I. everything
“One day,” you muttered to the toddler sitting on your shoulders, “you’ll experience something deeply, irreversibly humbling, and I’ll be there to witness your downfall.”
Byeol responded to this with an unbothered babble. She then gathered two handfuls of your hair and yanked using far too much force to be biologically possible.
You folded like a lawn chair. “Mother—!”
Oh, that word was not suitable for button-sized ears.
“—oh, my dear mother, why? Why me?”
Technically speaking, your aunt should’ve been the target of your lamentations, but all she did was produce the child presently steering you around the kitchen like you were her own personal bumper car. Your own mother was the one who volunteered you to watch said child during the first weekend of your winter break. Only for an hour until the babysitter arrives, she’d said (raising her voice, so as to be heard over your groaning).
You adored Byeol. She made scarily accurate chipmunk sounds and possessed an immobilizing fear of grapes. She bust out a dance move before she took her first steps. The girl could have you floored with laughter without being able to say more than three words at a time. Still, this was far from how you imagined onsetting your desperately-needed few weeks off. Not to mention it was now half past three; your shift should’ve ended two minutes ago.
As if on cue, the doorbell rang. Byeol emitted an excited onomatopoeia like a golden retriever detecting the mailman. Your reaction wasn’t too far off; you swiveled your head in the sound’s direction, sang out “coming!” in a delighted vibrato, and twirled into the foyer, your hands around Byeol’s ankles anchoring her in place.
You cracked open the door and found yourself face-to-face with Byeol’s babysitter. The freckles scattered across his high cheekbones and sloping nose seemed to you like they were imprinted by the sun itself. His hair was dark, falling just shy of pitch black, and long, ending an inch or so below pierced ears. A few misbehaving strands rested over his forehead but did little to obstruct your view of his eyes: profoundly brown and pointed at either end, like poinsettia petals.
He was the most beautiful man you’d ever seen. You felt your skin warm, your heart flip. You opened your mouth.
Then Byeol hit her head against the vertical edge of the front door, loud enough for it to echo.
The panic that seized you in that moment was truly unlike anything you’d experienced before. You caught one glimpse of the stranger’s expression (as mortified as you expected), and then you were seeing your own epitaph on the inside of your eyelids, engraved with the four words “Death by Furious Aunt.”
“Was that—?” The man sputtered, and his voice was rich and full and accented and just as breathtaking as the rest of him and holy fucking shit now was not the time.
“My fucking god,” you whispered, completely forgetting to watch your mouth. In a hurry, you swung Byeol off your shoulders and dropped to a knee. You leaned in close to examine her reddening forehead and cradled the plush of her cheek; she blinked at you a few times, fascinated by the sudden sight of your face again.
“You okay, Byeollie? That hurt a lot, didn’t it? I’m so, so sorr—”
Byeol started to laugh.
Not laugh as in those little chuckles she let out randomly, like there was something inherently amusing about the kitchen cupboard, but laugh as in a boisterous, resounding guffaw, like a great-uncle at a family gathering off one too many martinis.
This rendered you speechless for the second time in under a minute. Then, you lifted your other hand to cradle her other cheek, her face now sandwiched between your palms, and squeezed.
“I broke my cousin,” you whispered, your voice was so deathly serious that the man in the doorway had to stifle a laugh of his own.
His knee brushed against your shin as he sat down to your left, folding his legs into a criss-cross. You could discern notes of lavender and orange blossoms in the delicate cologne that clung to him, perforated the air and your mind both.
“Can I?” He asked.
“Please.”
Carefully, you shifted Byeol’s small frame towards him; the manner in which he accepted her was so smooth and practiced that there was no doubt in your mind you were watching a professional at work. He settled her on his right knee, then dipped his head to look her in the eye.
“Hi, princess,” he cooed with a dulcet smile. He curved his pointer finger, dusted it beneath her chin. “Why are you laughing, silly girl?”
Oh.
Oh.
You might just continue your lineage after all.
“Y/N-ie,” she answered, still tittering.
He looked to you with a slight tilt to his head, and you nodded affirmatively. He murmured a quiet ah. “What about Y/N-ie?”
Somehow you sensed that she was about to embarrass you and pinched the bridge of your nose—in preparation.
“P-pretty.” I knew it!
The man let out the laugh he’d been holding back since earlier and tapped on her button nose, lowered his voice to a whisper that he knew you could hear.
“I agree.” His eye glinted playfully, matching his tone. “And so are you.” The bashful, high-pitched giggle she responded with sounded eerily similar to your inner monologue.
The two of you spent a little longer on the floor of the foyer making sure Byeol was okay, and then the girl upped and made a mad dash for the kitchen while yelling something about a horse, and if that didn’t confirm that she was completely fine (albeit incredibly strange) you didn’t know what would. You found her rolling around the carpet in the room adjacent to the kitchen and left her to her own devices while you and her babysitter fixed up a small fruit plate for her afternoon snack. No grapes, of course.
He told you he usually went by Felix, but that his Korean name was probably easier for Byeol to pronounce, with its easier consonants and whatnot. You asked which name he preferred, and he said either or. He was a recent college graduate, a year older than you, who was determined to spend at least the next two years doing nothing but working out his future. He accepted the part-time babysitting position to pick up some light cash in the process.
“And ‘cause I’m good with kids,” he added, splitting apart a tangerine. “So I’ve been told.”
“Oh, you definitely are,” you said, plating a couple blueberries. “You melted her earlier.”
“She melted me. She’s so cute. And you’re so cute with her—I didn’t realize I was robbing someone of their job.”
You turned your head to regard the tot and let out a helpless laugh. Byeol tired of being a human lint roller a few minutes ago and had since moved on to staring aimlessly out the window.
“She doesn’t take me seriously, and I can’t stay mad at her,” you mused. “I would be a nightmare as her babysitter, trust me. She’s all yours.”
Felix held out two overturned handfuls of tangerine slices, to which you quickly moved the platter across the counter. He didn’t respond to your comments as he placed them on the outermost edge so that they looked like rays of sun emanating from a multicolored core. Adorable.
“Will you be around much, then?”
You made eye contact with him across the counter. On his perfect face was a teasing smirk and a subtle blush. Ah, you’d been mistaken, writing off his silence as concentration—he’d been contemplating how to best flirt with you.
“Y’know. In case I need any help teaching her cuss words,” he appended.
It was then your turn to flush a couple shades darker. “Please don’t tell her mom.”
“I won’t, I won’t.” He walked around the perimeter of the counter until he was directly in front of you; the lavender and orange blossoms returned. “On one condition.”
Not even one hour on the job and he was already trying to blackmail you? You respected it. “Which is?”
As he shifted some of his weight onto the counter, something too shifted in his smile, giving it a quality that was every bit as hopeful as it was gentle.
It was then, while Lee Felix was looking at you like that, all dilated pupils and long lashes, when you predicted that he would one day break your heart. You predicted you’d let him.
“Be around,” he said simply.
It wasn’t a question or a demand. In hindsight, you think it was more akin to a birthday wish, ill-fated the moment it hit the air.

II. has changed
Felix pulled Byeol’s hood up and over her ears, and you realized he was right about the winter coat getting too small for her—she looked like a bowling pin. You muffled your snort into your scarf.
“And what was the last rule again?” He asked, his breath puffing into the frigid afternoon in tiny clouds. Byeol sighed like she knew anything of the world’s woes.
“No barking at other kids,” came the sad reply, but a toothy smile spread across her face anyways when Felix nudged the underside of her chin. She loved when he did that.
“That’s my girl,” he hummed. “I believe in you.”
“I’ll believe it when I see it,” you said, and the wounded look Felix shot you was like you’d just confessed to hating kittens. “Come on—she doesn’t have a good track record. I’m allowed to have my doubts.”
“I dunno what that means,” Byeol announced with admirable frankness, and then turned around and scurried down the porch stairs, scattering fun-sized footprints across the snowy streets.
As you braced yourself to follow her, Felix stopped you with a slip of his hand into the pocket of your puffer. His fingers first aligned with yours inside the insulated nylon, then chased the spaces in between. He leaned in close, placed a kiss on the apple of your cheek, another on the corner of your mouth. This brought a helpless smile to your face, too. He had a way of melting you and Byeol both.
“It’ll be fine,” he soothed. “A little barking never hurt anybody, baby.”
“Lix, last time somebody called animal control.”
“Ermm—a little barking never hurt most people.”
That winter, Byeol was four, and your relationship with Felix was about to turn two.
Funnily enough, you’d never figured out when your anniversary actually was. Felix wagered it was the day you met, as he knew he loved you the instant he saw you; you insisted it was months later, since it took both of you an entire winter break of open-ended flirting and informal dating to label yourselves for real. Imagine your horror when he showed up outside your college apartment on the last day of your fall semester, arms overflowing with flowers and gift bags brimming with your favorite things, the phrase “happy anniversary” on his lips three months before you perceived it to be. You’ve celebrated both days ever since.
You loved the ocean growing up. You didn’t get to visit it often, but when you did you would run up to the water’s very edge so that your toes dipped into the cold—and just stand there, observing, absorbing, until even the seam of your lips and the ends of your eyelashes were studded with crystals of seasalt. You found endless tranquility in its rhythmic whispers and unspeakable comfort in its oscillating waves, guaranteed to return after momentary departure.
Your fascination stemmed from the folktale your mother used to read to you before bed, about a sun goddess creating the earth. In the story, every component of nature was one of the sun’s beloved children. She allegedly loved them all, but you suspected the ocean was her favorite; it was obvious, the way she twinkled off its ebbing surface, the way every minuscule spot of light looked to you like a handprint of hers, left behind by eons of endless doting.
Felix reminded you of the ocean. Every day you grew more certain that you wanted to drown in him, to let his resonant voice and kind eyes sweep and keep you inside his depths. It was never salt that he pressed into your skin but warmth, stamped and sealed with caring hands and cautious lips. His deep whispers promised eternal love and temporary ecstasy and everything in between. You knew he would come back to you even if stranded in a different realm. And there was no questioning the goddess’ favoritism, either. The freckles on his face mirrored the sun’s very spots like an homage to his creator.
You didn’t love the ocean growing up, no. You had never loved before Felix.
The park was busy when the three of you arrived. Byeol and Felix recognized a few families as your aunt’s neighbors and hurried over to say hello. Your social butterflies.
“I’ll be over there,” you called after them.
Felix stopped in his tracks, looked over his shoulder. It had started snowing lightly on your walk there, and snowflakes now sat atop his sable locks. He looked like a painting. “You okay?”
“Yes, yes.” You shooed them off. “Don’t worry about me. Go have fun.”
With that, you withdrew to the sidelines, an unoccupied swingset adjacent to a baseball diamond covered in frost.
Your baby cousin was brawny for her age, which you could’ve seen coming with how she was hauling at your hair two years ago, but even she couldn’t yet terrorize the playground without assistance. Who better to make her partner in crime than her favorite Bokkie? You couldn’t help but giggle as the two revolved around each other for the better part of an hour, Byeol’s smile colossal as she frolicked every which way, Felix’s smile worried but hopelessly endeared as he followed behind. He never let her leave his shadow. She never tried to.
It was there on those icy swings that you experienced a moment of strange clarity, like you’d broken the fourth wall of your own story. You could feel the winds of change blowing your hair across your shoulders. You were aware of time’s trickling from the gaps of your fingers like liquid mercury.
Your laughter dissipated to a bittersweet smile; your smile mellowed to dewy eyes. It seemed like just yesterday when Byeol was small enough to sit on your shoulders and Felix stepped into your kitchen for the first time. Now, she was scaling a rope ladder with the celerity of a crazed monkey while Felix hovered a wary hand by her waist. The muted sunlight caught on the silver rings he wore, particularly the thin, bright one on his middle finger. You had one just like it, adorning the same place.
The last two years were the happiest of your life. Why couldn’t you remember where they went?
Lavender and orange blossoms announced your boyfriend’s arrival—that, and the sigh of fatigue that he expelled as he dropped into the swing next to you.
“I’m not cut out for this anymore.”
Byeol’s neighbor had temporarily relieved Felix of his post by taking her and his son to test out the seesaw, and you wouldn’t be surprised if the whole town could hear her enthusiastic shrieking.
“You know how people walk their dogs?” You mused. “Some dogs walk their people. She’s one of them.”
For a moment, he could only stare in disbelief at the grin creeping across your face; then, he groaned in a way that could only mean you were right on the money. You gave his thigh a sympathetic pat.
“You’re whipped, my love. It’s okay.”
“Maybe a little,” he admitted, suddenly perking up. “Hey, no barking though.”
“Are we considering that a win nowadays?”
“Do you see animal control anywhere?”
“Good point.”
Felix monitored your expression during the quiet interval that ensued—saw through the melancholy curve of your lips, the pensive slant of your gaze. There was a red tinge to the whites of your eyes that hadn’t been there before.
You saw him reach for you in your periphery. His fingers brushed a lock of hair behind the shell of your ear, remained there for three slow heartbeats, and then lifted away.
“Angel,” he murmured. “Talk to me.”
You shook your head. “It’s silly.”
“It’s not.” Not even ten seconds after the last time, he reached for you again, now to take your hand and bring it to his lap. “You know it’s not.”
“It’s just that—”
Felix thumbed over the ridges of your knuckles, his touch so gentle that it could’ve unraveled a chrysalis; it certainly unraveled you. You took a stabilizing breath.
“I wish could recognize my own happiness in the moment,” you sighed, “not just in retrospect. That way, even when it comes to an end, I’d still be able to look back and say with confidence that I was happy once. I’d like that, I think.”
His brows knit together as he processed your words, and, the next thing you knew, he left his swing trembling in his sudden absence and his trenchcoat became a black blur in the cold air.
Felix rested his elbows atop your knees as he knelt in front of you, cradled your face in his hands. He was achingly beautiful always, but you truly felt your breath swiped from your lungs at the new proximity of his ethereal features: petal-shaped eyes, wind-bitten cheeks, coral cupid’s bow. A painting.
“That’s easy enough,” Felix hummed. “How do you feel right now?”
You had zero agency in the smile this brought to your face. You wrapped your hands around his wrists, your answer quick, thoughtless. “Happy.”
He pressed his lips to the space between your eyes. “And now?”
“Happier.”
He pressed his lips to the curve of your jaw. “What about now?”
“Even happier.”
His gaze flickered to his final destination, but you beat him to it, sealing your mouth against his with urgency. The kiss that followed was so intensely loving that your head went fuzzy. How was it that you felt his adoration for you even in his pliant lips, his velvet tongue? You ran your fingers through the part of his hair. You loved when you could feel the locks flutter back into place afterwards.
“GET A ROOM!”
You and Felix pulled away from one another, wearing matching expressions of bewilderment. Byeol was approximately five Newtons away from soaring off into the stratosphere, her legs jostling around as she clung to her seat for dear life. It seemed your neighbor had a very aggressive way of seesaw-maneuvering. It seemed your cousin had a very aggressive vocabulary.
“Where did she learn—?” The two of you began in unison, then shot your heads back towards each other.
“It had to be you.”
“Outrageous—you’re the Australian here!”
“You cuss like one too!”
“Because of you!”
“So we’re just lying now?”
“Well, yes.”
Felix cracked a smile—and then the two of you were dying of laughter, his right eye squinting closed and your forehead thudding onto his shoulder. You hardly managed to get out your next words. “We have to do something about her vernacular, don’t we?”
“Oh, badly,” he replied. “Badly.”
After you expended your giggles, you nuzzled into the crook of his neck, blissful, glowing. “Thank you, baby.”
“What for?”
“Being my happiness.”
He angled your face back to his and kissed you once more, whispering I love you like it wasn’t enough that it graced your ears; he needed it embossed upon your flesh in permanent ink.
Your intermingled breaths floated up into the air like flare signals over a capsizing boat. Here marks the time we were happiest.

III. (besides myself)
He’s blonde.
That’s the first thing you notice when you see your ex-boyfriend on your aunt’s porch: the slightly off-white color of his silky tresses, grown out longer than you’ve ever seen, pushed off his forehead and tucked behind his ears.
It’s not the only thing you notice, of course. His face has thinned ever so slightly, the shadows thrown over his features by the streetlights behind him particularly opaque. His outfit is glorious, expensive, with the black blazer and white dress shirt, the top two buttons undone, the pendant of a silver necklace resting between toned collarbones. His hands are almost overflowing with what must be gifts for your family. It’s impossible to discern all of them from this distance, but you know the bouquet of white poinsettias is for your mom, the batch of brownies doused in sprinkles and icing for Byeol.
But the hair is where your gaze returns, because tucked among the platinum strands are black roots: millimeters of the color you grew to adore, peeking out as if trying to catch a glimpse of you, too.
You’re so occupied with this game of “I spy” that you don’t notice the rampant footsteps coming up behind you. Your six-year-old cousin collides with the back of your leg head-on and nearly topples you like a bowling pin.
“Is it him?” She asks breathlessly.
You come this close to berating her as you steady yourself against the wall—what did I say about treating human beings like couch cushions? But you look down to see her chin resting on the side of your thigh, her eager eyes shining so brightly that she puts her own namesake to shame. Your scolding tirade dissolves on your tongue like popping candy.
You simply sigh instead. “Yes, but—”
“BOKKIE!” She shrieks, and Felix’s head snap upwards at the sound of her voice. His tender smile melts some of the frost laminating your heart.
You crack open the door, making eye contact with Felix for the first time in six months.
“Put everything down. Quickly,” you whisper, and he obeys right away, alarmed by the urgency in your voice. A wise choice.
The last present has hardly touched down upon the wooden planks when Byeol wriggles through the doorway and charges towards Felix like an angered toro. He swivels at her bright holler of his name, lowers himself to a squat just barely in time to catch her in his embrace. The delighted laugh that leaves his mouth as he staggers backwards sounds like the sun itself; you feel lost in orbit hearing it again.
“Bokkie,” Byeol murmurs, her voice muffled in the dip of his shoulder, by the tightening of her arms around his neck.
“Hi, princess.” He kisses her temple, presses his nose against her hair. “Whoa, you’ve grown strong, haven’t you?”
“She takes taekwondo classes now,” you hum from above, and the shock in his face asks the very question that your poignant smile confirms. Yes, because of you.
Felix pulls away, cocoons her cheeks with cherishing hands. “Is that true?”
She bobs her head. “I want to be like Bokkie.”
And his eyes go impossibly, terribly soft, like he’s gazing at the horizon itself. The sight twists the knife in your gut and yanks on your tangled heartstrings. It’s all because of you.
“And kick some ass!” Byeol adds, knocking you out of your sentimental spiral. You clap a defeated hand to your forehead. Felix falls over himself. So much for fixing her vernacular.
A few minutes later, Byeol is pirouetting towards the kitchen with a couple of Felix’s smaller presents in her arms, all too happy to be of help. You linger behind as Felix takes off his shoes, your cousin’s departure leaving the two of you alone in the dim foyer.
Felix straightens. The two of you come face to face. The air hangs so heavily with unspoken words that you half expect it to start dripping.
“Hi,” he says.
You nearly laugh at the cruelty of it. The man you were certain you’d grow old with greeting you like you’ve been forced to sit next to each other on the first day of school.
“Hi,” you answer. “You look—”
The two of you say this last part in unison; old habits die hard.
“—nice,” you finish.
“—beautiful,” Felix breathes, his eyes flicking off to the side abashedly.
Your throat constricts, pulse quickens. Says you. If he was a painting before, you think he’s a sculpture now, his perfection as tangible as if hand-chiseled by the greatest artists of old. As clear as the sun’s beloved sea. You can’t tell if it’s his stylist’s doing or simply a product of him growing into himself.
“Thank you,” you reply quietly. “And thank you for coming.”
“Thank you for inviting me. I didn’t think you would.”
“I didn’t do it for me.”
No part of you wants to see the subtle wince that crosses his face at your statement, so you turn your gaze to his jewelry-laden hands instead.
For a split second, you swear you see the same promise ring settled in the same place on his middle finger. You realize what you’re really looking at only after blinking the phosphenes from your eyes: the thin tanline that it left behind. The realization fixes and destroys you all at once.
Then, Byeol starts wailing about Felix’s whereabouts like an actress hired to spare you from this very interaction.
“Her Highness beckons.” The smile you manage feels like drying cement. “Shall we?”
On your way to the kitchen, you notice the cologne emanating from his person smells only of citrus—no lavender. Its absence steadies you, deludes you into believing that it’s a stranger you’ve just let inside.
That illusion lasts for exactly three hours and forty-eight minutes.
It’s clear that the breakup has your family walking on eggshells, but it’s even clearer that their adoration for Felix has never wavered. You’ve never resigned yourself to the restroom so many times in one night, only to stand with your back against the door, unmoving, unfeeling, listening to the low thrum of his voice through the mahogany. Chatting comfortably with your aunt, bursting into laughter with Byeol, reminding you of the time you considered him family too.
With every glance you toss your reflection, you discover new cracks in your composure. Has he noticed them yet?
After you come out of the restroom for the sixth time, you notice a light spilling from Byeol’s bedroom into the hallway. A low Australian accent graces your ears, followed closely by a tinkling giggle, and your body nudges you towards the sounds before your head can intervene.
You give your cousin’s door a feather-light nudge. It opens a few centimeters more and grants you vision of Byeol tucked into bed, Felix knelt at her side. Both of their faces are illuminated by the flaxen light of the nearby lamp.
Felix brushes her choppy bangs out of her eyes, a teasing smile on his lips. “Can I tell you a secret, princess?”
This wrests from her another fluttering laugh; you swear he’s the only person in the whole world who makes her shy. “Sure!”
“Promise you won’t tell anyone?”
“Promise.”
“Not even Snernard.”
“M’kay.”
“Or Bong.”
“M’kay.”
“Especially not Trash the chicken. I don’t trust him.”
“I know, I know, I won’t!” Byeol huffs, and Felix laughs at her outburst. You also snort into your sleeve, amused (and deeply perplexed) by your cousin’s plushie-naming conventions.
“Thank you,” he hums, and he lowers his voice enough that you don’t catch the next thing he says.
All you perceive is the way that Byeol reacts. She sits up straight in bed, resting her back against her pillow. Her features rearrange themselves slowly, awfully, like the spread of cherry-flavored cough syrup over one’s sore throat, into the furthest thing from her trademark too-big-for-her-face smile.
Your stomach plummets to your fucking ankle.
“Why?” Her voice sounds microscopic.
“Well, do you remember what Bokkie’s dream job is?”
Byeol considers for a moment. “Being a singer?”
“That’s right.” He runs a knuckle over the hill of her cheek, the action achingly familiar, immensely fond. “And I found a place where I can do that, but it’s very, very far away. I won’t be able to come home very often.”
The telltale signs appear as he speaks; the final word sets them into motion. A tear streaks down the side of Byeol’s face. It hardly leaves the corner of her eye before it’s being intercepted by a doting swipe of his thumb.
“No,” she replies.
“You've grown so much.” Another tear falls. He wipes away that one, too. “You’re growing so well.”
“No,” she repeats.
“You’ve stolen the light of every star in the sky already. The whole galaxy will be yours someday, sweetheart. I know it.”
“I don’t want it,” she whispers. “I want my Bokkie.”
His vision starts to blur also. “But you don’t need me anymore.”
“We do.”
You know the precise moment Felix’s heart pauses in his chest because it is when yours does too.
“We?” He repeats, and she nods.
“Your dream job is being a singer.” Now Byeol is the one to reach for Felix, her delicate hand cupping the curve of his cheek. Her fingers are too small to catch his tears, she tries anyways—
“But what is your dream?”
It becomes too much for you.
You turn around. A choked sob escapes from behind the hand you have sealed to your mouth, causing both heads inside Byeol’s room to whirl in your direction. You don’t care that you nearly break both of your ankles beelining up the stairs; you only care to get the fuck out of that hallway.
You topple into your room, close the door behind you, and crumble.
Your quivering hands find purchase around your folded legs; your eyes squeeze shut against your knees. Rivulets of tears cascade over your shuddering lips like ruptured barrels of wine, left in the cellars of your soul to age, to spoil.
You never wanted your grief to see the light of day. Pouring your regret over every sidewalk wouldn’t change the past. Splashing your heartache across every wall like the world’s most fucked-up mural wouldn’t alleviate the pain of losing him. He was the one who left, but you were the one who’d asked him to. Feeling, yearning, mourning. Those always seemed so futile.
But you’re not just crying in this moment, rocking back and forth on your bedroom floor; you’re bleeding, the wounds you never treated igniting all at once as if exposed to vinegar, leaving you writhing and gasping in their wake. How you wish they’d been able to heal sooner. Maybe then seeing Felix tonight wouldn’t have splintered your soul like dropped porcelain.
Your door clicks open. Your breath hitches in your throat with a quiet scratch. The gulp of oxygen you intake tastes of oranges.
Every night before you fall asleep, you still think of the last time you visited the sea. The cool sand chafing against your toes, the coarse winds slapping your hair against your face hard enough to sting. The weather was terrible (you neglected to check the forecast before making the drive), but when you stepped onto the embittered coastline, you took what felt like the first real breath of your young adulthood. The fog melded to your skin as if melting a blindfold away, showing you the world in its entirety.
You return to that beach when Felix pulls you into his chest, and there’s no fog this time. Just the faint smell of lavender and your ocean, guaranteed to return after momentary departure.
Feverishly, Felix presses his lips to your temple, the apple of your cheek, rests his forehead against yours. Brokenly, he utters, “it’s you.”
You can feel his shaking in every part of him: the tickling breath, the fluttering eyelashes, the unsteady hand that reaches into the pocket of his blazer. You graze your fingers over his jaw, an attempt to steady his careening heart, only to lose yours in the fray also when he produces a small red box of unmistakable dimensions.
“God, it’s you. It always has been, always will be. Anything can change except for this.” His voice disintegrates as he speaks. You disintegrate as you listen. “Everything has changed besides myself.”
Felix leans back in to pepper kisses across the expanse of your wet features, then brings himself to one fated knee. He flicks open the lid. You don’t even spare the ring a glance; you don’t doubt its perfection. All you care to look at is the love of your life, deliquesced to adoration and tearwater.
“Thank you for being around, my dream.” His soft smile tends to your scars like ambrosia. “Will you let me do the same?”

☆ ellie discovers the quickest way to get a girl underneath her
Tumblr media

☆ warnings -> mention of blood, injuries, all that good shit that comes with skateboarding, probably really inaccurate skating talk, drugs, tbh probably really bad writing but bare with me here, no concept of stranger danger from reader when she sees a hot girl (ellie) for plot reasons lol

☆ ☆ ellies playlist! ☆ ☆
u don’t have to listen but i made it to listen while i write and i thought it’d be fun to add
my masterlist
Tumblr media
ellie was no stranger to making mistakes, she’s human, it happens… however, she usually doesn’t make this many stupid choices within the span of one single hour.
today, ellie was running late.
mistake number one.
she practically flew out of the door and hopped on her board, mumbling a half assed apology to her neighbor who she accidentally shoulder checked on her way out as she put on her headphones.
she’s probably going way too fast but she’s been skateboarding for years, she can handle it. she still has the penny boards that she started skating on when she was 12 hanging up in her living room, right beside some of her other boards she’s had since then that she’s either destroyed or replaced. she weaved in and out of the people walking practically effortlessly, not caring if she was pissing anyone off, they’d live. she’d never have to see them again, anyways.
she opened her phone to turn on her music.
you, on the other hand, were taking your time; you had a good while until you had to be at work. you’ve created a habit of looking for ladybugs in the bushes outside your apartment complex after you noticed that the plant is home to many of the little insects. usually you just glance at the plant as you pass by, but today, you fully stopped to look.
unfortunately, you were unaware of ellie being just feet away from you.
guess you’re no stranger to mistakes, either.
granted, ellie would have had enough time to stop… if she was paying attention.
which she was not.
mistake number two.
you hear a string of curse words behind. you barely manage to turn around before you’re pushed into the bushes by a girl who promptly lands on top of you. her skateboard rolled away pathetically. it’s almost like it was embarrassed, too.
if there had been any ladybugs, they were definitely squashed now.
you open your eyes slowly to find the other girl hovering just above you. her necklace dangles temptingly close to your lips as she pushes herself up. she's still on top of you, her face just inches away from yours. she blinks a few times, slowly taking in the situation. she seems lost in thought, the wheels in her head turning painstakingly slowly as she tries to comprehend what's happening and her part in it.
she’s taking way too long to get off of you, though, which only serves to frustrate you more.
“hellooo? can you get up?” you mumble through gritted teeth to the girl above you, turning your head to the side to avoid her gaze.
in hindsight, you probably should’ve asked if she was okay, but right now all you wanted to do was get up and pretend like this never happened.
you don’t even want to know how many people saw you fall.
“oh— oh fuck.” ellie stuttered, taking one last glance at you before she moved herself onto the sidewalk, not finding the strength to stand up fully just yet.
she grabbed her headphones that had been flung off in the impact. small scrapes lined the side of them, but at least they probably still worked. she put them around her neck, letting her head fall back in her hands. she took a deep breath, trying to get a grip on her emotions and the situation.
you sigh as you get up, and ellie can tell you’re mad based solely on how the exhale of air sounded.
“uh… you good?” you ask after an uncomfortable pause, eyeing the other girl. it was obvious you didn’t really care, but at least you tried to be polite.
you were still taking your time collecting yourself, brushing leaves out of your hair and wiping blood from your hands onto your jeans (thank god you wore black jeans today). you were definitely going to be sore tomorrow, but other than your scraped up hands, you were fine.
just really pissed off.
ellie looked up at you and then immediately looked back down, running her hands over her face once more. “yeah, i’m… good.”
you roll your eyes as you hold your hand (the one with the least amount of scrapes) out towards ellie, offering to pull her up. you can't help but feel pity as she sits on the sidewalk. not in a sympathizing way, but more of a "damn, this girl looks pathetic" way. she hesitates for a second, but then grabs your hand and smiles weakly.
“thanks.”
as much as you know that this situation partially is your fault, you’re still annoyed. you had spent so long getting ready today just to have some idiot push you into dirt.
when you speak again, your words come out harsher than you intended… not that you minded. “yeah. watch where you’re fucking going next time.”
ouch.
okay, maybe (keyword: maybe) ellie had caused the worst part of this, but she wasn’t going to sit here and take you blatantly being rude when you’re just as much to blame as she is. “maybe if you didn’t think you owned the sidewalk, i wouldn't have ran into you.”
you reach down beside you and grab her, now shattered, phone and her (also shattered) glasses. you raise your eyebrows as you look over the broken screen.
“maybe if you were paying attention.” you pause, wiggling the phone in front of her face. “you would’ve realized i stopped walking.”
she snatched her things back, she didn’t have a comeback for that.
her phone was fucked… usable, but the screen was shattered so badly that if she scrolled on it she’d probably slice open her thumb. small price to pay, she figures.
it’s not like she’s gonna buy a new one… but she would have to cough up the money for new glasses, though. damn it.
“why the hell did you stop walking anyways?”
you hesitate, looking back at the bush sheepishly, vaguely gesturing towards it as you speak again. “i— not that it’s any of your business— i wanted to see if there were any ladybugs on the leaves.”
“…oh.”
well now ellie just feels like a dickhead, because that’s actually really cute. that was not the answer she was expecting.
you continue looking away and ellie sighs, attempting to push past you to grab her skateboard.
mistake number three.
the second she takes a step, she falls into you again, her ankle completely giving out underneath her. you catch her, your arms wrapping around her hips as you hold her up.
ellie has never wanted to die more than she did at this moment.
her face was literally sandwiched in between your chest. she pushed herself back, hopping slightly.
what the fuck just happened?
“oh my fucking god. i’m so sorry. i– oh fuck, this is so awkward.”
yeah, awkward was one word for it. you stare at her blankly for a moment before you kick her skateboard towards her.
you could feel her touch lingering on your body like she was still there. if your hands were just a little lower you would’ve…
“its– it’s fine. dude, are you sure you’re alright?”
you sound more like you care this time, at least.
not that you do care, or anything,
just trying to make sure she wasn’t seriously hurt.
that’s all.
“i’m fine.” it was an obvious lie, but she was preoccupied with thinking about how she was going to skate to and from work if she could barely walk… she’d have to deal with it, she decided. there wasn’t any other option for her right now, she was already late.. “i’ll be fine.”
“very convincing.” you reply, looking her up and down. “you’re not seriously about to get on that thing again, are you?”
“not that it’s any of your business, but i don’t have any other choice, i’m gonna be late to work and this is all i have to get me there.”
you narrow your eyes at her.
no way this girl was reckless and stupid.
“what? you can’t be serious… you’re still going to work? are you an idiot?”
ellie doesn't answer right away, glancing down at her skateboard for a bit. you’re right, she should call out, but she hated the prospect of missing a day of work. money had been tight, even one missed day would be hell for her and her bank account.
“you gonna give me the money i’d lose if i called out?”
you opened your mouth to reply, but she was already flying past you, very clearly having a hard time but also very clearly not caring.
“don’t stop in the middle of the sidewalk next time, dumbass!” she yelled, leaving you standing in the same spot just watching her leave.
…and kinda wishing she’d come back.
just so you could get the last word.
when you walk into work, it’s unfortunately obvious that you’re pissed off, if the way your manager immediately asks what happened as soon as you clocked in was anything to go by.
you’re thankful for the excuse to rant, though.
“god, abby, where do i even start? i literally just walked out of my apartment and some girl on a skateboard slammed into me and we both went flying into a stupid plant. got a face full of bush and not even the good kind.”
“jesus,” abby laughed, picking a leaf out of your hair. “was she hot?”
“was she hot? is that seriously all you’re gonna say?”
“...well?”
“i hate you so much… but yeah, she was.” you admit, defeat obvious in your tone. you’re well aware that this would’ve been a lot easier for you if you didn’t find the dumb skater attractive. you’d been close enough to her face to see every detail… her freckles, her eyes, her lips— damn it. you couldn’t get her out of your head.
this felt like a sick joke.
abby clapped her hands together. “this isn’t a completely bad thing! did you get her number?”
“no, abby, i didn’t get her number. i was too busy trying to get her away from me because she was stupid and annoying.”
“you’re no fun, could’ve got yourself a skater girl.” she frowned. “are you okay though?”
“you should’ve led with that question, you know?” you huff, looking at the scrapes on your palms again. “i’m fine.”
“yeah, yeah. i should’ve.” abby tosses a pastry towards you. “here, for your troubles, on the house. go sit down in the break room for a little bit, you look like a mess.”
“gonna ignore the last part. thanks, abs.”

“jesus fucking christ.” ellie mumbled to herself, hopping off her board before she opened the door to the small vinyl store she worked at.
“late again, williams— oh. oh wow. you look like shit.” austin, the owner of the shop spoke, nudging ellie as she walked by. he was wearing a stupid smirk on his face which made ellie more aggravated.
asshole.
“real nice.” ellie grumbled, putting up her skateboard and backpack. “sorry for being late, won’t happen again, i just— some people are so stupid, you know?”
“by ‘some people’ do you mean you?” he laughed, spinning on his chair. he mocked the way ellie spoke, doing a high pitched voice that sounded nothing like her.
god, he was a 30 year old man-child, but he pays her… so… whatever. she’ll deal.
“ha-ha. good one.”
“ya gonna tell me what happened or are ya gonna leave me guessin’?”
“what happened is people don’t know how to walk anymore.” she scoffed, taking stock of the money she had to count before putting it in the drawer. “so fucking stupid.”
“by the looks of it you don’t know how to walk anymore, either. you gonna be able to work? i’m not payin’ ya to sit around, so if i need to call someone else in…”
she glared at him, trying to see if he’d explode if she stared hard enough.
he was right though, unfortunately, ellie was walking like she had just learned how to. it wasn’t the worst injury she’s ever got from skateboarding, but it was definitely inconvenient.
“yeah, i’ll be fine.” ellie snapped, shifting her weight to her good foot to avoid making her injury any worse. “jesus christ, it’s a twisted ankle. i’m not missing a limb.”
“but—“
“drop it.”
he put his hands up in mock surrender, the smirk still on his face. “oooookay, okay. whatever you say williams. you were still late though, let’s go back to talkin’ about that. what’s the count at now? is this the fifth or sixth time this month?”
“i’m sorry, i’m sorry. shit’s hard when you don’t have a car.” ellie sighed, punching in the numbers on her register. “i’ll do better. today was not my fault, though.”
“am i gonna have to be more strict with you? everyone else shows up on time, you know?”
“yeah, yeah. whatever.” ellie rolled her eyes, trying to focus on work and push the pain out of her mind. “everyone else has a car.”
ellie really did not like austin. his whole holier-than-thou attitude irked her to no end.
still, it beat being jobless, so she knew she shouldn’t complain.
“don’t let it happen again.”
“i won’t, i swear. i’m really sorry.”
“right, okay, i’m gonna go to the bathroom real quick, you alright out here?”
she bit her tongue, holding back a groan.
austin ‘going to the bathroom’ was his way of saying that he’s gonna get really fucking stoned and then sit around and do nothing all day. this was a daily occurrence, at this rate.
“yeah, yeah, i’m good.” ellie mumbled, shoving away the annoyance she felt when he walked past her.
austin was a dickhead, but he was never outright mean, not really. he just… he thought he was better than everyone. a classic ego-centric prick.
as much as she hated him, she did like having a job— and being able to afford a place to sleep at night.
“ohhh, ellie, i gave you more shifts, like you asked.” he said before he walked out, smiling at her. “take a look at the schedule when ya get the chance.”
he has to be kidding.
she’s been begging for more shifts since god knows how long ago, and he decides to give her more now? when she doesn’t even know how she’s gonna be able to make it to work?
amazing. just what she wanted!
“great.” ellie muttered, shooting him a glare even though he was already gone. “more hours that i don’t know how the hell i’m gonna get to.”
she shook her head, austin wasn’t worth getting this pissed about— especially when he did try to do what she asked.
the store was never busy in the morning, so she sat in austins chair, finally taking a second to herself. she went over her options on how this was going to go.
she could have asked dina for a ride, if dina wasn’t off on some work trip about three hours away for the next two weeks, taking her and jesses shared car with her.
terrible timing.
she’d take public transportation if it was reliable and also if she didn’t have a few bad experiences with it already.
that wasn’t really a good option.
uber was definitely not an option. she already was going to have to buy new glasses and eventually pay for her phone to get fixed, she wasn’t about to drop $50 a day on ride.
she was screwed.
nothing was working out for her right now— the universe was laughing at her, just like it always did.
she wanted to kick and scream, but that wouldn’t help anything, plus she wouldn’t be able to kick very well right now.
oh well… she’d be fine, she’d just have to push through it.
her phone buzzed in her pocket and she winced when she seen the cracked screen again, it was so wrecked that it barely let her type in her password.
──── ✧《✿》✧ ────
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
──── ✧《✿》✧ ────
was ellie stupid for agreeing to go out of her way when she was already struggling to walk? yes.
does she care? no.
jesse was a good guy, he’s done a shit ton of favors for her, so this was the least she could do.
she’d never been to the bakery, but she always smelled it when she’d pass by, and it always looked like it’d be good. she did deserve a little treat after the day she had, anyways.
thank you jesse and jesse’s money.
when ellies shift is over, she feels so much worse than she did earlier, and austin repeating that ellie looked like shit over and over again wasn’t helping.
ugh.
“you’re a wreck, williams—“
“—goodbye austin, byeee. i’m leaving, out the door, shifts over. see you tomorrow.” she slammed the door shut, letting out a frustrated sigh as she got on her board again. “god. fuck off.”
the bakery wasn’t far, it was literally right across the street, but it felt like it was miles away to ellie. she leaned on the wall for a second to catch her breath before she walked inside.
it was a cute shop, one of those places you see on pinterest or instagram, with the led light signs and fake plants, it was actually really nice. she doesn’t know why she never came here before.
“let me know if i can help… oh god. it’s you.”
she looks over at you and she starts to wish the fall had just killed her on impact.
“please… pretend like this morning didn’t happen. i don’t want to deal with arguing right now.” ellie sighs, not giving you time to reply to her before she goes into saying her order.
she looked at your name tag as she paid, she could barely see what it said, her eyes squinting slightly as she tried to make out your name.
you scribbled little smiley faces and stars around your name, which was cuter than ellie would like to admit.
“go sit, i’ll bring your stuff to you after i box them, ‘kay?”
“i can wait here.“
“sit.”
“fine.”
she sat at one of the booths, attempting to use her phone without losing a finger. she wasn’t even paying attention to the content, just scrolling mindlessly as the memories of this morning replayed in her mind over and over again.
she was hoping to never see you again.
maybe coming here was a mistake.
“here.” you say after a few moments, placing the boxes on the table. “enjoy.”
you were being kind, but she could read behind the curtness of your tone.
you thought she was dumb. she could always tell by the way you talked to her; that look of disdain on your face.
“thanks.” she said, and then the silence took over again. it was obvious that neither of them wanted to start another conversation after the way the last one ended.
ellie couldn’t help but notice how just scraped up your hands were. you had bandages on them, but the blood that seeped through was bright red, like it was demanding to be looked at.
demanding ellie to feel bad for what she did.
damn it, she really should’ve just paid attention this morning.
would’ve saved her a lot of trouble.
she got up, sucking her teeth and hissing as she shifted her weight. she leaned on the table for balance as a few curse words left her mouth.
“god, you’re the dumbest person i’ve ever met.” you declared, confirming her suspicions.
she scoffed, trying to shake the pain away from her ankle.
man, this sucked.
“shut the hell up.” ellie snapped. “you don’t have to be so snarky, you know? i’m already dealing with the consequences of my shitty morning, you can drop the whole, ‘i’m better than you’ bullshit. if you listened earlier, you’d have known i said that i have no other choice.”
“i did listen, idiot. i don’t mean to sound like i’m trying to be better than you, okay? i’m sorry. but you seriously don’t have anyone that can help you out? do you have friends?”
“i have friends, asshole. they’re just either busy or i don’t want to inconvenience them. what’s it matter to you anyways?”
you don’t really have an answer, you’re not sure why it matters. maybe it’s because ellie looked really miserable, or maybe it’s because it had been partially your fault that she’s hurt… or maybe both. but you couldn’t shake the feeling of guilt about the situation she was in.
“i have a car.”
ellie paused, looking up at you. she wasn’t sure if she heard you correctly, or if this was just some weird, shitty joke.
“okay? congratulations?”
“don’t make me spell it out.” you reply, annoyance clear in your tone. “i’m saying, you’re obviously hurt, and it’s kinda my fault, so… if you needed a ride…”
“no.”
“don’t be stubborn. look, i get it, we’re not on the best terms right now, but i can’t just let you go like this without at least offering, y’know? plus, you seem like you could use the help.”
ellie’s mind was screaming at her to accept— it was logical. you offered a ride, she needs a ride, she should accept your offer.
“i could be a serial killer for all you know. you don’t even know my name.”
“yeah, okay. you? a serial killer? i’d just run away. not like you’d be able to chase after me.”
“hey, i can run pretty damn fast, you know?” ellie hissed. if she wanted, she could definitely chase you down… but she’d rather not do that at the moment. that was probably not a great idea. “hell, i could be an axe murderer.”
“what’s your name?”
“huh?”
“are you dumb?”
“…it’s ellie.”
“‘kay, ellie, now i know your name and if you’re observant— which i doubt but i’m gonna play devils advocate— you know mine. nice to meet you. now we know each other. i’m not gonna sit here and play 21 questions, do you want me to take you to your place or not?”
“what if you kill me anyways?” she asked, she was kidding, she just wanted to piss you off.
“i am not gonna fucking— you know what, you’re annoying. never mind.”
“wait. i’m sorry.”
fuck.
maybe this whole thing about you wasn’t so bad. you were just— abrasive.
she swallowed, forcing herself to stay calm. “i’ll take a ride.”
“what’s the magic word?”
“die.” ellie hissed. “you’re not funny.”
“almost! that’s four words. do you want a hint?”
ellie stared at you blankly for a few seconds before answering. “i am not saying please.”
“you just said it.” you grinned. “look, i get off at 6:30, that’s like… 20 minutes from now, if you don’t mind waiting. i’ll come get you when i’m off, sound good?”
“yeah. that sounds good.”
this is such a bad idea.

mermaid boat boys, ft a boat
my gift for @theslyvoid9 for @mcytblrholidayexchange
ramblings, process and doodles under the cut
this was sosososos fun to do. i got the prompt and was immediately SO exited and motivated. however i had a large art piece to finish for school so didn’t manage to start properly for a good few weeks. however i DID do initial doodle ideas and composition plans, mostly during class, that are pictured below
Tumblr media
by the time i could start in earnest, i’d lost quite a bit of motivation and was struggling a LOT with the sketch and proper proportions, so i didn’t start properly until a week or so before the deadline. oops, sorry this is so late.
Tumblr media
this was my first quick colour draft, i was originally going to do the effect with squiggly lines that light creates under water but every time i tried it it just looked terrible so i didn’t. i also changed the positions of etho and joel.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the sketches. i struggled wayyyy to much. i think i spent like 4 hours trying to get it right. BUT i did in the end!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
lineart, flats and detailing. i lost etho’s lil floaty side fins here due to my scatterbran and i mourn for them but not enough to draw another set of fins. the detailing took sooooo long and i don’t really like the boat, but don’t have the motivation nor time to change it. i also imagined some kelp winding around them to make the background more interesting but never got around to it in the end. during the detailing i spent 3 hours drawing on a laptop with the mousepad and it was the worst 3 hours of my life. never again. etho’s fins were inspired by those beta fish with the pretty fins. i love them but they were beyond horrible to draw.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
shading and lighting. i played around with the opacity of the light streaming through the water but i can’t attach any more images so whelp. yippeeee it’s done. it took be 23 hours in the end and i’m proud of it!!! my giftee also suggested some cannibalism stuff and i REALLY love that idea but didn’t know how to portray it without being graphic so i didn’t go for it. HOWEVER i really want to do an autocanibalism dl pearl piece in the future so yayyy. theslyvoid if you want me to tag you in that if i do it lmk since it was one of your requests :)

-please excuse any grammar errors, it’s been a long few weeks lmao
———————
“satoshi and saori, grab your coats so we can leave”
“okay mommy!”
it’s currently 6:23pm and we have to be at satoru’s job by 7pm as he’s receiving an award tonight. it took me at least 2 hours to get the twins ready and dressed. satoshi didn’t want to put his suit on and saori kept crying about wanting to wear make up so she can “impress daddy”
“wait, before we leave let me take a picture of you both! you look so cute” i said to the twins. they smiled at me and gave each other a hug and waited for me to take their picture. after i finished taking their pictures, we left the house and walked to the car
“put your seat belts on!” i said while getting into the car with the twins. i waited until both of them put their seatbelts on before driving off to satoru’s job
“daddy!” saori screamed as soon as she locked her eyes on satoru. she let go of my hand and ran full speed towards satoru, who was speaking with some colleagues
“my babygirl!” satoru said, turning around and smiling at saori. he picked her up and she gave him a kiss on the cheek
“guess you’re stuck with me for the night honey” i said to satoshi who was still holding my other hand
“i don’t mind mommy, i want to stay with you” he said. i smiled at him and walked towards satoru
“hey baby you look amazing” satoru said, giving me a kiss
“thank you, so do you” i told him
“your family is beautiful gojo!” i turned my attention to his coworker in front of me
“thank you!” satoru said proudly
“they look just like you gojo” one of his other colleagues said
“yeah, i spent 9 months carrying both of them just for them to come out with white hair and blue eyes. the disrespect” i said jokingly which made everyone laugh
“i think that their facial features look more like you… they just stole gojo’s color pallet” his colleague said which made satoru and i laugh
“how old are you?” satoru’s work friends asked satoshi
“five” he said shyly, moving behind my legs to hide
“yeah, we’re this many!” saori proudly said while holding up her hand, showing 5 fingers
“so cuteeee, omg i want twins now” another colleague said, this one being a girl
“thank you so much” i said, a huge smile on my face
“babe are you and the kids hungry?, they have a buffet out and ready. my parents and suguru are here too somewhere. probably sitting down at a table” satoru asked, turning to me
“i’m sure the twins are hungry. i’ll feed them, but i’m going to wait for you before i eat” i told him.
“i won’t be too long, just have to finish making my rounds” he said
“okay mr.COO” i said, a big smile on my face. satoru returned my smile and tried to pass saori to me
“no daddy! i want to stay with you!” she said, upset
“don’t you want to eat?” satoru asked her
“i’ll eat with you” she said. satoru looked at me for help
“hey, you wanted a daddy’s girl… now you got her. you always spoil her rotten” i told him
“not fair. you wanted a mommy’s boy, we both got what he asked for” he said, playfully pouting
“come on saori, daddy has to work” i said to her, grabbing her from satoru
“okay” she said, tears slowly making it’s way to her eyes
“hey don’t cry!, i’ll be right back okay? wait for me to get back so we can eat together okay babygirl?” satoru said to her. she immediately started jumping up and down, any sadness in her body now being gone
“okay!” she said
“mommy, can we go sit down now? i see uncle suguru and auntie yuki over there” satoshi said
“sure baby” i told him. i grabbed saori's hand and walked over to the table where everyone was sitting
“grandma! grandpa!” the twins yelled as they saw satoru’s parents
“my grand babies!” satoru’s mom said as she opened her arms , waiting for a hug
“well, if it isn’t my favorite grandkids” satoru’s dad said
“we’re your only grandkids” satoshi said, earning a loud laugh from mr.gojo
“smart, just like your grandad” he said. i walked over to them and gave both of them a hug before walking over to suguru and yuki, also giving them a hug
“hey, where’s my niece?” i asked suguru
“she wanted to stay with mom. she’s been over there for 2 days now, she doesn’t want to leave” suguru said while shaking his head
“that’s because mom and dad always spoil the kids when they’re over there. for a 7 year old, it must be heaven staying over there” i told him
“every weekend she wants to go over there. now that it’s summer break i doubt she’ll ever want to come home” yuki said, a happy smile on her face
“yeah, the twins are going over there tomorrow and are staying for a few days. mom and dad keep asking for them, they were just at satoru’s parent’s house for almost a week!” i told her
“well hey, now you and satoru will have some alone time” she said, making sure to throw a wink at me
“i know. he’s been so busy with work lately, we didn’t have time to go out or anything while his parents had them” i said, glancing at the twins who were each on their grandparents laps, talking and smiling
“okay i’m back… why haven’t any of you started eating yet?” satoru said as he came up to our table
“we were waiting for you son” his mom said while smiling at him
“yeah, it is your big night after all” his dad said
“well, let’s go eat. my kids are hungry” he said while laughing. everyone laughed with him and we stood up and made our way over to the buffet. satoru and i both held two plates, one for ourselves and then one for one of the twins. once we grabbed everything we and the twins wanted to eat, we made our way back over to the table. we started eating, talking and just having a good time
“excuse me everyone? may i have your attention please?” everyone in the building looked towards the stage and saw a man in a nice suit speaking into the microphone
“hello, my name is yaga. i will be presenting the awards for the night as mr.gojo asked me to himself” i glanced at satoru’s father who continued to eat his food
‘wouldn’t the ceo of the company give out the awards?’ i thought. i shook the thought off and continued eating while watching everyone who received an award go up to the stage and get theirs. satoru ended up winning 4 different awards
“for this last award, the ceo will present it himself” yaga said. everyone began to clap as satoru’s dad began to stand up
“grandpa can i come?”
“me too? pleaseeee?” the twins asked him. he laughed and nodded his head. they both jumped up from their seats and went to hold his hands as he walked up to the stage. satoru and i immediately took our phones out and started recording
“good evening everyone. i just want to say thank you to all of you who came out here tonight, and congratulations to all of my wonderful employees who’ve helped me and the company out in so many different ways. i appreciate each and every one of you. i have my grandchildren here with me tonight. they mean everything to me, say hi” satoru’s dad said as he lowered the mic so the twins could speak into it
“hello!” satoshi said
“hi! that’s my daddy over there!” saori said and pointed to satoru. the room erupted in a fit of laughter
“they’re so cute”
“they’re so well behaved
“awww omg look at them!” i heard from around the room. satoru blew a kiss to saori
“look at my babies!” i said to myself, feeling like a proud mom. suguru, yuki and satoru’s mom also had their phones out recording the twins
“i just love them so much. anyways back to the awards… i’ve been thinking over this for a while trying to decide how i wanted to give this award. my wife stayed up with me for many nights helping me collect my thoughts. instead of saying all the mushy stuff i originally had planned, i’ll just get right to it” he turned to his left and motioned for someone on the side to come out. shortly after a worker came out holding three different trophies, two small ones and one larger one. he handed them to satoru’s dad
“ thank you!… really quick, i would like to give these 2 awards to 2 very hard workers. they come in on the weekends and give me company in my office. i help them with homework and in return they show me unconditional love and support. i don’t think i could go on living without these two in my life. so i would like to give satoshi and saori gojo these awards” he said. everyone started clapping and cheering. i stood up in shock, making sure i was still recording, i moved closer to the stage to record and take pictures. satoru followed right after me
“look at our babies” i said to satoru, tears threatening to fall. i watched the twins look at their grandfather in shock before happily grabbing their trophies and giving him a hug. they then got ready and posed for the professional photographer
“i didn’t know my father was planning on doing this. i’m so happy he did though, look at their smiles” satoru said to me. i turned to look at him and saw that he was crying
“okay, now that my grand babies have gotten their trophies, it’s time for my last and final award. i’ve owned this company for over 40 years, my blood, sweat, and tears are in this company and i couldn’t be more proud of how it came out. with that said, I’m at the age where i want nothing more than to relax on vacation with my wife and grandkids, so that leads me to my next statement. my one and only child, my miracle child, gojo satoru, it’s finally the time where i let you take over the company… now come up here and get this trophy mr.ceo” satoru father said, tears in his eyes. satoru looked at me in utter disbelief
“congratulations baby! i’m so proud of you!” i said to him, giving him a kiss. everyone around us was cheering. i could no longer hold in my tears, a few fell onto my face from happiness. satoru gave me one final kiss before he walked up onto the stage and gave his dad a heartfelt hug. the twins also hugged him and the photographer took a picture of all of them together. satoru’s mother came up onto the stage and took a picture with them as well
“now one with just you guys!” his father said. i went on stage and stood on the other side of satoru, he put his right arm around my waist and had his left hand on satoshi’s shoulder. the twins stood directly in front of us and we posed for the camera. once all the pictures were done we all returned to our seats and the event continued on as usual.
“hey satoru, congrats on your promotion!” one of satoru’s coworkers said as she came over to our table. she called him satoru instead of gojo so i assumed they’re close
“thanks akari” he said to her
“a few of the guys want to take a shot with you to celebrate. wanna come with me?” she asked him, leaning down closer to him
“i’m driving home tonight so no” satoru said, taking a glance at me
“i thought you came with suguru?” she asked
“i did, and i’m leaving with my wife and kids” he said, getting slightly frustrated
“one drink won’t hurt though!” she said, trying to convince him to drink
“he said he’s good. the answers no” i said, getting irritated by her constant begging. she looked at me with a shocked expression while satoru smiled at me
“okay okay, no drinks then. just come swing by and say hey” she said. satoru sighed and stood up
“i’ll be right back” he said to me before he followed akari to where the men who wanted to celebrate with satoru were standing
“she was clearly flirting with him…right in front of you at that” yuki said, scoffing in disbelief
“she’s always like that. that’s why i usually try to keep her and satoru separate while at work but she always will always find some reason to enter his office and bug him” satoru’s dad said. i didn’t respond and instead checked on the twins. they were eating some cake and watching videos on mine and satoru’s phones
“i’m gonna head over there with satoru for a little… wanna come babe?” suguru asked yuki, she nodded her head and they both walked over there to join satoru
“y/n, can i take the twins back with me to our house?” satoru’s mother asked me
“sure. i’ll pick them up tomorrow because they’re going to my parents house around 2pm” i told her
“oh don’t worry, i’ll drop them off to your parents house! you just relax and enjoy your time with satoru” she said. i smiled and thanked her. they didn’t need any clothes, toothbrushes or anything since they each had their own rooms, clothes, toys, ipads, and everything else at each of our parents houses
“so you’re really not our ceo anymore huh?” a man said to satoru’s dad as he sat down in satoru’s previous seat
“nope. my son is more than capable of running this company on his own. hell, he’s been helping me run it since he was 17” satoru’s father said, a laugh following him after he finished speaking
“that’s nice. i’m sure he’s gonna do great things with this company” the man said, a small smile on his face
“how have you been naoya? how’s your father?”
“he’s been good, we both have been. what about you?”
“all has been well!”
“i see… what a beautiful family you have here” naoya said as he looked at the twins and then me
“yes… very beautiful” he repeated, his eyes locked on mine. i cleared my throat and turned to my right to check on the twins again, who were still preoccupied with their cake and videos
“yes, well my son was lucky enough to find such a beautiful bride” satoru’s father said. i turned my head and smiled at him
“he’s a lucky man” naoya said, turning to face satoru’s parents again
“y/n sweetie, we’re gonna start getting ready to go, it’s getting a little late” satoru’s mother said. i said okay and told the twins to take one more bite of their cake
“but i’m not done yet mommy!” satoshi whined
“don’t worry, there’s more cake at grandma’s house! and it’s your favorite flavor!” satoru’s mom said. the twins smiled and got up to stand with satoru’s parents. i gave his parents hugs and kissed both of the twins on their forehead
“do you want me to walk you out?” i asked his parents
“no it’s okay sweetheart, satoru is headed this way so he can walk us out. i have to speak with him about something anyways. go enjoy yourself” his father said
“you guys leaving already?…. and stealing my kids again i see” satoru said as he stood behind me, a smile on his face
“yes, can you walk us out? i have to speak to you about something” his dad said. satoru followed them outside. i turned around and walked back to our table and saw that naoya was still sitting there on his phone
“is your family not here with you tonight or something?” i asked him, sitting down in a different seat than before so we wouldn’t be sitting side by side. he looked up from his phone and immediately started smiling
“nope, just me tonight. i came with some friends though” he said. i nodded my head and took a sip of my drink that was still on the table
“so..” he said, getting up from his seat and moving into the empty seat right next to me
“how long have you and satoru been married for?” he asked me
“all these chairs and you decide to sit right next to me?” i asked him as i scooted my seat away from him
“sorry, i didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable. i just wanted to get to know you better” he said. i felt a little bad for being so mean to him
“5 years… we’ve been married for 5 years” i told him
“wow 5 years? you guys dated for how long before that?” he asked
“2 years. i got pregnant after our honeymoon” i said
“amazing. his father told me that you two have known each other your entire lives. i can tell you mean a lot to him. that diamond on your finger is quite literally blinding… how are you able to walk around with it shining in your face?” naoya said. i looked down at my wedding ring and laughed at his joke
“that’s just satoru’s style” i told him, a smile now on my face
“i see. the diamond is in the shape of a heart too, wow” he said, slightly scooting closer to me to look at my ring, which i happily showed him
“yeah, it also has a little bit of pink mixed in there too! our names are engraved on the inside of the band, his wedding band is the same. he’s so thoughtful when it comes to jewelry” i told him, smiling from thinking back to when satoru proposed to me. the beach proposal with airplanes writing out will i marry him was so romantic to me. i was pulled out of my thoughts by naoya grabbing my hand gently and pulling to towards himself
“yes, very thoughtful indeed….though if it were me, i would have gotten you 3 rings with 3 different diamond shapes that you can switch out every other day” he said. i let out a awkward laugh and tried to pull my hand back
“i don’t need 3 ring-“
“you don’t need satoru. you’re too beautiful to be with someone like him. he’s so cocky” he said. my slight smile dropped as i looked at naoya. i thought he was cool but obviously i was wrong
“let go of my hand please” i told him
“just listen to me beautiful, i can make you feel good… much better than lousy ass satoru can-“ naoya was cut off by satoru roughly pulling his hand away from mine and gently pulling me up from my seat, wrapping his arm protectively around my waist
“flirting with other people’s wives now naoya? unbelievable” satoru said while glaring at naoya
“jealous satoru? scared i’m gonna take your sexy wife?” he said, standing up and glaring back at satoru
“don’t react satoru, you know he’s not worth it” suguru said as he walked over to us with yuki
“ah, suguru. you and satoru really are always together. must be pretty happy huh? now you and satoru have both taken over your father’s companies” naoya said. both suguru and satoru ignored him
“let’s go” satoru said. he grabbed my purse and i made sure i had both of our phones and all 3 trophies from tonight before grabbing satoru’s hand and following him towards the door, suguru and yuki coming as well. once we made it outside i felt someone grab my arm
“wait” we all stopped and turned around to see naoya holding onto me
“let go of her right fucking now!” satoru yelled, his anger quickly rising as he approached naoya. i snatched my arm from naoya and place my hand on satoru’s chest trying to calm him down
“toru lets just leave. we were having a good night… don’t let him fuck it up” i said to him
“she’s right satoru” suguru said. satoru took a deep breath and turned back around as we continued walking to our car. naoya continued to follow us. once we made it to the car, i put the trophies in the back seat as satoru opened the passenger side door for me and began walking to the drivers side
“you’re really gonna stay married to a man like that?” naoya asked. i ignored him and closed the back door before walking over to suguru and yuki who were parked just beside us. i gave both of them hugs and said our goodbyes. satoru came over as well to begin saying bye
“someone like satoru doesn’t deserve happiness! he took everything from me! i wanted to become the next ceo. i worked here longer than satoru has. it’s not fair, he got the position because he’s his son! satoru has been privileged since the day he was born. to make matters worse, he has a loyal best friend, a hot wife, and 2 beautiful children who are twins?! it’s just not fair! i should be the one who get’s to come home everynight to you and the kids. i should be the one making love to you and making you feel good, i should-“ i walked up to naoya and slapped him across the face. everyone stood there in silence, shocked from my actions
“you make me sick. the fact that you’re standing here speaking ill of my husband right in front of me is crazy. this is why you have no lover, no trusted friends, no children, and no company. don’t speak to me ever again” i said, turning around once i was finished talking. i walked back over to our car and got in, closing the door. satoru got in right after me and started the car up
“you want to go out somewhere?” satoru asked me, not wanting to bring up anything else involving naoya. i turned towards satoru after putting my seatbelt on
“sure, where to?” i asked
“a club. suguru and yuki are already going. he just asked me if we were down to come but i didn’t get the chance to ask you because of everything that was going on” he said. i laughed and agreed with going
———————after the club—————
“y/n, you need to drink some water” satoru said as he carried me into the house
“babeeee, i’m fineeeee” i said, holding tightly onto his neck to keep myself from falling
“i knew i shouldn’t have let you drink that much” satoru said while kicking the front door closed. he skillfully moved through our dark house and went straight to our bedroom. he gently placed me down on the corner of our bed and then walked over to the bathroom and turned on the bath water
“take your clothes off and get into the bath. the smell of the alcohol yuki spilled on your dress is extremely strong” he said to me as he walked out of the room and back downstairs. i listened to him and began taking my clothes off before stumbling over to the warm bath. i got in and turned the water off as the tub was filling up quickly
“toru!….. toru?!” i called out satoru’s name wondering what was taking him so long
“i’m here baby what’s the matter?” he asked as he enter the bathroom, a cold water bottle in his hand
“get in with me please?” i asked. he laughed at me and handed me the water bottle that was in his hand
“you’re so cute when you’re drunk” he said as he started unbuttoning his shirt
“actually, i’m not that drunk… just a little tipsy” i said. satoru got into the large tub and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me onto his lap and making my chest hit his chest
“satoru gojo!” i yelled, surprised by his sudden actions. i gently slapped his chest while he laughed at my reaction
“i love you so much y/n. you make me so happy, i honestly think i’m the luckiest man in the world. i have a beautiful, loving wife who blessed me with two healthy, beautiful children” satoru said while looking at me
“and now you’re the ceo of your dad’s company!” i said to him excitedly. he didn’t respond, instead he just looked at me and smiled
“yes, i truly have everything” he said. i smiled at him and gave him a kiss
“i love you too toru. thank you for taking such good care of me and the twins. you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me” i told him, tears falling from my eyes
“my little cry baby… i’m afraid you’ve passed this trait down to our children” he said while laughing, earning himself another slap on the chest
“come here” he whispered. i sat up straight as satoru pulled me into another kiss, this one being more passionate than the last one. the once innocent kiss started to slowly heat up as satoru pushed his tongue into my mouth. our tongues moved against each other for a while before i started sucking on his tongue
“fuck…you’re gonna make me go crazy y/n” satoru said once he broke the kiss
“that’s the plan” i said. he smirked at me and shifted my body on his lap. he gently pulled me up and positioned himself at my entrance before slowly pulling me back down. as i sunk down onto his dick i watched satoru’s reaction. the way he threw his head back and moaned out my name while keeping his eyes closed. the way his mouth was slightly open and how his eyebrows furrowed as he continued entering me
“sorry baby, i just couldn’t wait any longer. since i saw you walk into the ceremony with that tight dress on i couldn’t think about anything else but fucking you” he said. satoru didn’t wait for me to respond, instead he pulled me upwards and then slammed me back down onto him causing me to wrap my arms around his neck to keep my balance
“wait… let me do it. i want to watch your face while i fuck you” i told him. he let go of my hips and smirked at me
“guess you’re in charge tonight” he said as he leaned back against the bathtub, lifting his arms to hang on the rim while looking at me waiting for my next move. i looked at him, a huge smile on my face as i thought back to my little 15 year old heart broken self. i really married my first love, had kids with him and is living a dream come true. i couldn’t be any happier right now.

Teacher's Pet part 12
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Reader meets Missy. It's a mixed bag.
A/n: sorry for another delay. Hope you enjoy. More doctor fuckery and allusions to the doctors current devolution. Yay I hope you enjoy yayyy.
What were these truths the Doctor was talking about? At least he was being honest! A damn shame to your overloaded brain, but you appreciated it nonetheless. Maybe you would bring yourself to honestly about your profession after. Maybe. You’d have to test the waters and go off what tonight’s surprise was.
Your heart slammed itself into it's cage.
The next few hours were hell on Earth. What was this secret he was going to reveal?
You always dealt with waiting so poorly…
You got through your final tutoring via the university without nary a hiccup, but your brain combed through all the possibilities you could scrounge from sci-fi shows. What was that one nearly-sixty years old program that the BBC had?
Too late now…
You did sneak home to change into something that didn’t scream ‘lazy’.
Soon it was nearly nine. As you walked to his office, you felt like you were at a wall, breathing your last free breaths before the firing squad came upon you. You worked on your breathing exercises as you went to knock the door.
He was there, illuminated softy. Grey hair fluffed, in a burgundy shirt and hoodie. He looked utterly (and unfairly!) Breath-taking. You felt both underdressed and overdressed.
“Good evening!” He smiled, it was one of those easy, unnerving, comfortable smiles that framed his eyes so well.
“Hey.” Was the best you could muster. Your vocabulary stolen from your tongue as easily as the breath from your lungs over him…
How could someone who was quite literally older than the rededication of the Second Temple look so good?
Alien magic, must be.
“You remember that Missy character?”
“Yeah, her? Them?” You struggled.
“Her.”
“Ah.”
“She’s been on her best behavior. Stunning, really.”
“And?”
“I think you two need to meet. I’ve cleared the idea with her other…Guardian.”
“Oh?”
“Nardole…he’s an egg. I sent him to Norwich for a packet of crisps.”
“Yeah, that makes sense.” It didn’t.
You rubbed your lip together in a partial move to rip the skin off, but also to provide some sort of outlet for the nervousness that was still coming up from the pit of your stomach.
What was Missy?
He offered the crook of his arm, “Shall we go?”
You took it.
The walk was nice, silent. The weather was warming up nicely. Mild night.
Soon you went to a place obscured in some hardly-looked after corner in the university’s basement. He pressed some hidden point and the wall snapped in two, revealing some contraption. He unhooked himself from you and started entering codes, some little monitor popped up and scanned his eye.
It asked for a verbal confirmation.
He spoke in some language that made your blood run cold and you feel small. Something about it was haunting. Like singing.
It unveiled another wall with a turn-lock, from which he produced a key and unlocked it.
Finally, it seemed safe to part through.
“What did she do?” You asked, voice husky with fear.
“Enough.” He let a little snort escape.
You nodded and went in.
It was a grand room, a couple of old, antique chairs and some meager side tables faced what was a mighty cage! It looked like glass, on the platform. Inside this guided cage was a woman, in simple Victorian clothes.
She played piano very gently.
“Missy.” The Doctor seemingly pleaded.
The woman inside slammed the lid shut and turned around.
She had the most insane, yet oddly lovely smile. Cat-like.
She was thin.
“Oh…you’ve brought me a plaything?” She grinned.
Her accent sounded Scottish. Like the Doctor.
“Do all aliens sound like Scotsmen?” You blurted out before you could monitor your thoughts.
“I’m sorry!” You amended.
She laughed, it sounded like bells.
“One would certainly hope so!” She responded.
“I’m Missy! Short for Mistress!”
“Oh, I’m (y/n).”
She shot the Doctor some look. He shot her another look. It seemed they were having an entire conversation without you. You felt alienated. You looked between them.
“I’ve heard nothing but good. Typical!” She approached you at the edge of her enclosure. You felt caged. Missy stalked you as if she were a lioness and you were some disabled, freshly birthed gazelle. You started sweating, it dewed down your back.
“Oh!”
“My best enemy.” He elaborated.
You nodded more, at a total loss for words. Your breathing became manual.
“So what did you do?”
“Oh, this girlie is rude! I love it!” She shot the Doctor another look.
“Don’t talk behind my back?” You assumed.
Missy nearly fell over! She started laughing, “Rude and clever! He’s certainly taught you well.”
Your eyes could have shot out of their sockets.
“You’re like Jedi, yeah? Can communicate with your brains?” You explained.
“Sure enough? Jedi are the Lego ones?” the Doctor asked.
“Oh, I’m going to enjoy her.” Missy predated you more. Nose pressed against her enclosure.
You got the briefest of synopsis of their entire relationship. You felt yourself blinking from your brain overloading. It felt like someone dumped out your mind and shook the contents up before tossing it all back in, haphazardly.
You swallowed heavily.
“So Time Lords. Do you all have such…intense names? Mistress, Doctor? So is there a Bachelor?” You felt your arms move as if to elaborate this point.
“Different generations have different naming convention. My brother is Irving Braxiatel.”
“Of course. Makes sense. My name’s (y/n) but now all the kids are McKinsleigh or Harley or whatever.”
“Exactly.”
“Oh, my dear Doctor, you have a smart one on your hands. Now how do you like the stars, kiddo?”
You shook your head quickly. “Nope, no stars for me. I’m not going up there. Nope. I know what happens! I’m genre aware. I know what goes down in space. And if you’ve had a lot of dead companions previously…not me. I am not that suicidal!” You felt like a horizontal bobble head of sorts.
“See!” She slapped her thigh. “This one’s got common sense! She’s not going to swan off and get herself killed by a giant bird!”
It seemingly touched a tender point.
“Oh, here you go, bringing up Clara! What’s with you?” He seemed on the verge of spitting. “We’re having such a normal time!”
“Oh, she was my manic pixie dream bitch too!” Missy countered, looking like the cat that swallowed the canary.
You made several notes to bring up later when you were going to bring up some new ground rules for this relationship, if this Missy didn’t tear you to shreds and eat your entrails like a tin of tuna.
The cat metaphors kept coming…
Were Time Lords cats?
No! Cats have barbed penises and that Time Lord you were fond of didn’t…
“May I get a tuba now?” Missy pleaded.
“We’ll see.”
You found yourself fiddling with your necklaces in a very rapid way with one hand. The other twisting the massive gold hoop in your one ear. Nervous habits coming in strong to help you self-soothe in this inopportune moment…
Somewhere the Doctor produced a flask of tea and poured some out, it was herbal. At the moment you couldn’t discern much more than that.
He gave it to all, including Missy, who’s barrier seemed penetrable to him, but not her. As she touched it and it repelled her.
Where did he pull out all these things?
What was the barrier made of? Did it work on genes?
Your mind roared for an explanation.
You reminded yourself to take it in strive. You weren’t working with logic and sanity anymore. You were in some contrived sci-fi story now.
It was the only way that you’d survive this!
Missy asked you something pleasantries involving your studies, and you divulged your grand plans.
“Oh, not overly ambitious. No martyr complex. Doctor this one may survive you.” Her focus splintered.
You felt out of your depth even more. You were taking it in stride, but that felt like it was lacking. Although…an opportunity did arise.
Did you have the guts to take it?
You pondered on. If it did turn nasty, you were outnumbered. Two of these so called ’Time Lords’. One you. One very mortal and squishy you.
Missy seemed to know far more than she probably should. You craved a bit more knowledge.
Shouldn’t you be privy to details about the man you’ve been not only fucking, but falling madly under his spell? And dare you utter it- loved?
“So what’s the deal with you Time Lords?” You asked Missy.
“An ancient race. We’re the pinnacle of evolution. Very few races will or ever will get close. Some have tried, they fail to become as optimized.”
“A bit eugenics-y.” You responded, your brows knitted together.
“Funny collars.” The Doctor chimed in. “That’s the opposite of optimized.”
“Oh, Mister President! How salacious!” She cooed in his general direction.
“President?” Your eyes boggled from their sockets.
“Technically. I’m also the De Facto President of Earth in an emergency. Neither here nor there…”
“And he’s ever so humble! My dear, Doctor. If this were two bodies ago you’d be preening!”
You looked down and blinked hard, as you started to chew on the inside of your cheek.
“Oh, him? Yeah, I was a but more vain. I mean, how could I not? All youth and fire and forged from Rose’s love.”
“And who the hell is Rose?” Your jealousy creeping back in.
“Oh, Doctor! You dog! She was very blonde! Broke many universes trying to find him again!” Missy gaped, as if she had personally sprung this trap.
“She helped me. I was raw from the War. She saw my hearts and that’s all.” The explanation was clearly him trying to not irk any jealousy in you.
“She got a wee clone! They’re in a parallel universe!” Missy simmered up, swinging around on her ankles.
“You are annoying.”
“You could have let Torvic kill me!” She put her hands on her hips and pulled a sour face.
“I’m sorry, who’s Torvic?” You were being bombarded with more information than you could handle.
“I was a soft lad. This kid kept bullying me. He was going to kill me, but here does come ikkle little Doctor with a rock! Bye bye Torvic!” She announced it like she was a wrestling presenter.
“How old were…you all?”
“Ten!” Missy clapped her hands together.
“Death’s champion!” She elaborated with a sick glee, pointing at the Doctor.
“I’m assuming you can…change sexes.” You kept piecing it together. “Were you ever a woman?”
“Maybe next go!” The Doctor said.
You leaned down and rested your fingers on your jaw as if to keep it from falling off onto the ground.
“So…how does that all work?”
“Two hearts, they prevent death and kick in our ancient rights!” Missy flourished.
“It’s a bit more complicated than that.” The Doctor stepped in. “We get a new face, new body. New chances. We keep our core. But everything from our personality to our kidneys.”
You inhaled.
“Anything else I need to know…assuming that you do that in front of me.” You curbed your attention to the Doctor. You wanted answers and you didn’t want him to give up this particular body. You didn’t want to play this particular game of Russian Roulette. His body right now was perfect…from his hair to his toes. Like it was personally designed to drive you mad. A sexy, silver fox with dynamic light eyes and a smile that robbed you of the ability to breathe, plus that voice like was a good motorcycle engine. And, a perfect package that hit right in the right spots…
You were objectifying an immortal alien.
What had your life become?
“That shit’s…crazy.” You gave an exceedingly reductive statement.
“No promises, but I’ll try.” He gave you a small, reassuring smile…
“Before precious Rose, there was his wife, that Scottish lad, that journalist Sarah Jane Smith, me, that ginger twink who’s name escapes me and probably a few I’m forgetting! And after there was-” Missy smiled a positively evil grin.
You put your hand up and stopped her from going into any more detail.
“Sarah Jane Smith? The mega-journo who always had the hottest stories? The one who was always leaking the top bylines?” You instinctively tore off your thumb nail.
You kept putting your hands up and down. Going to point a finger. You felt like a malfunctioning kettle.
“W-w-what? Do you…see in me?” You raised both of your hands up as you shrugged and struggled. “Universe traveling blondes? Award-winning journalists? A ginger twink? This jailbird?” You voice scaling up octaves to those only dogs could hear as you slapped your hands over your thighs and grasped them tightly…
You started those dratted breathing exercises and placed your right hand on your only heart.
The Doctor seemed to be sorting through some sort of dilemma in his mind.
“Yeah, tell her!” Missy cheered.
You shot her a murderous glare.
She scrunched her nose and stuck out her tongue.
“I see you as warmth. You are yourself. I see you as someone who’s good. Despite it all. A good student and a great partner. Someone to enjoy while I can. Nothing to complicate or drag into danger.”
Something about these words and his gaze into you had you fighting these words, but becoming placated by them. They were like a cozy quilt on your worries…
“I’ve put others I loved in danger. Learned those lessons. Never again.”
You felt your mind slowing down from the anger and self-doubt.
It felt like truthfulness. You’d take truthfulness.
The looks that Missy and the Doctor passed between each other has you shiver in fear.
You felt like you needed to vomit.
“Can I go home now?” You squeaked out once you felt a but more emotionally regulated.
“Of course.” He helped you up and turned to Missy, “No tuba.” He told her.
She raged on a bit as you felt yourself being tucked into his side and escorted out.
You leaned against a wall as he locked the Vault up.
He folded you under his arm.
“So what do you think of my best enemy?”
You felt yourself feeling suddenly very sleepy and like you had been dreaming. You were very conflicted and of many minds. You would have to work through all this later. There was just so much information and new thoughts that needed evaluated. Though you felt something holding you back from it. The emotional toll of the past few days, inevitably catching up to you.
What was that something was holding you back?
Probably your love of the Doctor.
You felt yourself crying.
“Why don’t I walk you to your flat? What’s the address?” He wiped your face with some old-fashioned looking hankie.
You gave him your address. It was a longer walk, but maybe it would do you good.
You started to walk. It was going somewhat smoothly.
After a silent walk, you stated as you got closer to the safety of your home. “I think she’s insane. Probably it’s for the best she’s in that…situation. Like sectioning, but worse? She could be fun, if she tried. I feel…yeah. I mean, if you’re a package deal. A bit weird she’s your ex. But yeah.” You answered his previous question.
“Is she a threat? To me?” You asked, jealously.
“No, we’re finished. Ancient news far older than your civilization…”
“Ah, okay.” You felt more satisfied.
“She is quite…pretty.” You remarked.
“Hadn’t noticed.”
You nodded, as you arrived to the front door.
“This is me.” You pointed. “You…want to come up? Get a night cap. I know I’m going to need it.” You joked, as you used your pinky nail to scratch the bridge of your nose.
“Not tonight. How about after you finish exams? I still have to some things done in that regards.”
“Valid.”
He leaned down and pressed hip lips to your forehead.
“Good-night, (y/n).” He smiled as he closed his hand over yours and gave it a squeeze.
“Good-night, Doctor.” It still felt strange to not call him ‘Professor’. You didn’t know how to feel. Calling him ‘Professor’ felt better coming off your tongue.
So much to over-analyze.
You opened the door and went up to your flat. After pouring yourself a large shot of vodka to take, you laid on your favorite chair and zoned out.
So much for a normal, nice time at university!

Yayyy~
Then I would like to request something fluffy with Lucienne. The reader his head over heels for Lucienne. She loves any praise she can get from the librarian and always is staring longingly at them. And also blushes when they make any physical contact.
Lucienne isn't an idiot nor is she blind. They feeling is mutual and she finds the reader quite adorable and just loves to tease her. But that changes when the reader decides she wants to write a book about how much she loves Lucienne forgetting that merely imagining a book is enough for it to appear in the library. Lucienne being Lucienne obviously reads it and when they finish they find reader to give her the most passionate and toe curling kiss they can.
Turn it smutty or keep it fluffy if you'd like. I would be happy either way.
And if this makes you uncomfy in anyway you don't have to write it.
Thank you for reading all of that and I'm sorry that was so long. 😅😅
made of love for her

navigation | warnings : cringe i apologise | a/n : it’s finally here! i’m sorry you’ve been waiting for ages for this | tags : @knight-of-flowerss
Tumblr media
You couldn't remember when these feelings for the librarian began or why they did in the first place, Lucienne was just infatuating to you.
She was knowledgeable, she knew practically everything, you loved learning of the dreams people had every day, and Lucienne enjoyed telling you abut them.
Currently, Lucienne was organising a few of the new books that had arrived when she heard you tumbling into the library, laughing to yourself.
"And what's got you into a fit of giggles this fine morning?" Lucienne teasingly asked you.
You stopped dead in your tracks, cheeks heating up secretly hoping only you and Lucienne were the ones in the library. "Oh you know, just something Mervyn told me earlier. Nothing that...important."
In fact, it was very important. He had told you that Lucienne harboured some feelings for you. You took the information as a joke, after all, how could someone as important as Lucienne have feelings for a measly dream like you?
Lucienne wasn't an idiot, she knew exactly what Mervyn had told you, because she was the one that told him to tell you in the first place.
"Hmm, you wouldn't mind helping me put these away would you? They just arrived this morning." She said as she handed you a leather bound book.
"Of course!"
She gave you a smile and you both began to organise the rest of the books.
Tumblr media
A few hours had past before your lord Dream had come to ask for Lucienne's assistance.
She looked between you and Morpheus, contemplating whether to tell him you're busy or just go with him.
Lucienne gave up, gave you an apology and walked off behind Dream.
You didn't notice Dream looking between you and Lucienne.
Tumblr media
As you waited, you had come to the decision that you wanted to write a book about your feelings towards Lucienne, like a diary almost.
You had begun to think of all the things you could say, but there was so much you wouldn't know where to start.
You failed to notice the golden glow that came from one of the bookshelves. It seems the dreaming was generating a new book, one with a violet cover and golden writing.
Tumblr media
When Lucienne came back to the library, you were nowhere to be found.
Odd, Lucienne thought.
As she inspected the library further, she noticed a new book had arrived. Must be a new dream.
Lucienne plucked the book from the shelf, the first thing that intrigued her was the colour, purple, her favorite colour, then she read the title.
Made of love for her.
Of course you always have to know the author's name before reading any book.
Y/N Y/L/N.
Huh?
Lucienne read the first line of the first page, and couldn't bring herself to look away.
Tumblr media
Lucienne didn't need to finish the book to have her answer.
She had a slight suspicion that you might've been interested in her a little bit, in fact she knew, but she never got proper confirmation.
Lucienne planned to find you later on, but for now, she must finish in the library.
She put the book somewhere safe to retrieve once she had finished.
Tumblr media
The next day, Lucienne set on a quest to find you. She couldn't find you the day before, you were probably doing your 'dreaming duties' as you liked to call it.
She rounded a corner and saw you in a little garden both you and her had to beg Morpheus to create for you.
You were sat picking the flowers and inspecting them.
"Y/n, there you are." Lucienne gripped the book tightly in her hands.
"Hey, what's that you've got? Is it a new dream? Could you read it to me?" You pestered eagerly, patting an empty spot next to you so Lucienne could sit.
She chuckled lightly. "It's actually not a dream, to be honest, I'm not quite sure what it is."
"That makes it sound more appealing."
She read you the title, and instantly you were hooked.
Tumblr media
As she read you soon realised what the story was about.
You kept looking between the pages and Lucienne, wondering if she knew.
"Lucienne, I've just remembered-"
"Why didn't you just tell me Y/n?"
Lucienne knew you weren't going to answer her, so she threw the book down, grabbed the back of your neck, and brought your lips together.
The kiss became very heated very quickly, your hands wrapping around her waist and her hands getting tangled in your hair.
Tumblr media
A week later, you were both seen holding hands around the castle and sometimes even sharing cheeky kisses in the library.
Everyone was relieved at the fact you and both finally confessed, but now annoyed that you were both apparently being 'over affectionate'.
Dream, the ruler himself also being very relieved as your longing looks got in the way of his brooding.

You were getting ready for bed with Fennesz and hugging your doll you were kinda scared since it was your first time staying over at the devil butler Palace.

ENDKING!STEVE
Chapter 14
Every night
Steve pov:
As I left the battle scene...my clothes covered in blood, scratches and bruises. I cleaned my skin with a wet cloth, as the water slide down my skin feeling the burning sensation left by the water droplet. I whimpered at the feeling and shrugged it off...
I got out of the bathroom and entered my room...it was quiet...i went on to the balcony and stared over the lands surrounding my kingdom, it's been peaceful these past few night...unlike when I was still back home.....the night was peaceful...the sky was wonderful...the wind blowing through the banners that was attached on the walls, it was almost a dream...a terrible dream...I went back in the room lying down on the warm bed...and every night, I let my body rest hoping everything would be ok...
Narrator pov:
As Second’s turned to minutes and minutes turned to hours, Steve struggled to keep his eyes shut for about almost 2 hours...Steve opens his eyes to see the phantom hovered above...the voices kept him awake for as long as they want, the figure standing on the ceiling it's head facing towards Steve. It's 3 eyes glowing with a magenta hue, its horns bent like the waves, and it's dark wings covering its shadows body...(kind of horrifying if you ask me)...
As Steve sat on the bed he came to see more of the phantom figures but...different? One had turquoise eyes, a crown siting with 1 brow and it was...crying?...The other had emerald eyes the other had a scratch and with a crown with 2 brows. The last one had eyes that are colored purple, a crown sitting on 4 brows and...a halo? Steve didn't even know these 'people' and yet he hasn't even met them...days passed and Steve has been seeing these phantom figures watch over him...he got out from bed standing on both legs then...
He felt the pain that rocket through his entire body Steve began puking out his blood, his eyes were in horror as his blood spilled out his throat, his vision began to blur as he tried to stand up. The pain shifted to his right leg. He pain he felt made him scream in terror. His left legs skin turned to scales, the brown-ish pale color of his skin began to turn black blood wasn't stopping from pouring down his mouth. At this point he was drowning in the pool of his own blood, screaming in terror, hearing his right legs bones break into two. The bone was showing but blood wasn't flowing, the bone shifting back inside of the skin (danm that's gonna hurt...) Steve still stunned from the horrible feeling of pain from his left leg...he couldn't take it anymore...
Steve pov:
I couldn't do this anymore...
Every night, I see Them
Every night, I see those eyes
Every night, I see them watching
Every night,...I see them more
Every night, I couldn't take it anymore...
Every night, I see my broken body...
Every night, I see my scars
Every night, I see my hands
Every night, I hate myself more
Every night, I couldn't hold it anymore
Every night, I don't want to look at myself
Every night, I don't want to look at anyone
Every night, I don't want to feel anything
Every night, I wished to never exist...
Every night, there always there...
Every night, I loose my touch
Every night, I slowly kill myself
Every night, I loose myself
Every night, I can't tel if I'm real
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
Every night...I realize on what a monster I've succumbed to...
Narrator pov:
Steve was left alone...crying in pain...wishing this sick nightmare would be over...but remember...
You chose this decision...therefore you whom must pay the price
End of chapter 14...
First chapter/previous/next
Yayyy!!! More ANGST!!! Whoooooo...more of the new oc's just dropped there not open for asks yet...but they soon will. This was supposed to have a song but...I guess that's for the next chapter...and I did say that Steve was going to transform mid battle but it didn't really fit the chapter so I just took that idea and yeah...I put that idea here instead :] (I will give no, mercy to these characters)

Trees and traditions
Day Twelve of WangXian Christmas Stories!
The tree farm where the Lan family had been purchasing their trees from for the past hundred of years laid several kilometers away from the city, in a rural area dotted with picturesque homes and welcoming people. The trees there were beautiful and healthy, some towering so high up it almost looked like they were piercing the sky, whereas others were so tiny they barely measured up to a toddler.
The toddler in question being A-Yuan, who ran excitedly among the trees with his friend Lan Jingyi, whose own parents had come picking a tree and taken him with as part of a generations-long tradition. The tradition required that, when a Lan married and their first child became five years old, they would bring the child to choose the year’s Christmas tree every year until the child themselves married and passed the custom on. It was a sweet thing to do, even if a bit discriminatory to second or third children, who technically did not have the privilege of their elder sibling - but in Lan Zhan’s case, that rule did not apply, because Xichen always let him choose. Puppy dog eyes induced little brother privileges, he always said.
The couple in charge of the farm looked as though they had barely aged from when Lan Zhan was a child, only the few lines around their eyes and greying hairs betraying their ages. The lady, a plump, extroverted woman, greeted them with a wide grin.
“A-Zhan! A-Ying! How wonderful to see you again this year!” she looked around, trying to peek through the trees. “Where is the little one, though? Shouldn’t he be five by now?”
“He is! He’s around here with Jingyi, hopefully not destroying anything...” Wei Ying replied, trying to spot A-Yuan among the greenery. It had not been a good idea to dress him in a green jacket at all.
“Ah, they’re children, it’s fine!” the lady laughed. “My son ruined so many trees climbing them when he shouldn’t have that I’m surprised we still have any growing anymore! Let’s go collect your son and see if he got his father’s expensive taste!”
Lan Zhan’s ears blushed only a little as he looked away, trying not to pout. The lady always liked teasing him!
---
They found A-Yuan next to the second biggest sugar pine tree in the farm. A-Yuan fit perfectly under it, having dug himself a spot into the thick layer of snow.
“This one, I want this one!” he shouted, happily waving his arm towards the tree. Both his parents looked towards one another and sighed, the farm lady laughing boisterously.
“He’s just like you, A-Zhan! I remember one time you chose a tree too high for your living room, and it took your uncle an entire hour to get you to choose another!”
Wei Ying could only join in the laughter. “Thankfully, we have a tall enough house now.” And he called towards A-Yuan. “Alright! We’re getting that one!”
A-Yuan yelled out an excited “Yayyy!” as he ran towards his parents and nearly fell on his face in the snow had Lan Zhan not caught him in time.
“Have some tea with me while my husband gets everything ready.” the lady invited, “And some cookies for the baby, of course!”
“Cookies? Do you have chocolate chip?”
“Obviously! They’re my favorite!”
“Mine too!”
---
A-Yuan munched on his cookies quietly, taking the occasional sip of warm milk as he watched cartoons in the farming family’s living room.
“I hope I am not overstepping,” the lady began, “but I feel like we’re family by this point and you know me, I can’t keep my mouth shut! So I want to ask, when will you guys get A-Yuan a little sibling or two?”
Lan Zhan’s ears pinked up for the second time that day as Wei Ying let out a quiet laugh.
“We’re thinking about it. You know how it is, work and everything...”
The lady clicked her tongue half jokingly, half disapprovingly. “The same response I get from everyone! I miss when this place was full of little Lans! Now I barely get two or three every year! You lot need to get to business!”
Wei Ying found the woman’s antics amusing. “Trust me, if I could get pregnant, we’d have had a football team by now!”
“That’s what you all say!” she frowned, theatrically, before breaking into a fit of giggles. “I’ll stop now, I don’t want A-Zhan to be angry with me, even if he looks like a little rabbit when he does!”
---
“Lan Zhan.”
“Mn?”
“We’re going to need a bigger car.”
“I can see. I will ask for the truck.”
“Yay, truck ride!”

ummmmm guys. i have had a day let me tell you. super long diary like entry lol
i had to get up early to go see my papa and help him move some furniture, and although i was running on a total of 2 1/2 hours of sleep i was excited. he lives out in the city and its about an hour and a half drive but the highway is completely surrounded by trees so that was a fun ride. listened to lots of music and talked about barbies with my dad. we counted 21 total yard sales on the trip.
got home and ate lunch after unloading some beds. my papa wanted some old twin beds out of his house so we took them home. i have a new mattress now!! which hopefully means far less daily back pain!!
after lunch we decided to go to a few of the yard sales we passed by. and let me tell you i got a HAUL. i got a pair of really nice pajama pants that have little skulls on them, then at the next one they had SO MUCH STUFF!!! like guys.. i got a sweater for 25 cents.. GUYS. i got a little black sweater, a flowy black summer top, a fucking black velvet CAPELET, and the most gorgeous black 80s prom dress; although sadly it does not zip and needs alterations but its WORTH IT!!! it has really big poof sleeves and a massive flower sash omg guys its AWSOME. at the same place i also got a little fake ivy for my kitchen :D it desperately needed a little life, a big ass puzzle to work on with my brothers, and they had MOUNDS of vhs tapes... for FREE. soooo uh yeah. may or may not have come home with like twenty new tapes. oh yeah did i metion that i only paid like a total of six dollars so far?? i made out like a Bandit. final yard sale and the woman was like 'uhhhh $1.25.'. so for a $1.25 i got a peanuts drinking glass (i think from mcdonalds..), the entirety of firefly on dvd, and a ceramic angel. normally i do not go for religious imagery in my decor, but. it was like 102F.. i hadnt slept since my two hour night.. i was severely dehydrated.. heat exhaustion was setting in a little bit.. and i dunno, she just called to me. she reminded me of laura palmer.
okay, so i get home and unload all my of goodies, then i start cleaning my room. i have to disassemble my old bed frame and clean under my bed and shit. i already have a pounding headache at this point but i have schedule to keep. beds gotta be moved b4 tmrrw. so i am FIGHTING trying to get the frame apart, i'm all sweaty and gross and i finally get it!! :D i feel some stuff falling over behind me and b4 i can even look up i get whacked right upside my head loony tunes style with a huge metal beam :( i start feeling kinda funny and i vaguely remember talking to my brother who told me to lie down. i pass out cold and hard on the couch for about an hour. vague memories of seeing something in the room with me. not really important i just think you should know.
wake up to my brothers shaking me to make sure i havent DIED. i lived! yayyy!! ate dinner, and then it was time. i have been looking at this online auction for over a week now and it was ending in a matter of minutes. i did when some some stuff! i got the directors cut of JTHM, revenge of the filler rabbit, and some other comic which i cannot remember rn.. but anyways it was 5 bucks! and then i bought a snoopy wallet for a few dollars. although i did miss out on a clear phone.. so sad. but overall i had a very good shopping day today idk why. everything just like fell into my lap at affordable prices... like wow..
after the auction i still had not moved my new bend in (ya know.. bonk on da head) so i fight forever to get it put together. but yippeee!!! its al here! and i was given a new blanket to put on it which is very soft :3
anyways now im here after showing and watching x files for a bit.
if you read all of that.... wow. ily <3. i normally dont like to just like info dump about my irl daily stuff, but today was just so like action packed it was kinda bonkers. anyways i have to go to bed bc i have more stuff going on tmrrw.... and i honestly might just cancel them.. i am TIRED.

Young Mika stuff YAYYY
Jk she had a bad mom but I’m starting off w some Jason dad time so
Also couldn’t think of a gif divider soo oops
Tumblr media
Every night when it was time for me to go to bed my dad would help me clean my room up, and then I would pick pajamas and brush my teeth.
They would tuck me in, sometimes if they had the energy they would read me something, I always picked Where the sidewalk Ends or a Grimms Fairytale. They did all the voices, And read until I couldn’t stay awake. Then they would turn on my nightlight and kiss me goodnight, it was a routine! But as I got sick, they started coming home later. I learned that they were picking up extra shifts at their job, working into the early hours of the morning, so that routine slowly died.
They would talk to my mom, telling her that it would help me if she would help keep that routine. She just said it wasn’t her job to pick up their slack around the house. She would tell me to clean up and go to bed, no nightlight or forehead kisses, I didn’t even care or want help I just wanted to be tucked in like old times.
As the medicine made me smaller I would get colder at night, I spent nights curled up and shivering. Crying for her to come hold me to warm me up. She would scream at me to keep it down, a few times smacked the side of my mouth. I learned to stay quieter after that.
One of her “friends” saw this, instead of hitting me or yelling at me, he brought me a blanket from the couch and talked to my mom about what he saw.
She said it was my dads fault, there was a lot of screaming that night. My dad getting yelled at for neglecting me while my mother did everything.
I think my dad believed what that guy said, that they were a bad dad. But I knew the truth. My dad would spend any time they had with me. taking me to appointments, playing games, instead of sleeping for their next shift. At the time I was aware of the affect it had on my dad. I saw the bags under their eyes, them not eating or sitting down. Making sure I was comfortable.
But eventually my dad had to sleep for more than an hour, my mom used that as leverage to make them feel bad about not spending any time with me, when she was out with her “friends” instead of helping me.
The night of the accident I was about 8, my dad found out about my moms “friends” and was upset she would betray them like that. The argument escalated, I didn’t want to watch my dad get shouted at for nothing so I ran out of my room to help but as I did…
My mom used a hiking stick and hit my dad over the head, they were bleeding, they weren’t responding, I thought they were dead.
My mom left thinking she had killed my dad.
A neighbor came over and watched my dad, she set me up on a pallet in the living room so I could also keep an eye on them. She said my dad was still alive, but we needed to monitor them so if they did need help we could get it for them.
Ever since that day my dad got a new job, they took care of me until I was better, held my hand during every needle or evaluation, made sure I was warm and fed, made sure I was happy.
That old routine never came back though.

All characters are aged up and have graduated UA highschool some of my calculations might be off when I do write my OC info book. Please don’t mind it 🥲 I hope you enjoy.
—-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's been four years since my boyfriend Eijiro Kirishima asked me to move in with him after we graduated UA. I still couldn't believe that I get to spend the rest of my life with him as I'm in my own thoughts laying on the couch waiting for Eiji to come home.
Eijiro has been training so hard to become one of the top heroes so he's always so busy but so am I since I'm a hero too. It is currently nine o’ clock pm. I took a few days off from hero duties because Eijiro believed I needed rest when he noticed I wasn't sleeping much at night and almost falling asleep during conversations but all I wanted to do was get back out onto the field and stop villains, but he gave me a stern look when I said I was fine and laughed about taking a few days off so I knew he was being serious.
I haven't really been away from him for more than a day or two so I knew I wasn't going to survive not seeing him for so long. He had a busy schedule so he would try not to call when he wanted to let me know he was safe at four in the morning when he got to the hotel from a mission he just finished, but I would already be up because I couldn't sleep without him there… so much for taking some days off.
We would text and call here and there but today he hasn’t texted much but he did say he was on a very hard mission and not to worry too much about him which was hard as it is.
I missed Eijiro so much, I missed fighting alongside him and making jokes about having kids one day but the biggest thing I missed most about him are his warm tight hugs. I've been laying on this couch for what felt like hours.
I put on twilight hoping it would distract me from not crying and feeling lonely but of course that failed. I was on the verge of tears until I heard a ding go off from my phone I quickly picked up my phone to see a text from “My Sharkboy” the text said,
My sharkboy– Hey pebble, i'm sorry i haven't texted you in a while i know you must have been worried about me but dont worry anymore i'm safe and im coming home very soon if your asleep which i hope you are i love you sleep well <3
Me- ahhh eiji i missed you so so much, you're coming home yayyy! when will you be here i miss your cuddles
My Sharkboy- Asami your supposed to be resting, but i missed you more my love i'll be home in fifteen minutes so better be ready for so much hugs and kisses im driving right now and it's starting to pour so i'll see you soon pebble i love you
Me- Okayy eiji please drive carefully in the rain i can't wait to see you i love you more <3
I jumped off the couch smiling so much I was so excited to see him I knew he would be sore and tired so since it was raining I decided I'd draw him a warm bath.
I used some coconut scented soap to make scented bubbles in the warm water and I put some rose petals from some flowers that were almost dying near the door leading up to our bathtub into our room. Then I lit a few candles by the bathtub.
I wanted to try to do something special since he's always working so hard and never really gets a break and always making sure I relax before himself. He deserves this as I was lighting the last candle on the edge of the tub when I heard a knock from the front door. It startled me and I almost fell into the tub but thank goodness I catched myself before a disaster happened.
I ran to the door checking the peep hole and lou and behold I could faintly see a tall red haired figure standing there. I did almost doubt myself since he said he would be here in fifteen minutes and that didn't really seem like fifteen minutes. I cautiously opened the door and there he was my face lit up as I looked into his ruby red eyes and saw how happy he looked to see me.
Looking back at me he looked like such a cute wet dog, I let him walk in only a little bit and I had gotten a better look at him in the bright light. His used to be tall gel liked red hair was all down in his face his sharp toothy smile showing he was soaked from head to toe but I didn't care I missed him a lot so I jumped up on him hugging him tight like I was a koala.
He chuckled at my actions “well someone really did miss me a lot” he said smiling with one hand on my back and the other scratching his neck nervously. I looked at him, grinning from ear to ear “Of course I did Eiji, I have a surprise for you”. He looked at me and then looked down, seeing all the petals and some dead ones on the floor. “Oh yea?” He smiled, putting me down.
Once I touched the floor I pushed him a little to follow the trail I made. We made our way to the bathtub, it was dark but the lit up candles made it a nice dim light.
We were in the doorway to our bathroom. I was so nervous it was so quiet and I couldn't see Eijiro's face since he was in front of me and he hadn't said a word. Did he like it? Did he hate it? Was it too cheesy for him? He turned around and bent down, giving me a tight hug.
He had his head in my neck so I could feel his cheeks were a bit wet so I moved his face to get a better look at him. He had some tears streaming down his face, "Eiji why are you crying.." I asked with a worried tone he looked at me and gave my forehead a wet kiss "because my pebble is so sweet to me" we both smiled and embraced each other for a little longer before I realized kirishima was still wet I told him to undress and get in the tub he did as told and got in.
We havent seen eachother in a while so when he was fully exposed getting in the tub it made my heart skip a beat I was always nervous about stuff like that even if we've been together for so long but Eijiro on the other hand didn't seem to mind he would always laugh every time I tried to turn around to not look at him my face would be as he called it “red as a tomato”.
He got in he looked so relaxed and at ease I always loved his hair down it's so cute, I picked up his soggy hero suit and put it in the wash when I came back to the bathroom Eijiro looked like he'd had fallen asleep in the tub I giggled a little and one of his eyes opened looking at me then his red eyes looked me up and down. “Aren't you gonna come join me pebble?” I leaned on the side of the wall looking at him and crossed my arms. “This is for you Eiji not me, I'll still keep you company if you would like?” He looked at me and then turned his head back to his resting position.
He closed his eyes and patted the side of the tub motioning for me to sit next to him. I made my way over to him rubbing the top of his head, "can you have your back toward me eiji i want to wash you up" he looked at me in awe and smiled "okay love" he turned and I grabbed the wash cloth wetting it and adding soap to it making it soapy I scrubbed him knowing he might fall asleep in my lap with how much he relaxed into my touch.
I loved every second of it. It was such a passionate sensual moment I think we both needed this. Once I was done washing him all up and I let him rest a little while longer I knew the bath was starting to get cold so I grabbed a dark red towel that I had warmed up in the dryer beforehand. “Eiji.. wake up eiji” his eyes slowly opened. He shivered a little and looked at me with so much love behind his eyes. “Time to get out eiji the water is getting cold”
He stood up without warning me, I was close to him and just looked up at him. I didn't have enough time to react so I stood up very quickly as well nervously looking at him. He laughed, I handed him the towel looking away. "You're so cute when you act like this is your first time seeing me pebble" he wrapped the towel around his waist stepping out of the tub. I nervously laughed leaning down to drain the tub when I felt a presence behind me. "Eiji what are you doin-" My sentence was cut off when two big pairs of hands turned my body around and lifted me up, my legs were wrapped around his waist, the towel hanging on by a thread and my eyes met with his ruby red ones. My face was probably so red as he carried me to our shared bedroom.
He gently put me down on our bed and walked over to our closet, I crossed my legs watching him. He dropped the towel and I turned around with my face in my hands. I heard shuffling behind me and then footsteps coming toward me, “you can turn around now pebble”. I turned to meet kirishima face to face. He grabbed my face softly and kissed me on the lips. I smiled through the kiss because of the cute gesture. We were like that for what felt like a long time but I didn't mind after we were done sharing the little cute moment he asked me “do you want to watch a movie pebble before bed?” I looked at him grinning he knows I love watching movies with him so he said okay and chuckled I ran to the living room and kitchen to turn off the tv and lights I had left on distracted by Eijiro coming home, then I ran back to the room I walked in on Eijiro fixing the bed the tv was on and the lights were off but the red L.E.D lights shining through the back of the tv made a dimly lit up room.
I smiled so happily to be able to have him safe and home. He got in the bed and saw me standing there. I saw his toothy smile and then saw his hand. He patted the bed and moved the fluffy blankets and huge stuffed bear he got me when he had to leave one time it smelled just like him and was in a shark onesie pajama. I loved that bear so much. It was the best gift he's ever gotten me. I got in bed and scooted next to his side. He was so warm and smelled like vanilla and coconuts. He wrapped his arm around me bringing me closer if that was even possible.
He picked a sad romance movie. This was my favorite movie. I had it on replay all the time. It was called the fault in our stars. He knew I loved it but he also knew when it's really late at night that I would always fall asleep so fast when i'm in his arms and this movie was playing. I lifted my body up to give him a goodnight kiss and we exchanged “sweet dreams eiji”, “sweet dreams my pretty girl, thank you for the bath it helped and meant so much to me” he said, kissing my cheek I smiled and cuddled into him some more.
“I love you Eijiro”.
“I love you more Asami”.
and as he already knew I had drifted off to sleep not even ten minutes into the movie.
The End~

THE old concrete industrial factory shelters the noisy men from the blistering August heat. It was currently 4 in the afternoon on a Friday and the sun was still shining. Most people were ready to go home to their loved ones from work but Eren still had 3 more hours to go. Usually, he was able to grit his teeth and continue the day, but today though, he just wanted to be home already. After arc cutting a piece of Ferrite, arms with veins swelling, Eren steps back and flips up his helmet waving a gloved hand at the dust that came from the material. The perspiration on his face was beginning to drip down his body, he took his arm and wiped the sweat that sat on his eyebrows.
He blew some air out of his mouth and scanned his eyes around the assembly. Some of the men were chatting amongst themselves whilst having a water break with paper cups in hand, meanwhile, others were busying themselves with the work in front of them making sure they got every cent that they could earn. Cents. That's what Eren was working for, specifically $0.75 an hour. He rolls his shoulders already feeling tense, wanting to just take a shower and lay down to do it all over again tomorrow. He glances to the outside of the garage like opening of the factory. The cars whizzed by in the bustling city. Eren thinks he’ll never get used to the sound, being fond of the silent and freeing countryside. He pulls out his hand from the heavy-duty welding gloves and wipes his wet hand on the beat-up and previously dirtied wife beater. He shuffles his tan overalls that are stung lowly on his hips and flips his helmet back on his face to continue working.
It was around 7:30 in the evening when he got off. The sun finally letting the earth cool down from the assault today. Duffle bag in hand, Eren steps away from the establishment and begins to walk to the bus stop ready to sit on the trolley for 40 minutes out of town. His hair was tied in a bun with some flyaways surrounding his scalp and a few tired line indents on his forehead. The overalls that were once on his waist now hug him to keep warm for the night breeze.
“Hey Yeager!” a voice calls out. Eren turns around and sees Jean, Connie, and Armin. The three men were huddled as if they were whispering before calling out to him. Eren raised an eyebrow as if to ask them what they wanted. Eren didn’t speak to anyone at work. The only conversations that he would have with his colleagues would be “when’s lunch being called” or “did they have a specific tool he needed.” So watching these three yell out to him was unusual.
Jean and Connie push Armins' shoulder to talk. The blonde-headed man clears his throat, “UHm..did you..um did you wanna come down to The Catfish Club with us?” pointing behind his shoulder somewhere.
The Catfish Club? Eren never heard such a thing before. Is that a restaurant? He looks between them with a deadpan expression.
“No,” Eren states and begins to walk the way to the bus stop.
“OH COME ON, It was hot today ain’t ya wanting a nice tail’ and some jazz!” Connie yells at him. Eren pauses. A bar? Why would he want to go to a bar with these idiots to listen to some jazz with these bozos? Eren faces them.
Connie continues, “It's great! The liquor is strong and the music is live! I got a buddy of mine who will shuttle us all home when we wanna leave!” excitement comes from his words. Eren thinks for a moment rubbing his jaw. He could use a Manhattan, he hasn't had one of them in a long time. He should treat himself, just going home and spending it with his cat Carla wouldn't be that amusing on this nice Friday night.
Eren sighs and shrugs. “Sure.” The boys have grins on their faces and Connie wraps an arm around Erens shoulder as he walks up to them.
The walk to the club wasn't that far from their work. About 15 mins or so. The place looked packed and bustling. Men and women flow through the black double wooden doors. The building was a bright pale red with a sign in the dark window shining THE CATFISH CLUB in illuminating blue lights with a catfish wearing a top hat playing the cello. The boys walk up to the door and open it. The place was bigger on the inside than you would think. The sounds of horns, clarinet, sax, and strings bounced through Erens ears. There was everyone EVERYWHERE. The bar, the dance floor, the booths, and tables. It was a squeeze. The walls were a velvety green color with black and white pictures hanging. A stage was in the middle back of the club, slightly raised – having the ability to easily step on it. Jean and Connie barrel through the crowd with Armin and Eren on their behinds. They sit at a booth fairly close to the stage.
“Isn’t this amazing? God, I haven't been here in a while,” Jean says while they are settling in the rubber seats. Connie and Armin make conversation as Eren still wanders his eyes around. He brings his attention to the stage as a band starts setting up. His eyes are directly on the woman with the white sparkly ball gown that goes just a bit below her knee caps. The straps came together behind her neck showcasing a bit of cleavage. She had on white pumps with a diamond on the point. Satin white gloves came just above her elbows. Eren couldn’t see her face as people were passing by. As he's moving his head to find her, Armin nudges him to look at him.
“What did you want to drink Eren?” he asks. Eren just now notices a waiter by their table. He looks back at the woman and turns to the waiter. He nods while saying. “Just a Manhattan please.” The waiter gets the rest of the guys' drink orders and Eren's eyes fall back to the captivating singer.
Her hair is short and curled like it's been in rollers, slightly parted with a white flower hair clip. Her earrings twinkle under the lights and her smile is brighter than anything he’d ever seen. She was talking to the host of the club pointing at the band behind her and nodding when he spoke back to her. He pats her on the back lightly and goes up to the mic.
The waiter sets Jean, Connie, Armin, and Erens' drinks down as the host says, “How's everybody doing tonight!?” The crowd whoops and hollers, Connie and Jean joining in with them. Eren takes a sip of his beverage enjoying the burn that it leaves behind, never taking his eyes off of her.
The host laughs and claps his hands together, “I see! Hey now – we got a new upcoming singer here with us tonight, it is her First. Ever. Gig! Let’s all welcome…Y/N!” He throws his arms to her as she smiles and waves shyly at the audience that gives her some claps and whistles. Eren sets down his drink and claps along.
She steps up to the mic fixing it to her height while looking back at the band anxiously. One of the members gives her a thumbs up and a wink. She turns back and breathes.
(Play song)
It felt like the whole town stopped to hear her. Eren couldn’t help but feel entranced. Her voice was heavenly, delicate, alluring…he couldn't find the words but what he knew was that he was in love. He felt his jaw slack a bit as he watched her sing. The way her lips moved and the way she held the mic stand. Y/N had no idea the effects she had on him. His chest was beating as if he ran 3 miles and his legs were stuck as if he had seen the boogie man. Her eyes are low and move across the sea of people, meeting emerald green ones. She swings her hips back and forth to the beat, smiling as she emphasizes the lyrics escape her.
Eren held her stare, sipping more of his drink, tapping his foot to the song. The lines she belt out felt as if she was speaking to him. That the words were only for him. She took the mic off the stand and began to waltz around the stage, stopping and doing gestures or poses. She stepped down from the stage and danced a little, going around the club. She smiled and smirked at the patrons. Y/N wanted to find the person who was behind the piercing eyes she was stunned internally by. She looks over at a table full of welders and strides toward them, elegantly placing her hand on a dark-haired man's shoulder. Y/N feels warm when he looks up at her from his seat. This was the man who she was searching for. His lips lift in a smile, almost like he's trying to hide it. Y/N slides her hand from his shoulder down to his hand and stretches it to her, holding it for a second staring at him in his eyes. She squeezes his hand and lets go of it. She walks back up the stage not forgetting to look behind her shoulder to see him looking at his hand and back at her. Y/N stops on the stage and closes out the song.
The club was in an uproar as she quietly curtsied. Eren stands up and whistles, Jean, Connie, and Armin following him. She exits the stage after pressing her hands to her chest and thanking everyone. She tries to get through the crowd as they continue to praise her for her singing, passing Eren just in time for him to grab her wrist to stop her.
She staggers at the interruption and turns her head to see who halt her. Y/N's face heats up as Eren looks at her. She looks down at his hand holding onto her and he looks at it after her, blushing he quickly let go of her, “Sorry, I just wanted to say you were incredible up there,” Eren says.
Y/Ns eyebrows lift in a delightful surprise, “Oh! Uh, thank you…..?”
Eren reaches out his hand. “Eren.” Y/N takes it and shakes it. “Thank you, Eren. It's nice to meet you.”
Eren smirks, “Nice to meet you too Y/N.”
