yeah the Super Bowl halftime show was alright but i want to take this opportunity to subject you all to my personal favorite halftime show: the 2012 nba finals pitbull, chris brown and ne-yo halftime show

its an utter and absolute train wreck so terrible you can't look away. it begins with weird seductive whispering by pitbull while the camera zooms into his face. then he appears wearing all black, sunglasses, and gloves like a mafia boss. his terrible dancing attempts. his performance looks like hes making a plea to the united nations. then marc anthony appears on the screen behind him like a hostage video. he conducts the dancers like a drum major or perhaps a slightly too insane middle school band director. then chris brown appears from nowhere, in an ugly suit, and upstages him at his own show by pulling out some newsies bow sequence level dancing. then of course ne-yo appears because why wouldn't he. and his hat is sitting in ways that make it seem like a magic trick it hasn't fallen off yet. and pitbull is in the middle of it all, thrusting his hips and his hands into the hearts of america as he spews utter nonsense like confetti. its absolutely bamboozling and the best halftime show ive ever seen.

i entirely blame the stupendium for making me download a game about erotic soda cans, they had no reason or right to go that hard on “vending machine of love”

been watching mashle and oh my god, the eugenics???? the way lance's parents were so ready to give up their daughter??? no second thought???? just "why did this child have to be born to us?"???? um everyone talking in mash's face about how non-magic people are inherently worthless???? the triple line dude fucking making dolls out of people and somehow no one??? is??? checking him???? and then when questioned immediately jumping into "well humans are little more than mindless beasts and i will become a creator deity and reshape the world in my liking!"????? the, um, corruption in the government??? the way this story is so clearly "h*rry p*tter if it was actually funny"??? the slytherin coded characters are blood purists???? they took out hufflepuff??? one of the magia lupus' mage's powerset was just big shuriken???? another one is rip off kisame???? lance is a siscon and the first thing mash says is "that doesn't make it better"???? lemon is genuinely so fuckin funny??? dot is incel-coded but like in a funny way??? dot says that lance is playing life on "easy mode" cause lance has a good face??? dot likes tea??? dot has good manners??? everybody only has one spell they can use??? finn ames is like if you transported is regular human into this stupid ass world??? i think the old man and the cop have explored each others bodies.

My main inspiration for these were definitely classic storybook illustration styles and the watercolor-like illustrations included inside the tgcf books which depict hualian's daily slice of life routines as seen below

I wanted to capture that feeling of warmth i got from reading but i also went with the storybook look because their relationship (and by extension broad strokes of the entire plot) really did feel like something out of actual myth or legend; i'm chinese indonesian and was raised surrounded by chinese culture + values so tgcf felt VERY familiar to me, it threw me back to my childhood reading or listening to tales about chinese deities, i'd say the storybook image definitely came into my mind pretty quickly bc of this

I find this style somewhat hard to replicate now but if i could or have the time to, i really want to continue the 'companion pieces to chapter titles ' concept i did with the last 2 pieces (which are of the same chapter title but i was just indecisive 😭😭), i even had 3 more planned based on my favorite titles before burning out back then

does anyone else get so upset when you think about all the things that happened to your f/o... all the things they went through? all the things they haven't healed from? the pain that they may still be enduring? how you can do your best to help them but you can't protect them from everything. so you just love them the ways they needed before, how they deserved. and you see them happy because they finally accept, at least in some ways, that they do deserve it. they deserve love like all beings do

its so crazy that staff was like "yeah we're adding the grand exchange shop to fix the rampant issue of ancient gene clutter!" and we were all like "yay!" and then they just. didn't fix the issue of clutter in the marketplace. which was what we all actually cared about.
