Elflari, the Budding Alchemist
This sketch is of Elflari a few months after she met Belderchal, who encouraged her to appreciate herself and start dressing up in cuter clothes, as well as growing her hair out. She used to have eyebags from her depressing dead-end job where she was treated poorly.
She didn't have a purpose in her life before, but her curiosity lead her into the field of alchemy. This includes foraging, gardening, and casting some basic spells! She decided to devote herself to the craft and doesn't know any offensive magic; Her specialty is enchantments.
Using her ingredients, as well as any strange creatures Bel managed to bring back to her, she conducts extreme experiments to raise her alchemy to new heights. It's quite uncharacteristic of her, being someone who is usually reserved and shy, but something about experiments flips a switch on in her brain.
She's also a skilled chef due to her time at her old job, so at least something good came out of that. Her prep-skills are unparalleled and her flavors immaculate. She keeps trying to bring her culinary skills to new heights due to the reactions she gets out of Bel enjoying her food.

OTD in Music History: The immortal Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840 – 1893) is born in what is now the Udmurt Republic, a federal subject of Russia. Tchaikovsky is undoubtedly the most popular Russian composer of all time. Although he has sometimes drawn scorn from critics and academics, his music has always held great appeal for the general public because of its incredible melodic inspiration, lush (and often surprising) harmonies, and colorful orchestration. Although Tchaikovsky did not seriously begin studying music until his early 20s -- and although he died in his early 50s -- he composed prolifically and managed to produce 20 choral works, 11 overtures, 11 operas, 7 symphonies, 5 suites, 4 cantatas, 3 ballets, 3 piano concertos, 3 string quartets, a violin concerto, a string sextet, and more than 100 individual smaller songs and piano pieces. Tchaikovsky's work can admittedly be rather uneven in quality, but, as often as not, he achieved a remarkable unity of melodic and harmonic inspiration, dramatic content, and (sufficient) mastery of form -- and his finest masterpieces easily elevate him into the first rank of history's great "classical" composers. PICTURED: A nice 1890’s cabinet photograph of Tchaikovsky, which he signed and dated on June 7, 1893 – just five months after the world premiere of “The Nutcracker,” and just five months before his sudden and untimely death in November 1893. Per the date of the inscription, Tchaikovsky signed this photograph while he was visiting Britain (from May 25 – June 30, 1893) to receive an honorary Doctorate from Cambridge University. His distinguished musical colleagues Camille Saint-Saens (1835 – 1921), Max Bruch (1838 – 1920), Arrigo Boito (1842 – 1918), and Edvard Grieg (1843 – 1907) (who was not able to attend due to illness) were also awarded honorary Doctorates at the same ceremony, which took place on June 13th. A photograph of Tchaikovsky dressed up in his ceremonial garb and preparing to receive his Doctorate at the ceremony is included at the end of this photo set.

My Hot-Take/Controversial Ranking of Doctor Who Seasons (excluding specials bc my special order is really unhinged)
3 > 1 > 10 > 4 > 5 > 8 > 11 > 12 > 9 > 7b > 2 > 6 > 13 = 7a
Disclaimer: I have favorite episodes that come from every single season on this list, including 7a. For example, even though Season 6 is low on the list, the God Complex, Almost People/Rebel Flesh, and Impossible Astronaut are some of my favorite of the show. I do really love the Power of Three. These are based on season arc/average feeling per episode/rewatchability on a subjective level.
#doctor who#listen seasons 1 and three are basically perfect television for me#season 10 is one of the most fun of the show and bill is my second favorite companion and I love the twelve/missy arc#season 4 is full of banger after banger and journey's end slaps it just doesn't quite hit for me personally like seasons 1 3 and 10 do#season 5 has some episodes i don't like (victory of the daleks for example) but the fairytale vibes/beast below/amy's choice/big bang SLAP#Season 8 has some great episodes/good arc but i just really don't vibe with how cruel the Doctor is sometimes/Danny deserved better#Season 11 (other than fucking kerblam) i really enjoy! it has some weak writing in places but i love graham&ryan's arc & the smaller vibes#Season 12 is objectively better than season 11 but has weaker character arcs and some weaker episodes so eh#season 9 has one of the best finales in the show/some fun two-parters (i adore under the lake/before the flood) but the arcs feel off#7b is...fun & i like a lot of the episodes but i don't like the name/day/time of the doctor & it drags it down + clara's not fleshed out#season 2 is so good in places (cybermen 2-parter/school reunion/new earth) but has so many weak episodes & not as much character developmen#season 6...I love some episodes but I DESPISE the pregnancy arc/let's kill hitler/wedding of river song & how little agency Amy & river hav#season 13 is just...FINE. I enjoy some of the side characters (vinder bel karvanista) but the flux itself felt weirdly...boring? no emotion#(Jodie was SO GOOD in this season though btw)#and season 7a...asylum of the daleks dinosaurs on a spaceship & angels take manhattan are on my least favorite episodes list. like bottom 1#and I'm sorry but a town called mercy and power of three can't save that#amy and rory should have left with the god complex/christmas special and popped back like martha did in season 4#i said what i said#wow i really went off in the tags on this one#meta#rankings

Sand on cheeks (pt. 2)
Percy Jackson x reader
m.list pt.1
warnings: none
disclaimer: this is also on wattpad as Sand on Cheeks
Tumblr media
I thanked the gods as Percy didn't ask again.
I slipped out of my camp t-shirt, revealing my swimsuit.
I set down my beach bag carrying towels, snacks and a bottle of water on the dock.
Percy and I used to hang out here a lot, a less popular side of the lake with a tiny dock.
"Hey," I called out as I heard footsteps behind me, "Did you bring the jelly beans?" Percy asked.
"Wow, not even a hi?" I teased as I grabbed a few bags a blue jelly beans from my bag. Percy started shoving the beans in his mouth like a starved man, I let out a little laugh.
With my hair still in the bun from earlier, I jumped into the lake, Percy jumped in right behind me.
We somehow got into a water- splashing fight, "Fine! Fine! You win!" I yelled as I turned away from him, rubbing the water out of my eyes.
I turned back to him, smiling, just to see his oh-so- pretty eyes staring at me, his lips bearing the prettiest smile, his dimples so visible and so cute-
"Quit staring," I splashed his face with water again, "You look prettier like this," he said, smiling. "Like what?" I frowned. "Without makeup," he smirked.  "How do you know I'm not wearing makeup?" I frowned again, "Well, your skin is.. I don't know, clearer? Shinier? Your eyes look bigger, you look a lot more energised. You just look.. better. And no offence to your makeup skills, I know you do your sibling's makeup and they look great, but I think makeup just doesn't suit you. You should stop straightening your hair too, your hair looks better in its natural curl. You remember when you hair straightener 'mysteriously disappeared'? I stole it." He gave me a cheeky smile. I opened my mouth to speak, but I couldn't get the words out.  "Thanks," I muttered, a blush blooming on my cheeks. "You're welcome," he said, splashing me with water to break the tension.
I swam into the deeper parts of the lake, descending myself into the water, drowning out the distant chatter of the campers.
I came back up for air, scanning for Percy. But he wasn't where I last saw him, in fact, he wasn't anywhere. "Per-" a pair of hands dragged me down into the water. I tried to yell, but ended out drinking a ton of lake water instead.
I shot up once the hands let me go, and blinked the water out of my eyes.
"Got 'cha," he said with a smirk on his face.
"Oh my gods- I'm gonna kill you!" I yelled.
We spent the rest of the day at the lake.
-
I grabbed two towels from my bag, one pink and one blue. I handed Percy the blue one as I wrapped the pink one around my body.
I shoved a few jelly beans into my mouth and took a sip of iced water from my metal water bottle. "Can I have some water?"Percy asked as he sat down on the dock, "I only have one bottle," I frowned.
"That's okay," he said as he stood up, walked over to me and grabbed my water bottle. He opened the lip and took a large sip.
"We should probably head back, the sun is setting," I said, gesturing at the sunset.
Percy nodded, as he gathered everything I’d laid out and put it back into my bag.
“I had a lot of fun today,” Percy said as he folded his wet towel, “We haven’t hung out like that in a while, not since-” he stopped himself.
“Yeah, I had fun.” I said, already knowing what he meant.
Is it selfish.. of me to wish that Annabeth never came along?
Everything would have been-
“You ready to go?” Percy said, snapping me out of my thoughts for the nth time today.
“Yeah,” I said with a nod.
Percy was still shirtless.
He nodded and turned to walk back towards camp, and gods-
The way his muscles-
Gods, stop thinking about Percy’s muscles.
“So I’ll see you tonight at the campfire?” Percy asked.
“Mhm,” I waved him goodbye.
He waved back, and his shoulders-
I turned away.

summary: au based on seven by Taylor Swift

-
In the stillness, as everyone on the boat holds their breath, the dark lake water looks like a pane of black glass. Ten seconds pass. Twenty. Thirty.
Come on, Harrington.
It holds unwavering for a full forty seconds before the first bubbles break through the surface. And then, a blur of skin, and a splash, and Steve grabs for the edge of the boat as he catches his breath.
“I found it,” he says, once he’s capable of speaking.
“You found it?” Robin asks.
“I found it,” he says. His gaze skates over you and darts back, like he’s surprised you’re still here. Though, considering you’re on a small boat in the middle of a pitch-black lake, you’re not sure where the hell else you would be.
Maybe he’s just surprised you’re still here in general. You know you are.
Ten years ago, if Steve Harrington was on an adventure, you’d bet all you had you were by his side. Now, though, he was just a face in old photographs and a name in childhood stories that still hurt to tell.
“It’s pretty wild,” he says. “It’s more of a snack-size gate than the mama gate, but still, it’s pretty damn big.” A smile ghosts his lips, and—
Steve disappears under the surface without a sound, something in the darkness yanking.
And all hell breaks loose, if it hasn’t already.
You don’t realize you’re on your feet until Eddie Munson asks, “Wait, wait, what the hell are you doing?”
The surface settles over the place Steve disappeared, and with every passing second, panic flares to life under your skin.
There is no sugar coating it, even to yourself. All that waits under the lake’s surface are monsters and blood and death. But Steve is down there, too. And he took a stupid leap once for you. The least you can do is return the favor.
“I’m going after him,” you say, pushing to your feet and peeling off your hoodie. Nancy is quick to her feet behind you. Robin shifts in her seat, like she’s a breath from doing the same thing.
“You’re what?” Eddie asks. “Hold up—”
You step up to the edge of the boat, take a deep breath, and dive overboard.
The long branch cracked under your sneakers, and you smacked into the ground right on your elbow. The cracking noise, followed by the pain, pulled a scream out of you.
Steve, who’d been in the tree with you, materialized at your side—it seemed instantaneous, but you realized with a start that it was raining, and it hadn’t been last time you blinked.
“Shit,” he said. “Shit.” Nine years old, and swear words were his favorite words. This situation at least warranted it. “What hurts?”
You lifted your arm, barely holding back a scream as the throbbing pain rose in protest.
“It’s—my arm—“ Tears and snot made it hard to speak, and though part of you expected Steve to make fun of you, he looked like he was going to vomit long before he laughed.
“Don’t move it.” Steve seemed to age ten years instantly, face stern as he helped you sit up in the grass. He eased up your sleeve, wincing when you did, and frowned at the already-blooming bruises in the center of your forearm.
“You have to tell your parents,” Steve said, grimacing as he did. Back then, the scariest thing to you both was a little, or a lot, of scolding.
His words only made you cry harder.
“No—” You hiccuped. “If—I—tell them, I’ll get—in trouble.”
Steve sat back. You were usually the problem solver of the two, but at the moment, he was all you had. It would have to be enough.
“Not if we’re both hurt,” he said, already standing up. “If we tell them the branch fell on us both.”
You sniffled. “But it didn’t.”
Steve gave you what he hoped was a believable smile. “Maybe it did.”
And it didn’t matter that Steve’s parents, his father, would be much angrier than yours ever could be. It didn’t even matter that their story wasn’t believable in the slightest.
What mattered then, and always would, was that you and Steve faced it together.
So, he climbed up the tree, eased out onto another branch, and jumped.
Steve doesn’t hide his limp or the tiny, restrained inhales as you make your way to Skull Rock as well as he thinks he does. The moment the haggard group slows to a stop, you take Steve by the arm and drag him under the arching black rock.
“What are you—”
“A horde of demonic bats just used you as their personal chew toy, Steve,” you say. “And we’re walking around a place  that’s infested with who knows what bacteria. Unless you want to die of sepsis.”
“I’m fine,” Steve says.
“You are so not.”
“I don’t need your help,” Steve protests.
“Clearly.” You scoff and shrug out of your longsleeve shirt, leaving only a tank top. Steve’s eyes just about pop out of his skull, which he doesn’t hide very well, either. With a snort, you rip the sleeves of your tee, pulling one in half, into a thick strip. “You didn’t need my help the first time monsters from another dimension tried to end the world.” Another strip. “Or the second.” Another. “Or the third. How many times, was it? I lost track.” You cock your brows. “You didn’t need me then. So, why would you need me now.”
“That’s not fair.”
“Arms up,” you say, instead of acknowledging him.
Steve stares at you for a beat before he gives up, huffing a breath and raising his arms with a wince.
“This is going to hurt,” you warn.
Steve folds his hands behind his head, and nods. “Just do it,” he says through gritted teeth.
The sound he makes when the fabric first hits the mess of his stomach cuts straight through your chest, but just as you open your mouth to apologize, he says, “It’s okay,” like you already did.
An old feeling, one that got buried under time and the mistakes you both made, rushes back to the surface. Once upon a time, Steve Harrington was the prince in every story. Then you grew up, and you realized he was just a person. But you were just a person, too. And people fuck up or they drift too far or they say stupid things, or they say nothing at all.
You lift your eyes to his, and find him already watching you. His lips part, like he’s going to say something, but nothing comes out.
You turn your attention back to tying off the fabric wrapped around his torso.
“You should survive the next few hours,” you say, clearing your throat and shifting back. “Just, try not to do anything else heroic, will you?”
“No promises” A smile twitches on Steve’s lips, gone as fast as it comes. “Why’d you do it?” he asks.
You’d be a fool not to know what he’s talking about, but you pretend, still.
“You’re going to have to be specific,” you say. “I’ve done a lot.”
Steve snorts softly. He swallows. “I know you came through the gate first,” he says, and you’re grateful for the eternal darkness of this place, because you can’t imagine your expression looks impassive in the lights.
“I don’t—”
Steve shakes his head. “Don’t.” It’s more of a plea than a command. “You followed me, even though you had no clue what was down here. You just—” He shakes his head again. “Jumped.”
“You weren’t exactly going for a leisurely swim. You got dragged under.” You chew on the inside of your cheek for a beat, gathering the courage to add, “And it’s not like you’ve never done the same for me.”
Steve’s bloody, grime-covered hand drifts over his left elbow, and your right forearm twinges in sympathy. Two casts, one green, one blue. When you both walked out of your separate doctor’s offices, Steve had raised his casted-arm and smiled, like it was some inside joke.
He lets out a soft laugh. “That damn tree.”
“Yeah, I don’t think we can blame the tree for that one.”
For a moment, it feels like being ten again, easy and uncomplicated, but the silence thickens, and when Steve tears his gaze away, you’re glad.
“Thank you,” he says.
“Yeah. No problem.”
He clears his throat, raking a hand through his hair. You wonder if he’s feeling the same you are—eager to walk away but somehow also desperate to stay.
“For what it’s worth, Steve…” You press your lips together. Force yourself to look at him. “I’ll always follow you.”
Steve’s brows twitch, and a long time ago, you might have been able to decipher his expression. But before you even get a chance, Nancy calls, “It’s not a jungle gym, Munson! Quit exploring!” and the moment breaks.
Both your parents kept their conversations low enough to keep you and Steve from hearing, but at twelve, you were old enough to sense something was off. Steve told you his mom barely said a word as she drove him to your house just past ten o’clock, on a school night. Your own parents said merely that Steve was staying the night, and would catch a ride to school tomorrow on the bus with you.
“They were fighting again,” Steve said from his blanket palette on the floor, once the rest of the house fell silent. “My mom’s going to stay with her parents for a few days.”
You frowned, looking up at the glow-in-the-dark stars on your ceiling, like there was an answer to Steve’s problems in the abstract constellations.
“I’m sorry,” you said.
“At least she didn’t take me with her,” he said. “Or make me stay at home.”
“What about your grandma’s meatloaf?” you asked, because you knew it would make Steve grunt and groan. And it did, and you both laughed, but the silence slid back into place faster than it used to.
“Whatever,” you said. “You can just stay here.”
“On the floor?” he asked. You could hear the smile in his voice.
“Or in the attic.”
“Deal,” Steve said. You knew he meant it, too—that under the jokes, you were building a fantasy to fall into.
But like most kids do, Steve stopped believing in fantasies and fairy tales. And eventually all he had left was an empty and haunted house.
The gas station attendant doesn’t blink when you and Steve, both covered in blood and muck, load peroxide, a mountain of gauze and bandages, and two king size candy bars onto the counter. In his defense, he’s working the only gas station this side of town at three AM on a Friday, but he barely blinks when you retreat to the dingy bathroom with your supplies.
You suggested heading to the hospital, at least for a rabies shot, to which Steve shot you the most withering look you’ve ever seen, and said he’d rather jump back into the lake. This, a nasty bathroom and a bottle of peroxide, is the compromise.
Steve’s parents aren’t home, so his house is open and empty, but neither of you suggests it. Like one of your many childhood settings is off limits at the moment.
Steve is quiet as he peels off Eddie’s vest and the soiled strips of your shirt, setting them on the sink. He doesn’t even try to hide his groans or winces anymore.
“If you won’t get this checked out, you know you’re going to have to do this, like, every day,” you say, dousing the gauze in alcohol.
Steve leans back into the sink, gritting his teeth as you bring the gauze onto his stomach. He hisses, hands flying back to grip the sink.
“I was—” He shifts, the muscles of his stomach contracting, and your lack of sleep is making it much harder to focus on the task at hand. “—jesus—” He tips his head back. Inhales. When he looks down again, he says, “I was kinda hoping you’d take point on that.”
“Oh, I’m your home health nurse, now?”
Steve’s lips turn up, and he says, “I mean, I can’t pay you in cash, but there’s a big box of otter pops in my freezer with your name on it.”
You frown, inhaling to speak, but Steve continues, “I already ate all the grape ones, but the rest are yours.”
“You and your artificial grape.” You roll your eyes, winding the gauze around Steve’s torso. He doesn’t flinch as much as he did at Skull Rock, but there’s no hiding the shivering or the bags under his eyes.
A comfortable silence takes hold while you wrap him in gauze, and though you can feel his gaze darting to and from your face, you focus on the task at hand.
“Thank you,” Steve says eventually, once you’ve tied off his gauze and he’s pulled on the two dollar tee shirt he grabbed up front. The shirt is two sizes too big, with SHELL and a logo scrawled across it. It isn’t Steve’s best look, and you wish suddenly for a camera to capture the outfit.
“Course,” you say. “Can’t let you bleed out, can I?”
Steve snorts. Falls silent. Clears his throat. “No, I mean—“ He rakes a hand through his hair. “Thank you. For coming after me. You didn’t have to. Honestly, I have no goddamn clue why you did, after everything, but… thank you.”
You swallow and nod. The words you’ve held back for years, since you and Steve ended up on forking paths, push against your teeth.
And suddenly you’re tired of holding your tongue and tired of pretending not to know Steve Harrington and just plain tired.
“You know, you used to give me all your secrets. You trusted me to hold onto them,” you say, leaning back against the cracked-tile wall, folding your arms. “But at some point, you stopped giving, and I stopped asking, and now, here we are. And I don’t even know you, anymore. How is that possible?”
Steve leans back into the sink, his fingers curled in a white-knuckle grip on the white ledge. He doesn’t speak for so long, you think he’s not going to.
“When we were kids, you made me believe that stories had happy endings,” Steve says eventually, not looking at you. “And I loved the hell out of you for it.” He swallows visibly, Adam's apple bobbing. “Then I grew up, and I realized they don’t, and I guess I was… angry at you. For making me believe in the good, when I couldn’t find it.”
His eyes dart to your face, and he says, “I know that doesn’t make any sense. It doesn’t make sense to me, either, but it’s like, you were the last good thing I had left, and I knew what happened to good things, so I…” He trails off, but you’re easily able to pick up the track.
“Leave before you get left, right?” you ask, and a hint of bitterness slips out with your words. “That’s kind of your mantra.”
Steve flinches. His eyes fall shut, and his jaw goes slack, and once again, you think he’s decided upon silence when he suddenly breaks it.
“I shouldn’t have disappeared on you,” he says.
“I shouldn’t have let you.”
You’re not sure when Steve pushed off the sink, or you off the wall, but it’s as if you blink and you’re a foot apart.
Steve chews on his bottom lip and shakes his head.
“I missed you, you know,” he says, voice barely above a whisper.
Your brows pull together. “I missed you, too.”
He shakes his head. “No—I mean… I really missed you. More than I thought I could. And I was an idiot. Still am, but at least now, I know it.” He halves the distance between you. “I don’t know how to fix this. I don’t even know how to start.” One of his hands rises to your cheek, swiping his thumb and bringing it away covered in blood. Whose, you don’t know. “I just miss you.”
When he tries to drop his hand back to his side, you catch it, pinning it midair. Steve turns to a statue, not even breathing.
“Did you mean it?” you ask. “What you said?”
“You’re gonna have to be specific,” he says, flashing you a lopsided smile. “I’ve said a lot.”
“That you loved me,” you say, willing your voice not to crack.
Steve’s pulse runs a mile a minute where your thumb is pressed into his wrist, despite his cool facade. He crinkles his nose.
“Caught that, did you?”
“Yeah,” you say. “I caught that.”
Steve lets out a long breath and says, “Of course I meant it.” He pauses. “Still do.” Another pause. “I know it’s way too late, but—”
“Steve?”
“Yeah?”
“Stop talking.”
He frowns, clearly about to do the opposite, but before he can, you curl your fingers into the fabric of his shirt, pull him toward you, and kiss him.
For a long second, he doesn’t move, and spiky, nauseating doubt unfurls in your chest. You were wrong, and he meant something different—
Then, Steve exhales against your lips, winds his arms around your waist, and kisses you back. And though you’re standing in a dirty gas station bathroom on the far side of Hawkins, it feels a lot like coming home.
There will be time to deal with what’s left of the past later. For now, though, the dirty bathroom and Steve Harrington are enough.

Note
4, 11 & 13 for the ask game! 💜
4. favourite dish specific for your country?
Fries may seem like an obvious option but specifically for a dish I may just choose Belgian endive rolled in ham in a cheese sauce. It's a very typical dish and if you do the cheese sauce right it's so delicious
Tumblr media
11. Favourite native writer/poet
Marc De Bel, who writes children's books. His books were the first I devoured and was important in making me love reading.
13. does your country (or family) have any specific superstitions or traditions that might seem strange to outsiders
There is a tradition that when the song 'Le Lac du Connemara' comes on during a wedding, we all pick up our napkins and swish it around for the duration of the song (and you hope the DJ takes mercy on you because it's 6 minutes long!). This song is about the lakes of the Connemara, a region in Ireland, sung by a Frenchman, and there is absolutely zero logic behind this tradition.

Obey Me! Nightbringer "Poison Hunting & Candy Making!" Pop Quiz
!WARNING SPOILERS FOR EVENT!
I knew this was gonna be a good event when I saw it a Bel/Beel focused event! Idk why but they have all been bangers so far! Maybe the script writer is biased...maybe I'm biased...anyways...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Starting off the brothers recive an invitation by a noble type person to visit his town. We decide to make a trip out of it. Visiting manga backdrops irl and trying regional food sounds amazing! And we got to take a train! I love trains! (Tho I do get motion sick sometimes)
I think keeping it to a small group also really benefited the event. Two older brothers taking there younger brothers on a trip. Mammon defaults to 'younger brother behavior' if Lucifer is around, but always steps up when he's the oldest. I also find even Levi is very open to this trio emotionally dispite their bickering.
Tumblr media
Candy making is such a nice touch instead of just buying candy. And they went a bit through the process! (Of this devildom candy - really candy making is a bit diffrent) Bel kept falling asleep lmao but was still sleep helping.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Omg hamster Beel!! Was a bit confused why 'poison herbs' was needed. Seemed kinda dangerous.
Tumblr media
(Beel hamster runs away and Diavolo + Barbatos catch him) I agree this is a weird set up for a shop, but it kinda ends up being beneficial to plot flow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was so funny xD The appearance of a mimic! Feeding it berries that made it cold then sneeze is an interesting way to deal with it lmao didn't really understand the whole lake situation 😅
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ahhh this so soooo cute, he gave us a ring TwT I gotta remember to draw it on my mc later 🤧
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When they decided to mix the random things we collected and hope for the best since all the herbs weren't found I was screaming. It shouldn't work that way! Then they mixed the ring gem in...whyyy how did that work?! I'm glad I got to keep the ring tho 😊
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yay cookie making again! Bel also made us cookies in one of the first Nightbringer (the chess one). Ending with a nice hug (kiss was also an option) and nap 💙🩵
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THIS IS WHY WE DON'T EAT RANDOM MUSHROOMS. (Tho the twin hug was cute...) Enjoy how Beel solved his problem himself in the end 🤣 by eating the seeds and more candy. Also less Diavolo sacrifice yourself as a taste tester and become the cat boy of your dreams! Yass King!
Overall a very fun and lighthearted event 💜
Some art I made to compare this events cookies to the chess cookies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My art style has changed quite a bit :0
'Food' mentioned in event (missed some)
blue rose crystals
hellfire malt enzymes
shadow rice/shadow rice porridge
countercurse candy
ice crystal leaves
blue berries
tail of a shadow salamander
wings of of a death mask bat
heart of a toxic chameleon
verdant brilliance (eatable??)
candy cookies
? mushroom
scorching sunflower seeds

Once Upon a Time 4x06 "Family Business" Review
Tumblr media
We learn a little more about the Snow Queen’s plans and about her past with Emma. And apparently Belle and Anna knew each other but Belle has kept it a secret from Elsa because she’s ashamed that she wanted her memories more than saving a girl she’d just met. So apparently shame is a big deterrent in not helping save Anna this time too.
Summary: The Snow Queen leads our heroes on a chase so they can see that she actually cared for Emma at one point. In the past, Belle can’t remember how her mother died in an Ogre attack, so she goes to Arendelle to visit the Rock Trolls and meets Princess Anna who is looking for information on her Aunt Ingrid.
Opening: Ice Cream Truck
New Characters:
Belle’s Mother (Colette): First off, I really thought Belle’s mother would get more air time in this episode, considering she’s played by Frances O’Connor (known for Mansfield Park, AI, The Importance of Being Earnest), but alas, she’s killed off pretty quickly. We do see where Belle gets her love of reading from, as they both try to get priceless books out of the library before the Ogre attacks them. They end up hiding under a table, and I’m confused about how he finds them. Does he hear them, because it was established that Ogres were blind back in Lady of the Lake. However he figured out where they were, Colette does not end up making it through the attack.
Character Observations:
Belle: In the past, Belle and her mother are attacked in their library by an Ogre. I get that there are priceless books in there (or in Belle’s case, the book that she remembers her mother first reading to her), but Ogres are attacking. You can come back for the books once they leave! Belle and her mother get trapped under a table and the last thing Belle remembers is the Ogre lifting the table off them and yelling in their faces. Belle awakens to find her mother is dead and she can’t remember how she died (I’m guessing an Ogre killed her). Belle is insistent in trying to recover her memories, but her father doesn’t think that’s a good idea. She tells him about magical beings who can restore memories, but he brings up the whole ‘All magic comes with a price’ line and tells her she is not to leave. Belle makes up her mind to go to Arendelle anyway, where she meets Anna at Oaken’s. Anna also happens to be going to see the Rock Trolls, so they decide to go together. They discuss the fact that they both lost their mothers, and when Anna slips trying to get up the mountain, Belle discovers the hat box (that she stole from Rumple in The Apprentice). Anna won’t give much away to Belle about the evil wizard she stole it from, just tells her she hopes she never meets him. Well, Anna, maybe if you’d given Belle a hint, she wouldn’t be married to him now! Somehow, despite the fact that they could barely make it up the first rock, they get to the top to the Rock Trolls. Grand Pabbie pulls the memory from Belle’s consciousness and puts it in a stone which he tells her to brew in tea at the place where she lost her memory (nice plot point so she can’t brew it right away), and when she drinks the tea she’ll remember what happened to her mother. On the way back down the mountain they get caught up in a storm. Anna is convinced it’s her Aunt Ingrid. When Belle asks what she’s going to do about it, Anna pulls out the hat box again and says she’s going to take her aunt’s magic. And that’s when a big gust of wind comes, knocking the memory stone out of Belle’s hand, and knocking Anna off the trail so she’s hanging off the edge of the mountain. Belle tries to go for the stone first, but it’s knocked off the edge and shatters. Then she tries to get Anna, but Anna falls. Belle witnesses the Snow Queen poof Anna away. Belle returns home and tells her father she didn’t find what she was looking for and her trip was a huge mistake. Maurice finally tells Belle what happened. That her mother stood in the path of the Ogre while the guards pulled Belle to safety, and her mother was killed before the guards could get back. Maurice tells her the war isn’t going well, and Belle suggests calling upon a powerful wizard she read about (not putting together that this might be the same wizard Anna was warning her about). Maurice knows who she is talking about and doesn’t want to call him, but Belle thinks it’s their only choice so they can win the war and so she can be a hero like her mother.
Meanwhile, in Storybrooke, Belle is keeping a secret that she knew Anna back in their realm. Elsa wants to research Arendelle in the library with Belle, which is making her very uncomfortable. Elsa starts having a crisis of faith about finding Anna, but Belle tells her she will find Anna, but she looks very guilty about the whole thing. Belle decides the best thing to do is go to the Snow Queen’s hideout, and ‘commands’ Rumple to take her to her lair using the dagger. When they get there, Rumple tells Belle that the Snow Queen isn’t there, but she’s okay with that. She’s looking for the hat to strip someone of their powers! Too bad she doesn’t know Rumple hid it away at the shop, would’ve saved her a trip. Rumple wonders why Belle is helping a stranger. She gives him the excuse that a hero always helps people. She makes Rumple keep watch while she goes inside to look for the hat box. Instead, she hears someone calling for her from behind a covered mirror. When she takes the sheet off, it’s her reflection, but it tells her things she doesn’t want to hear. Basically, all her insecurities, like that Rumple doesn’t really trust her and he didn’t give her the real dagger (listen to the mirror, Belle). Rumple comes in, warning Bell they have to leave since the Snow Queen is coming. She lashes out and cuts him with the dagger before he poofs them back to the shop. Belle starts to believe what mirror Belle said about the dagger, since she had commanded Rumple to stay outside. He gets around that by saying she said to keep watch, and since the Snow Queen was coming back, he was allowed to go in and get her. Belle breaks down when she sees she has cut him and tells him all the awful things the mirror told her. Rumple assures her none of it is true. Belle confesses that Anna is missing because of her and feels guilty for using the dagger on Rumple. She doesn’t think she’s worthy of his love. Oh, lord, if only Belle knew how it’s Rumple who isn’t worthy of her love with all of his lies, manipulation, and deceit. She then spreads on the guilt even thicker by apologizing for keeping this secret, since she knows Rumple would never keep a secret from her. UGH! Belle finally confesses to Elsa about knowing Anna and how the Snow Queen captured her. Belle tells Emma, Elsa, and Killian about the mirror. Rumple has told her that it will be used for the Spell of Shattered Sight, turning the whole town on one another.
Emma: She shows everyone the video of the Snow Queen as her foster mother. Henry suggests looking for her ice cream truck to either find her or find clues. They end up finding it out by the Merry Men’s camp. Robin wants to talk to Regina, but she rebuffs him. Emma tells her she could have been nicer, but Regina tells her to stay out of it and is upset she has to deal with her and Killian making eyes at each other. Emma protests this, but then Killian definitely makes eyes at her. Once inside the truck, neither Regina nor Killian notice the lock on the freezer (how did these two last so long as villains when they don’t even notice details?). Killian uses his hook to break the lock and they find a file on Emma inside, starting from the article on how she was found on the side of the road. Emma looks through the file and discovers she stayed with the Snow Queen for six months, the longest she’d ever stayed anywhere. Killian asks if she’s okay, but she just tells him it was a long time ago, prompting a conversation about the fact that Killian was once a child about 200 years ago. Emma realizes that the Snow Queen has kept old art projects and essays and a card Emma wrote to her, and that someone doesn’t do that unless they care about you. They also discover a scroll with Arendelle writing on it. Back at the sheriff’s station, Elsa has discovered that the Snow Queen is her aunt. She and Emma look at the family tree and discover another sister that Killian thinks looks just like Emma (I really don’t see that except for the fact that she is blonde). Elsa sees the scroll and translates it. It basically says that Emma is the Savior and will become Ingrid’s (the Snow Queen) sister. Belle comes in letting them know about the mirror and the Shattered Sight spell, and Emma and Elsa figure out that they’ll be the only two left that aren’t affected so the Snow Queen can have her family.
Ingrid/The Snow Queen: Anna is introduced to Ingrid who let’s Anna know that the reason she doesn’t know her is because she was put in an urn by people who didn’t understand her. She shows Anna that she also has the same powers as Elsa and that it runs in the family. We don’t see Ingrid again until Anna is on her way back from the Rock Trolls. Ingrid creates a storm that results in Anna falling off a mountain. Ingrid steals the hat box from Anna before poofing them back to the castle. Ingrid has Anna locked in a cell in the dungeons of the castle. She accuses Anna of wanting to strip Elsa of her powers with the hat. Anna claims she wasn’t going to use it on Elsa, but that their parents were. Anna then reveals that the Rock Trolls told her she had another sister and Ingrid gets very angry. Anna asks what Ingrid wants. Ingrid says she wanted a family that would embrace her for who she was, but she doesn’t think Anna can be part of that family since she has nothing in common with her and Elsa. She will have to find someone else to take Anna’s place.
Rumple seeks out the Snow Queen and lets her know Emma is on to her. The Snow Queen tells him that Emma didn’t discover anything she didn’t want her to discover. She goes head to head with Rumple which is pretty fantastic. He doesn’t scare her like he does most others. She tells him to stay out of her way, Later, after Belle has glimpsed the mirror, Rumple comes back to confront the Snow Queen about it. They posture and threaten each other again: Rumple telling her she better now hurt anyone he loves with her plans and the Snow Queen claiming she can’t make any guarantees. Rumple shows her that he has the hat and the Snow Queen shows fear for the first time.
Anna: She comes back from Misthaven and lies to Elsa about what she’s found out. She notices there are no flurries or any of Elsa’s normal icy behaviors happening. Elsa excitedly introduces Anna to their Aunt Ingrid and Anna immediately goes into disbelieving mode. She immediately goes to Kristoff and tells him that she doesn’t trust Ingrid. She claims to be a good judge of character, but Kristoff calls her out on that as she almost married Hans after 10 minutes. Anna doesn’t understand why there isn’t any record of Ingrid anywhere, so she wants to visit the Rock Trolls to find out about her. She also tells Kristoff that she didn’t tell Elsa what she found out on her trip. Unfortunately, Ingrid has been listening to their conversation. Anna runs into Belle at Oaken’s and since they are going to the same place, invites her to come with her to visit the Rock Trolls. Anna asks Grand Pabbie about Ingrid and he tells her that her mother actually had two sisters, and they were quite close. But then one day Ingrid and their other sister, Helga, vanished, so the royal family asked the Rock Trolls to make everyone forget them. This makes Anna think Ingrid is a liar because she didn’t tell them about this (um, wasn’t she trapped in an urn until recently), and needs to get back to the castle fast. Ingrid causes a storm and imprisons Anna, telling her she can’t be part of their family because she is the outsider.
Questions:
Why are they wondering how the Snow Queen got to our world? My first thought would be a magic bean since we’ve seen them several times at this point. I know they were supposed to be gone, but that obviously wasn’t true.
What is up with Belle’s traveling outfit? It’s a short skirt that has that caveman-like cut and knee-high stockings! And it’s white! Plus she’s in full make up.
Can someone please explain why Emma was moved around in foster care so much that six months was the longest she was anywhere? Isn’t the point of foster care to find a family to take them in so their life isn’t disrupted so much? No wonder Emma is the way she is if she was moved from family to family so much she couldn’t ever form any bonds.
Once again, what is up with Belle’s Storybrooke outfit? She’s going to infiltrate the Snow Queen’s lair in a short skirt and knee high boots (I mean, they are fur lined, but still)?
Ingrid told Anna she’d been trapped in an urn, so why would Anna think she knew anything about her family erasing everyone’s memories?
Who’s voice is coming from the mirror before Belle takes the cover off. It’s not speaking in Belle’s normal accent.
So, did Colette and Belle somehow get up when the Ogre pulled the table off of them? Maurice says her mother stood up to the Ogre, but they’d been lying under a table.
Why was Belle so worried about the Ogres reaching the road? They’d already been to the castle.
Where did this prophecy come from? Most prophecies aren’t so literal.
Observations:
The first book Belle’s mother ever read to her was called Her Handsome Hero.
Belle is wearing her blue movie dress. We saw her wear this in Rumple’s castle in Skin Deep. I had assumed that it had been something Rumple had given her since she didn’t bring anything with her, but maybe Rumple magicked her belongings to the castle at some point.
If this were real life, Anna would be so dead, or at least have multiple broken bones after falling off the mountain.
Rumple looks into the Snow Queen’s mirror and nothing happens.
The Snow Queen’s plan to use a mirror for the Spell of Shattered Sight comes directly from the Hans Christian Anderson story The Snow Queen. Although it is not her mirror that shatters, but the devil’s mirror. Read the tale here.
The false eyelashes on Belle are over the top this episode.
Timeline Issues:
Emma says she’s 13, maybe 14 in the video, but it’s supposed to be 1998, and in the fall. Emma was born in 1983, so that would make her 15, maybe 14 if it’s still the beginning of October.
If Anna met Belle before Belle met Rumple, then how old must she be now? Belle lived with Rumple, probably for at least a year (despite the short time we saw in Skin Deep and Lacey), and then she went on the adventure with Mulan to find the Yaoguai in The Outsider, and then she was captured by the Evil Queen and imprisoned for about 2 ½ years according to the hash marks in her cell in that we saw in Queen of Hearts. We know Elsa was trapped in the urn (although we don’t know how), but it had to have happened before Snow and Charming met, as it came through the time portal with Emma and Killian during There’s No Place Like Home, and as we saw, Belle was still Rumplestiltskin’s maid at this time. Assuming Arendelle wasn’t part of the curse (which, it shouldn’t be since it wasn’t part of the Enchanted Forest), at least 35 years must have passed from what we just saw.
So the Snow Queen apparently cared about Emma, but what happened for Emma to leave and the Snow Queen make her forget? How did she get to our land if not by my theory of a magic bean? The Snow Queen is planning to tear the town apart just so she can get Emma and Elsa to become her sisters, and Rumple is being a conniving ass as usual.
