#Jaguar F-Type Concept
Text
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jaguar F-Type Concept, 2000. Conceived as a potential rival for the Porsche Boxter, the F-type underwent some productionisation before the project was abandoned. It took another 13 years before Jaguar marketed the F-type, which had nothing in common with this concept

Jaguar XJ Full Sized Coupe V8 Concept
What if... Jaguar returned an old classic full sized coupe to the market and introduced the V8 XJ coupe. Much larger than the F-Type with rear seats for room for two more passengers with 2+2 seating configuration.

One word prompt— Q with “puppy” 🙏🏼
Ohohohoho! Thank you for this one!!! It was an absolute delight to fill! You can read it below or on AO3.
Enjoy! 💖
Tumblr media
puppy.
It’s eight am, and Q isn’t nearly awake enough for this.
Bond’s in a warehouse in Hamburg, retrieving an enemy hard drive. As usual, he’s only listening to Q’s instructions with half an ear. Though, admittedly, that's still half an ear more than some of the other agents.
“007, I said left.”
“I know what you said,” snaps Bond under the heavy rat-tat-tat of bullets. “I’m taking a shortcut.”
“A deadly one, by the sounds of it,” sighs Q. “All right. I’m mapping you a new exit route.”
“Hang on a minute. There’s something I need to take a look at.”
Q flicks his eyes to the timestamp on his screen. “What part of ‘this building will explode in ten minutes’ did you not understand?”
“The part where I’m meant to ignore innocent lives trapped in it.”
“Oh! Is there—? Shit. I’m not reading anyone else nearby. Hang on, why can’t I read anyone else?”
Most of the cameras inside the building have been shot out, either deliberately or through collateral damage. Q is flying blind at the moment, and he hates it. He listens greedily to any sounds that make their way down the line, and wishes fervently that he'd sent Bond in with some sort of heat-seeking technology to give them more information. As it is, all Q can hear is some frantic rustling and another hail of bullets, thankfully further away than the last. A moment later, he hears Bond shushing someone, telling them everything will be all right.
Despite himself, Q can feel his chest warming in the way it often does when Bond’s kindness shines through. He smiles briefly, though he stops when he catches some of his staff looking a bit moony-eyed over the whole encounter.
“We have an agent in the middle of a delicate extraction,” Q says to the room, briefly muting his end of the comms line. The last thing any agent needs is the ego boost of knowing he’s distracted the whole branch. “I’d appreciate everyone’s full attention on the task at hand.”
“Yes, Sir,” comes the responding chorus.
“Good.”
“In your own time, Q,” interrupts Bond, finally ready to move and sounding half amused, half exasperated.
Q’s tempted to keep Bond hanging just for that, but the sound of bullets is growing both louder and more insistent now. Besides, there’s a casualty to contend with, and they don’t deserve to be caught up in one of his and Bond’s usual competitive nonsense. He scans the building's blueprints and Bond’s location as quickly as he can.
“Got it. Thirty meters straight ahead, left and then the second right. If you make it out the correct exit, you should find your new car waiting for you.”
“The DB10?”
“Jaguar F-Type. I’m afraid you blew the year’s budget for anything higher-end while you were in La Paz.”
“It’s only August.”
“Ah, so you've heard about the concept of a financial year. And yet, you destroyed the car anyway.” Q stabs the return key with more force than intended. “Take it up with Accounting.”
Bond huffs in discontent, then groans in a worrying way.
“Bond. Are you quite all right?”
“Bloody marvellous,” he grunts.
“Not too bloody, I hope.”
Bond doesn’t answer. Over the next few minutes, it’s only because of his occasional ragged breathing that Q is aware he’s alive at all.
Q fixes his eyes on the screen showing the door at the end of Bond’s exit route. Every second that ticks by without Bond emerging scrapes against his nerves. His heart rate will be through the roof by the end of this, and he daren’t think about his blood pressure.
Actually, it’s probably in no small part due to Bond that Q found a grey hair at his temple the other day. He’s sure he'll find a few more after today's antics. It's always Bond's missions that do him in like this. He'd spend more time questioning why his other agents' missions don't seem nearly as stressful, but he already knows the answer to that.
(At least Bond, for now, seems blissfully unaware of the regard in which Q holds him. Though worryingly, he might be the only one who's unaware of it.)
“Four minutes and counting, Sir,” calls one of his techs behind him.
“Bond?” calls Q. “Where are you? I needn’t remind you time is of the — oh. There you are.”
“Here I am,” replies Bond, sliding into the car. Q can see his cheeky, roguish smile even through the terrible quality of the CCTV.
For a moment, he’s so relieved to see Bond alive with no blood trail behind him that he doesn’t register the bundle in Bond’s left arm. When he does, it renders him speechless until Bond has safely driven away. By the time he’s himself again, Q’s whole department has cottoned onto what’s happening, and they’re cooing at the soft sounds coming through the room’s microphone.
“007. If you’re about to tell me that you risked your life and the safety of that hard drive to pick up a dog—”
Bond scoffs. “I wasn’t about to tell you anything. I’m well aware you can judge the situation for yourself. And there are two of them, by the way.” In a voice that’s far too soft for Q’s frayed nerves, he says, “They’re only pups.”
The whispers around Q increase in volume, and there’s an undignified squeak from somewhere at the back of the room. Not for the first time in this job, he wishes he had a mute button for his technicians.
“You could have been killed,” hisses Q, glaring at the blue symbol representing Bond's tracker.
“I had the situation in hand. If those bastards wanted rid of me, they’d have needed to try much harder than that.”
“Your faith in yourself is certainly admirable,” says Q, waspishly, “But you’re not indestructible, Bond.” During Bond’s rather petulant-sounding lack of response, another thought occurs to Q. It's one that has him imagining murdering Bond himself. “By the way, that Jaguar you’re sitting in is brand new. If you get back and it’s covered in dog hair…or worse—”
“It’ll be the least destructive thing I’ve done to a car in years.”
Q sighs, knowing full well that’s true. He shoots a withering look at the group of engineers who have pulled up a still from some earlier CCTV shots, showing Bond holding a rifle in one hand and two puppies in the other.
For heaven’s sake. At least Q knows who he’ll be putting on clean-up duty.
“Right. You clearly have no more need for my assistance, so I’ll leave you to it.”
He pauses, trying to refrain from giving his usual praise lest it sends the message he endorses this sort of life-endangering, stray-rescuing behaviour. Unfortunately, just as he can never exit a set of bus doors without thanking the driver, he can’t hang up on an unscathed, victorious agent without saying congratulations on a job well done.
“Well done, Bond. You have our thanks for saving the world once again.”
“My pleasure."
In the background, one of the puppies yips. Against all his instincts — he’s known widely around the office as a cat person, after all — Q smiles. His curiosity gets the better of him.
“Are you, erm...are you going to name them?”
Bond hums, and Q can hear the tease in it. “I was thinking Winston and Maggie.”
“Oh, for heaven’s sake,” Q groans. “You’re as bad as M.”
“Thank you, Q.”
Q doesn’t give him any further encouragement. He hangs up and shoos his staff away from admiring more of Bond's angles. It's hardly the first time he's had to break up a gossiping pack of staff after Bond's done something miraculous, or charming, or particularly tantalising. But today, horrifyingly, he hears someone mention a charity calendar and a fireman’s uniform.
Christ he needs a nap. Or a drink. A pay rise, definitely.
In the end, he simply gets back to work.
Bond, however, isn’t quite finished with him for the day. During Q’s lunch hour, he receives a message with a picture containing two German Shepherd puppies. Their disproportionately large ears sit at a jaunty angle on their heads, which are cocked adorably to the side. Behind them stretches a verdant, bright apple orchard, so they’re most likely enjoying some time in the Altes Land. Unbelievably, they seem to have acquired harnesses and collars in the three hours since Q glimpsed them last, and Bond seems to have acquired some new gear too. To the side of the picture is a cut-off shot of Bond’s hand, which is holding a neon orange ball.
How about Jeeves and Woofster? reads the text on his phone.
If Q smiles wider and laughs louder than he has all morning, well…he’s in the privacy of his own office. No one needs to know he's not just a cat person.

heyyy questions for opal :) 2, 14, 30, B!
Wow did you know that if you ctrl-z in tumblr's new text editor it will delete everything you've been typing and not put it back. I HAD... SEVERAL PARAGRAPH ANSWERS THAT I HAD TO REDO. TRYING TO BE SERENE ABOUT THIS. anyways ty these were really fun especially B, i dont think i've talked this much about my oc making process before! answers below
2- How easy is it for your character to laugh?
HMM. I think surprisingly kind of hard! not that he's too serious for it, I think that opal just doesn't get jokes very easily, and has a hard time telling when people are joking. but the 'if you have to explain the joke it isn't funny' rule totally doesn't apply to him, if a joke goes over his head he WILL laugh after you explain it to him.
if i had to think of something that would for sure make them laugh... i feel like visual stuff gets him for sure, i think they'd really love those little dogs on social media with the fucked up haircuts.
Tumblr media
they'd laugh so hard they'd pass out at this thing
14- What animal do they fear most?
probably just any large dangerous animal. he has a sort of scared prey animal quality about him... i think he has 'being chased by a jaguar/tiger/bear/shark' dreams a lot. but it's really just anything they think could eat them and or rip them apart physically, common phobia animals that are more just 'creepy' like snakes or bugs are no problem.
30 - Who do they most regret meeting?
HMMM. interesting to answer because the campaign opal was in has been concluded for a while and I feel like he's resolved most of his personal issues with people. also, he's not very good at holding grudges really lol
there were some characters that were making his life harder for reasons he, at the time, did not have the full scope of understanding. opal viewed his involvement with them as his own fault (impulsively went in on crazy expensive body mod surgeries, ended up in debt to a kinda-evil rich guy & regularly being harrassed by someone sent to collect) so he definitely regretted it. but, again, things turned out to be a lot more complicated!
honestly upon finding out he was involved in some huge-scale universe at stake stuff after all, rather than being upset he was mostly just like oh i don't owe that guy thousands of dollars fr? Sweet (instantly forgets about all of it)
B- What inspired you to create them?
most of the campaigns i am or have been in have a particular time period they're set in, so that's usually where my dnd character concepts start! with opal's we were prompted to choose a distinct era/universe of our choosing for our player characters, since they'd all be from different worlds. i definitely had retro futurism on the brain for opal, specifically 80s to y2k era...
he's a character that came to me in aesthetic and design first i think. more than the more shiny glam looks that come to mind in y2k futurism and modern stuff that replicates it, i really wanted that sort of... sterile, uniform-y, limited color palette look. lots of beige and white and grey, functionality-first and technical-made-fashionable. his outfit is just the company-assigned uniform he wears to his manual labor and service jobs, but it still has that cute stylish spin to it!
a specific example i referenced would be these looks from Michiko Koshino F/W 1996. graphic and fashionable while still evoking the functionality and simplicity of a uniform or other more practical wear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the future opal is in is really the future as it exists in a dated, speculative vision from the 80s to early 2000s. not quite as fantastical as a lot of space-age futurism, because it's from an era where 'futuristic technologies' were really beginning to be made on a consumer scale and put to use in day to day life... so it's a bit more cynical and fearful and dystopian, because the practical applications & the consequences of futuristic advancements were a bit easier to consider.
opal's world has the bleak nightmarish feeling of i have no mouth and i must scream & even to more overtly comedic degrees as like, black mirror lol... but it's still kind of silly and impractical and campy. as much as he exists as a working class individual in a hyper capitalist hellworld, those 'zenon girl of the future' disney movies are a big ingredient to him as well! as miserable as his life gets he isn't meant to be a sad character. he's not mopey. he gets dressed up in silly little outfits and has a silly little laser gun.
Wow did you know 2001 a space oddysey and barbarella came out the same year? it's that sort of dichotomy of scifi vibe.
uhhh also i'd just played a confident mean boy (kalibri) and thought a spineless scared guy would be fun to try next

GTA 5 Online NEW YEARS DLC Update - FREE MONEY REBATE! Open Wheel Races, NEW Missions & MORE!
Tumblr media
💾 ►►► DOWNLOAD FILE 🔥🔥🔥 The front of the car seems to be heavily inspired by the Jaguar F-Type , particularly the bumper intakes and ovular grille, while the headlights appears to be heavily inspired by the Maserati GranTurismo. The rear of the car appears to take some influences from the McLaren P1 , particularly its stock rear diffuser, rear window and stock exhaust, while the tail lights and rear curvature resemble the Aston Martin DBC Concept. Several elements of the car's design take influence from the Koenigsegg Regera , such as the side intakes and rear fascia influences. The interior of the car also appears to be influenced by the W Motors Lykan Hypersport. The XA is clearly distinguished by its rounded, aerodynamic profile, where the front is largely dominated by the oval grille on the centre, the dual intakes besides it and a smaller intake below. Black housings can be seen above the small intakes, featuring a set of circular lamps, vertical light strips and small turn signals on the inner sides. The bonnet area is relatively flat and curves down from the windscreen to between the light housings. Ocelot badges can be seen on the grille and the front portion. The sides of the car are distinguished by the intakes on the rear section, a carbon-fibre detail below it, and the coloured rear-view mirror shells. The cabin area has an extended windscreen, carbon-fibre trim around the door windows and carbon-fibre rear-quarter panels. The boot of the vehicle features a smooth, curved body with a glass window showcasing the engine, while the same badging detail is found within the carbon frame. The stock engine itself features a rather unique model, with various coolant hoses and carbon-fibre detail, as well as the Ocelot brand badge in the centre. The rear of the car is mostly occupied by the vented area and the single exhaust tube, while the portion above is occupied by the central light strip and the two tail lamps on either side. A black rear housing the license plate and the two red strips can be seen below the vented area, while the bottom is occupied by a curved diffuser. The mechanical spoiler can be seen just above the rear lights, featuring the corresponding manufacturer badge. Its underside is mostly covered, with black bolted-on panels on the outer portions and a carbon-fibre plating on the centre, leaving the rear axle exposed. Unlike the Nero, however, the XA has an additional small, white neon trim located on the dials and AC. The primary colour of the car is applied on the bodywork, the centre of the stock wheels and the paddle shifts, while the secondary colour is applied on the portions of the side intakes, the door handles and the details on the covering above the engine. A trim colour is also available for the dashboard, door panels, seats and stitching. It uses a set of paintable rims that alternates between linear spokes and arrow-shaped spokes, with the Ocelot logo in the centre of the wheel. The XA is unrivaled in terms of traction and cornering capability, beating all other supercars in the game. Its high grip translates well when going around multiple corners; however its weakness is its top speed, which is only average for the class if acceleration has not been fully upgraded. The vehicle drives very similar to the Tempesta , as has excellent cornering and all wheel drive but an average top speed, though with the appropriate upgrades by increasing its acceleration, it can be a force to be reckoned with in races at the hands of a skilled driver. The vehicle is powered by an engine that resembles that of the Jaguar C-X75 apparently being powered by two diesel-fed micro gas turbines , which is stated to use hybrid tech. It can be replaced with either a race-tuned V8 engine or a custom V12 engine; these two only affect its traction, in the same way as spoilers. The car features a loud engine sound which produces a unique cracking sound when idling. The exhaust may also crackle after letting off the gas at high revs. GTA Wiki Explore. The Games. @coalfeathers :D !!
So to start off with I absolutely love your lair’s vibe??  Everything is so thematic and nicely organized!
Tumblr media
This girl here?  I love her so much ;o;  Mage apparel is so underrated and she shows it off so well!  Her lore is wonderful too--the concept of kinda being forced into a role but flowering and becoming her own person (dragon?) despite it is phenomenal :D
Tumblr media
Katrina’s vibe is impeccable!!  For one, I love her accent, and for two I think she’s got such clear personality to her!  I can totally see her as a brawler--she’s just got that look to her, you know?  10/10 dragon right here ;o;
Tumblr media
I tend to struggle with wildclaws, but there’s no way around it for Bakudan: he’s gorgeous.  The capsule is bright and fiery, complementing his overall contrast.  Dark sclera is the perfect eye type for him too!  And let me just say: his outfit is absolutely perfect.  A lot of people tend to bury their wildclaws in apparel but your choices for him are so tasteful and really show off the beauty of the dragon underneath!
Tumblr media
Kaisenna here makes so many “unconventional” apparel pieces work!!  I can count on one hand how many times I’ve seen those fire fest pieces used outside of meme dragons, and don’t even get me started on how underutilized the samurai pieces tend to be.  She makes all of them work so well!!  I absolutely adore everything about her ;o;
Tumblr media
This ridgie reminded me just how much I love latte jaguar--especially when it’s combined with a nice snowbelly!  Once again, you’ve been so tasteful with his apparel and haven’t overdone anything :D  I love the use of the flowering gladeboughs!
Tumblr media
The striation on Lennox here is just brilliant!  The subtle fade to green matches their lil claws ;o;  And the facet eyes!!  I love them!!
Tumblr media
HECK YES!!  Her skin goes SO WELL with her skink’s accent colors and her apparel is, once again, absolutely on point.  You’ve done such a good job of bringing all her accent colors together, and I especially love how the leaves and mushrooms match with her eyes!  I think she was my favorite in your entire lair ;o;
Tumblr media
I think I saw Kairaerin here being shared on Tumblr a while ago!  She’s absolutely stunning, and primal permababies are my biggest weakness XD
Tumblr media
I like Niiko here for many reasons, from his name to his outfit!  The dark sclera eyes are striking and match his noxtide perfectly, and you manage to tie in the pinstripe with the rose tangles on the wings!  Such fabulous attention to detail and color coordination!  I love he ;o;
Tumblr media
Cuicatl is hauntingly beautiful!  I love how well the horns work with the skull mask--it truly gives her that ghostly, skeletal look.  And let me tell you I am WEAK for orange and teal ;o;
Tumblr media
Locust here is all of my favorite things: veilspun f-pose, beige skink, red/teal colorscheme, and dark sclera eyes!  Their lore is so intriguing as well!!  10/10 dragon right here ;o;
Tumblr media
Did I mention how much I love teal?  Well, I’ll say it again for this lad because he wears it so well ;o;  The will o’ wisps give him a mysterious and magical vibe, which fits super well with his lore of being a warlock!
Tumblr media
I have (1) word: frogy
Tumblr media
I love pymorph in general, but especially contrasting pymorph like this lad’s!!  The opal also matches so well with their apparel and overall grim vibe and let me just tell you I got shivers from their lore ;o;  Very creative!
Tumblr media
Eve here personifies the exact reasons I love gaolers so much!!  Phantom and blossom are two of the best genes ever made, and they suit her so well ;o;  The sharpness of the dark sclera give her such a dangerous vibe as well!
Tumblr media
Once again, you hit such a nice orange/green contrast here!  And I love how you don’t cover the primal but rather accentuate it with other parts of the outfit--it’s such a hard balance to strike but you’ve done it super well!
Tumblr media
I love it when patchwork gets incorporated into lore like how you’ve done for Motte!  Poor lad--but stunningly original concept!
Tumblr media
hotdog
Tumblr media
Purple and orange are just so wonderful together!  I love the cohesion between the colors and the outfit, and the sweater is such a cozy touch ;o;  A sona dragon to be impressed with for sure!  I cannot believe you managed to get such a perfect G1!!
Tumblr media
I love Daphne’s sepia tones!!  Such a lovely use of that accent as well--site skins can be so hard to use well and you’ve done it here!
Tumblr media
Okapi is one of my favorite genes for precisely this reason!  It makes such a wonderful contrast ;o;  I also love everything else about this lad: the vibrant teal that matches the glowing eyes and the faux underbelly of the dust jaguar and I just!! he’s so good!!!  His theme song is also like,,, my entire vibe so I definitely slapped it on my playlist!
Tumblr media
Again with the phenomenal vaporwave-esque dragons!  Starmap does lovely things to this boyo’s mane and I love the teal in his thorns ;o;
Tumblr media
Aaand what a note to finish on!!  I’ve seen some stunning uses of voltvolley implements in the past but Abraxa knocks all of them out of the water!!  Such an impeccable vibe ;o;
Hope you have a wonderful birthday!  Your lair was a joy to browse :D  Also I’m super sorry if I managed to use the wrong pronouns for anyone!  I tried to be careful but sometimes I’m just an absolute doofus,,,,,,,,,

The Art of Design: 10 World’s Most Beautiful Exotic Cars
Tumblr media
Source
Beauty is a subjective concept, and this fully applies to cars. However, thanks to statistics, you can determine things which are nice not for everyone, but for the vast majority of people. Therefore, the list of the world’s most beautiful cars exists and many of its representatives are available via exotic car rental USA. Let's look at these works of art on wheels that amaze the eyes and excite the imagination...
Maserati Ghibli
Tumblr media
Source
Maserati Ghibli opens the list of the most beautiful cars in the world. The stunning design of this car is the embodiment of grace. Smooth body lines, short feed and narrow rear doors immediately attract the eye. All together it looks stylish, modern and at the same time restrained. The phrase “Absolute opposite to ordinary” is the most exact characteristic of Maserati Ghibli. This is an extraordinary car, conquering at first sight. It creates a sense of protection and safety.
Lamborghini Aventador
Tumblr media
Source
Lamborghini Aventador takes 9th position in the ranking of the world’s most beautiful cars. When creating the model, the designers were inspired by the fantastic film “Tron”. But even those who are unfamiliar with this cinematic masterpiece appreciated the interesting design of the Italian supercar. The color of the car is the most catchy design element. White stripes perfectly emphasized all the aerodynamic curves of this car. The style of the film, recreated by the Italian car industry, has come to the liking of many motorists.
Aston Martin Rapide
Tumblr media
Source
Aston Martin Rapide is also included into 10 most amazing cars in the world. According to many experts, the model is ideal among 4-door sedans. It looks like a sports car thanks to the doors opening upward. This exquisite Briton with an incredibly small ground clearance looks very muscular. Rapide is not only the most beautiful sedan produced by a British company, but also the fastest one. The maximum speed that can be developed is 306 km/h.
Porsche Cayman
Tumblr media
Source
The seventh place among the most beautiful cars in the world was occupied by Porsche Cayman, which combines power, speed and endurance. The design is fully consistent with the sporty character of the car, which radiates athleticism. An indicator of style is beautiful transitions between convex and concave shapes. The unique front part of the model vividly demonstrates the perfect dynamics. The compact Cayman combines all the benefits of Porsche. Luxurious design, comfort and elegance will allow its owner to feel like a king of the road.
Alfa Romeo 4C
Tumblr media
Source
Alfa Romeo 4C is a holder of prestigious European awards. This is the most beautiful car according to the magazines and international Internet polls, and it also overtook many other supercars in popularity. The stylistic perfection of this Italian doesn’t cause complaints from even the most skeptical critics. This is a car designed to enjoy not only driving, but also the appearance. Light weight, rather narrow wheelbase, and the power of 240 hps were hidden into a gorgeous car body. Alfa Romeo 4C is a stylish car, which is worth admiration.
Cadillac CTS
Tumblr media
Source
The car appeared in the middle of the rating. Great power, high speed and unsurpassed beauty - all these features together merged into Cadillac CTS. The classic profile, which is inherent to the sedan, dilutes the original bend of the rear door frames. This proportionally-created car is very emotional, and the wooden and leather finishing is fascinating. In addition, there is a plastic, metal, and alcatanra inserts. The exotic appearance of this Cadillac gives reason to believe that the title of one of the most beautiful cars will belong to it for many years.
Jaguar F-Type
Tumblr media
Source
Jaguar’s design director believes that only simple car shapes can be beautiful. This statement applies to Jaguar F-Type. The eccentric roadster attracted attention at the production stage. Branded oval front end has long been the hallmark of the creations of Jaguar. The front part of the car is framed without any aggressiveness. The side of the roadster fascinates the eyes - it resembles an airplane for sports piloting. The correct lines of the body, thin front windshield pillars, which very harmoniously turn in the roof, and powerful thresholds - all these details cause a storm of delight and bring the Jaguar F-Type to the 4th place among the most beautiful cars in the world.
McLaren P1
Tumblr media
Source
McLaren P1 opens the top three most beautiful cars in the world. Comfortable, ergonomic, with a large windshield - it impresses all motorists. Initially, when developing the model, engineers took into consideration all the necessary requirements of aerodynamics, and only then they transferred the project to the designers and asked to complete it beautifully. Despite the slightly aggressive look of McLaren P1, its forms are rather soft. This comfortable and stylish car deserves the attention of all connoisseurs of beauty.
Peugeot Onyx
Tumblr media
Source
Paper, felt and copper - this is what Peugeot Onyx consists of. Clean lines and elegant forms - these features give the right to put the supercar in second place. For interior trim an innovative material was used. Recycled newspapers are the basis of the front panel and the top of the door panels. Former tabloids have found their place in the interior of Peugeot Onyx.
 Aston Martin CC100
Tumblr media
Aston Martin CC100 with an open body rightfully heads the rating of the most beautiful cars in the world. Even before the release at the production stage, the model became the property of collectors. Futuristic design, coupled with vintage elements did their job and the final result hit the imagination of even the most skeptical experts.

For the week of 19 November 2018
Quick Bits:
Aquaman #42 is a tie-in to the “Drowned Earth” event, following on his skewering at the hands of Poseidon in Justice League #11. Navigating his way through a dead realm is kind of a weird way for Dan Abnett to close out his run on the series, but it’s still a satisfying issue. Great art from Lan Medina, Vicente Cifuentes, and Gabe Eltaeb.
| Published by DC Comics
Tumblr media
Batman #59 continues the “Tyrant Wing” arc with Batman acting a little unhinged on Penguin’s tip that Bane is running Arkham from the shadows, continuing his criminal empire to kill throughout Gotham. It’s interesting to see Batman alienate his allies again in his pursuit for vengeance.
| Published by DC Comics
Tumblr media
Bettie Page #1 begins a new volume setting up an alien adventure in Britain, building upon the previous series but not requiring it as reading, from David Avallone, Julius Ohta, Ellie Wright, and Taylor Esposito. Bettie Page, paranormal investigator, is still a weird but entertaining remit and this opening issue does a good job of continuing in that vein as Bettie travels to England to investigate the Queen having been abducted by aliens. Ohta’s art also just keeps getting better and better.

Black Badge #4 employs a unique approach to flashbacks, with a solid spot colour in otherwise black and white image from Tyler and Hilary Jenkins. It’s a neat technique that really makes the scenes stand out.

Bloodborne #7 continues to question the realities and relationship of religion and science, even as the city’s fate becomes bleaker and the disease threatens more and more citizens. While I think I preferred the existential terror of the first arc more, this is still highly enjoyable.

Tumblr media
Cold Spots #4 delivers a little bit of explanation as to what Grace has been brought to the island to do. I say a little bit, since there’s still a lot left unanswered in this penultimate issue. Gorgeous artwork from Mark Torres. You can almost feel the coldness coming off the pages.

Cover #3 is some amazing storytelling. Somehow Brian Michael Bendis, David Mack, Zu Orzu, and Carlos M. Mangual are layering more and more into the narrative with each subsequent issue in such a brilliant way that you barely notice how many disparate pieces are being presented. It’s like an intricate tapestry being woven before us. This issue even has a special sequence illustrated by Bill Sienkiewicz of a fantasy story I desperately want to read the rest of.
| Published by DC Comics / Jinxworld
Tumblr media
Crimson Lotus #1 begins a new series from John Arcudi, Mindy Lee, Michelle Madsen, and Clem Robins giving an origin story to Yumiko Daimio, one of Lobster Johnson’s enemies and grandmother to the BPRD’s favourite jaguar. It’s good, and an appearance early on from Rasputin just further shows some of the intricacies of the Hellboy universe.
| Published by Dark Horse
Tumblr media
Devil Within #2 keeps the creepy factor up as Samantha and Michelle try to get help for Michelle’s possible possession. Excellent moody atmosphere provided by the art from Maan House and Dee Cunniffe.
| Published by Black Mask
Tumblr media
Doctor Strange #8 begins “The Price” but it’s really just a continuation of the “Two Doctors” arc, building off the corruption of Strange’s former student. Mark Waid gives us some very interesting developments here regarding who is targeting him, along with Kamma finding out something Stephen wishes she wouldn’t, and the revelation of the location of one of the other gems from Cyttorak that were revealed to exist in X-Men Black.
| Published by Marvel
Tumblr media
Evolution #12 ends the second arc with some lies, half-truths, and compelling confessions. The theme of change and mutation that has been evident since the first issue really comes to the fore this issue as some huge changes occur for the cast.
| Published by Image / Skybound
Tumblr media
Exorsisters #2 gives more background to how the sisters came about through a deal with infernal powers by their mother. The art from Gisèle Lagacé and Pete Pantazis really is a huge draw.
| Published by Image
Tumblr media
High Heaven #3 spends some time with Heather as she deals, kind of, with the loss of both David and Ben. Very weird things continue to go on in heaven with the usual great art from Greg Scott and Andy Troy. The Hashtag: Danger back-up remains funny with the lengths that the team goes to in order to save one of their own, only to have her kill herself again. And the prose pieces nicely round out the entire package.

Hot Lunch Special #4 delivers the penultimate chapter to not just one of the best crime stories I’ve read in years, but also just one of the best stories I’ve read in years period. Eliot Rahal, Jorge Fornés, and Taylor Esposito have really got something special here, with intriguing characters, an ever twisting plot, and some incredible visual. The layouts for this issue, breaking down the pacing, are just wonderful.
| Published by AfterShock
Tumblr media
Immortal Hulk #9 is another staggeringly good issue, with a change for the Absorbing Man as he’s tapped to go up against the Hulk. While I am a little sad he didn’t stay legitimate following his redemption arc in Black Bolt, his development here from Al Ewing is pretty intriguing. Also love the art as the regular team of Joe Bennett, Ruy José, and Paul Mounts trade off pages with guest artist Martin Simmonds. The former illustrating the Hulk and the latter Creel before alternating in the battle between the two.

Tumblr media
Infinity 8 #7 begins the third loop “The Gospel According to Emma” from Lewis Trondheim, Fabien Vehlmann, and Olivier Balez. This reboot of the timeline starts off incredibly wrong as the Marshal approached to assist this time turns on the crew and effectively strands them in this timeline. There’s some interesting bits of grave robbers stealing treasure and overtones of the Marshal’s religion.

Tumblr media
Infinity Wars: Ghost Panther #1 begins the final of these two-issue “Infinity Warps” mash-ups. Like the rest, it is incredibly well done. Jed MacKay, Jefte Palo, Jim Campbell, and Joe Sabino craft a tale merging Ghost Rider and Black Panther, seamlessly blending the two into something magical. The art from Palo and Campbell may well be the best of any of these minis and the art on all of them has been very impressive. Love the design for Zarathos.

Tumblr media
Judge Dredd: Toxic #2 has the violence and toxicity spillover as the explosion at one of the waste facilities causes increased fear and tension amongst the scrubbers hired to keep Mega-City One functioning. Paul Jenkins is crafting a tale full of the problems that come with xenophobia and the art from Marco Castiello, Vincenzo Acunzo, and Jason Millet just makes it visceral.

Justice League #12 has some really nice art from Frazer Irving for this penultimate chapter of the “Drowned Earth” event. Also, a very interesting revelation from Poseidon when it comes to the invading sea gods.
| Published by DC Comics
Tumblr media
Justice League Dark #5 kicks off a new arc dealing with the ramifications of the first one, “The Witching Hour” crossover, and previous unrevealed tales of what happened with Detective Chimp after inheriting the Oblivion Bar. James Tynion IV gives some nice nods to the original Shadowpact series aided by beautiful art from Daniel Sampere, Juan Albarran, and Adriano Lucas.

Tumblr media
The Last Space Race #2 introduces us to another member of the team, giving us a bit of his backstory, and largely making us want to drop him into a deep dark hole and forget that he’s there. Peter Calloway does a wonderful job of making Roger Freeman thoroughly unlikable, it’s kind of astonishing.
| Published by AfterShock
Tumblr media
Lightstep #1 is a very different kind of sci-fi tale, mixing almost the feel of the decadence of Rome under Nero or Caligula and the high concept science fiction of a society that measures the class of its citizens by genetic similarity to their progenitor, and thereby assigns how “fast” they live. As I say, different from Miloš Slavković, Mirko Topalski, and Andrej Bunjac. Slavković’s art reminds me a bit Pasqual Ferry mixed with John Watkiss. The story itself somewhat reminds me of Watkiss’ work on John Jakes’ Mulkon Empire. On top of that, it’s part of a broader video game/media franchise from Eipix Entertainment, of which this looks like only the first volley (a novel and video game are forthcoming).
| Published by Dark Horse
Tumblr media
The Lollipop Kids #2 continues to be a fantastic and fabulous comic from Adam & Aidan Glass, Diego Yapur, DC Alonso, and Sal Cipriano. The art alone from Yapur and Alonso would be worth the price of admission, but the characters, setting, and overall plot just elevate this beyond a typical kids fantasy type deal.

Tumblr media
Low Road West #3 gets significantly stranger and much more surreal as reality seems to be growing thinner. We’re still not any closer to really understanding what’s truly going on, but it doesn’t really matter. Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Flaviano, Miquel Muerto, and Jim Campbell are telling one hell of a compelling story.

Mae #10 has Mae deal with some stuff in our world before stocking up and returning back to Cimrterén to resume her search for her father. Gorgeous artwork as always from Gene Ha and Wes Hartman.

Marvel Knights #2 sees Matthew Rosenberg and Nico Henrichon join Donny Cates for this chapter, giving a bit of back story on how Banner roped in Castle into searching out the various heroes and leads to a confrontation with Elektra. Still no closer to understanding what happened here, but it does get weirder with a hallucinatory Karen Page. Henrichon’s art is just perfect for telling this story.

Tumblr media
Middlewest #1 is a magical debut of this new series from Skottie Young, Jorge Corona, Jean-Francois Beaulieu, and Nate Piekos. It’s a fantasy grounded in the reality of growing up hard in Middle America, with Abel dealing with an abusive father, while just trying to be a kid. But there’s a talking fox and devastating sentient storms. Rather inventive stuff all around. I’m also getting the impression that Jorge Corona should really be a household name. Between No. 1 with a Bullet, Old Man Jack, and now this, he’s been killing it recently.
| Published by Image
Tumblr media
Night Moves #1 is a pretty great debut from VJ Boyd, Jordan Boyd, Clay McCormack, Mike Spicer, and Shawn DePasquale. It’s a gritty crime drama with occult overtones, but most of the weirdness is just simmering under the surface so far as the protagonists work to find out what kind of mess they’re in. McCormack and Spicer’s art really capture the feel of the seediness of the story well.
| Published by IDW
Tumblr media
Optimus Prime #25 brings it all to a close, with a flashback through Optimus’ life and little vignettes of the various Transformers from John Barber, Kei Zama, Josh Burcham, and Tom B. Long. I’m really going to miss this world.
| Published by IDW
Tumblr media
Pearl #4 is probably the most stereotypical Bendis issue to date, but the dialogue doesn’t tip over into the ridiculous territory. Most of this issue is a conversation between Pearl and tattoo boy, but at least it’s interesting conversation and not random pop culture references repeated as questions.
| Published by DC Comics / Jinxworld
Tumblr media
Pestilence: A Story of Satan #5 gives a bittersweet end to this story, filled with loss and sacrifice. It’s kind of fitting considering how bleak both this and the first series have been. Wonderful art from Oleg Okunev, Guy Major, Michael Garland, and Marko Lesko.

Tumblr media
The Punisher #4 may well be one of the bloodiest, most violent mainline 616 Marvel Universe Punisher issues yet as Jigsaw and an assortment of Hydra goons attempt to kidnap Frank from prison. Matthew Rosenberg and Szymon Kudranski are continuing to keep this book moving at a breakneck pace, like an action movie that barely takes any moments to breathe.

Quantum & Woody! #12 brings this volume to a close, with an interesting character study of the brothers at the hands of GATE and X-O Manowar.

Rumble #9 brings “Things Remote” to an end with an epic battle between the Esu and Rathraq’s friends, leading to an interesting realization for Rathraq and what he wants out of life. Stunningly beautiful art from David Rubín and Dave Stewart.

Shadowman #9 continues the “Rag and Bone” arc as Alyssa and Jack confront Sandria Darque. Gorgeous artwork from Renato Guedes, Eric Battle, and Ulises Arreola.

Shuri #2 continues the search for Black Panther, while back on Earth the women of Wakanda form a council to figure out how to maintain and administer the nation while he’s missing. Definitely some interesting concepts and character points from Nnedi Okorafor. Phenomenal artwork and layouts from Leonardo Romero and Jordie Bellaire.
| Published by Marvel
Tumblr media
Spider-Force #2 is probably one of the bleakest, mean-spirited stories I’ve read in a while. This isn’t a bad thing, but the story’s a bit of a downer as the nature of an irradiated world without hope seems to permeate everything, including characters like Jessica Drew who are normally at least a bit more level-headed. Priest is writing a very dark story, with some complicated characters like Peter’s granddaughter who grew up in the Old Man Logan universe and a Peter Parker who looks like he was abused by Uncle Ben.
| Published by Marvel
Tumblr media
Spider-Geddon #4 kind of spoils the need to read Spider-Force #3 out in three weeks, which just kind of adds to the downer feel of that series. This issue turns darker itself with a bevy of betrayals. Christos Gage has kind of stacked the deck against the spiders, I wonder how they’re going to get out of it in the finale.
| Published by Marvel
Tumblr media
Stellar #6 concludes the series and it is incredibly messed up. The conflict between Zenith and Stellar is bizarre and perverse, but I don’t really want to go into it more because spoilers would ruin its impact. Joe Keatinge, Bret Blevins, and Rus Wooton have done an amazing job with this series. Highly recommended.

Sukeban Turbo #1 is another series originally published by Glénat Editions in France, translated into English for North American markets. It’s a mix of teenage rebellion, crime, and following a boy band from Sylvain Runberg, Victor Santos, and Shawn Lee. The art from Santos is worth it on its own, very impressive layouts and storytelling.

Summit #10 kicks off the third arc for the series and like most of the Catalyst Prime series recently it undergoes a bit of a change in status quo. Val finds out that she hasn’t been hallucinating, but hearing the voice of another of her team that was essentially vaporized during the event, before having her life turned upside down as the government starts hunting her. Amy Chu continues writing the series, while she’s joined by Marika Cresta fully for the art here.

Tony Stark: Iron Man #6 begins “Stark Realities” and the launch of Tony’s eScape virtual reality game. Dan Slott, with a script assist from Jeremy Whitley, does a great job of making it feel chaotic at launch, with some ordinary and extraordinary problems occurring. The pissed off griefer is hilarious.

Web of Venom: Carnage Born #1 is an interesting reinterpretation of Carnage’s origin to fit within the new mythology being crafted in the current Venom series, also building off the recent two-part arc there with the Maker, from Donny Cates, Danilo S. Beyruth, Cris Peter, and Clayton Cowles. This is more very entertaining outgrowth of the Marvel Universe from Cates and gives us a quite possibly deadlier Carnage.

West Coast Avengers #4 concludes the first arc in fairly straightforward fashion as the team deals with BRODOK and the women transformed into giant monsters. Some nice little character moments from Kelly Thompson and great art from Stefano Caselli and Tríona Farrell.

Tumblr media
The Whispering Dark #2 continues its existential and moral crisis as the squad commits war crimes as they struggle to survive. There’s something off about how everything is happening, in how Christofer Emgård is writing the narration, but I’m not sure if it’s just the in-story reason of the go-pills. It feels like the squad is already in Hell and being judged.

Alpine A110 2018
Tumblr media

If a defender earns a run stop win, his blocker earns a loss, and vice versa.

Its super-slim Matrix Laser-LED headlights, flush deployable door handles and sleek Touch Pro Duo infotainment are all hallmarks of Range Rover’s reductionist design philosophy.
Gerry McGovern, Chief Design Officer, Land Rover, said: “The continued evolution of our design philosophy is driven by a relentless focus on creating highly desirable vehicles our customers will love for life.
The Range Rover Velar brings a new dimension of modernity to the Range Rover family with an abundance of innovative technologies, all making this vehicle a joy to drive and be driven in.
We’re honoured that the jury recognized the tireless endeavours of our designers and engineers in delivering a vehicle with compelling design, tailored technology and relevant innovation which come together to create a vehicle of instant desirability.” The luxury SUV overcame the Volvo XC60 and the Lexus LC 500 to take the World Car Design of the Year award, as voted for by the World Car Awards jury, comprising 82 influential motoring journalists from 24 countries.
Velar’s success follows the 2017 double win for the Jaguar F-PACE. Launched last year and named after the codename for the original concept Range Rovers of the late 1960s, the Velar fills the space between the Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Sport.
It is available with a choice of six powertrains, ranging from the clean and responsive 132KW 2.0‑litre Ingenium diesel to the potent 280KW supercharged 3.0‑litre V6 petrol engine.
Designed, engineered and manufactured in the UK, the Velar delivers the practicality, connectivity and capability expected from the Range Rover family.
With the latest technology and the inclusion of more sustainable materials, this luxury SUV is designed to go Above and Beyond.
