Okay it’s not like I was rewatching Lilo & Stitch for the seventeen-hundredth time or anything
But I think people forget how dangerous and scary and what an outright powerhouse Stitch is when he’s in his normal state.
Like. At the beginning, Jumba says, “‘He is bulletproof, fireproof, and can think faster than a supercomputer.”
But then during the movie we see him do things like dance and spaz out when the flash bulbs on cameras are in his face, or sink in water. And we just kind of forget that he’s supposed to be dangerous.
But Stitch escaped the entire galactic armada by smashing the console of his stolen police cruiser spaceship and hyper-drive jumping across galaxies to crash land on one of the smallest land masses on an isolated planet…while the guidance system was disabled. Do you know what that means? It means he did those calculations in his head. While being hounded and shot at by an entire army of enemies. And he managed to disable the mothership in the same move to prevent immediate pursuit.
Tumblr media
Someone had to write that into the movie. Someone had to decide that specific method of escape. That was not an accident.  this is just your friendly reminder that for most of the film, Stitch is holding back. He’s pretending to be a harmless Earth creature to avoid capture while he plots a way off of the tiny island. If not for Lilo reforming him, he’d be an unstoppable monster. I mean, he only gets near his one weakness, water, because he’s so interested in being part of her earth family.
Think about it. We see him:
- plummet several thousand feet and bounce off of three mountains.  - hit the windshield of a moving spaceship.
- take the full blast of two fiery space engines, point-blank.
-catch a plasma core in his hands.
-get shot by a plasma cannon.  - carry several hundred tons of weight between semi trucks and 20-foot-tall space aliens.
- form a bomb out of nothing but a doll and a  roller skate.
I mean, early in the movie, they need to knock him unconscious, and the filmmakers don’t just hit him with one truck. That would be something you might expect from kids movies today. Just bonk the character with any old hard object and everyone will forget that he’s supposed to be bulletproof and all that jazz and just accept it. But no. Lilo & Stitch’s filmmakers say, “‘Oh, he’ll get knocked out—but it’s gonna take multiple semi trucks to do it.”
Tumblr media
And the fact that he can do all of this and survive all of this makes his bond with Lilo and decision to be good that much more poignant. Because everything else he was designed for works with crazy efficiency. He’s indestructible, check. He’s powerful, check. He’s destructive, he’s mean, he’s cruel—check. So when he dances and plays and surfs in the only element that poses a threat to him and calls a little human crew his family, that’s a big deal.
Because he could just be straight up wrecking everything like the world is his Jenga tower and not even the G-Force they use to halt Godzilla could’ve stopped him.

Sixteen Reasons - Your Freckled Nose
Shirley watched the sun set, old wood from the bench hard against her back and legs. The view of the ocean was spectacular on the pier, colorful arrays of orange, yellow, and pink splattered against its deep blue surface. The California sunsets never failed to amaze Shirley, even after years of watching them. She wished she could see the view every evening, but the bus fare wasn’t free, and Bardwell’s only paid so much.
A cool breeze bit at Shirley’s arms as she wondered how much longer Laverne would be away; although Laverne wouldn’t appreciate it as much as Shirley did, everything always looked better when they were together.
Just before the horizon swallowed the sun completely, Shirley felt the bench dip the slightest bit.
“It’s pretty, isn’t it?” Shirley didn’t need to look to know Laverne sat beside her.
“Beautiful.” Laverne licked the vanilla ice cream and handed Shirley hers.
Ahaha, its been a hot minute since I’ve posted and I am Nervous. I really hope this is good and y'all like <3

When I was a kid I loved Lilo & Stitch, so I decided to draw every single one of Stitch's cousins that I saw on TV. Idk how many of the episodes I did end up seeing, but I still have the old drawings in a binder somewhere. I kinda wanna draw some of them again for the fun of it. I might have to go watch the full show along with the movies soon

to be clear i obviously know already that Laverne is a freak and loves pilk i just thought it was like. already an established thing that they gave her as a trait to establish that she's a freak. i didn't know Penny Marshall came up with it. to be honest i didn't imagine any single person coming up with it i just chalked it up to usamericans being the weirdest people on the planet and called it a day. i will not be checking my sources on this also

Loic Muzy’s Dimensional Shambler has some aesthetic similarities to the Grand Councilwoman as well as the Star Wars species Tognath so I guess here’s the L&S equivalent of my investigator/mercenary Ciro. It’s my party I can slap multiple eyes on if I want to.

Being a dweeb, I am very into a lot of media, and incapable of shutting up about said media when reminded of them. So I'm going to briefly go through my top fandoms and why I'm in them!
Dreamworks Dragons: I think this was the first fandom I got into. I saw HTTYD as a wee child and an obsession was born. Such a diverse range of dragon species captured my awe from day one, and I am still in love with the franchise... most of it, anyway. The more recent spinoff series are not my cup of tea.
My Little Pony: I grew up on G3, but I wasn't really into ponies as a fandom until I discovered Friendship is Magic. It was my second fandom, and one I still enjoy the sheer depth of the lore. However, as I grew up, I found myself disliking certain parts of canon, so I'm not as into it as I once was. A few years ago, I got into G1 MLP, which I now have the entirety of on DVD. The first generation isn't perfect either, but still enjoyable.
Pokémon: In retrospect, this may have actually been my second fandom, but my memories of that time in my life are too obscure to be certain. Regardless, Pokémon has been a love of mine for a long time. I love playing the video games, though I'm not a fan of the anime. Still, I think it's a super fun franchise!
Lilo & Stitch: Now here's one I didn't get into until long after the heyday of its original media. I watched the first film in my early teens, and after finding out about the extended franchise, quickly fell into a fandom that has led to making more friends than any of those mentioned above. Aliens are cool, and fluffy mischievous mutant aliens are even better! As with MLP, though, I have several nitpicks with the tv series, to the point that I have a whole AU (alternate universe) project on the backburner. But at the end of the day, no matter how picky I am, I just love L&S for its heart.
Neopets: Most people just think of it as a pet-owning game, but if you like complex lore, it's surprisingly a goldmine. It's worth noting that canon has changed over the years; Neopets as a species started out as actual pets of humans (this element makes up the pet-owning aspect of the actual game of course), but modern canon has them as completely independent anthropomorphic beings and humans not existing at all. It's fascinating to see how the lore has evolved!
Flight Rising: An obscure but nonetheless wonderful fandom, Flight Rising is a game that operates a lot like Neopets. And just like that game, FR is rich in lore. Plus, it's about dragons, and dragons are great. All the different flights (elements) are cool, but personally I'm a Plague baby all the way!
I intend to post about all of these fandoms in the future, and I'll try to make plenty of fanart, too! Stay tuned!
