Good Morning Lovelies ✨
I am currently in bed, ready to sleep but remembered I didn't post after the gym.
Last night I made chicken parm and a bourbon street chicken inspired stir fry thing. Tonight in going to break down the 5 lb pork loin I got on sale and maybe cook up some pork chops with mashed potatoes and green beans.
Here's my food log for today:

Like I said in a previous post, I didn't track every ingredient because that's too much work. So my supper also had a brown sugar bourbon marinade, soy sauce, cornstarch, and a little oil, but I'm really not too concerned about calories, just some of my macros.
I hit my protein and fiber goals, which are what I am focusing on tracking.
Today was a lower body day (and my chest is still a little sore from my upper body day last week) but I didn't want to always do the same workout, so I picked some different exercises to mix in. I think it's a good idea to have at least 2 different routines so I make sure I can get alllll the muscles targeted at some point.

Straight Leg Alternating Toe Touches: 20, 15, 10
For the leg press and calf press, I've decided I don't trust the resistance that's written on the machine because it just doesn't seem right (167 lbs). So instead I'm just writing the weight of the plates I added so I can track it more accurately.
My legs aren't nearly as tired today as they were after the last leg workout I did, so I think this doesn't work me quite as hard as the other one did. I think that's probably a good thing so I can still work my legs without almost overworking them every single time I have a lower body day. Still haven't figured out what I want to do tonight for my second upper body day routine but I'll make a post tomorrow morning and you'll find out what I did!

I know she's more slender in canon but I have a this thing for Sakura looking adorable and petite when she's all covered up, especially in her lab coat, and looking jacked when she takes it off. The fact that she can cause earthquakes with her punches and have the muscles to prove it is so 👌👌. Especially an older and more seasoned Sakura.
Just because she's busy being a mother and konoha's top medical ninja doesn't mean she'll willingly skip her regular arm day exercises. Probably exchanges workout tips with Lee every now and then. Time has lessened her exasperation and now she's slightly more eager to be his occasional workout buddy.
I have to include sasusaku as well so of course he'll be there appreciating the view while Sarada is in constant awe at her mother's physique.

Are all the akatsuki members underweight? I remember reading that Hidan weighed around 57kg at 177cm and that Kakuzu weighed less than 65kg at 185 cm which is wild
Tbh I can’t tell if it’s because it’s a manga and Kishimoto just made everyone weigh less than what is realistic or if it’s because Kakuzu is mainly made up of threads so he doesn’t weigh that much
When thinking about these things, you need to take into account:
1. Averages for the country of origin.
Different regions have different distributions for traits like this. Averages vary based on what they are in comparison to. An average in one place will be seen as "abnormal" in a different place. So like, people from Nothern China tend to be, on average, taller than people in Southern China, so on and so forth.
2. Time period.
Naruto takes place in a psudo-feudal type Japan setting. The distribution for weight and height used to be different if you take the era into account. (If you are a keener, you can do a nutritional thought exercise based on what people commonly ate in feudal Japan, but I'm not good at it, and my weightlifting friends who know nutrition have weird regiments.)
3. Target audience for the story
This is the main explanation, but when you are creating a story with an audience of teenagers in mind, you need to take into account how they perceive the world. It doesn't have to be ultra-realistic. It can just exist to be related to by a teenager. It's part of the reason protags and all the characters are so young. On average, people tend to enjoy things where they can establish a quick connection to the character. To them, smaller numbers make more sense and are easier to comprehend.
Think of when you were 13 watching Naruto and thought 35-year-old Sasori was an old, ancient man. To how now, you look at the ages and height/weight ratios like, "This makes no sense/is concerning."

ATTENTION GYM BROS AND OTHER MEATHEADS...i need advice. ive started going to the gym and it feels so wonderful and i get so happy that after about an hour i have to MAKE myself leave the gym because i don't want to over-exert myself. and i have 2 questions i need advice on:
1. is it bad to drink the day before going to the gym / the day of going to the gym? i've been going saturday mornings, but the weekends are also when i drink, so i may switch to a week day just to give my body time to rejuvenate without having to process alcohol?
2. i tried an ab workout for the first time this past week that i loved, but now my abs are sore a few days later...did i overdo the workout? should my muscles be sore? i feel like i just need to do fewer reps. but then when do i know i can do more reps?

I've been starting to modify my workout routine away from the bro-split (one muscle group a day 5 days a week) to a push+pull-legs sorta split. I've ended up with a push / legs / pull / arms+abs routine for now.
