mortal instruments fans in the kinnporsche fandom having war flashbacks to Clace's sibling reveal is the funniest shit. But also we went through it over 15 years ago and are back to it.

“i saved your life that should be worth something”
bro you also SET UP the circumstances in which she was attacked. and then swooped in to make yourself the hero!
maybe he’s talking about helping her through the yin fen addiction but that was also a total manipulation lmao

You know I always told myself I’d never fall for villain types. I didn’t get loki shippers, I hated Draco malfoy and Severus snape apologists, I abhorred Jonathan Morganstern fanfiction and I catagorically despised the romanticisation of Tom riddle.
…then I joined the final fantasy fandom…
And my life was ruined by a red leather trench coat wearing theatre kid with a power complex, and his co-conspirators righteous paladin and Alien mommy issues.

Cassandra Clare's Obssession with "Jonathan" and "Christopher"
Mortal Instruments
Jonathan Shadowhunter
Jace - Jonathan Christopher Lightwood Herondale
Sebastian - Jonathan Christopher Morganstern
Jonathan Wayland ( Micheal Wayland's son )
Jonathan Clark - Jocelyn who claimed he was clary's father
Shadowhunter Academy
Jon - Jonathan Cartwright
Last Hours
Christopher - Christopher Lightwood
Dark Artifices
Kit - Christopher Jonathan Herondale
Johnny Rook - Also Jonathan ( unknown full name )
I get that jonathan and christopher are popular common names and somewhat a parody throughout the lore but the names are getting too repetitive esp. for kit herondale. Its wishful thinking to put a stop to this madness but I have a feeling that the names will probably pop up again for some random character in the wicked powers.

22. What's the longest book you read?
Excluding the annual listen to the Wolf Hall trilogy audiobooks (I listened to so much of the Mirror and the Light this year while playing Elden Ring - what a sublime experience…) the longest has to be Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke. I was fresh off the hype of how much I adored Piranesi and though I found a lot of JS&MN tonally familiar to her second novel, it was too long, meandering and -- against all odds considering the magicians -- less weird than the latter. Runner up was As Meat Loves Salt which I loved to death.
23. What's the fastest time it took you to read a book?
I somehow read 10 books in January, mostly by alternating listening to audiobooks in the car with sitting around the flat after work reading for hours at a time. Aside from finishing Brokeback Mountain in just over an hour, even the quickest blast through a book usually takes me around a day as I read most while in bed about to sleep. There's nothing better than reading until you can't keep your eyes open any more and starting off exactly where you left off again the next morning before you have to go deal with ~real life and ~actual obligations.
24. Did you DNF anything? Why?
Two books! One of them wasn't my fault and one was, lol. First one was The Once and Future King by T.H. White which I was very much looking forward to reading. I read a collected version of this, which involves King Arthur as a young lad under Merlin's tutelage and I just found this portion a little too middle grade for me. I know it picks up and the tone shifts dramatically towards the end of the book but I couldn't quite make it through the shapeshifting into birds sections (multiple).
I also made an attempt to benevolently forgive Sally Rooney for being a hack after I hated Normal People so much and so I tried to give Beautiful World, Where Are You a try and also hated that. 5 chapters in and two of the main characters were emailing each other about current events and I couldn't take the obvious mouthpiecing for a moment longer. One of the women in question was a successful, female, Irish author. Sally!!! You gotta give it up!!!!!
I went and looked through my storygraph and I also DNF’d The Night Circus by Erin Morganstern. Which left so little impression on me that I’d forgotten about it entirely lol

Is anyone else annoyed that it’s Clary that’s connected and trapped with Jonathan and not Jace? Or is it just me?

Sorry fam. I took a TO to check out the Prime Day deals but I’m back.
Also, I guess I know now why Jonathan would keep adorable little Sebastian’s face instead of showing his own once that secret is revealed.
