in canon, and this bunch came to my blog to harass me for my takes, i was in a very *very* bad place already, and the space that was supposed to be my escape pretty much turned on me and added up to an already depressing state i was in.

Seen a lot of wank already today, so just a few happy little reminders:

I love Sylvie and I'm a Sylki shipper.

But I love Mobius, too. You might even see me occasionally reblog things that fall under the category of Lokius. Or see me reblog things that could be anti Lokius. Or even anti Sylki. I just hit reblog when I like something and I don't worry much about it.

That said, I don't actually ship Lokius and prefer them as friends. I try not to engage in ship wars. BUT I do get pretty annoyed when I see sexist nonsense about Sylvie that crosses the line.

Mobius is the self-insert

I had totally forgotten about this but it's a conversation I had with a friend early in the show. We immediately liked Mobius so much and realised it was because he's literally a fan-insert fantasy of sorts. He knows everything about Loki but Loki knows nothing about him. Like us. He views it all on the screen too with, of course, all footage from the same films we watched, nothing less nothing more, that was bound to be but it adds to the fact that Mobius has the same knowledge and perspective as people who watched the MCU films. He plays it cool about all this vulnerable information he has while also showing Loki a road to acceptance and a kind of support he hasn't had before. Another very common characterisation with self inserts or OCs (no shame there tho, i enjoy those stories too they all serve a different purpose). Mobius was very much the fantasy of Reader Who Knows Things About Loki And Wants To Show Him The Light, and again, I liked him for that reason too. It's so odd to me though people kept insisting that Sylvie is the self insert character because she's female-presenting.

Anyway this is a multishipping zone, i haven't made a Loki post in ages to avoid that exact fandom wank, don't come here to make shipping into activism, i bite.

(p.s, also just realised that the thing about Loki was that every character went through a redemption arc because they were all doing shitty stuff and then thought "what if we didn't do this?")

Okay, time for another salty, angry rant

A certain person I'm not going to name for safety reason has been victim of online harrassment. I don't give a sh*t about the facts they post their vitriol in our tags, or the fact they called us TERFs. The block button is right here if you don't want to see those posts. What makes my blood boil is the fact some poeple who claim to be Sylkis (and other fans of the show) have been sending hate anon to this person, and they should be ashamed.

Being a Sylki fan, but also a Lokius fan, or a general Loki series fan is about finding comfort in a found family narrative. It's also about finding a higher purpose, looking beyond the narrow path of our lives. It's also about admitting we're sometimes wrong, and finding the courage to fight for what's right.

I know we cannot do anything individually, but as a community we can make the fandom safer for everyone.

First, don't share screenshots. Even cropped ones. This is a foul and cowardly behaviour. If you want to vent about stuff that annoy you, describe those arguments with your own words. And do it in private, not in public. I know drama is giving all of us (me included) cheap adrenaline after a boring day at work, but this is not healthy. This is highly toxic for everyone. So block poeple who annoy you. It's as simple as that.

Second, if you want to take an extra step, don't allow anything like that in your circles. If a friend or a mutual clowns on other poeple's posts, or post sceenshots, call them out in private. If someone is recieving anon hate and feels threatened, stand for them.

We all complain that the Loki fandom (and most big fandoms tbh) suck, but we're all part of it and we can all make it a bit better.

to me, the interesting part of shipping is the beginning of relationships. how do two people connect? how do they begin to understand each other, like each other, want each other, need each other? what obstacles do they face and how do they confront them? that's part of why i love a slow burn, i love to see it all unfold in slow slow SLOW motion, i want to see every brain cell tick along towards that idea, i want to see how people cope with their differences and recognize their similarities. that's why, to me, lokius and sylki are equally good as ships. i keep seeing posts of people going well i like X and here is why Y doesn't work at all, and talking about chemistry or characterization or canon or what's more healthy or selfcest (lol) or i don't even know sometimes, and i just honestly do not get it. it's not a zero sum game. you don't win something by shitting on someone else because it's all made up and you can make up whatever you want, you know? but i can sit here and see how sylki has begun in canon. and i can see other ways it could have gone. it raises interesting questions about how do two people connect when they are similar but different, when they are similar but at different stages of emotional development, when they have differing goals and approaches. how do you reconcile that? the show couldn't, so far, and might never -- but i can think of lots of ways it could come together. i can think of how common causes can develop now. i can think of how comforting it would be to let yourself love someone who you identify with in so many ways. and i can also sit here and see how lokius isn't canon, but you can see a connection between the characters that could possibly deepen with more shared experiences, could be nurtured into something beautiful. and it raises interesting questions about how does a relationship develop when it starts out so wrong-footed, with such a stark power imbalance, with one person under threat of the actual end of their existence from the other. how does trust grow after something like that? how do you rely on someone that you've manipulated or who's manipulated you? but i can think of ways. so here's my challenge to you: if you love sylki and you don't 'get' lokius, look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself, you know what, it's okay if i don't get it. they've got their thing, i've got mine, and there's room for everyone. you don't have to explain why you think they can't have a healthy relationship or why you didn't see a connection. it's not your business, so let it go. and if you love lokius and you don't 'get' sylki, look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself, you know what, it's okay if i don't get it. they've got their thing, i've got mine, and there's room for everyone. you don't have to explain why you think it's creepy or that the characterization was bad and lacking in chemistry. it's not your business, so let it go. if you can't quietly respect people who differ and just focus on your own thing, it's not really the ship you have a problem with.

Well he is a cop, basically, isn't he? Good Cop and Bad Cop at the same time, with his attacks and his praise intermingled. Which must be a complete mindfuck to be faced with so he's probably really successful. I joke about the lokius praise kink thing but he does seem to have managed to make Loki eager to please him (and to thus receieve praise from him) really quickly.

"We pruned her" is really mean but as it's right next to the Actual Torture bit it kind of flies under fandom's radar a bit, plus shipping people tend to focus on how about three sentences later he's all "LOL u fancy her!!!" and THEN he says the narcissism thing which angers a different set of people so basically it's surrounded by wank-fodder such that it fails to become wank-fodder itself.

Alas for me people either don't want to write about Mobius at all or they want to write about his softer side, because no one wants to ship Loki with someone who's being manipulative and potentially abusing a position of power and if they do then Jeff Goldblum the Grandmaster is the obvious go-to character for that.
