Frigid
Malleus x reader
Tw: Yandere
It was cold.
The wind howled against the windows, like mournful wolves. Rattling the windows frames furiously, a relentless attack. Emerald flames flicker on the walls, torches set ablaze. As must as they illuminated the room with an eerie, green light, they did little to warm you.
Your hands were trembling now, the very tips of your fingers shaking like a lone leaf tossed into a storm. At the mercy of the whims of a force much greater than you were…
Which wasn’t far off from what was happening now.
Clutching at your chest, you curl further into yourself. Trying to preserve whatever bare fragments of warmth that your body still had. Trying to stave off the chill that was now gnawing into your skin, slipping into your very bones. You swear you could feel your blood freezing, frost creeping all over every crevice it could touch.
As you gritted your teeth, you could hear a chuckle. Your fingers tighten around your shoulders, digging faint, pale streaks across your skin. That laugh chilled you to the bone, sending an ice-cold dread, racing down your spine.
You glance to the source of the laugh. A pair of emerald eyes peer back at yours, twinkling with amusement. Malleus Draconia, leaning back into the bed rest. He seems unperturbed by the cold, choosing to stare at you instead. You would have loved to see some sadistic gleam in his gaze, something ugly and cruel. It’ll make your torture much easier to bear, if you had something to bare your teeth at. Someone to hate, someone to blame.
Yet there was nothing of that sort in Malleus’ gaze. Only a patronising sort of amusement that comes from someone watching a rather silly pet. It was sickeningly sweet, much like the sort of cloying artificial syrup that clung onto your throat long after it was swallowed.
Gently, he reaches towards you. Hand resting onto your shoulder, stroking downwards ever so slowly. Despite yourself, you let out a breathy sigh at the feeling of something warm touching your skin. Something that wasn’t the bitter cold, skating over your body.
Reluctantly, you unfurl yourself. Slowly edging closer towards Malleus like a wary animal. He lets you approach, the ghost of a satisfied smirk dancing across his lips. The smile of the victor, looking down at the opponent who never had a chance.
A weight presses into your torso. Malleus’ arms snake around you, coaxing you closer. Until you were curled up on his chest, your head tucked into the curve of his shoulder. Satisfied with himself, Malleus allows himself a brief chuckle, before his voice drops into a low hum. A lullaby, from his days as a young fae. A comforting melody that has been passed through generations. His voice echoes off the stone walls, engulfing you like a huge, soft blanket.
He held you there, rubbing slow, gentle circles into your back. His touch was loving, affectionate even.
Tender.
You couldn’t help but wonder what you two looked like, from an outsider’s perspective. Two lovers perhaps, intertwined with each other. Would this be a sweet moment of affection between a couple? A lovely little scene? Maybe if you pretended it was, things would be easier for you, as a captive.
If you tried hard enough, you could even forget the fact that Malleus was the one who summoned the blizzard in the first place.

Of course you can be a customer! Everyone’s welcome in run of the mill!
Disclaimer: not everyone is welcome at ROTM due to our policy against assholes, trauma givers, and people fighting in the restaurant; the only exceptions are arsonists because if we removed them we wouldn’t have staff.

The header looks great! Dandelion head looks adorable in your art style and in blue! A bit sad you found out Loop’s name in the manual, but a fair trade to see you discover the manual! Odile trying to curb Bonnie’s chaos is adorable! Bonnie loves bullying Isa for being a rock type, little hypocrite. But maybe check everyone’s weaknesses again- it’s an interesting detail. Clearly, Loop is a Lizard type. Odile, shopping for supplies: *loop sfx* what the- Siffrin! I know this is your fault somehow!
Thank you! We've got a dot card that we're using for these icons, and we're slowly rotating through the colors - the background color for one card becomes the accent color for the next. We've got six colors in total, so we're hoping to rotate through all of them by the end - this game is six acts long, after all.
If Loop's name is revealed in a particularly entertaining manner in-game, we'd hate to miss it. Let us open up the statuses real quick, we sort of paused writing up the liveblog post mid-conversation, so we should have it on hand...
Huh. HUH! This is gonna really fucking suck for the King fight. We assumed that her weakness would be Scissors, since Paper is weak and Scissors is neutral, so we guess we didn't read too close. Damn. It's really gonna fucking suck in the King fight if our only time stop curer dies.
Odile shows up in the King's room on Day 1 after Siffrin spends some memories to teleport there directly from the start and just kind of stands there holding an accidentally-stolen jar of jam as the teleportation registers. She knows that this is Siffrin's fault because they're the only person who's actually prepared and not just panicking about the teleportation directly to the king. Also, what the fuck, Siffrin, how did you do that and why?
Loop is weak to Rock and Scissors and strong against Spock and Paper. We see. It all makes sense now. Someone who can draw human faces please draw the epic Loop-Spock-Siffrin showdown.

I love your RW art month tiles. What art program do you use and how do you get those really clean textures and shapes?
I use PaintToolSai, both 1 and 2- but most of the drawing gets done in SAI1 since I couldn't get my brushes to import right for 2. Its an extremely bare bones program all things considered (Sai2 less so, it has a bit more tool-wise, but I only draw in it if i *have* too or for minor stuff) so its nothing really fancy being employed, everything geometric I do just by using a self made grid to measure out shapes like you would a piece of paper.
Literally its just a measured out grid of like... 50 by 50 px squares with cross sections? I just paste it as needed and draw the lines around it and since the measurements are consistent it just works.
my default pen is already "crunchy" so being perfectly matched isnt a huge deal, and you can general paste and rotate to make it look a little cleaner. Honestly I've used this same grid for forever (and it was off by like one pixel at one point lol) its just really useful for quick matching things for a program that doesn't have stuff built in for lining things up
As for the textures, those are all default to SAI (I think?). The brush I use lightly uses of fabri (which mostly just makes the edges of the brush grainier) and then I usually also put some various level of a layer texture overlay thats just one of SAI's default 'watercolor' textures. It mostly just adds a little bit of a noise/grain effect. Heres that on max
For ArtMonth itself I just draw out a tile canvas using the grid with all the layers broken up- then I just reuse it over and over as needed. There's probably smarter ways to do it, but eh it works
And yeah, theres just two borders. One for the bottom and one for the top, makes it easy to make something that goes 'in and out' of the tiles without having to think to much. Just snip as needed
