tbf I feel like it's very interesting how the age gap in ancient marriages created sociological problems when it comes to fathers, sons from their first marriages, and the second wife who by virtue of the patriarchy was always around 15 and could very well be the same age as the son. and specifically, since in rome all roads lead to patricide, how there were entire rethorical manuals that were about subtly inquiring whether you, son who is in love with your stepmother who is just around your age, would kill your father so you could wed your stepmother

New insecurity: thumbs
There's too much reading going on currently, and I'm nowhere near the end of them:
L'isola di Arturo by Elsa Morante
Cosa può un corpo (lectures on Spinoza) by Deleuze
Heidegger's Nietzsche
Dostoevsky's The brothers Karamazov (nearly finished but paused for way too long now)
On a positive note, for once my philosophy-themed readings are aligned on a coherent path and by a common question-searching.
The downside is: I'm still in the forming phase of said question, so yeah, a bit stagnant with my work lately

🐦 To Kill a Mockingbird
🐦 To Kill a Mockingbird - What’s a book you had to read for school that you actually enjoyed?
Most of them, actually! To Kill a Mockingbird being one of those (it was a defining read of my 6th-grade summer). I also remember enjoying, to different degrees, 1984, Frankenstein, L'Isola di Arturo (Arturo's Island), Mrs. Dalloway, The Odyssey, Crime and Punishment, I promessi sposi (yes, The Betrothed - don't @ me, fellow Italians, I genuinely had fun with it)... and I could go on, I just really liked reading so most of what they threw at me was fine, lol. The only one I can remember really not being into was The Old Man and the Sea.
