It’s because of this exact moment that I can’t bring myself to like David, honestly. Like, we’ve seen him being physically abusive once in Chloe’s room if Max doesn’t step in for her, but even if she does, it’s heavily implied that he is (and has been) abusive this whole time. It’s so easy to miss, but you can see him raising his hand, and Chloe immediately taking a step back. The reason why he didn’t actually hit her was probably because he didn’t want to do it in front of Joyce, but still.

My favorite is Max because her character is very comforting and I have similar interests and music tastes to her character.

I’d say he’s my favourite because of how complex he is.

He’s one of the deeper characters in the game. He's not just a rabbithole; he's (ironically) a warren. There's a lot to unpack from him: His prescriptions: risperidone which is used to treat schizophrenia. Implications of physical, emotional, or even sexual abuse: his swimming locker is away from the other boys', which suggests a reluctance to undress around others; his tough facade completely shatters when Warren is pummeling him and there comes a point where he just submits, almost as if he's been there before. His need to defend himself: he carries a gun on him.

Having said that, he also has wasted potential. The massive plot point that Chaos Theory was meant to have about him seeing the storm that got scrapped? Yeah, that kinda sucks.

There's also a lot of moral ambiguity surrounding him. Yes he did some really shitty things under his own agency (photographing drugged young women and even doing it to Chloe), but expresses regret for his actions (behaviour report and his voicemail to Max). Also, is he entirely to blame? *side glance at Sean and Jefferson*

Oh if only he had received some proper professional help, and had a dad who actually gave a shit about him.

Still don’t get how there are homophobic people in the Life is Strange fanbase, especially on Reddit. Like my dude, this place isn’t for you. Generally, these people didn’t play Before the Storm (or any of the following games for that matter) and didn’t kiss Chloe in the first game, and their favorite thing to do is going under every pricefield post to claim that their relationship is purely platonic— thinking that doesn’t make you homophobic, but thinking the game is ruined for you if the main character isn’t straight is. Plus, how can you play that game, see Chloe Elizabeth Price and think ‘yeah that girl’s straight’, be for real right now. And like, you’re in Max Caulfield’s head, who calls girls pretty every time she opens her mouth? And like, you hear Chloe talking about Rachel and you think ‘yeah so she was totally not in love with her’? Interesting.
