HxHBB2023 Reveal!
HAPPY REVEAL DAYYYYY!!!! Here is my fic for the 2023 Big Bang!
When an infant is left mysteriously on the steps of the Hunters' Association, it only makes sense that Leorio, the junior Zodiac with a soft heart, be the one assigned to babysit for the time being. Leorio realizes why she's been left in the Association's protection when her eyes turn a brilliant scarlet. He calls Kurapika immediately.
Now the no-longer-last of the Kurta must decide what is more important: avenging the slain Kurta clan and giving up its future, or taking care of this child with Leorio's unwavering help and letting go of its brutal past?
Leorio will fight as much as he can- with his words, his knowledge, and above all his devotion- to convince Kurapika to live for the child's sake. And if he wishes that maybe Kurapika will stay for him too, well... That's ok, right? He's allowed to dream.

Hi! 😅 What is your least favorite stereotype or generalization about Killugon/Leopika that you see often in the Hunter x Hunter fandom? It doesn’t have to be the most common ones, you can say some that you just personally don’t agree with!

Sorry it's taken me a couple of days to get to this - mainly because I actually couldn't think of an answer. I don't see much I object to on my dash and I'm fine with people having different head canons from me - I guess most of the time I'm fairly easy going.
Having said that, one head canon that's pretty common is Leopika acting as parents towards Killugon. (I'm not sure if that's what you mean by stereotype or generalisation, but it's something many people seem to enjoy.) I personally really don't like this one! Because to me, the friendship between the main four is one of equals and respect, not a parent/child thing. If anything, Gon and Kurapika have had some issues in common, and both Killua and Leorio have wanted to help each one of them find a better way.
As a parent myself, the last thing I see is any of those four being a parent to any other of them!
I guess another generalisation is that Gon is selfish, but these days I see more people defending Gon than actually believing that's his personality. Gon is very kind, goes out of his way to help others, and like many of us (definitely me), can also become extremely focussed on his goal to the exclusion of all else. That focus can become selfish and blind him to others. (I relate.) But that's not his heart in my opinion. Gon is deeply caring and that is also where some of that focus (and anger) comes from, when those he loves are harmed. There's way more to this than I'm going to attempt to get into here (and others have written a great deal about it). Suffice to say that not everything is black and white, plus people are flawed, and Togashi is really good at showing nuance and subverting tropes. To say Gon is selfish and leave it there is inadequate and gives a false impression in my opinion.

Hello! Hmmm honestly there's not many things that I actively don't like about the fandom's headcanons for the main four.
I think for killugon, the main thing I see that I disagree with is Gon ending up taller than Killua as adults. Like, both Killua's parents are soooooooooo tall and meanwhile Ging is like...half their size lol. Killua would naturally be taller, I think. And slimmer, whereas Gon would be built like a thick tree trunk XD
I also don't love the idea of either Killua or Gon growing out their hair - Killua, because I think that would make him look like his dad and he would actively not want that, and Gon because I just don't think he would look as good haha.
And finally I just don't see them calling each other by anything other than their names. I don't mind it when I see it but I personally never have them call each other honey/babe/etc after getting together because I don't think it's too in character. The closest thing to either of them having a nickname is Gon saying Killua's name as 'Ki-llu-a'.
Leopika..............I don't really think much about them unfortunately ^^; I can see why people like them together but their relationship doesn't hold a lot of interest for me so I actually have zero thoughts on them lol
But really I'm good with most headcanons! The above was all I could think of after wracking my brains for a few days

Here’s my take on some popular Hunter x Hunter theories. I hope you enjoy!
1. Gon Doesn’t Have A Biological Mother/Ging Pregnancy Card Theory.
Oh lord, already jumping the gun on these bizarre theories! My intake on this is—why?
First of all, I did my research and found all of the information that I could regarding this theory and—it makes sense. It makes horrible sense.
Ging Freecss, when he was Twenty years old, created the popular and very expensive game called Greed Island. This game is very well-known among the Hunters, and is worth about 9 billion Jenny, which is A LOT! Ging Freecss is the father of Gon Freecss, the protagonist of the show. So far, we have very little to no information on Gon’s mother. The only information we have on his mother is on episode twelve of season two. And on episode eleven when Killua asks Gon about his mother. He said that he didn’t know, but assumed she died in a car crash-hence the lie that Aunt Mito told him about both of his parents. Honestly, I think this theory is heavily implied, and it’s a great possibility, I mean, why else would there even be a Pregnancy Stone Greed Island card if it didn’t have any use?
This is the definition of the card:
Regardless of being male of female.
First of all, mpreg is canon in hxh, second of all, if Ging made this card, why? Just why? Also regarding the panda red herring, in a Ging mobage card he is seen with a panda, and within beating the GI game, you can bring three cards into the “real world.” The panda doll Ging uses as a stand-in in the Election Arc is almost certainly proof that Ging is using/has used at least one of the cards IN REAL LIFE.
Note the phrase “they are excellent at taking care of human children.”
The only downside to this theory is in a magazine(?) Togashi has confirmed that Ging has a wife. Maybe it’s taboo, but who knows? What are your thoughts on this theory?
2. Feitan Is A Zoldyck.
First thoughts? No. No way. Just cause they look alike does not mean that they’re related!!
Yes, he looks like a skinny version of Milluki, yes they have the same eyes, yes they have they claws…fuck.
Maybe they are related.
BUT BUT BUT—!! Feitan is a black-haired transmuter. That’s not right because every silver-haired Zoldyck is a transmuter, and every black-haired Zoldyck is a manipulator. So, my opinions on this theory is no, I don’t think he’s related!
Kurapika Will Become Woble’s Caretaker
WOAH WOAH WOAH!! This is a change!
Okay, in the current “Succession Contest Arc,” Kurapika is hired to protect Queen Oito and her baby, Woble. Of course, Woble and Kurapika’s relationship throughout the manga is endearing and wholesome. Many theorized that it would make sense if Oito is killed during this arc, leaving Woble in the care of Kurapika. Plus, this would pose an interesting conflict for Kurapika's character as he would have to choose between revenge and taking care of Woble.
Maybe this could work? But there are also others who would take in Woble, so why Kurapika? Because character arcs, duh! I feel like this could be a good character development for Kurapika…also Leopika parents? 0.0
PLEASE?!

Tumblr only just showed me that @ksjundel2003 tagged me with this just now, as technology does. I'll always take the chance to ramble (also thank u for the compliment ahhh :D). These ended up being essays hahahaaaha
1. Three Ships: Uhhh so I'm in a weird place where I'm not actively shipping anything. Like don't get me wrong I still love many ships (I'm a super multi shipper, I have no idea how people dedicate their online everything to one ship) I'm just currently not actively pursuing certain ship tags rn... Hmm hxh's return reminded me of how much I love Leopika, I got into fe3h in this last year and I've read a silly amount of dimiclaude. Also finally got around to getting into mp100 and Terumob is so cute.
Genshin thats what people are here for but if I'm honest while I still am very into the game, I haven't read genshin fic consistently for a while and thats how I interact with shipping the most. Like I love Chili, theres a reason I have plans for that ship, but I haven't read a fic with them in forever (and in the more recent examples it was me searching for found fam harb content). I also adore Kaebedo but same story. I love a lot of genshin ships, many 'contradictory' (love Zhongven as well for example), I just haven't been brainrotting about any of them for a while. God that sounds so morose pfft, its really me just letting my brain take a break and experience other things! Also just know I do think about the final planned Zhongli and Childe scene in this fic (well for the main fic at least) every once in a while and grin like a loon. Hehehe I love it so much and rip its so far away (though also once I get there it'll be right near the end and that thought makes me sad).
Also I think about my fic specific ships a lot too. Sandy and Nella for example have a scene that brings me much amusement in a couple chapters (those 2 always bring me joy). Also I've been recently thinking about the ot3 that's a big old spoiler. There's this angsty but also hopeful romantic scene that's been banging around in my head that I literally can't use in my fic it doesn't work with the timeline. But I love it, maybe an eventual bonus chap. (all I'll say on this ot3 is that at least 1 person is a harb). And taras x any harb that isn't his bro, my favorite running gag I take too seriously. Also Madame Volkov x Tsar, I can't wait to reveal why that ship cracks me up (also weirdly angsty).
uhhh that was way too long of an answer um sorry.
2. First ever ship: God I don't know. Probably amuto from Shugo Chara (I was elementary/middle school, the age gap did not clock as weird then). However my first ship with taste was Soulsilvershipping from pokemon (god we need to bring back that ship name format, so fun). I didn't have fictional crushes the same way most seemed to, however what was close enough was Silver Pokemon my beloved. He spawned my love of grumpy long haired red heads so when I saw Diluc for the first time I remember going fuck I'm gonna love him (and I did haha).
3. Last song: uhhh fun fact I'm not a music person at all. As a child I hated it pfft, while I grew out of that I still have no idea what I'm doing with it. 90% of the music I listen to is from animatics (and back in the day from amvs) or musicals because plot. And u know u find a lot of musicals because of animatics its a cycle. However saying that I was listening to Ricky Montgomery, idk why.
4. Last movie: my parents were like we're watching a movie as a fam and in true Christmas spirit we watched Top Gun Maverick pfft. tbh the movie was fine but not the stunning piece of cinema everyone seemed to be saying... also super military propaganda but we all knew that
5. Currently reading? I'm catching up on the Ascendance of a Bookworm Light Novels (I'm on the last book in part 4 and I have part 5 #1 ready). I've also been really slowly reading through (and got back into after almost a year accidental break) Lout of the Counts Family. Also hunter x hunter (my brain is filled with Sheila theories, despite being the Harbinger found fam fic writer I don't care about the troop lol, just Sheila). I also have some DC comics open in my tabs because I want to watch the newest comicpop back issues episode. Its sort of strange I've been on a reading fan fic break of sorts haha, reading lots of original stuff.
6. Currently watching? uhhhh Mob Psycho though that just ended. Also me and my sis are watching Miraculous together. We used to watch it years ago and we are watching all the stuff we missed and cringing. I also am constantly watching lots of video essays, love a good video essay to put on while doing other things like playing genshin/art/etc
7. Currently consuming? We have a holiday party every year and my dad makes his amazing to die for lasagna (we are not remotely italian, but everyone we know says its amazing). So I've been eating those leftovers and having a time.
8. Currently craving? validation uhhh free time maybe. I had so much free time while I was away at school (well more like I should have been working on stuff time, but it was time I could organize myself). I'm home and between Christmas and parties and my grandparents/Cousins/feels like everyone visiting I've had no time for myself. I love seeing my cute baby cousins I don't get to see too often but its a lot. Also a job, I don't want to have to job but it'll get my mother off my case.
Well that ended on a too serious note haha. Also this was way too long and I have no idea who to tag and I'm anxious so uh, no one I guess. I must now return to my chaotic life, as one does.

Ask Prince Shalnark Submissions (Royal Fantasy HxH AU)
Stuff to know about this AU (I wont be drawing it because I hate to draw but maybe sometimes I’ll draw it-)
Obviously Shalnark is a prince, he and 3 other kingdoms rule over the Continent of Neniara
In this place there are four races. The humans, the vampires, the werewolves, and the warlocks/witches.
Shalnark is the prince of the Humans, Feitan is the king of the Vampires, Uvogin is the prince, soon to be king of Werewolves, and Chrollo is the King of Witches & Warlocks.
The four kingdoms were always at war but Shalnark’s parents wanted peace between all four races so they started a peace treaty, and Shalnark is now to get married to Uvogin (I made a sister for Shalnark so she’ll rule over the Humans) in order to keep peace between the humans and werewolves while Feitan and Chrollo are still thinking about it.
And I hope we can develop the story from there with your wonderful questions about the AU

Kurapika was so tired he reckoned he could fall asleep standing if he just tried. But he didn’t. There was still so much to do and rest was a luxury he couldn’t afford.
Life on the Black Whale was always hectic and though Kurapika had chosen this himself, he sometimes fantasized how his life would have been if he hadn’t become a hunter. If his clan was still alive. If Pairo was still alive.
Without paying much attention to the people he passed in the lit up corridor, his mind supplied him with images of a casual life he would never get.
Kurapika saw himself in a small house with a little garden. He had no idea how to even keep a cactus alive, but he could learn, how hard could it even be to keep a garden? Kurapika had always loved reading and he could see himself writing books about the travels he made, it would be a nice source of income. Then he would spend his downtime on the porch, drinking ice tea in the summer, cicadas would cry and he would hear Pairo bustling around in the house next door. His parents would live just a bit further into the village, spending their later years just taking it easy.
Yeah, Kurapika could see himself enjoying that kind of lifestyle. No fights, no training, no revenge, just normal. As normal as the sounds of his childhood forest, the smell of the wildflowers and the lanky dark haired man making dinner in their kitchen. Yes, he couldn’t help imagining Leorio living there with him. He was sure Leorio would appreciate the calm village life as well.
Just thinking about it made his lips turn upward in a small smile, a smile he probably wouldn’t have noticed unless—
“Have I entered an alternate universe or did you really just crack a smile for me?”
A familiar voice brought him back from his fantasy all too soon, but looking up at the grinning man before him, Kurapika didn’t mind.
“Ha.ha. Very funny, Leorio,” Kurapika tried to scowl but it was hard with his heart still filled with the warm emotions of his daydream and his eyes full of the sight of Leorio where he was leaning against the doorframe of the medical ward.
“Not funny,” Leorio’s eyes seemed to sweep over his whole body. “Beautiful,” he clarified.
It took a moment or two for Kurapika’s mind to catch up to the implication of that statement, and when it did he could feel blood rushing to his face. Quickly he averted his gaze and prayed his eyes hadn’t turned as red as his cheeks.
Leorio just laughed, a genuine laugh that made Kurapika’s heart skip a beat. The effect Leorio could have on Kurapika was as infuriating as it was endearing.
Before Kurapika had the chance to retort, someone called for Leorio’s attention and Kurapika knew they both had to return to business.
“Don’t forget our dinner tonight,” Leorio reminded him. “Sunshine.”
“I won’t.” Now Kurapika was scowling, all to hide his embarrassment over the other’s open display of feelings.
Another laugh escaped Leorio as he made his way back into the medical wing.
As soon as Leorio was out of sight, Kurapika’s earlier smile returned and he even felt reenergized.
He may not have the life he had imagined, but at least he had Leorio, and Leorio was irreplaceable.

So bearing in mine crack ships and rare ships seem to be my bread and butter, especially if a fic can make a reasonable argument for them...
I both love and hate how as a quartet, Kurapika, Leorio, Hisoka, and Illumi somehow work? At the VERY least as some weird ass friendship that Killua & Gon just stare at going “???????”
And like, when it comes to Hisoka, we know Kurapika has gotten into contact with him and I feel like still gets random texts. Even when Kurapika changes his number. Kurapika never responds, but while some of the texts are disturbing, others do get a snort out of him. (And sometimes it’s the disturbing texts that do that but he’s totally doing fine.)
Leorio has sadly been put on a bus for awhile, but we know that fucking serial murdering clown Hisoka decided that “Nah, this one I’m gonna keep alive” in the Hunter Exam. One could argue plot armor, but mysterious reasons that Hisoka refuses to give up no matter how many times Leorio presses him are even better. Also I feel like they’d relate to each other on the most random shit and every time Leorio has to do a double take.
HisoIllu is such a fave ship, I don’t really need to go into those two, nor do I really need to go into LeoPika.
Illumi is where things get interesting. Mainly because personally I think in order for him to get closer to Leorio and Kurapika, he needs a few reality checks. Now, I don’t believe he just mindlessly follows what his parents say. His actions are mostly in line with his parent’s views, though his desire for more power as well as his desire to protect Killua means he will sometimes take a few extra steps more in line with his own goals.
Basically an outside character, most likely keeping an eye out for Killua, needs to call Illumi out on, “You’re causing more harm than good.” and “Is this really the life you want?” and “No seriously, what you’re doing is just plain stupid you’re making Killua hate you, even if he does do what your parents want and become head of household he’d have every right to kill you for how you’ve hurt him don’t be fucking stupid.”
Anyways. Outside character. Leorio can work for this, or even Hisoka (though his concept of normal is...warped). But given how the Zoldycks seem to use similar uh, upbringing tactics as Evangelicals, I’d argue that an older character would be more effective in getting Illumi to wise up. (It’s the whole obedience thing) I don’t think the Zoldycks have the whole “men are superior to women” thing, so can be an older female character.
So, have someone like Bisky, Morel, even an OC start Illumi on some character development, and now we’re cooking.
For starters, Hisoka gets to be slightly less done with this dipshit.
Then, Illumi tries reaching out to Killua in ways that are awkward as fuck as far as everyone else is concerned.
Which means Leorio gets to stare at Illumi wondering why this is his fucking life and getting Illumi to try in...slightly more normal ways. Which can lead to some chats, especially as some here on tumblr have helped established that when not on the job, and talking to someone he trusts? Illumi can go on.
Kurapika is initially wary, but I think between being incredibly obvservant, and a very dark sense of humor that would have developed while neck deep in mafia bs (he’s totally doing fine btw) there’d be some uh. Gore-y convos? Also nen discussions. Leorio eventually drags Kurapika away so the dude can have a breakdown, but even if he gets therapy, I feel like Illumi and Kurapika would also connect on arguably random things.
Also I’d note, that not only are these characters more mature/older, but they are all intensely loyal in ways both obvious and subtle. Which as HxH loves to point out narratively, can be both a character trait and a character flaw.
