#Is Rick planning on bringing Jason back??
oifaaa · 1 year
Note
Honestly, if Rick Riordan brings Jason back the dead, it's gonna be even harder to know if it's a boring character or Red Hood at first glance
What Jason dies?!?!?

Yandere Jason Todd x speedster male reader x Yandere Dick Grayson
Part 2
Headcanons
Tumblr media
Imagine sitting in a spinny chair petting a cat like a bond villain. I have wanted to write a part two for this for a while. Instead of reader just dating his og universes version of them, what if reader was dating multiple people 👀? Cuz you cant imagine the kid of Thawne being a nice person.
Ill refer to readers original universe as OG verse, and the yandere universe as yan verse cuz its easier to understand.
Part 1 can be found here
In part 1 yan Dick and Jason has pretty much abandoned their former dimension in smithereens after having wiped out the entire justice league, as they tried to stop them from crossing dimensions and tearing a hole in reality itself to find you.
So, when Yan Dick and Jason appear in your OG dimension, different procedures set up by the league notify them about the tear in reality and how unstable it is. They’d rush there and find two bloody and battered versions of Dick and Jason, and thinking they fled some battle or a doomed timeline, they bring them to the tower.
When Jason and Dick wake up, they immediately fall back on the many tricks they had been taught under their batman, who was apparently even better at lying than OG batman, as they believe them when they claim their home dimension was destroyed and they have nowhere to go.
It takes a while to work Yan Dick and Jason into the league and their hero roster, but they never suspect them of being anything less than heroes and stable. They start calling them Rick and Jay since it gets confusing with multiple people named the same thing.
They don’t drop hints that they know you, but they do try to figure out where you are and what you are doing at all times, but its harder than they thought it would be. Who would have thought trying to track a guy that can cross dimensions and time at will would be so difficult.
Rick almost bursts a blood vessel when he hears some of the younger OG league members talking about how “Mach 10 has been dating multiple people at once”, and Jay wants to curl up into a ball and disappear and tear himself apart.
Their obsession finally starts showing through the cracks as they use league resources to find you and stalk you. More and more cracks appear in their masks and fake personalities, as they see you going on dates with other people.
Jericho, Jamie Reyes, Roy Harper, Garth, Kyle Rayner, the list went on. You seemed to be dating multiple people at once, at the same time, as you used your powers to be in multiple places at once.
You weren’t a good person, so you hadn’t even felt bad when Jamie had cried finding out you were cheating on him with multiple people, you just shrugged and asked him what he had expected from Thawnes offspring.
It was common knowledge amongst the younger league members that you were down to a roll in the sheets with most, but there wasn’t a loyal bone in your body, and you could easily turn on whoever you were dating at the time if it was part of a plan.
Of course. Rick and Jay never saw you as the problem. How could you be? You were perfect, you were everything that mattered in the multiverse, and you could do no wrong. It had to be your partners that were the issue, they had to be neglecting your needs and leaving you having to resort to finding different ways to meet them.
OG justice league knew Rick and Jay had some issues, but they had always blamed it on coming from a dimension that had been destroyed by some unknown evil. But as time passed, they started to think that maybe the backstory they had been given wasn’t true.
It came to a head when one day Rick always gutted Roy after he and Jay had followed you around Coast city, where you had met up with Roy and the two of you had gone on a date, ending with you two back in Roy’s apartment.
Rick and Jay were both cracking as they saw others put their grubby disgusting hands all over you and just doing whatever they wanted. Whenever they heard others insult you, they felt like repeating what they had done in their original universe.
After Rick attacked Roy, he was placed on probation. Jay was more subtle about his plans, as he wasn’t as blinded by rage as Rick and was more fueled by not feeling like he was good enough and blaming himself.
People didn’t even put two and two together for a while when your non league admirers started going missing, only to be found much later dead in many different ways. There was no way to tie the murders together, but it was clear there was a pattern, but no one could figure out what it was.
The league finally discovered just what type of people Jay and Rick were when you one day wandered into the tower. Maybe the league needed your help with something involving the speedforce, or the negative speedforce.
But the moment the two yanderes saw you, it was like they became completely different people, the masks they had been wearing for months shattered as they almost stumbled over each other to get to you first.
You just saw in your seat grinning to yourself as they clambered into your lap, vile threats of what he could do to anyone who touched to passing Ricks lips, as Jay warbled out apologies and begs for you to love him and appreciate him.
The league wasn’t sure what to do, but their suspicions only grew. It got to the point where they somehow track down the dimension the Yans originally come from, to see what really happened. Imagine their horror when they learn Rick and Jay killed all of them out of obsession fueled love for you.
But when they finally figured out the truth, Rick and Jay fully dropped their roles and started chasing you around like lovesick puppies again, butchering anyone who got in their way.
The league could lock them up, but they had also seen what happened when they were separated from you, and as long as they were around you and an had no reason to lash out, they seemed fine for the most part.
You had moments where you would peace out to different dimensions, especially when Rick and Jay started foiling all your attempts to mess around with other people, Rick always exploding in rage and Jay breaking down in tears and wails of misery.
Again, you were never a good person, and they annoyed you sometimes, but it was kinda cut to have them begging for scraps of your attention even as the league tried again and again to capture them and lock them away.
Rick and Jay never find a way to lock you away, you are just too powerful. But they at some point stumble across ways to make themselves stronger so they can keep up. Like making themselves speedsters, or developing gear to follow and track you, they come up with something.
But you learn an easy way to distract them is by piling attention on them for a while, get them comfortable, then you can peace out when they get on your nerves.
Jay is always easier to trick than Rick, as Jay is always aching for any tiny piece of attention and love youll give him, his knees always buckling when you kiss him or hold him, words almost akin to worship always tumbling out from between his lips towards you.
Rick is harder to trick, as hes always suspicious and angry, but an easy way is to dominate him in some way, like tying him up and then leaving him there, leaving him to get out on his own, or get help from Jay if he needs it.
All in all, the league is scared and cautious, but knows they wont be an active threat to the league as long as they have you. And your relationship with your yanderes is nowhere near healthy, with you only loving them like someone would love a pet or a toy, and them loving you way too much.
But what can someone expect from the offspring of Thawne, and two extremely unstable Bats.

Part 2 of changes I would have made to Heros of Olympus.
Obligatory disclaimer: I do not think I am better than Rick Riordan and what he has created is amazing but that doesn't mean we should not criticise it and it's important to be able to step back and see the issues or missed potential of a piece of writing
There would be at least 1 year gap b/w the PJO and HOO and both Percy and Annabeth would be 17, making them significantly older than most of the cast who all (with the exception of Jason for reasons I will get into) would be 13-15. This means Percy and Annabeth would be mentoring them.
Also as a benefit of the gap I would love to see Nico and Percy's relationship be slightly better though that's just because I love them
Grover would take the place of Coach Hedge and help Percy and Annabeth with mentoring the others. Also he and Nico would talk about Bianca as he was in the quest with her and her friend. Grover would help Nico with accepting that Bianca's death was mainly the fault of Talos.
Jason would still be 16 along with Reyna and Octavian. The three would have been friends pre-HOO (I have a whole trilogy planned for them that I will Inshallah write in the summer) and Octavian would start dating Jason shortly before TLH. He would also assume that Reyna would have assassinated Jason for political reasons (credit to @percabeth4life for this entire arc idea)
Jiper would become canon shortly before Mark Of Athena in the months after The Lost Hero. Octavian would be extremely upset about this and this would probably cause issues.
Percy would be called Perseus among the Romans
Percy would help Octavian search for Jason and get all the water life and Pegasi to look for Jason which would bring the 2 close and create a point of tension between Percy and Jason as Percy would be upset on Octavian's behalf that Jason went and dated Piper without even breaking up with Octavian (BC he didn't remember their relationship at first)
Percy also wouldn't sleep for months and instead wake up at the owl house (it was supposed to be wolf house but it's funny so I'm'n keeping it) at the same time as Jason showed up on the bus and he would be Praetor for several months slowly regaining his memory
Instead of just remembering Annabeth, he would also remember Grover because of the empathy link
Nico and Hazel's relationship would receive more focus. In the Cupid Scene, Hazel is there instead of Jason and Cupid instead of out right outting would instead subtly hint at him to do so. He'd talk about queer ppl in the myths and how being gay is okay and how you should accept yourself and not hide it and make Nico promise to try before giving them the staff. Hazel would ask and Nico would admit his crush on Percy. While surprised (40s kid) she would accept him unconditionally because that's her brother
Frank would be 14 and they wouldn't get together until a few years after the books
Hazel and Frank would have more focus and would have interest they still took part in like Hazel still drawing (maybe doodling in the corners of pages during meetings)
Percy and Annabeth wouldn't be as interested in moving to CJ. Like yeah Annabeth would immediately use it as a reference for New Athens but Percy hates strict rules and CHB is both Percy and Annabeth's home. It's also close to where a majority of their support system (Sally, Paul, Chiron, Annabeth's siblings, Clarisse bc you pry her friendship with them out of my cold dead hands, e.t.c). Also Annabeth is v ambitious and seems like someone who would eventually want to go to a very prestigious university. Emphasis on eventually as I think both she and Percy would take a break from school to recover from their trauma and get in a better headspace for dealing with all that
Tartarus would be far worse but while Annabeth would freak out at the Akhlys thing, she certainly would understand why Percy did it and wouldn't make him promise not to use those powers again
Piper and Annabeth would not get along at first. Annabeth enjoys girlie things and was friends with Silena so Piper insulting the Aphrodite cabin and looking down on girls for being feminine would not fly with her. While I do think this would change as Piper accepts her femininity (see previous post ABT changes I would make to HOO) I think Annabeth would be closer to Hazel and be like an older sister to her
Also Hazel would have dark hair and dark eyes like a normal black girl. No exotic bs. Same with Piper.
Frank would have dyslexia too because I am living proof that Asians can have learning disabilities too.
These are all for now. Will probably add more

Eddie's March 1986 Timeline
I've spent too long thinking about how hungry Eddie must have been, and how he probably just wanted a hot shower and warm bed. Now you have to think about it too.
Feel free to reblog with thoughts, feelings, additions, corrections, or anything else. xo Rhi

Food: beer and what appears to be a few bags of snack food; Max finds the trash for these in the boathouse
Dustin, Max, Steve, and Robin search for Eddie, after Max's statement that he probably witnessed Chrissy's death
They find him in Rick's boathouse hiding under a tarp, using a broken bottle as a weapon
The public is not yet aware of Eddie's connection
SUNDAY 23 (The Monster and the Superhero)
Days without a proper meal or shower: 2
Food: three bags of snacks including Yoohoo and Honeycomb cereal
Eddie is still wielding the broken bottle and sleeping in the boathouse when the same group brings Eddie supplies and news

Eddie calls the gang asking for a food drop and a six-pack' it appears to be the first time he goes into Rick's house; Rick's neighbours notice the movement inside
Jason and co. find Eddie, he escapes as Patrick is murdered by Vecna over Lover's Lake
He spends the night wet and wandering the forest, eventually landing at Skull Rock
(The Dive) Jason gives a statement to law enforcement that Eddie is a vessel for Satan and is killing people with demonic powers
WEDNESDAY 26 (The Dive, The Massacre at Hawkins Lab, Papa)
Days without a proper meal or shower: 5
Food: the supplies the gang brings him at Skull Rock
Law enforcement gives a press statement that names Eddie as a person of interest and give notice of a town meeting that day for the public to attend
Eddie steals a construction site radio and is reunited with the party at Skull Rock
At the town meeting, people ask why Eddie has only been officially named now and why he hasn't been arrested already; Jason makes his case to the town about the murders being "ritualistic sacrifices," and calls Hellfire a cult, handing out the club's yearbook photo; the parents of the gang are visibly shaken while the rest of the town stand up and begin a witch hunt
Meanwhile, Dustin hypothesises there is a gate nearby; they begin to search for it, eventually locating it in Lover's Lake
Steve dives for it but is pulled back under the water and through watergate into the Upside Down
(The Massacre at Hawkins Lab) Nancy, Robin, and a reluctant Eddie go through watergate after him
While the fruity four are in the Upside Down, the kids are with their parents and law enforcement; the two groups eventually find a way to communicate
On their respective sides of the world, the two groups travel to the Munson trailer
Sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday's early hours, Robin and Eddie go through the trailer's gate
(Papa) On her way through the gate, Vecna catches Nancy and shows her his vision of the future - it's a message; Vecna lets Nancy go, and she and Steve go through the gate
THURSDAY 27 (Papa, The Piggyback)
Days without a proper meal or shower: 6
Food: none that we see
The party is reunited and relocate to Max's trailer; they listen to Nancy's experience, then form a plan
After Eddie hotwires an RV and a trip to The War Zone, the party stops in a scenic field to create weapons and prepare
(The Piggyback) That night, their plan is launched
After, they believe they have won against Vecna, at least for now, with his 'physical' body in the Upside Down being attacked as well as his supernatural abilities/his mind; it is ambiguous if the gates have closed for good
In the fight, Hawkins is ripped apart along four lines (likely not actual geographical fault lines) that meet in the town centre, resulting in a blast felt by everyone
Max barely survives the fight; she has been blinded and her limbs broken, but El manages to save her; she is left in a coma
Eddie deviates from the plan and appears to die in Dustin's arms
"2 DAYS LATER" / SATURDAY 29
The news reports, "It's been less than 48 hours since a 7.4 magnitude earthquake rocked the quaint town of Hawkins" and says seismologists are calling it "A natural disaster of near-unprecedented scale"
It's still reported that Hellfire is a cult led by Eddie, who remains the prime suspect in the murders but is presumed dead; a local church has a banner with the bible verse Jason quoted out front - the town of Hawkins will always hate Eddie
Dustin meets Wayne, who routinely replaces Eddie's 'missing' posters due to hate graffiti; Dustin gives him his nephew's iconic necklace and calls Eddie a hero; we, like Wayne, are to assume Eddie is dead
Eddie's body is never discussed or seen again; he was likely left in the Upside Down
Will tells Mike that Vecna is hurting but definitely alive; Will has been connected to One/Vecna since season one, and his connection is stronger now he has returned to Hawkins
Upside Down 'particles' begin to fall from the sky as dark clouds roll in, the 'earthquake' fissures are still smoking and glow red, the clouds are nearly black, and the grass and flowers wilt and rot
Vecna's red lightning appears in the sky promising he will return, but... will Eddie?

SHE SELLS SANCTUARY! E.M
wc 1.6k navi
heads up! soft smut, mild violence, s4 spoilers, insecure eddie, not proofread, 16+ pls<3
pairing softdom metalhead! yn x sub! eddie
synopsis after finding eddie in reefer ricks boat shack, you take him back home to help him destress
Tumblr media
A couple of years ago, you used to babysit Dustin Henderson when his parents had to go out of town for work. even though you don't talk much anymore, he still will occasionally come to you when the world needs saving or he wants a second opinion on his hair.
That's probably why he ended up on your doorstep with Robin, Steve, and Max, asking you if you knew where your boyfriend was.
After knowing each other for two years, you and Eddie started dating during the first semester of senior year. As one of the few metalheads in school, you both naturally gravitated to each other. Even though you didn't play DnD, you'd help him plan his campaigns in his trailer; your notes splattered on the table as you both took turns taking hits. He asked you out on one of those days, and you guys have been going steady since.
You were just about to go out looking for him yourself after hearing about what Jason and his posse would do to him when they found him. Those guys were all crazy. Like honestly, playing a game makes you a cult leader? As if. After sorting all the details out with them, you guys set out to check Reefer Ricks's house. You went in your car cause you knew if you did find him, you'd want to stay with him. Once you got there, Steve and Dustin were bickering about something per usual. You were poking around looking for any signs of him, it looked like someone had been here, but it was hard to tell if they had gone or not. You guys checked the boathouse next to the house a little bit after. Everyone continued talking, and you were zoning in n out.
"Personally, I don't find it funny in the slight- Whoa! Wait! Wait! Wait! Wait! Wait!" You whipped your head around, seeing Eddie pressing a broken bottle onto Steves's neck. His eyes were wide, body tense, and his hands were hands shaking. you could feel the fear radiating off of him from feet away.
You put your hands up and took a few steps closer to him" Whoa, whoa, whoa, Eddie! Eddie! Stop! Eddie! Eddie! It's me. It's y/n, and this is Steve. He's not gonna to hurt you, right, Steve? "
"Right. Yeah." He added quickly, nodding his head to solidify his statement.
"Steve, why don't you drop the oar?" You suggested, and as if on cue, the oar dropped onto the floor, echoing around the tense silence.
"What are you doing here?" Eddie asked, stepping away as the bottle was discarded to who knows where
"We're looking for you."
"We're here to help. Eddie, these are my friends. You know Robin, from band." Dustin said, bringing his hands up to his face and imitating the instrument she plays, "This is my friend Max. The one who never wants to play D & D. Eddie, we're on your side. I swear on my mother."
"We just want to talk. Okay? We want to know what happened" you crouched down, getting next to him on the floor.
He sniffed, "You won't believe me."
"Try us."
After he explained everything to you all, and you guys reassured him that he was, in fact, not crazy, you came up with a plan. You were going to stay here with him, and the rest of them would go and look for more information. Once you saw them back out and leave through the window, you walked back to Eddie, who remained crouched on the floor, staring blankly off into space.
"Hey, you alright?" You asked, already knowing the answer. He shook his head, then moved closer to you, laying his head on your lap. You brushed through his hair; it was tangled and needed washing; his face also seemed paler then the last time you saw him, chalking it up to how hectic things had been and the high chance that he hadn't had much if anything to eat. After a few moments passed, you scratched his scalp gently. "Do you think you could get up for me? We can go to my place; my parents are out of town" He opened his eyes and nodded, getting off of you n standing up.
you followed suit and walked out to your car, the gravel crunching under your boots. Once you got in, you turned on the radio, and She Sells Sanctuary played softly on the car ride to your house. Eddie was staring out the window, his usual boisterous demeanor nowhere to be seen.
The sparkle in your eyes Keeps me alive And the sparkle in your eyes It keeps me busy, keeps me alive The world And the world turns around
You pulled up to your driveway, got out of your seat, and opened the door to your house. Once you were inside, you went upstairs to your bedroom. Eddie still seemed out of it, so you offered to run him a bath, and he accepted. Once the water was warm, you called him in, making your way out once he started to lift his shirt. He grabbed your wrist, and you turned back, confused.
"can you stay with me, please?" he was looking at the floor, and his voice was soft; how could you say no?
"of course," you turned back around and sat on the floor next to the tub.
"can you come in here instead?" He asked, signaling to the tub he was currently in
"sure," you said through a smile, getting rid of your clothes and stepping into the bubbly tub. You watched him as a comfortable silence fell over you both; you noticed his hair was still a little dirty, so you asked, "do you want me to wash your hair? that way, you can just relax" he looked at you for a couple of seconds, making you think you might've overstepped. Still, he turned around, the back of his head facing you.
You grabbed your shampoo and pushed the lavender-scented mixture out, and slowly massaged it into his scalp; he sighed and visibly relaxed while you started detangling his hair. "You know your hair is really pretty," you said gently, rubbing circles into his scalp. He hummed in acknowledgment. You began washing out the soapy mixture from his hair and wrapped your arms around him, bringing his back closer to your chest.
"thank you, y/n," he said quietly
"for what?"
"Just being there and doing all this stuff for me, I don't even know what I did to deserve you. I'm literally a freak-" he began to ramble but you cut him off
"you aren't a freak, Eddie, and I'm going to be there for you and do this stuff for you whenever I can because you deserve it, and I love you, ok?" You said, turning him around, your eyes making contact w his teary ones. You brought a hand up to his face, wiping off the tears that began to fall onto his cheeks. You got closer until you were only inches apart; your eyes moved away from his cheek, back to his eyes, and then to his lips. You kissed him softly and then proceeded to peck him all over, effectively kissing away his tears. He laughed and kissed you again. Once you broke apart, you began to kiss down his neck, sucking just enough to leave some light marks. He moaned softly, an indicator for you to keep going.
You pulled away, and he moved to your neck, but you stopped him. "not right now, love, this is about you, ok?" He nodded slowly, leaning back, you looked into his eyes for any signs of doubt. After finding none, you continued, getting onto his lap and grinding onto his hardening dick.
You sped up when you heard his breath hitch, and he grabbed your hips. "Not like this; I wanna be inside you when I cum” he mumbled, rubbing circles on your waist.
you peppered him in kisses again, "alright then, ready?" You asked him as you aligned yourself with him. Once he nodded his head, you began to descend, wincing at the pain; after a few moments, it blurred into pleasure, and you began to rise and fall gently, kissing his neck where you knew he liked it and let your hands roam over his chest, feathering over his tattoos. His moans, still soft, began to become louder, and you felt him twitch around you; you felt the familiar knot forming inside you as you increased your pace.
he whimpered, bringing his head into the crook of your neck "m close, so close, can I cum, please?"
"yes, you can, now be a good boy and finish for me, alright?" That was all he needed; his dick spasmed inside you, pushing you towards your climax.
After riding through your highs, you got off him and stood up. leaving and returning with towels, you wrapped yourself up and gave him one. Once he got out, you stopped him and put some leave-in conditioner into his hair.
"You know that'll help keep your curls defined; you should get some," he hummed, staring at you and only half paying attention to what you said. After rummaging through your closet and finding some of his old clothes, you threw them to him and changed into your PJs.
After, you got into your bed and beckoned him over. Once you both were settled, him leaning on your chest and you running your hands up and down his back, you both drifted off to sleep.

Munson's Mixtape
Tumblr media
Mixtape Masterlist
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Cunningham!Reader
Word Count: 2,485
Warnings: Mentions of drugs, brief mentions of creepy male behavior (not Eddie), more references to Mrs. Cunningham being a shitty mom.
Summary: Chrissy has been acting weird, and like a good big sister Y/N drives to Hawkins from Notre Dame to check in on her. Only to find out she has plans to meet up with Eddie Munson. Things take a turn for the worse and now Y/N gets wrapped in to the horrors of Hawkins. Hey, at least she has the company of the guitarist she was sweet on back in high school for comfort.
Author’s Note: I took some creative liberties with the Eddie and Chrissy scene, that's going to happen a decent amount throughout the plot. However this fic is mostly canon compliant (unless the Duffer Brothers do something I don't like in Volume 2). Also I made the reader's physical description vague, I know Chrissy and her family are blonde and white but that doesn't matter for this fic. I'll get into how that makes sense in later chapters! no spoilers. Also reader is about 20 here, same age as Eddie.
Track Two
Y/N kept a distance from Chrissy as she followed her sister into the wooded area behind Hawkins High. As she watched her bob in between the trees, Y/N began to realize where she was headed. There was this old picnic table within the clearing of the woods. It used to be a meet up spot when Reefer Rick was dealing to the student body of Hawkins. She went there once as a sophomore to pick up weed for a Halloween party Marissa Clarence was hosting at her house. Rick always gave her the creeps, constantly asking if she wanted something stronger. Y/N didn't mess around with any of that, and repeatedly told him no. She also didn't like the way he stared at her, like she was an extra in Cheerleaders Gone Wild Vol. 6. After that experience she always made someone else on the team pick up stuff for any future parties. To her knowledge Chrissy didn't smoke, and Rick was supposed to be serving time in county jail for drug possession. So Y/N had no idea who her sister was meeting with, and the thought didn't bring her any comfort.
As she got closer to the clearing Y/N hung back behind the tree line, keeping a close eye on her sister as she stared off into space. Chrissy was nervous, arms wrapped around herself and searching around the trees as if some monster would pop out any second. All of the sudden Chrissy's face changed, she looked terrified, the kind of fear you have when you're walking alone at night and realize someone is following you. Before Y/N could react, she saw Eddie Munson walking towards Chrissy, stumbling as she ran into his chest.
Eddie looked different since she last saw him. His hair was even longer than it was senior year, and it looked like he grew a couple inches, possibly filled out a bit more. From the distance she was from the table, Y/N could only partially hear some of the conversation between Eddie and Chrissy. He looked happy to see her, and Chrissy's nervous expression began to vanish. Y/N's stomach began to swirl at the thought that Eddie and Chrissy were close. Her sister never told her that they were friends, she always talked her ear off about Jason Carver. Were Eddie and Chrissy having some sort of affair?
Once Eddie opened up his black tin box Y/N realized that her previous suspicions were right. It looked like Chrissy was just looking to buy off of Eddie, he must of taken over Rick's position of Hawkins High's dealer of choice. Y/N let out a breath of relief, but quickly realized that she wasn't in the clear yet. She hoped that Eddie wasn't anything like Rick, pushing hard drugs on to teenagers. A little weed is one thing, she'd be a hypocrite to chastise Chrissy for that, but anything else was a cause for concern. Y/N took a few steps closer towards the clearing, staying behind the trees so she could hear their conversation.
Eddie dramatically threw himself off the table and Y/N stopped behind a large maple trunk. Her heart was racing, thinking she had been caught, but he was blissfully unaware that there was someone else in the woods with them. From this distance she could hear her sisters giggles at Eddie's antics. Y/N sunk down to her knees at the base of the tree, face inching around the corner to get a better look.
"Different? Yeah. Well, uh, my hair was buzzed, and I didn't have these sweet old tatties yet." Eddie lowered the collar of his shirt to display the ink on his skin. Y/N didn't know he had any tattoos, he must have gotten them after she graduated. They looked good on him.
"You played guitar right?" Chrissy asked, Y/N remembered Eddie's old band. She tried to go to one of his shows over winter break but her mother wouldn't have it.
"Still do, still do.. We play at the-" Eddie began before Chrissy interrupted his thought.
"The Hideout! Yea! My sister Y/N wanted to go to one of your shows around Christmas but Mom wouldn't let her. Said it was a bar filled with old drunks" Y/N could feel her face grow hot, she told Chrissy that when she stole a bottle of her mother's chardonnay and brought it up to her bedroom. Booze was like a truth serum to her, she would just go on and on spilling all of her inner thoughts she would be too embarrassed to say normally.
"I mean she's not wrong... it's not exactly The Garden but you gotta start somewhere, right? so... wait.. did you say your sister?" Eddie asked hair whipping around to face Chrissy.
"Yea Y/N Cunningham? She was in your year, well your first senior year. She used to tutor you?"
"Yea, no. I ugh.. I remember her. Um how's she doing?" He turned around then, playfully punching the tree behind him.
"She's good! She's a cheerleader for Notre Dame now, majoring in Philosophy."
"Philosophy?" A brief look of surprise on his face. "Makes sense though. She ugh, she used to carry that Dostoevsky book with her. I remember Nate Hawthorn called her a commie at the library one time and she rolled her eyes told him that if he payed attention in global he'd know that the book came out 37 years before the Russian Revolution..." Eddie laughed, hair swaying over his shoulders as he reminisced. "That's cool... good for her. She probably gets a lot of shit for that." Y/N nodded in response, as if they could both see her. Her mother lost it when she told her what she was planning on majoring in. They compromised in the end, she continue 'wasting her time' on philosophy as long as she went to law school after graduation. Y/N didn't want to be a lawyer like her father, but didn't want to argue about it any further. She liked her philosophy classes, she could debate and argue with her classmates in a free space, without fear of jumping outside the comforts of some social circle like she had back in high school.
"Yea Mom wasn't too thrilled, but she's happy and that's what matters to me." Chrissy replied. "You know, you're not what I'd thought you'd be like..."
"Mean and scary?" Eddie moved his hair to hide his face, the same quirk he had with her back in high school.
"Yeah."
"Yeah, well, I actually kinda thought you'd be mean and scary too."
"Me?" Chrissy whispered, massive smile on her face. Y/N could see that her sister was eased by the natural charm Eddie possessed.
"Terrifying.. I should have known better though. I thought the same thing of your sister when she started tutoring me." Y/N frowned at that. Did she really give off that impression?
"She wasn't though!" Eddie quickly responded. "She was actually one of the few decent people at Hawkins at the time. You know, she never once called me a freak?" Chrissy shook her head, she was a sophomore at the time, they only briefly interacted in the halls and cheer practice. Y/N hung around with her fellow seniors, and Chrissy didn't want to look like the annoying little sister who always tagged around her big sister.
"Yea she ugh.. she was kind to me. I remember that, her kindness. I knew she was busy with pom poms and being Madam President and all that, but she took the time to try and help me. I know the guidance counselor made her do it, but she seemed to really want me to succeed. I felt bad for failing her..." he trailed off.
"I promise you didn't fail her! She knew you were doing the best you could, she never mentioned you disappointing her or anything." Eddie's face was a bit red as he listened to Chrissy speak, fiddling around with the rings on his fingers.
"She ugh.. talked, about me? To you?" he asked, clearly nervous.
"Yea like all time! She said you were.. what's the word she used... Refreshing!" Eddie's eyebrows furrowed at that, and Y/N mentally begged her sister to stop talking.
"What do you mean? Refreshing?" he asked.
"Well like, she thought a lot of the guys she hung around with at the time were shallow and pompous. She liked that you weren't like that. Y/N said that you were unapologetically yourself! And it was refreshing that you didn't care what people thought of you, that you weren't scared to say what you thought, or scared to act the way you do. She thought you were brave." Eddie's head fell back as he let out a fully belly laugh. Both Cunningham sisters looked at him with confusion written on their faces.
"Oh god, ha... if only she knew." He shook his head, putting his face in his hands.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, the not caring about people talking shit about me is mostly true, but not afraid to say what I think? Me? Brave? Couldn't be further from the truth." Chrissy waited for him to continue, a not yet awkward silence falling between the two.
"You see, I am in fact scared like all the time" Eddie admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
"No way!" Chrissy yelled.
"Yes way!"
"I don't believe you" Chrissy shook her head, ponytail swishing behind her.
"You see here Miss. Cunningham, I can prove it to you"
"How?"
"Well, I was smitten with... this girl right. Totally head over heels, ha, it was pathetic really. I didn't have a shot in hell with this chick, totally out of my league. First of all, she's smart as hell. Like, Einstein level smart. Not only that, she's gorgeous, and sunny? Yea, she's sunny. She lights up any room she walks in. She's the type of girl you'd be proud to bring home to your parents. Show her off ya know? I would've given anything to call her my girl..." Y/N's stomach sank at the admission. She knew she had no right to be jealous of whoever this girl was, she had no claim over Eddie Munson. She hasn't even spoken to him in nearly two years, and yet, the green eyed monster was sitting pretty over her shoulder, seething with envy.
"So what did you do?"
"That's precisely my point, I did nothing. Didn't have the balls to ask her out, and whenever I did talk to her I was always fumbling around. I couldn't think of the right words to say. I tried to do it with music, but that clearly didn't work." he scoffed. Y/N could picture it. Eddie sitting there, writing a song to woo this mystery girl, performing it, only to be shot down by her. Well good riddance, Eddie was better off.
"Even when she left I thought about her. I couldn't tell you how many times I sat in my van, keys in the ignition, ready to go drive to her and tell her how I feel, be all John Hughes about it... but I was too chickenshit to actually do it."
"Well maybe it's not too late! You could totally do all of that!" Chrissy replied. "You're a good guy! I'm sure if you showed up at her door with a bouquet of roses or something and admit how you feel she would say yes!" Y/N really wanted her sister to shut up now.
"She probably doesn't even remember me. Some loser she knew from Hawkins, probably has some Tom Cruise lookalike boyfriend now. But thank you... Anyway, flattery totally works with me, so.. 25% off discount for the half. Fifteen bucks. You're robbing me blind here, ya know." Eddie reached into his tin box, grabbing a plastic baggy of weed from his stash. Chrissy's faced changed suddenly, the nervous look back on her face. The smile she had on before vanished and forgotten.
"Do you have anything... maybe... stronger?"
Eddie's face changed as well, a look of concern now gracing his features. It's one thing for a cheerleader asking him to score some dope, but hard drugs? For Chrissy Cunningham? Y/N really hoped he wouldn't give her anything. Flashbacks of her younger self in the same Hawkins cheer uniform Chrissy wore went through her mind. With Rick trying to push coke or ketamine on to her.
"I mean... yea I do, some Special K Rick left back at my trailer, but are you sure? I don't usually deal with that shit, it's hard stuff." At this moment Y/N really wished she has telepathy, her mind screaming at her sister say no.
"Yes." Shit.
"Well, my campaign is starting in like 20 minutes, and you have to get back to cheer for the laundry basket game. So, I guess I can drive you to my trailer after. If you're 100% sure."
"I'm sure" Chrissy was dead set on this. Y/N was livid, there was no way in hell she would allow it. She's seen what K does to people. At the beginning of the semester she went to this frat party with her roommate, and a bunch of the brothers were sitting in a circle passing it around. They all looked like zombies, eyes hazy, words slurring, barely capable of sitting up right. Nearly catatonic. She'd rather die than see Chrissy hurt herself like that.
"Alright then, I guess I'll see you after the game. Meet me in the parking lot, you know what my van looks like right?"
"I do."
"Okay, ugh see you then." Chrissy got up and left to head back to the school, but Eddie stayed behind. Y/N watched her sister go until she was out of sight, and turned to Eddie who was packing away his things. That's when Y/N stood up, and marched over to the clearing, not caring at this point if she made a sound.
Eddie heard a branch snap and looked over towards the noise only to find Y/N Cunningham stomping towards him. Fists at her sides and a sour look on her face. He was in absolute shock, had no idea how long she'd been there. He prayed to any god that was out there that she didn't hear his conversation with Chrissy, figure out he was talking about her. Eddie would rather the ground swallow him whole then have Y/N know he was still hung up on her all these years.
Eddie hastily stood up, nearly knocking over his stash when Y/N waltzed up to him. Standing inches away, staring at him with those expressive eyes that haunted his memories. She looked pissed, and if that look wasn't directed towards him he'd let his thoughts run wild with how good it looks on her.
"Care to explain to me why you're planning on giving Ketamine to my 18 year old sister Eddie?"
A/N: Let me know if you want to be tagged in any of the fics!

Chrissy survives AU!
while in the hospital for her injuries, Eddie sneaks in to her room while her parents aren’t visiting and just talks to her, about everything and anything that’s going on. ( she’s not awake yet, Vecna’s attack left her in a short coma, but he likes to think that she can hear him, that it’s comforting her as much as it’s comforting him) Eventually he brings his guitar (not his baby, way to loud for the hospital, maybe an acoustic that he has) and plays some of her favorite songs for her. (on the drive to his place the night of the attack, Eddie asked what music she liked, it was all pop and top 40’s, and he teased her for it but he remembered every last song she mentioned. I mean, how could he not, Chrissy Cunningham, the girl he hasn’t been able to get out of his mind since she complimented him at the middle school talent show is in his van, and is laughing with him and talking about music, she said she couldn’t wait to see his band perform at the hideout.)
While he isn’t a suspected murderer like he is in the show, Jason still goes on his rampage and gets the same following from the town, so he still stays on the down-low . While he’s at Ricks, he tries to learn the songs Chrissy mentioned on the drive, and he tries even harder after he learns that music is what weakens Vecna. He practices Chrissy’s favorite song over and over and over again, to make sure it’s perfect, for 1) if Vecna decides to attack her again and 2) he wants to impress her, he definitely doesn’t want to get her favorite song wrong, bad look for his guitar skills he boasted so much about. (he’s still planning on bringing her to a corroded coffin show after all of this mess is over) not only does he practice the song till his fingers basically bleed, he makes Dustin and Co. get a tape of it at the store. the next time he visits her he brings it along with a walkman and a little note simply saying “if you feel scared again, put these on and hit play, it’ll keep you safe - E. He stuffs it in a drawer next to the bed so her mother doesn’t see it.
The upside down stuff goes as normal, Eddie still helps the crew distract the bats, still has his master of puppets, “chrissy, this is for you” moment in the upside down, but this time, he survives. He’s more driven than before, he needs this to work, he needs Nancy, Robin and Steve kill Vecna, he needs to see Chrissy again. He needs to see she’s ok so she can still come see his stupid self play guitar with his stupid band. he just needs her alive and warm and breathing and not dead, so when he climbs back up that rope he hesitates, (if he climbs back up he can visit her again, make sure she’s safe and sound in that flimsy hospital bed she’s been confined to for the past week… but the bats, they’re still flying around… Vecna’s not dead…why aren’t they dead yet?) but as he makes his decision the bats all fall to the ground, they did it.
When he gets back, Chrissy’s awake, sitting up the best she can in her bed. She’s broken up with Jason (he visited this morning, went on about how he wants Eddie arrested for the murders of poor Fred and Patrick, and the attempted murder of Chrissy. told her everything he was up to that past week, including the hunt for Eddie, and Dustin Henderson, as well as straight up threatening Lucas Sinclair, and apparently she wasn’t having it. dumped him right then and there not only for that whole mess, but a multitude of other things she wasn’t brave enough to break up with him for before) she tells Eddie she couldn’t hear much while she was out, but she could her his guitar playing her favorite songs, and insists she has to go to multiple of his shows now (if you learned those in a couple days imagine how amazing you are on stage!!). They don’t talk about the upside down much, she’s not ready yet, but neither is he truthfully, one day, her and Eddie will sit down and talk about everything that happened, today is not that day. but he does fill her in on the basics of what happened to her, that the big bad is definitely dead, and who helped kill him, so she doesn’t have to be afraid anymore. She hugs him as tight as she can with her free arm (the other is in a cast, which she plans on having everyone in the party sign, she also insisted on meeting every last person who helped in this, She tells Eddie that he gets first picks at signing her cast though) and says thank you more times than he can count. They talk for hours and hours, and by the end of it, they’ve made a plan, well Chrissy made a plan and Eddie full heartedly agreed.
“once i’m out of this hospital we’re gonna make up lost time”
Theyre gonna make mixtapes for eachother, and watch movies, and talk about DnD and cheer, and drive around, and go to shows and just exist with eachother.
they can’t get out of this hospital soon enough.

So I mentioned it in another post but who wants to hear my horrific angst for aus or season 5? No one? TS this is my blog
Long post under the cut
Ok so my thought is very much around how vecna has his victims lined up as trophies in his mindscape. They can't JUST be trophies right? Vecna is a loon but he's too pragmatic to be so vain. They must serve a purpose. He needed 4 of them to open the gates so they must have some significance that his other victims don't.
Which brings me to my theory. Vecna needs his s4 victims to power the gates, like uh totems or human battery packs, that's why he needs them close to hand in his mind and not buried in some forgotten hole like the ones he killed in the lab. So he can keep them trapped in bad memories, keep tormenting them so their misery keeps the gates open. That's why he tormented them first. We know from Kali fear and anger are powerful emotions but from el and Mike we know love is stronger. Henry doesn't understand love, so he's basically using scare power like he's in monsters inc.
SO HERE IS MY HIDIOUS ANGST IF THAT WASNT BAD ENOUGH
Once vecna opens the gates, he's got his first set of 4 victims powering them, but it's not enough. We know El has a longer range wither her powers and even she needed to piggy back on max to reach him. My idea is that to keep his influence spreading he needs to piggy back on others too, more victims to act as human relays. Think some sort of torture based radio tower or the shield of Morty suffering from Rick and Morty.
My idea is that he has people sort of strung up to towers made of flesh like the mind flayer, being kept alive and 'protected' by demogorgons like Will with the tube down his throat in season 1. Vecna is using their nightmares, their mental scapes as pitstops for his abilites. Jump from the upside down where he's safe ,like the creel house scene, into their mind scapes and from then onto whoever he wants.
Next question is, who would he choose as victims? Well I'm glad you asked:
Eddie(maybe)
disclaimer, im more on the side of kas eddie than this but lets just run with it.
Fairly self explanatory, Eddie was a choice of convenience, there's a person, might as well use them. Dying in the upside down, vecna is sure he'd agree to anything to live. Imagine his suprise when Eddie pulls a fuck you and fuck your plan too out of his flack jacket. Now vecna is determined to keep him alive out of spite. If he'd just been good and done as vecna asked maybe he'd give a nice dream to his little human relay but no, now Eddie gets to watch Chrissy and Dustin die over and over until vecnas finally done with him or his body gives out under the strain. i guess if u wanted kas eddie, this could be punishment from vecna for disobeying him . maybe doesnt have the same effect since kas eddie is already dead but hey ho its still not pleasant.
Jason
I think Jason's death was bullshit. Not in the way Eddie's, bobs, or Billy's was bullshit but bullshit all the same. So I'm bringing him back in the worst fuckin way possible. the gate opening doesnt rip him in half so much as it swallows him whole. he lands face first in the upside down creel house just in time to miss steve nancy and robin leaving. hes hurt, thats no short fall he just had so hes kinda stuck there. obviously when hes done licking his wounds vecna comes home and finds him. Jason has zero fucking clue what's going on in Hawkins so for him to be strung up and tortured by vecna just has so many layers to it. Jason would think he'd died and gone to hell and that's a whole new kind of angst for me to work with. Vecna wouldn't even need to make him hallucinate to get the kind of suffering he needs to boost his powers. Just keep him awake and watching and Jason would be out of his mind in minutes. Bonus points for any body horror he might bring to the table: vecna has those vines in his back , maybe he could put some in Jason and turn him into a human security system with tendrils and eyes all over Hawkins. Forces Jason to watch the horror unfold AND when Jason inevitably reacts to the party, cries out to lucas or his friends to help him, vecna will know instantly.
Billy
Ok we know for a fact that billy is still around in vecnas head somewhere. See my other post for proof. Tldr billy is the only hallucination who seems to have real eyes or a soul and consciousness. Susan's eyes go white, Chrissy's moms eyes go white, freds accusers eyes are all white. The reason Billy's aren't is BC vecna has him, he can use the real billy in the hallucination to torment max. I imagine the reason he does this is 2 fold. To scare max yes but moreso to punish billy for daring to stand up to him, for beating his mind games in season 3. When max is in a coma neither vecna or el can reach her, she's safe. So what does vecna do? Take his frustration out on billy by forcing him to help spread the upside down around Hawkins. I see this 1 of two ways.
1. Billy has give up. He is too broken, he doesn't care what happens to him, to Hawkins, to anyone, even max. He is just too exhausted and can't bring himself to fight when he suddenly finds he has a body again. It just means more pain and he just cant take it anymore. i do love me some angst but i think this is a little ooc for Billy.
Or
2.Billy is too tough for vecna to break. He tried it once and it didn't work and all its done is pissed Bills off. Billy is fucking mad so there's no sense in trying to hallucinate him into compliance because hes already gazed into the abyss and spat in its face with the double middle finger salute. Further more, billy doesn't give a fuck about Hawkins, so making him watch shit hit the fan doesnt work either. But what does work, is threatening max. She's the only thing he gives a fuck about and he can't help her like this. "Do as I say and I won't touch her." Vecna says "you could run but you'll never get to her before I do" the noodly bastard is lying through his teeth and praying billy doesnt call his bluff. Nancy did a number on him, his brisk walking days are over. He's just praying billy doesn't find out max is in a coma and essentially untouchable in everything but the physical sense. So billy complies, for now, plotting to grind vecnas face into the concrete with his boot heel. He'll behave for now.
For max.
And since we need 4 I've got 2 choices.
First one is Nancy. Not that I don't love Nancy, even despite her flaws, i still canon that Karen wheeler is Alice creel which would make Henry, Nancy and mike's uncle. There has to be some reason why he picked her to show those visions to. Also I want to see Jonathan robin and Steve panicking BC Nancy is the only one holding the braincell and they all love her deeply. Bonus points if they get half way though saving her and she walks past having saved herself. insert i fear no man but that thing scares me meme of vecna with nancy.
Second one might lose more people but
You know how stranger things is inspired by silent hill? I think the last relay tower human/ victim should be Henry. Or at least, some part of the original Henry creel.
Think about it. Silent hills Alessa separated herself into "dark" and " light" sides. Og alessa stayed in the otherworld/ upside down and Cheryl/heather escaped. No powers but free from the darkness of alessas mind and the other world .why wouldn't vecna try that if he could? He's got trauma, he's got weakness, he may not look human anymore but hes still fallible . imagine if he found out he could just split himself down the middle and send that weak half packing some place else? become the apex predator he clearly wants to be? he'd jump at the chance...well, hobble at the chance. id like to see vecna treat this "weak" part of himself terribly. 'henry' gets the worst treatment from vecna and its just delicious angst and self loathing.
side note i had a thought about vecna using 'henry' as a human blood pouch for vampire eddie. henry using his 'talk to kids in the lab' voice to try and keep eddie calm, eddies sobbing and apologising as he drinks from henry but hes so hungry and in pain and has no control over it, henry just telling him its ok even though its agony.its nearly whumptober lads no one can stop me.
i am a sick and twisted individual. i may rewrite this thought into an actual fic with mungrove or munver, havent decided yet.
so yes, there are all my thoughts tm . i need a nap, maybe if i daydream up anymore suffering for my favorites ill let you all know

Thoughts while reading “The Blood of Olympus” with my nephew-
1. Jason sending out a message to his dad asking him to look out for Nico- I just want them to be besties
2. Oh shit- Jason got stabbed and with imperial gold! (Although I love that Annabeth is the one to panic a little and Piper is being the clearheaded one- because Piper has to be clearheaded and Annabeth can afford not to be)
3. Seriously- I am obsessed with how much Jason is worried about Nico
4. I don’t like Juno/Hera, because she’s caused a LOT of issues, but also, I love the drama. Plus, Jupiter/Zeus is the worst and if he’s mad at her, then I know who I stand with
5. My poor sweet Nico just working his poor butt off with this shadow travelling
6. Do I ever find out what happened in Albania? Because I need to know
7. I’ve said it several times and I’ll probably say it several times more- Octavian is the WORST
8. Seriously, I love Leo and Calypso and I want him to find a way back to her so bad. I just want my boy happy
9. I love that Percy physically can’t not be sarcastic to just every god/goddess he comes across. No restraint, only sass
10. “Change the plans and then stick to it.”
11. Clarisse still manages to be angry and caring all at once and I adore her, also I’m obsessed with Hedge leaving his pregnant wife in her care
12. Hades, my love 🖤 (I may or may not be influenced by my love of the Disney-Hercules version of Hades… 🤷🏻‍♀️)
13. Nico’s concern goes from Hazel then to Jason then Percy and the rest! My Nico/Jason best friendship is thriving
14. Hades wants his boy to be happy! This chapter is killing me
15. Piper and Frank are kind of sweet together as friends- just chill vibes until they need to fight
16. Buford the wonder table- an icon, a legend
17. “Piper McClane, that was without a doubt the dumbest risk I’ve ever seen anyone take and I date a dumb risk taker.” Annabeth- you think Piper taking a literal leap of faith into that pit was dumber than any risk Percy ever took? Girl, you must be blinded by love because I’m pretty sure dumb risk taker is one of his defining traits
18. I really like Piper and Annabeth as a combo- Annabeth is all plans and logic, while Piper is all about her emotions. Plus this whole chapter with them fighting with Mimas and Piper having BIG Percy energy- love it
19. Reyna is a badass. That’s it, end of thought.
20. Orion is an incel- makes sense
21. Hylla is also a badass- gotta love the Ramirez-Arellano girls
22. “I’m breathing Dylan!?”
23. Nico may say that Hades isn’t the best dad or whatever, but of the gods/goddesses- he seems alright. Like most of the others are indifferent at best, but Hades actively has tried to help his kids. Poseidon only seems to care about Percy and maybe a smidge about Tyson, but then we learn about Kymopoleia. Ares is… Ares, and only seems to care if his kids win/fight. Aphrodite seems like she’s just there for the drama. Of the godly parents we have seen more of he’s doing okay. (My love of Hades popped out full force here)
24. My son, Nico, is the best and I adore him and Bryce got what was coming to him, the little psycho
25. Hedge may always be ready to throw down and be just over the top all the time, but he is a real one- he cares so much for his charges 🖤
26. As much as I am team Nico/Jason besties, Reyna/Nico friendship is dear to my heart. Plus team Parthenos (as I’ve dubbed them in my head) is wonderful
27. Apollo is ridiculous and emotional and I love it
28. I don’t know why, but Asclepius prescribing Jason glasses amuses me more than is should
29. Rick… what the fuck?! Why my sweet son, Leo?? And he’s just so accepting? Fuck you!!
30. Tyson, my love 🖤🖤
31. Reyna continuing to be a badass and I love that she gets to kill this absolute incel of a giant
32. YES! Bringing in Pipers indigenous heritage! The song of the snakes! I love it 🥰
33. I may have complained previous about Piper in “House of Hades” but I see she was saving all her badassery for this book, because she has just been killing it the entire time- being the most emotionally intelligent, being an incredible team with Annabeth. This is the Piper I missed in “House of Hades.”
34. YAYAYAYAYYAY HEDGE MADE IT FOR HIS BABIES BIRTH!!!
35. Will just stepping up and telling Nico no to his shadow travel so he doesn’t do himself more damage- okay, get it [yes I have been spoiled about the future of Will and Nico, but I love that the first scene of them together is Will being all medic guy and stubborn about Nico not doing himself more damage with his shadow travels, telling Nico that his feeling about the campers thoughts about him are in his head, and just in general being a little shit]
36. I’ve said it so many times and here is one more- Octavian is the WORST!
37. Hell yeah- God fight!
38. God fight seems done, giants are all destroyed and Leo is still okay, but Gaea is awake and I still have like 8 chapters…
39. And we are talking vaguely about Leo’s death again and I DON’T LIKE IT
40. RIP Argo II and questioning what happened to my boy 🥺
41. I love the insane differences between the Romans and the Greeks fighting- Romans are so organized and just proper. Greeks is just chaos and enthusiasm.
42. FESTUS! And my boy right there with him! 🖤
43. Oh no….. Jason and Leo are fighting Gaea… I don’t like it
44. And I’m crying and plotting my revenge on Rick
45. Bye bitch! (Me to Octavian)
46. And I’m crying over Leo again (still- my nephew is only slightly concerned)
47. Awwwww! Hedge is so proud of his baby! And Clarisse is the godmother 😊
48. Okay, seriously- Renya/Nico friendship reigns supreme (sorry Jason/Nico besties- I still love you)
49. Nico teasing his sisters boyfriend should happen always
50. And once more crying about Leo- fuck you, Rick
51. Ooohhhh Nico trying to suppress his crush on Will- I see you
52. Just when I say Reyna/Nico friendship reigns supreme, Jason comes along and talks with his bestie and even gets a hug and is so excited that Nico is staying at Camp Half Blood! (And they are besties and NO ONE can change my mind on this)
53. Will scolding Nico for not stopping by to say hi while he was busy in the infirmary and then telling him he is getting at least three days of rest in the infirmary 🙌🏻
54. Percy’s brain processing in the slowest possible manner over Nico telling him he used to have a crush on him, but that he’s not really his type is kind of precious
55.. Piper once again with the emotional intelligence!
56. Leo 😭
57. HELL YES FESTUS! My wonderful, beautiful dragon!
58. And he gets to find Calypso! (Okay, Rick, you are forgiven- a little)

You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth 18+
Chapter 12/16 Pairing: Eddie Munson / Chrissy Cunningam Need to catch up? Click Here for Chapter 1
When Chrissy finally woke up, she was mute. People are sympathetic at first, but when she doesn’t magically get better, she slowly finds herself as one of the ‘freaks’. Lucky for her, there’s one freak in particular she really doesn’t mind finding herself beside.
Warnings: Slow Burn, Angst, PTSD, Chrissy still got attacked by Vecna but didn't die, Eddie still got mauled by bats but didn't die, Hurt/Comfort, Abuse
It wasn’t exactly a secret that Eddie was affiliated with Reefer Rick anymore, not after what had happened to Patrick. But with Hopper assuring Mrs Cunningham that Chrissy was with a friend and that Eddie had promised to stay away, he thought it unlikely she would think to look there.
Lucky for Chrissy, Eddie apparently had professional espionage agents in his friendship circle. It had only taken Marie walking down the street to the Wheelers and explaining his idea to Nancy, after that, everything was decided for them.
Marie would go and get Chrissy’s things and bring them back to her house. Marie’s was the obvious place anyway, and it was right next to… the Wheelers.
Nancy would collect her things and go to Family Video and leave it with Steve under the pretence of returning some things.
Who would then take it to Reefer Rick’s after his shift.
It seemed a bit like overkill to Chrissy, but Eddie approved.
“Now how do we get Chrissy out there?”
“We do it while you’re collecting her things.” Eddie said with a shrug, “Take one of Dustin’s radios, let us know if she’s not there, and we’ll have to think of something else. But she’s bound to question you, or watch you like a hawk in Chrissy’s room. Actually, that’s a point, do you want someone to go with you?”
Marie had been fine with going on her own, and Eddie decided he quite liked her. As long as he ignored the last three years where she’d looked at him like something gross on her shoe every time she’d seen him or cackled with the others whenever Jason had mocked him. Cheerleaders, man.
Well, no. All-other-cheerleaders-but-not-his-once-cheerleader.
Apparently, there had also been one part of the plan he had not been filled in on. When Dustin arrived outside Marie’s to be taken back home and for Eddie to grab a few things (he wasn’t going to let Chrissy stay there alone, was he?) he found that Lucas, Erika, Mike, and Will were all stood behind him.
“What is this?”
“Our cover.” Dustin said with such a superior tone that Eddie was tempted to thump him.
“What cover?”
“Steve!”
“Okay, not helping.”
“Why would Steve go to Reefer Ricks?” Dustin asked haughtily. “Everyone knows he’s basically our full time Mom. He’ll pick us all up.”
“And why would you all be at Reefer Ricks?”
“Playing Dungeons & Dragons with you.” Dustin said, not quite adding ‘Duh!’ but implying it all the same.
“No, no, no.”
“Yes, yes, yes! We don’t actually have to play. We’ll just hang out for a few hours, it’s cool.”
“It is not cool, Henderson.”
Marie was looking heartily sick of him already, uncomfortable with several known members of the Hellfire club just parading on her doorstep.
“Eddie, just take them before anyone sees you.”
Which is how Eddie ended up spending what could have been several blissful hours alone with Chrissy, arguing with a bunch of bored children. Will had never been part of one of Eddie’s campaigns and was the keenest to play. Dustin had collected all of his Dungeons & Dragons stuff and even though Eddie insisted he didn’t have a campaign planned, and Dustin had sworn they would only be ‘pretending’ to play, he still found himself sat at the head of Reefer Rick’s dining table with the Dungeon Master’s board in front of him.
Chrissy had found the whole thing more than amusing, which only slightly dampened his sour mood. They were still only halfway through ‘The Hobbit’, and she’d told him that it was his portrayal of the characters that she enjoyed the most rather than the story, so he didn’t think she’s be too bored.
It took just over half an hour to build Will a new character and level it up enough to match the rest of the party, Dustin had told Chrissy she should roll for a character too, but she’d shook her head.
“You can roll my dice.” Eddie told her, “For their enemies.”
Eddie’s usual campaigns could last all year, planned out meticulously with encounters and NPC’s, and though he was annoyed at their antics and was determined that this was only a one-shot, he wanted to do it justice. It had nothing to do with Chrissy being there, like, at all.
He scanned through the box Dustin had brought along, and finally chose an adventure. It was for characters of a lower level than the party, really. But he could just bump the stats for their encounters.
“The master of Ravenloft is having guests for dinner.” Eddie told them all, his voice low and sinister, “And you all… are invited.”
He skipped through the introductory encounters designed to level up the characters, knowing that they only had a few hours before Steve got there. A one-time adventure did not leave them with enough time for the usual world-creation and intelligence gathering.
So he dropped them straight in outside the Burgomaster’s house, explaining that they had received a letter from him only a few days ago, dated and sealed, requesting their assistance with an urgent matter, in return for a hefty reward.
“A weary-looking mansion squats behind a rusting iron fence. What’s left of the iron gates are twisted and swinging in the breeze. Weeds choke the ground and press with menace upon the house itself… what’s your passive perception?” He asked the table, dropping his narrator voice.
Only Will and Erika had a high enough stat. He pointed at them.
“You two. You notice, against the walls of the house, the growth has been trodden under, forming a path all about the domain. Heavy claw marks have stripped the once-stunning finish of the walls, leaving crumbling stone exposed. You see great black marks staining the walls, correctly deciphering that these were caused by a recent fire. The rest of you? You can only tell that this house is… unloved. Not a pane, not even a shard, of glass in any of the windows. All barred with heavy planking, each plank marked with stains.” Eddie turned to Mike, who was their cleric, “You. You can tell that these stains are in fact marks of an evil omen.”
Obviously, the party attempts to go inside and meet sweet Ireena, the Burgomaster adopted daughter, persuading her to let them in. They are surprised at the rather nice interior, and to learn that the Burgomaster has already been dead for ten days.
“Ten days?” Dustin asked. “But the letter…”
“It’s a forgery.” Erika told him. “It must be.”
Eddie shrugged his shoulders. “I guess it must be.”
Night falls, and that’s when the fun starts, and the wraiths attack, pouring in through the windows despite all their preparations..
“Roll this for me.” Eddie tells Chrissy once he’s jotted down everyone’s initiative rolls in order of highest to lowest.
Chrissy takes the oddly shaped dice from his hand and rolls it out, it clatters onto the table, and she peers over to see a little ‘19’ staring up at her.
“Not bad.” Eddie tells her with a grin, drawing a line in his list under Dustin’s name, who had only rolled a ‘17’ but had a +3. Securing his place at the top of the list.
“Dustin, you’re up.”
By the time Steve had arrived the Burgomasters house was a distant memory. They were now in the evil Count Strahd von Zarovich’s castle, having fought with him first in the foyer, and then in the cramped quarters of a creaking landing, before he had disappeared again in a puff of smoke, the party was now searching the weakened vampire out amongst rooms and rooms of traps and treasures, preparing themselves for the final battle. Eddie wasn’t looking at the adventure guide anymore, only ever glancing down to check stats or make notes.
When Steve arrived, Eddie unceremoniously and completely unfairly let them all fall into an impossible trap, killing the entire party.
“You can’t do that!” Dustin cried out, as chaos erupted all around them and Erika ran her mouth like no middle-schooler should know how to.
“No,” Chrissy whined, touching his arm, “I want to know what happens.”
Eddie had grown used to Chrissy talking to him and didn’t immediately notice the wave of surprise that shot around the table.
“You mean I can’t get rid of them yet? But… Steve’s here.”
Chrissy shook her head, smiling at him. He narrowed his eyes and then tipped his head back, groaning. “Fine! Steve, take a seat man.”
“Did you just—” Will asked Mike, looking at Chrissy.
“Uh huh.”
“But she doesn’t – “
“Nuh huh.”
“Huh.”
“Yeah.”
“Okay, fine.” Eddie interrupted, “So… scratch that, no one falls into the trap and dies – but I do want a dex save from you all.”
Trap avoided, they had explored the next room, where Will successfully navigated a simple puzzle, opening an old chest.
“Inside, you see various pieces of cloth, clearly protecting the contents from the ravages of time. As you look, you notice one of the pieces of cloth levitating out of the chest. It falls away, revealing an ornate and beautiful sword hilt, the blade long missing…”
Mike gasped and started hitting Will’s shoulder in excitement.
“…from behind you, you feel your longsword rising out of its sheath, you look up as hilt and sword forge together in the air above you, the light blinds everyone in the room for a moment, you can hear an angelic choir chorusing in your ears – and then, slowly, the sword – rotating and displaying its magnificent glory, makes its way to the floor, to lay at your feet.”
A slow grin spread over Will’s face.
“I pick it up.”
“You take it in your hands and know that the legends were true. Quite by chance, you have re-united the pieces and made whole – the sunsword.”
They all cheered, and Eddie laughed, Will still looking at him expectantly. “That is a magical item, young Byers. You get +2 against all creatures, +3 against undead – for damage and to hit, and…” he paused dramatically, “when used against a vampire, this sword flares sunlight on a successful hit, dealing an additional…” Eddie did a drumroll on the table “10. Damage.”
“Holy shit!” Dustin cried out.
“But!” Eddie interrupted, half-out of his chair, “Someone else heard that sweet, sweet music too. Initiative!”
Dice clattered all around the table, and Eddie leant over Chrissy, whispering, “Our monster has advantage, roll it twice. We get the higher number.”
Chrissy nodded and rolled, getting a respectable 16 on her first roll, and then clamping her hand over her mouth on the second. Eddie looked at it and his face split into a wide grin that had everyone else looking nervous.
Eddie looked down at the little ‘20’, and bent over, his hand sliding up Chrissy’s neck as he pressed a quick but heartful kiss into her surprised lips, “You’re amazing.”
She laughed, blushing as Eddie turned to the others. Who were all staring at them.
“Hands up anyone who got more than 20? No? Okay, nineteen? Eighteen?” He kept calling numbers until everyone had declared themselves by raising their hands and they had their order.
Eddie checked everyone’s positions on the map, noting Mike was the closest to the hidden monster.
“I’m going to need you to roll for perception.” He told him. Mike didn’t seem to hear him, still looking bamboozled.
“Wheeler. Perception check man. C’mon!”
Mike groaned.
“With disadvantage.”
Mike rolled a 17 and then an 18. Sighing with relief that both rolls had been high, and that he had a decent wisdom modifier to bump his 17 up to a 22.
It was enough for him to block the worst of the surprise attack, but he still took several dice worth of damage as a ghoul flew at him from out of an undiscovered trap door.
They defeated it. But all the preparation and healing spells had gone to waste. They were almost all down to half their maximum hit points, had exhausted a good chunk of their spell slots, and Eddie ensured there would be no time for a short rest before the final battle.
“The ghoul lies charred and still twitching in the centre of the room, as the entire castle begins to shake, dust cascading from the rafters, the floor beneath your feet starts to break away, the walls cracking open. You’re all still in shock from its sudden appearance and ferocious attack, breathless, weapons drawn – as the ceiling collapses, blocking the door.”
“The trap door!” Lucas yells, banging his hands on the table.
Eddie raises his eyebrows and the others all nod in agreement.
“You race to the trapdoor, not knowing if more ghouls lurk in the dark, but knowing... that they usually come in groups.”
Chrissy held her breath.
“You help each other up, the floor falling away just as the last of the party is lifted into the cavernous crawl space of…” Eddie paused, looking around him. “…This… isn’t an attic. You realise. The trembling of the castle is no longer coming from below you. It’s… coming from above. You’re in a strange stone antechamber, dank stinking tunnels fanning out in every direction.”
“Catacombs.” Mike whispered, entranced. Eddie grins at him.
“You can hear whispers coming from the tunnels, echoes of fallen loved ones, pleas for mercy, taunts at your failures. I need a wisdom saving throw… from…” Eddie examined the stats he had jotted down for each player, looking for who had the lowest wisdom.
“Lady Applejack.”
“Oh no…that’s not…” Erika started, and then sighed, miserable. She brought her d20 to her lips and kissed it, giving a silent but reverent prayer before casting the dice across the table, she closed her eyes, unable to look as the dice landed, and they all leaned forward.
She’d rolled a 12.
“What’s your modifier?” Will asked.
“2.”
The whole table looked at Eddie, their eyes wide. Even Chrissy, all of them silently waiting.
He hissed through his teeth and mouthed, “14?”
Erika nodded; her face scrunched up in worry. Chrissy looked from Erika to Eddie, and then to Steve – who was leaning against the wall, looking entirely uninterested.
“Oh man… Lady Applejack hears the cries of her fallen comrades, blaming her for their deaths, and she knows deep down that they’re right. It was her fault. She’s a danger to everyone around her. They would be better off if she wasn’t here. Can everyone else give me an insight check please?”
None of them rolled higher than a 13. Will failing harder than anyone with a 2.
Eddie had wanted them to be able to talk her around, but the dice just hadn’t gone their way, and so, poor Lady Applejack was hindered by the ‘Fear Effect’, making her unable to willingly move towards an enemy and giving her disadvantage on her attacks. As the party’s rogue, this was a serious problem.
Eddie needed to get them into action as soon as possible – not only to save Steve from his slow and painful death of boredom, or to get them all home before curfew, but to give Lady Applejack the opportunity to re-roll and get herself back into the fray.
They technically took the wrong tunnel, and should have come across a barred doorway, but it was growing late, and Eddie wanted them to have their shot before he called it a day, so he improvised.
Chrissy had been reading the material over his shoulder and frowned when, instead of a barred doorway, they came across a crypt instead.
“The name and epitaph have been clawed off, as if by some mad tormented beast, but you recognise the beautiful stone-carved face of the monument from the oil paintings upstairs. This is the final resting place of Marya Markovia.”
Eddie casually bypassed the encounter they should have had in the next room. A bunch of flying bats, yeah, no thanks, and gave them a low-level spectre instead, giving Erika a chance to make another saving throw, where she rolled… a 9. So, he came at them with a trio of giant spiders to give her another chance. It wouldn’t take long for them to take down the relatively weak arachnids (he hadn’t bumped up their stats to match the players levels), giving her a possible three opportunities to snap out of it – even at the risk of everyone taking poison damage.
A 6… and then a 20!
Eddie pumped his fist, “Yes!”
Erika sighed in relief, grinning. But Eddie soon wiped the smiles off all their faces. His voice dropping low, and urgent as they easily thwarted the last spider and entered the next room.
“A peaceful stillness, a calm amid the storm is felt here. In the centre of the tomb, a white marble slab holds the coffin of—” Eddie paused, “Sergei Von Zarovich.”
The whole table let out a breath, Dustin laughing. Giving the room a perfunctory search – and Eddie kindly gifting them a cache of (weak) healing potions before moving on to the next room.
“A darkness clouds this room, and the essence of evil permeates the very air. The smell of freshly turned earth fills your nostrils, coating your tongue. To the south, there are three empty alcoves, partially hidden in shadow. Settled into the dirt of the floor in the centre of the room, lies a shining black coffin of finely waxed wood with fittings of brilliant shining brass. The lid… is closed.”
After some arguing, Will’s character steps up, and cautiously lifts the lid.
“Inside, is Strahd himself. His waxy skin pearlescent with its paleness. He has been seriously weakened by your previous attacks, and has come back here, to his crypt – reassured in his belief that you could never make it through the maze of the catacombs to reach him here. And yet, here you are. He doesn’t stir.”
“I stab him.” Will decides, “with the sunsword.”
Eddie grins wickedly, ignoring the rest of the party’s pleas for Will to reconsider.
“The moment the sunsword is pulled from its sheath, Strahd’s eyes fly open. Sensing the danger you hold in your hands and knowing that this could be his last desperate grasp for his immortality and his chance to finally have his bride. Roll for Initiative.”
Eddie often deployed just enough plot armour to see his players through, it was part of the fun after all, but now, when they were facing the last encounter, their win or lose moment, that carefully crafted plot armour was cast aside, may the best dice rolls win.
In the epic battle against this first evil, Strahd (or more… Chrissy’s dice) took more than their fair share.
First Dustin’s character, and then Erika’s – dead or dying. Then Mike’s – heroically taking a hit meant for Will, but stupidly leaving them without their best healer.
So there was just Will and Lucas left.
“Strahd looks drunk – dizzy and reeling, your party lies in tatters around you.”
Will attempts to use the sword again.
Chrissy rolls a 4 and Eddie’s excitement grows. But Will rolls a 1.
“Those dice need replacing, man.” Eddie tells him, shaking his head. “You miss. The sword swings wildly, but with a sway that is more luck than skill, Strahd lurches out of the way, his arm coming up to batter you around the back of the head.” Eddie nods to Chrissy to roll, and they don’t get high enough to hit. “But he overshoots, pirouetting and instead turning around to face…Sundar the Bold.”
Lucas sets his jaw, glancing at his character sheet. “I’m going for it. I’m going to grapple him.”
The dead players moan, but Eddie chuckles. Grappling was some of the stupidest maths the game had, but he liked Lucas’s idea. They had to stop for Eddie to find the example in one of his magazines, and then reverse engineer the maths for Chrissy and Lucas’s rolls. His face giving nothing away.
“Aptly named, Sundar the Bold lunges forwards, taking Strahd by surprise he pins him in place. Unable to move, Strahd attempts to break free… Strength.”
Lucas rolls, “16.”
Eddie looks at Chrissy, who rolls the dice and then shakes her head, Eddie glances at it, and wonders if Will has somehow swapped his dice. It’s a 2.
“Strahd flails in your arms, howling with rage, but you have forgotten one thing. You have seen it already Sundar the bold. Strahd – genius though he may be, is also… a coward.”
There are cries of ‘No!’ and “Not again!” around the table.
“Strahd vanishes like smoke between your fingers, until you are simply hugging yourself. But suddenly, the coffin – empty all this time – once again contains his sleeping form.
“Get him Will!”
Eddie lets out a high cackle as Will attacks and then chokes, clutching at his chest.
“The sword pierces Strahd’s chest, his eyes fly open, locking you with a stare that for once shows true fear. The sword glows as if reflecting the sun itself, as Strahd… turns to dust.”
The room erupts in cheers, stopping only when Steve asks, “Great. Can we go now?”
As they pack up, Will comes over to Eddie.
“That was great.”
“Glad you enjoyed it man.” Eddie tells him, grinning as he helped Dustin put everything back into the box. It was only when they had all filed out that Eddie realised, they had been playing for more than 6 hours. Short for D&D standards, but still…
“I’m sorry about them.” Eddie told Chrissy ruefully, getting himself a glass of water from the tap. His throat tickling from the hours of putting on voices and that last high screech.
“I enjoyed it.” Chrissy said, following him and pulling herself up to sit on the countertop next to the sink. “I like all your different voices.”
Eddie flushed, clearing his throat, and taking another sip of water.
“You hungry?” He asked, “Rick hasn’t got anything here, but Dustin raided Mrs Henderson’s cupboards on the way over, so I have... like, snacks and stuff.”
Chrissy shook her head, taking the glass of water from him and setting it down in the sink, hooking her foot behind his knee and bringing him closer.
He slipped easily between her legs, taking her face in his hands, and closing the distance so that their lips met.
He kissed her gently, all too aware how difficult today must have been for, how apprehensive she must feel about whatever came next. It was so easy to just lose himself in the sensation, his eyes closed, stray strands of her hair tickling the back of his hand as she grabbed hold of his shirt and leaned forwards, deepening the kiss.
The little noises she was making went straight through him, drowning him with want, need.
She pushed his jacket from his shoulders and Eddie backed away, breathing heavily. “I don’t want to get carried away.”
Chrissy pulled him back, and he sunk into her lips again, his hands on her waist, a shudder running through him when her fingers ran through his scalp and took his hair into her fists.
When she licked tentatively at his lips with her tongue, he sprang away from her again like she’d burned him.
“I’m serious.”
“Am I going to have to make you roll for perception, genius?” She asked, giggling.
Eddie groaned, the fabric of his jeans pressing uncomfortably into his growing erection.
It occurred to him for this first time that she might think he had engineered this on purpose. Bringing her out here and then insisting he stay with her.
She put her hands out towards him and made grabby motions until he came back within reach.
“Princess,” he breathed, unable to stop kissing her. “That’s…” more kisses.  “that’s not why I brought you out here.”
“No?” She asked, pulling his bottom lip between her teeth.
“Fuck…”
He took the back of her head in one hand, pressing a hard kiss against her mouth, pushing her lips apart with his tongue, and resolutely ignoring the chivalrous gentleman that existed somewhere way back in the recess of his mind as she forced his jacket from his shoulders again and he took his hands off of her just long enough to let it drop to the floor.
He hooked one arm under her knee and pulled her close to the edge of the countertop, careful of her arm as she fell against him, welcoming the pressure of her jeans rubbing against his. She wrapped her legs around him, leaving the counter completely as she locked her ankles around his waist.
“Is that what you want?” The words were out of his mouth before he could stop them, his cock throbbing in time with the heart pounding in his chest.
She nodded, “Don’t you?”
Jesus fucking Christ. What a question.
“Have… have you done it before?” He asked awkwardly, thinking that he personally wouldn’t be impressed with having a dump like Rick’s house as his first time. Not that his has been particularly stellar. Chrissy deserved better though.
Chrissy nodded. She hadn’t had a lot of experience; Jason had been devout in his faith and genuinely believed that sex was for after marriage. But he’d also been a teenager with raging hormones, and so it had happened twice before they’d had a very serious conversation about not letting it happen again. The first time had been… uncomfortable. But the second time, when both of them on the edge of tipsy and in someone’s parents’ bedroom at a house party, had been fun. She had been quite disappointed when Jason had had ‘the talk’ with her the next day.
“Have you?” She asked, genuinely curious. A lot of people were scared of him, most people at school didn’t like him, but she knew him a lot better now, knew a whole new side to him.
Eddie had. He’d lost his virginity years ago to a cougar at a Black Sabbath gig with dyed-black hair and oily red lipstick. It had been a thrill at the time but looking back it made him cringe a little. There’d been a couple of girls since. A slightly drunk fumble with a girl who thought it was cool he was in a band after one of his gigs, and a summer long fling with a ‘customer’ who had been in Eddie’s original year at school, but neither of them had been interested enough to pursue anything when she moved out of state for college, even though they’d both made vague promises to one another.
She’d hooked up with him again when she came back for Christmas that year, smoked half his stash, and then told him she had a boyfriend. Eddie had been more bothered about the amount of his weed she’d smoked, and then later, the pills that had gone missing after she left. It still left a bitter taste in his mouth, especially when he was unable to cough up the money to his supplier and had to dig himself out of that very precarious hole by pawning his uncle’s stereo.
“Once or twice.”
Chrissy raised her eyebrows.
“Couple times.” He conceded, not wanting to get into his sexual history, and not interested in hearing about hers either. “Are you jealous?” He teased when her lips pursed.
“No.” she said, petulantly. Her bottom lip sticking out and making it impossible for Eddie not to kiss her again.
“Are you sure?” He asked when their kissing grew frantic, ignoring how painfully hard he was. She nodded wordlessly, her hands tightening around the back of his neck.
He leant his face away again, his hormones and common sense raging a D&D worthy fight as they battled one another in his head. He could feel how fucking hot she was, even with two layers of denim between them.
“I’ve not got any condoms or anything.”
“I do.”
His eyebrows shot up into his hair, and Chrissy flushed, mumbling something into his chest.
Eddie tipped his head to see her face, “Huh?”
“I put them on the list I gave to Marie.”
“You…you… okay.”
“I didn’t have any at home.” Chrissy continued, blushing, “But I just… hoped she might have some?”
Eddie swallowed, “Yeah.” He squeaked, and then cleared his throat, “I knew I liked her.”
Chrissy giggled, her cheeks still pink.
“If I’d have known what you had planned, I’d have killed them all when we got here.”
“In the game?”
“No, yeah, of course in the game.” Eddie said shiftily, making her laugh again.
“Upstairs?” She asked, and Eddie nodded hastily in agreement.
He put her down and made sure the bolt on the door was pulled across. When he turned around, Chrissy was standing at the bottom of the stairs. A fistful of silver foil wrappers in her hand.
Eddie had died. He decided. He must have. Those bats must have popped his head clean off, because this could not be real.

Sometimes you just open your AO3 and see a tag for #evil dick and forget you're deep in the batman fandom tags for a hot second and just need a minute to go 'oh... Right' 😂
Like you're telling me they've retconned how many things and made how many worlds and they still can't manage to change that in a way that fans actually didn't hate (looking at you, Ric)
Even a memory loss arc like seriously:
(takes place before Dick is really well established as Nightwing)
A man in a strange outfit wakes up in an alley in bludhaven and remembers nothing, but still has basic common sense, deductive reasoning skills, and a good heart
First order of business: blend in and hide this weird costume/armor
He has access to newspaper stands, and it's not hard to recognize pictures of his own face staring back at him in the grocery isle—His name must be Richard. He decides to go by Rick
It's also not hard to find footage of a hero—Nightwing—wearing the same costume Rick has squirreled away somewhere
He does some cool thing like banding together with homeless people/street kids to improve their quality of life, all while building a network of friends and trying to figure out how he ended up on the street with no memories
Rick doesn't know how to find batman and feels like he's onto something on his own, so he doesn't try to get in contact
Using his detective skills and some help from his new friends, Rick back-traces what happened in the fight and foils (villain)'s plan with batman swooping in to help at the last moment
This whole process takes like a year or something
Batman takes him home, explains his history, and re-introduces him to the family. He also recruits a magic user/justice league friend to help bring back the memories
The memories come back dimly and with less emotion than before. Rick struggles with the fact that everyone wants him to be back to "normal"
It's actually Jason who understands this best and gives halfway decent advice about moving on, despite not following it very well himself
Rick is eventually able to accept and explain that he isn't going to be exactly like they remember... He's Rick now. But he still cares for his family and wants to build new connections to reinforce the ones that have faded
His connections with the people of bludhaven remain, and he decides to relocate there more permanently as a protector and symbol of hope

The Heroes of Olympus: The Blood of Olympus - Rick Riordan
My Comfy Panda Pillow Pet (as seen on TV) finally arrived, which is good, because I am full of cold, and really need a panda friend to snuggle up to. Nothing Percy Jackson has ever endured can compared to the struggle I'm feeling right now.
This book was the perfect way to round off the series - I definitely didn't know how it was going to end, except, of course, that they would win. They always do. I'm always so impressed with the way Rick Riordan's books come together at the end, and I love all his prophecy stuff.
I saw Nico and Will coming, mostly because there's a new book coming out about them in May, but also because Rick was a bit heavy handed hinting at their forthcoming relationship. This is probably a good thing - sometimes you need to smack people in the face with things. This is the first gay rep he's given us, and it's nice to see him being so firm with it.
I really thought (for some reason, I can't explain why I thought this?) that Leo had given Festus the death cure to bring him back to life for the final battle, and was literally just going to accept his own death. I don't know why I thought this, instead of realising Leo had literally just rebuilt Festus?
But everything worked out so well for everyone - this is one of the reasons I love kids books. There might be some sacrifice, but on the whole, there's always a happy ending. I love that they've all ended up where they want to be - Piper and Jason at Camp Half-Blood, Hazel and Frank at Camp Jupiter, Percy and Annabeth planning to go to college (I really hope that happens for them). And Nico, finally feeling accepted, and deciding to let people in.
Also, Jason has glasses. Good for him.
I really hope that a future book(s) covers some of the stuff that still needs resolving. How much time has passed for Leo, and when will he let his friends know he's alive? And I'd love a Leo & Calypso adventure, they're a great pair. Is Hazel's curse gone now, and if so, when did that happen? Did I miss it, or is it still to come? And a demigod can't fix Reyna's heart - does that mean someone else will? A mortal, a monster, a god? Maybe her heart doesn't need fixing. Maybe the fix was inside her all along.

episode 2 thoughts
Why did he bring the painting to the airport? What was the plan? Thats not setting for showing someone a painting
Will “is that why you don’t have friends” Byers strikes again
Is Murray trying to keep this a secret or is he scared of teenagers? Both options work
Love Robin and Steves friendship and that it wasn’t dropped
Forgot about Bennys diner
Lucas needs better friends
Nancy is Lois Lane now get out of her way
I love that Max isn’t ruling out murder
Also enjoying this show a lot more without Billy in it
The lesson every season is to trust Joyce and yet
Just believe in the power of Winona Ryder
She did see a body for Will and she was still right that he was alive listen to Joyce
Hoppers mustache still amuses me
Are they grooming his facial hair for him why does he still have it?
I’m bored of the mean girl thing already
I don’t think Lucas’ main worry is being arrested at the moment although that's definitely up there I think he’s remembering when Will went missing and the party was pulled from class to talk to the cops
Jason is annoying but thats expected from a blonde man with a J name
Jonathan staying close to home makes so much more sense for who he is as a person
I do like that Jonathan is bringing back the I dont want to be my parents thing that he and Nancy talked about in season 1
The Byers family curse is communication and now El is a part of that
Props to Angela for quick coordination how did she get that set up so fast?
I love Joyce Byers
The army is already here
I get that they are trying to do satanic panic but I can’t take “devil cult” seriously
I also cant take Jason seriously hes very cartoonish
Yeah Lucas is pinning it on his little sister but what other option does he have
This man really loves to use death and grief for his own means
Which is creepier than the monster
Steve is his best when he is losing
I love when Nancy says something mean because its in such a rich girl way. I still love her its just funny
Hoppers hair is longer but not his mustache? were they trimming it for him? Its still shaped too
The Will and Mike scenes are tough to get through its awkward
They are really leaning into El being violent this season
Which has been a thing in all 4 seasons but still wasn’t expecting her to use a weapon
It was nice of Eddie and Rick to leave the light outside the boathouse on so they wouldn’t miss it
Them all swearing on Dustins mother instead of their own is a good joke my favorite kind
The bats and the house were all very Scooby Doo so whos are human monster? Is it Jason

Rick really had Hera, the Queen of the Gods, kidnap 2 leaders. Rick, WTF? That makes 0 sense. Hera fought in the Titanomachy, she’s Queen, she knows the effect that just one person can have, and all stealing the leaders would do would make the camps panic, because 2 super powerful demigods suddenly vanishing into thin air would cause mass panic regardless of personal feelings, but we know that CHB was actually worried about Percy as a friend and a person, not just a leader and fighter. Like, stealing two kids who played huge roles in their last battles (Jason and Krios, Percy and the Battle of Manhattan) would bring morale levels down to the Underworld. Hera may dislike her husband’s demigod children and she may not like Percy being born from cheating and him not being respectful, but she fought in a war and she’s still Queen and rules Olympus with Zeus, she wouldn’t risk jeopardizing the war and Olympus like that, especially if she truly had 10+ years to plan. She’d come up with a better plan that didn’t involve potentially alienating the camps and risking 2 powerhouses being killed before the war.
Hera is absolutely a Queen who would know the gravity of her actions. She might switch the leaders, but her doing it... without informing anyone? And the most of a hint she would give is to Annabeth in the form of a very vague dream mostly guiding her to the other leader?
And she never returned the memories taken either??? When going into a war where their knowledge and skills are vital? We still don’t know how much memory Jason regained, and Percy only got his back because of the Gorgon blood.
It’s just... it’s horrendous planning? And way more direct interference in their Fate than the Gods are generally permitted to do. Like- there’s a limit to what they can do without interfering with the Fates and that’s a big no-no. Outright taking them and switching them and removing their memories specifically to get things in place for the prophecy is- kinda one of those big no-no’s.
It could work if the Fates had given leave, or if Hera knew this was the Fate’s design, but Hera... isn’t connected to the knowing of Fate? Not like Zeus or Apollo, those two are directly referenced as knowing the Fate.
So it’s... weird...

Things I would change about HoO, a list that no one asked for:
(disclaimer: this probably isn’t a full list, because I haven’t reread HoH or BoO in years)
Get rid of the racism.
Get rid of the Frazel age gap.
This goes along with the above one, but I would make Hazel 16. This would keep her the same age as the rest of the crew (who are all 15/16), and it would mean that Nico once again had an older sister. The Bianca parallels are ripe for tragedy (which is why I think RR avoided it).
Slow down the romance. Frank and Hazel don’t need to be together. Jason and Piper shouldn’t be together straight out of the Lost Hero. Their relationship should build organically throughout the books, finally resulting in them getting together towards the end of Blood of Olympus.
No Calypso subplot. That was bad. Have Leo accept that he does not need a relationship in order to feel whole.
Nico’s forced outing is recognized as a moment of trauma. I have no issue with there being problematic elements in narratives, if they are recognized as such (see: the forced prostitution in The Hunger Games). There should be time and care to acknowledge that Nico had just experienced something traumatic at the hands of a god. Rather than just have this moment there to count towards diversity points, it could have furthered Nico’s arc in the books, as well as contribute to further conflict with the gods, the seven, and specifically between Percy and Nico (more on that in a minute).
Four of them should have died because of the “only 3 to a quest” rule.
When Percy and Annabeth make it to the Doors of Death, they are alone (no Bob, because that was bad and dumb), and they need to decide what to do. They ultimately decide that they aren’t going anywhere without each other, no matter how much one wants to save the other. They close the doors together, and stay in Tartarus.
Once they close the doors, Hazel begins to fade, as her soul is forced back to the Underworld. This is where House of Hades ends.
Now, the remaining four (Leo, Piper, Jason, and Frank), have to decide what to do. This would also allow for the “going back to original POVs” thing that Rick apparently wanted with BoO.
Returning the Parthenos should be the first half of Blood of Olympus, rather than their miracle cure quest. The four of them should have to bring it back to Camp Half Blood (just cut out the Reyna and Nico bit entirely). The second half of the book should be the battle. This also gets rid of the incredibly dumb “all the hunters are killed” plot point (seriously, what the fuck was that?)
The main problem is that they don’t know if Percy and Annabeth are alive or how long they will stay alive. This means, they don’t know if they should expect one more of them to die, or three more of them to die. There’s a real sense of suspense and dread over who is going to survive this.
Nico is sent to try and get Percy and Annabeth out of Tartarus. This is how he ends up almost fading from Shadow Travel and Underworld magic. This fading is complicated by the fact that it’s literally how he just saw Hazel die. It is also further complicated by the fact that he is going to save Percy, the boy he has just been forced to admit feelings for and who has, once again, kind of caused the dead of Nico’s older sister.
Nico saves Percy and Annabeth, they show up in time for the final battle, and the six rejoice, thinking that the quest is over and they all survived. Percy and Annabeth can barely be a part of the battle though, because they are nearly dead from Tartarus, as is Nico.
Except, it’s never that easy.
Jason goes down first, assassinated by Octavian (paralleling how Gwen almost died in Son of Neptune, and mirroring how he was actually killed in TOA, only now he dies in the series he belongs to.) Piper then kills Octavian with charmspeak, showing its full power. She asks his heart to stop beating, and it does. It’s the exact opposite of when she brought Jason back in The Lost Hero.
In a moment of final solidarity, despite their previous antagonistic relationship, Leo and Frank come up with a plan to deliver the final blow to Gaia. Frank turns into a Dragon, and he and Leo fly up to Gaia, essentially engulfing her in fire as the raise her off the ground to destroy her. The fire ends up brining the rest of Frank’s stick (tie that plot point up), and Leo is exploded and stays dead this time.
The war is ended, but cue some mad survivors guilt for Percy, Piper, and Annabeth.

Tumblr media
You and Leo are cooking in the kitchen
You have been all day
The doorbell rings, and Annabeth goes to answer, binder full of travel plans in hand
“That should be-”
Clarisse enters with a loud greeting and a hug to everyone in arms reach
Percy’s loud cheers echo from the living room as he calls out the new score of the football game he’s keeping everyone updated on
She drops her bag, hopping over the back of the couch to watch with Percy
“Woah woah, catch me up Jackson! What'd I miss?”
Hazel is helping Rachel make cute diy table settings and party favors
Rachel, as with most art projects she takes on, is very focused on making it Martha Stewart levels of cute and amazing
Frank and Piper are keeping everyone updated on the parade
Frank pops down the stairs, calling out, “The last performance just ended, the dog show starts in 5!”
Hazel drops what she's doing and exclaims, “THERE’S A DOG SHOW?!”
She runs upstairs to watch with Frank, her yellow dress swishing behind her
You chuckle, calling over to Annabeth as you mix batter in a bowl, " Hey Annabeth, how are the travel plans looking?"
She shuffles through some papers in her binder
"Magnus and Alex had another layover, but they should still be able to make it in time. Thalia and her hunter friend will be here in 10, and Travis's flight got delayed because of a sudden snow storm."
"Really?" You reply, "This time of year? That's pretty ironic for a son of Hermes..."
"I know, I'm looking at some shuttle services to see if that would be faster…" Annabeth replies
Nico enters, stealing a couple appetizers, "This is so stupid, I could just go get him."
Will, right behind him, eats the appetizer Nico hands him and replies, "No you can't. Doctors orders."
Nico starts to protest
Will shoots him a look
"Boyfriend's orders."
Nico tries in vain to stare him down,  "… Va’ a farti fottere." he says, cracking a smile
"Love you too," Will counters
You and Leo shoo them out of the kitchen before they steal more of your recipes
Jason and Grover walk by with a bunch of pillows and blankets, setting up guest rooms.
Grover calls through the pile of fluff he's carrying, "Hey, we're gonna need a few more pillows-"
Jason, over his pile of bedding, corrects, "A lot more!" And Annabeth runs over to help carry some of the blankets he's about to drop
"-A lot more pillows…"
You grab your keys
"okay uh… Grover, do you want to head to the store to get some more pillows-"
Leo, vigorously sautéing something adds over his shoulder, "And basil! And, uh… red wine vinegar, olive oil, and potatoes."
You rip a piece of paper off the notepad on the fridge and scribble a quick list
You're probably going to need some more ice, too
Tyson, very distressed, holds up an empty container of mellowcream pumpkins, declaring, "THERE'S NO MORE BABY PUMPKINS!" :(
you loudly add candy pumpkins to the list
Rachel approaches.
"Are you going to the store?"
"Yeah," you reply, "how's crafting going? You need anything? "
"We're almost out of glitter and mod podge. It's not looking good. We could use some more fake leaves, warm toned glitter, and rhinestones - the nice ones."
Grover looks slightly lost
You narrate as you add to the list, "Fancy rhinestones, mod podge, fake leaves, red, yellow, orange, and brown glitter…"
Tyson, still distressed, yells, "AND BABY PUMPKINS!"
:(
You hold up the paper, "Already on the list, bud, Grover's gonna get them!"
"What if he gets the wrong kind?" Tyson asks
You, turn to Grover quietly, "Grover, can you take Tyson?"
Grover nods
"Hey Tyson, Grover has a lot of stuff to get, could you go be his shopping buddy? That way you can pick out the right baby pumpkins."
He doesn't look convinced
He wants to keep working on a secret project he’s been doing out by the garage
"And…" you add, sweetening the deal, "you can get two candies for the way home."
He agrees
You turn to Grover; "I'll call you guys an uber-"
"I'll drive."
You all turn around, shocked to see Reyna awake.
You thought she was still passed out
She showed up at 9am and immediately fell asleep from traveling all night
"Reyna, hi! Are you sure-"
"We'll be fine, I need to stretch my legs a little." She proves by rolling her shoulders
"Okay, as long as you're sure," you hand her the paper, re-entering the kitchen
She takes the paper from your hand as you shut off the beeping timer and grab a pair of oven mitts from the drawer
Reyna examines the paper, "...This is a weird list. Where are we supposed to get all this?"
Leo moves to the side as you pull out the rolls from the oven, using tongs to set them on a wire cooling rack, "Maybe target?"
Leo, still very focused on cooking, announces, "If you get me generic brand spices I will burn this place to the ground."
"O-kay," you turn back to Reyna, laughing, "there's a Wegmans and a Joanne's right next to the TJ Maxx, you can probably find everything there."
"We'll be back within the hour." She states, taking your keys.
Rachel meets her at the door. "Here, use my card. Also, make sure you get the flat backed swarovski crystals. And please pick some glitter with a nice color shift!"
You remind them to call or text with any questions and be safe
Heading back into the kitchen, you fill up a big bowl with carrots, celery, cucumbers, and mushrooms
You grab two cutting boards, knives, peelers, and a plastic bag for the peels, tips, and tails
You set it all down on the coffee table in front Percy and Clarisse
“Can you guys get the relish tray started?”
They agree, and immediately return to yelling at the referee
You shake your head laughing, and head back to the kitchen
“How we looking, Sparky?”
“Stuffing cups just went up in the oven, pie crust dough is chilling, and the green beans are almost done sauteeing. Rolls are cooling - could you stir the cranberry sauce? - and… the turkey is going up as soon as the stuffing is out.”
You stir the sauce as you continue talking
“Great! We’re making good time so far. Oh, I found a recipe for brown sugar pie, which Frank requested - apparently it’s a Canadian Thanksgiving thing - so I figured if you’re doing turkey I can handle the pies.”
He pours some cooking wine into the pan, and shakes it as the alcohol burns off
“Sounds like a plan, babycakes.”
You laugh at the nickname, and grab butter, salt, some herbs, and a stick blender to finish the potatoes
A few minutes later, you hear the door open
Reyna and the boys are back already? That was quick
You wonder if they need help bringing groceries in
“Eeeey get over here you knucklehead!”
Bags drop, and you hear Jason laughing in protest
You poke your head out of the kitchen, and see Thalia with Jason in a headlock
In spite of the fact that he’s about half a foot taller than her, she’s still noogie-ing him, pretending she can’t hear him objecting through his laughs
She finally lets him go, greeting everyone as he adjusts his glasses
She bear hugs Annabeth, punches Percy in the arm, and high fives and hugs pretty much everyone else
You run up the stairs to the guest room Grover was setting up before he left
You finish making the bed head back down, meeting Frank and Hazel on the way
"Oh, Hazel, what did you think of the dog show?"
"It blew my wig!" She says giddily
A confused smile settles on your face
"It was awesome and she loved it," Frank translates smoothly
He and Will are understandably best at deciphering 40s slang
Thalia is introducing everyone to Amber, a girl she’d met on the hunt and become really close with
You greet her, and turn to Thalia
“Your room is all set up if you wanna get settled in,” you turn to Amber, “and yours will be ready soon,”
They share a look
“Oh,” Thalia starts grabbing their bags, “that’s fine, we can share a room. We share a tent on the hunt all the time, right Ambie?”
"Oh,”
And then it clicks
“yeah, however you’re comfortable.”
You grab one of the bags, and help them upstairs
“Why don’t you guys take a while to settle in, I’ll tell the others you’re resting.”
They thank you, and you start to leave
“By the way,” you poke your head back in, “you two seem really cute together. Welcome to the family, Amber.”
She blushes and Thalia gives you an appreciative look
You nod and head back down
You let the others know they’re going to nap for a little while, and not to wake them up
“Hey, any travel updates?” You ask Annabeth, on your way back into the kitchen
“Alex just texted, she and Magnus are finally on their way, should be here in the next few hours. As for Travis…”
She holds out her phone, showing you Travis’s tiktok
He’s filming the mirror in the airport bathroom
“So uh, my flight’s delayed, I’m bored, I’m gonna fuck with some people,” he holds out a hand full of stickers that look like outlets
He records himself putting them around the airport, then gets people’s reactions when they try to use them
He ends the video asking for more prank ideas
You look back up at Annabeth, holding back a laugh, “Seems like he’s doing okay,”
“Oh,” she replies, “that’s not all.”
She scrolls up, showing the next prank video where Travis goes around the airport having fake phone conversations to get people’s reactions
Conversation topics including ‘I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but slept with your grandma’, ‘hey bro I can’t come to the party, also turns out I’m going to be your stepdad’, ‘hey dude remember that old lady we used to cat sit for? Well, I found out I got chlamydia from her, so…’, and ‘yeah man, I’m so excited for the poetry slam. Also, it turns out my jazz fever is actually syphilis.’.
Your hand flies over your mouth, trying not to laugh loudly enough to wake Thalia and Amber
“Yeah,” Annabeth says, fighting her own laughter, “he’s doing okay.”
You start putting together ingredients for pie filling
“That is the most in character thing I could have imagined,” you laugh, and Annabeth shows Leo the videos
“There’s a bunch more, too,” she adds, “Around making tiktoks, he found a bus heading this way. He’ll be here in a few hours.”
“Cutting it close,” you muse, filling pies, “I’m glad he’s not stuck at the airport though. How about Connor?”
“Haven’t heard much from him, but he said he'll be here in time for dinner."
A little while later, Thalia and Amber re enter, joining Percy and Clarisse in the living room
The door opens shortly after, and Tyson enters, arms full of containers of candy pumpkins
Reyna and Grover are right behind him
You take Grover's bags, announcing that Thalia got here a little while ago
He bleats excitedly and runs to hug her, Reyna right on his heels
Piper and Tyson bring in the rest of the groceries
Tyson sets down the last bags in the kitchen, looks out the window, yells, "IT'S ALMOST SUNSET!", and runs back out into the back yard, presumably to finish his mystery project
Everyone eventually makes their way to the living room, nibbling on appetizers and watching classic Thanksgiving specials
The food is almost done, all that's left is decorating the pies and a little tidying up
You walk over to Leo, placing your hand on his shoulder
He looks up at you
"Why don't you go take a quick shower and change before dinner," you muse, knowing the hoodie and jeans he's been cooking in all day isn't the outfit he'd picked out, "I'll wrap things up in here,"
He thanks you, dramatically presses a kiss to your forehead, and exits the kitchen
You decorate the pies distractedly, catching the doorbell right before the second ring
You smile at the people about to enter
"Annabeth," you call, "Magnus and Alex are here!"
She drops what she's doing, and runs over to greet them
Leo is back down stairs a short while later
His brick red hoodie replaced with a burgundy one - his fancy hoodie as he calls it - a heavy flannel layered on top, and a beanie pulled over his almost dry hair
His pyrokinesis makes you forget how cold he gets sometimes
You're about to go upstairs to change out of your cooking clothes when Tyson enters dramatically
"The surprise is done!"
Everyone files outside to see what Tyson made as he leads you all out to the garage
Perfectly attached to the side, is a very small horse stable
"Wow!" Percy starts, "Great job, dude!"
Tyson is beaming as he's showered with confused praise
"So uh," Percy ventures, "what did you build it for?"
"Maybe something like this?!" Descending voices declare in unicen
Travis and Connor land in front of you on no other than Blackjack
Everyone erupts into cheers
“I thought you were stuck at the airport! What about those tiktoks?”
“Saved in my drafts, baby!” Travis laughs
Percy greets Blackjack and everyone else heads back inside with Travis and Connor
You run upstairs to shower quickly and change, and are back downstairs just in time for appetizers and drinks
You're about to take a sip of coffee when the door opens
An irregular set of footsteps echoes into the room, along with a familiar voice
"Ah, children, I hope there's room for one more,"
Everyone turns in surprise as Chiron enters the room
After lots of warm excited greetings and making sure he has a warm cup of tea, he settles in to chat for a while
"I was on my way to meet with my more, ah, rambunctious cousins, but I couldn't let a day like today pass without stopping by."
After two cups of tea and lovely conversations, Chiron heads out to meet up with the other party ponies
Thalia, Percy, and Will get all the food on the dining room table while Rachel makes the finishing touches to the centerpieces
Everyone finds their seat, and you make the first toast
"I think I can speak for everyone when I say I'm thankful for you guys - my found family."
Every glass is raised
You can all drink to that.
