And: Chapter 3 - The Masks

Author’s Note: Here we are! The final chapter! There was some delay, so thank you all for your patience!

Ladybug and Chat Noir stare at each other in frozen shock as their transformations time out. They’d both chosen the same alley, and there was no time to switch.

And suddenly it’s Marinette and Adrien in the alley, Tikki and Plagg watching silently.

“I-” Marinette chokes out. “I’m so sorry. I have to go.”

She rushes out without another word, her head down and shoulders drawn up as she brushes by Adrien. The blond lifts a hand toward her when she goes by, but pulls it back to his chest. He watches her go, then turns and walks the other way.

Tikki watches her Chosen sadly. The girl had rushed straight home and flopped onto her bed without another word. Not crying, but definitely shaking.

“Marinette, talk to me,” she prompts.

“What is there to talk about? He hates me now!”

“Why would he hate you?”

Marinette sits up, pushing herself off her pillow, then gestures at herself. “Because I’m me. Ladybug isn’t some hero! She’s just me.”

“You said the same to Chat Noir a while ago. What did he say then?”

She pauses, then looks away. “...he said we’re the same person.”

“And?”

“And he wants me to learn how to appreciate that.”

“So do you think he would hate you now? Just because he knows who you are?”

“Yeah, because I’m Marinette.”

“I disagree. How does Adrien feel about Marinette?”

She opens her mouth to say something about he probably couldn’t care less about her, then actually thinks.

And realizes, that at least in her mind, they’re actually friends. Adrien - socially deprived child that he is - probably would agree wholeheartedly with that statement.

She falls backwards onto her pillow, covering her face with her hands. “Oh nooooo, I’m an idiot.”

“You were overwhelmed by what happened. I don’t think that makes you an idiot, I think it makes you human.”

“An idiot human,” she groans. Then her body goes rigid, and she flies up, scrambling for her phone. “Oh no! He thinks I hate him!”

Tikki sits back. For now, her job is done.

Marinette: oh my kwami im so sorry

Marinette: i shouldnt have run off like that

Marinette: im honestly really happy that its you

Marinette: it was just so much at once and i was worried you would hate me and didnt want to see that because youre really important to me and im so so sorry

Adrien: yeah it definitely stung

Adrien: but plagg reminded me about your feelings about your identity so i kind of figured it had to do with that

Adrien: still had me worried though

Marinette: i know i know im so so sorry

Marinette: um maybe we can meet up for patrol later to talk

Marinette: give us both some time to process

Adrien: sounds like a plan princess

When Chat Noir lands on the roof, he’s immediately tackled in a tight hug by Ladybug. He barely manages to keep from falling over.

“I’m so sorry, mon minou.”

He returns the hug with a smile. “It’s okay, I understand.”

She finally steps back, looking at him with teary eyes. “No it’s not. I hurt you, even if you understand what happened now…”

“You aren’t, um, upset that it’s me, are you?”

“No!” Ladybug grabs his hands. “Never! There’s no one else that I would want to be my partner!”

“Okay.” He smiles. “Then I’m okay. No more apologies, m’lady.”

She looks as though she’s about to argue, then lets out a deep breath. “Fine. If that’s really enough, I’ll stop apologizing.”

He sits down against a wall, patting the spot beside him.

She sits there, smiling for a moment before it fades. “And, um, you aren’t… disappointed it’s me?”

Despite knowing how she feels about herself, he’s still surprised at how she can’t see how amazing she is. “Absolutely not. You’re wonderful, Bugaboo, your being you only makes you doubly awesome. I purr-omise.”

She gives him a small, but bright smile at that, then smacks him gently on the shoulder. “That was an awful pun.”

“Claw-ful?”

She giggles. “No!”

“Won-fur-ful?”

“Absolutely not!”

“Hiss-terical?”

“Nope.”

“Claw-ver?”

“Nuh-uh.”

“Purr-fect?”

“Kitty, I am paw-sitive that that was far from your purr-fect pun.”

He gasps in delight. “You punned!!”

“I shouldn’t have. Now you’ll never stop bugging me about-”

He gasps again, and it clicks.

“Hey wait! That one wasn’t purposeful!”

“Purr-poseful,” he whispers. His eyes are shining, and there’s a wide smile on his face.

“I’m just going to stop talking.”

He hugs her tightly, and she returns it begrudgingly. After a moment, he finally says, “Hey, does this mean we should delete that app?”

She hums. “Maybe we can just use it for hero business now.”

“Sweet.”

“You just liked the dumb nicknames, didn’t you?”

“Purr-haps.”

“I’m ignoring that, but we can change each other’s names to some equally horrible nickname for normal texting.”

“Even better!!”

Ladybug leans her head against his shoulder and smiles. “I’m glad it was you,” she says softly.

He leans his head against hers and takes her hand. “I’m glad too. I couldn’t ask for a better partner.”

She fights the blush rising on her face. “Neither could I. Partners, with or without the masks?”

He pauses. “And.”

She furrows her eyebrows. “What?”

“Partners, with and without the masks.”

A smile breaks across the girl’s face. “I like it.”

Author’s Note: Well, what do you think? I'm pretty pleased with it, though maybe one day I'll rewrite this. I don't know.

Now that this is finished, I'm going to try and post a one-shot about once a week - though that's very loose (trying to go easy on myself). For now, A Shy 'Sparrow' is on hold. I want to finish writing it before I start posting it again.

It's been lovely to be back and see you guys again! 💕💕💕

AND OMGGG I ALSO HAD GREY WOLF EARSSS- i have two! i got em at a water park and i brought it to school one day and was like "yknow what? yeah ima wear it" and all my classmates where like WOAHHHHHHH and im like- "im famous now? XDD" but wHAT your school didnt allow those? BU L L L L L

and yeah! and maybe after the uhh story event ends(???)) its going to have a freetime afterwards- IF- i am even willing to make it through and pull it off xDD

and BAHAHA YEAHH- MY poor friends- they had to sacrifice themselves for the sake of the blog- and one of my friendos messed around with me while i was trying to tell them what exactly to ask- I EVEN HAVE THE CONVO:

and omg- i love high school au and nonki au very equally- but for the nonki au: its basically henry living an carefree and fun life! lot of hanging out with friends and traveling ensues- xDDD i visualize the AU as a very soft and cute aesthetic- cause gosh- im a sucker for soft aesthetics XDD (oh my god- now i realize im just reALLy bad at explaining things so uhh sorry if you dont understand amything i say- xD) so far in the fanfic- the triple threat went to go get boba drinks and were about to hangout with reginald and right at a hotel near the beach! why? cause YES- xDD oh- and the AU is based off of my memories and own experiences- my family travels a lot (before covid of course ;0;) and those memories of traveling is just so fun to think about! so why not add those memories as the scenarios of my favorite characters and you get double the fun and happiness xDD

and the high school one- pretty self explanatory xD but one thing i did is that the ages of the characters dont change- so they are like adults- you may ask how tf are adults in high school- BAHA- I DUNNO- this woulda actually been a college au or smth but high school just sounds more simplier and more anime vibes- i cant help it XDD

i'm not trying to clown you or anything, but i'm just genuinely curious as to why you bias sunwoo now? like what do you love about him and all? if i'm not mistaken, you used to be hyunjoon-biased correct?

hello! god bless this ask :’) i was waiting for someone to allow me to be absolutely gr0ss and gushy about my sunshine : (

and yes! you are correct :’) i used to be very hyunjoon biased! but if i were to make a comparison,,, hyunjoon was really just a crush but sunoo is the one i really fell for. anyways gush under cut cuz i doubt anyone cares

so if i have to be honest, i “fall in love at first sight” w groups. usually the person i notice first becomes my bias. theres always one defining feature i usually fall in love with. so usually i tend to bias dancers (ex. ten, taemin, chaeyeon, wooyoung, san, etc etc) but with tbz i had exposure to them since boy and had been following their music since debut, but not the group.

Not until no air dropped did i really begin to fall in love w them. I had a lot of trouble picking a bias w tbz, which is very rare for me but i also think its because i had a ton of exposure to them before. in the boy mv i think the ones that stood out to me were sunwoo hyunjoon and jacob. In giddy up i considered joining the fandom (bc legendary song omg) and the ones that stood out in that mv were sunwoo chanhee and changmin. unluckily for me, i didnt end up getting into the fandom until no air dropped and i spent over a week picking a bias between hyunjoon, sunwoo, changmin, and kevin (as u can see its not that surprising i fell for sunwoo lol,,, it was just a matter of time) anyways, it was a long week but hyunjoons smile really just,,,,,, sold me

like cmon are you kidding me look at that he has the prettiest smile on earth and i still stand by that opinion. and after really investing myself in tbz, i found myself loving his unique dance style. the way he presents himself is so genuine and different from what i usually prefer in dancers. My favorite dancer is by far Ten and my brain auto compares dancers to him but with hyunjoon,,, the style was just so different that it was impossible to compare the two. So yeah I still love hyunjoon a lot! its just,,,, i love sunoo more

tbh i have no idea when i started falling so hard for kim sunwoo. it really just came gradually,,, and thats super strange for my “love at first sight” aries venus :’) though i dont remember exactly what moment made me start swerving, i know his lyrics and rap style played a big part in me becoming the biggest sunoonator on this earth. His first verse in 4EVER is by far the best thing i have ever heard (and in an interview he also said those lines were some of his favorite lyrics hes written!!!

another thing that really swayed me was the bday prank. that clip made me pay so much more attention to him when before i was one track minded on hyunjoon. but seeing him just break down when he realized those he loved weren’t actually fighting showed me how genuine he was. by paying more attention to him, i really just,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, swooned for that dorky smile of his (example below bc i want to c’:)

and his overall quirkiness.

something ive also been loving and noticing recently is his absolute hatred for skinny jeans LOL and same. I literally wear joggers every single day bc i cant be bothered. Sunwoos fashion looks so comfortable and he pulls it off so well! its something i can appreciate and love

and the final thing. this is probably the biggest reason i absolutely love love love him! its the way he interacts and treats his fans. idk if you follow the fancafe but sunwoo updates the most out of all of the members. He basically writes in the fancafe every single day, even if its as simple as “deobis what are you doing?” and no matter what, hes always talking about deobis in his updates and almost always reminds us that he loves us! theres one fancafe letter he wrote that i have bookmarked and saved and its the one where he literally starts off by saying that hes awake at 5:20 am (iirc this was after TFMAs where they won the next leader award) bc he cant sleep and he just pours out his late night (or in this case early morning lol) thoughts and its just him talking about his career and how he is so honored to be able to perform on the same stage as his seniors. he also talks about how he is so grateful to deobis and begins explaining his thoughts about the relationship between artists and their fans and how beautiful he finds this relationship. and he continues to describe what kind of singer he wants to be: a loveable singer who can cheer others up. he said that deobis are the ones who helped him become the person he is today and how he always will be sincere to deobis that cheer for him :’(( this is a super dumbed down ver of his letter bc my korean isnt extremely good but he basically ends by saying he’ll continue to improve for deobis and that he really loves us :( this letter was then posted around an hour later at around 6 am :( so he basically spent an hour writing a letter to deobis at the crack of dawn just bc he wanted to tell us his thoughts,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i rly,,,,,,,, im so sad hes the sweetest :(

oh also special creds to @jushaknyeon (especially this hakkjae clown), @noairmv, and @hwqll for clowning me so hard into finally biasing him love u guys sm lol

this is probably way way way more than what you were expecting but i really needed to let it all out :’) i love him to the end of the universe and back! and im pretty sure this time hes just going to be stuck with me :’) (his loss lmao)

Official SHINee World Toronto Fan Account (Nit Picky Vers)

This is my official fan account of the entire show :D Unfortunately I do not remember 100% when each account happened for each song, so I will put which set the accounts happened in and if I remember the name of the song it will be stated.Also also Im gonna leave out things that can be found in fancams or other fan accounts. This fan account is also my personal experience and interpretations and their might be other expressions of the same event being posted so make sure to read all the shawols fan accounts.

*This fan account begins from the lining up and ends with me sitting in my seat at the end realizing that my life will never be as good as it was in those moments with shinee in the venue, thats the time line. It also includes as much detail as possible from SHINee themselves to the lit AF female security guard. Also of course my witty commentary sorry not sorry

While waiting in line 3/4 back up dancers exited the stage door to smoke. For some reason none of the fans in line recognized them (honestly I went to the concert by myself and everyone else was in a group with their friends talking between themselves) The back up dancers seemed surprised by the line (the line wrapped around the venue 1 1/2 times it was huge) and it seemed like they were talking about that.

The organizers for the event were going around the lines with their phones taking footage of the line and kept saying that SHINee was going to see the footage. With this in mind of course I milly rocked every time and dabbed. It was my homage to Minho (as in I hope he sees it, is like “yo someone dabbed” and then dabs! Any dream is worth having dont judge me)

While waiting for things to start the security guards were explaining how we cant take pictures and not to push and to stay safe. There was this one lit female security that said to me and the people sitting around me “You guys really think we would let you minors in the same room with your favorite boy band and not have a mom here to monitor you guys?? Well guess what guys Im a mom and this is my house so my rules!!” She was joking of course but it was so funny she was honestly so lit.

Fans also gave this security guard some fan merchandise and she was participating with the fans during the concert.

Behind me were the Japanese Fansite masters that organized the donation of the fan lights. They gave me and the people around me that didnt have fan lights merch from different tours. I got a fan light from the 2014 Im Your Boy Japanese Tour and a Onew note pad.

One of the Japanese fansite masters were wearing Jonghyuns X-Inspiration sweater (the official merch!) and I asked her if she went to his concert. She got so happy that I recognized it and said yes! She then gave me a Jonghyun hand held mirror after asking me if Jonghyun is my ultimate bias in SHINee (I said yes of course lol cause he is perfect holy shit)

The first VCR was not working lol. The first time the video would cut out but the audio would keep going. They got half way through the VCR before restarting it :/ And then the same thing happened the second time. At this point everyone just wanted to get to SHINee so some people around me were saying to skip the VCR. The third time it worked though.

In the first set Taemin was having trouble with his microphone and went to stage left to get it fixed. He hopped back into the choreography so easily!

Also in the same set, Onew was having problems with his microphone and was making these signals to stage left, it looked like some cute signage going on.

There was a lag between SHINee and the video capture on the screen :/ it was a bit distracting but actually looked cool at parts too.

During the first Talk Segment Minho said “Welcome to SHINee WORLD!!!” In English. (Thats when I knew that it was the beginning of the end)

They made Taemin introduce Prism in English and the boy deadass looked so betrayed lol. He finally said “Next song is, Prism” after giggling a bunch!

When SHINee had to restart Prism because of the technical difficulties, Key said “Lets take it from the top” and booped himself on the /top/ of the head! (lol get it /top/ as in lets take it from the /top/ HA! GENIUS I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!)

Near the end of the first set, the female mom security guard passed by me and I (being a nerd) milly rocked at her lol. She did it back though and we danced together for like, 30 seconds! She is definitively a SHINee fan now!

Taemin was dancing exceptionally well during Prism. I got the feeling that he really really likes the choreography for that song. It was so beautiful!

Then when they had to wait a second to restart Prism again Onew said in English “Not yet” super cutely and Jonghyun started saying “We need your voice! We need your voice” in English.

There was a lot of OnHo going on through out the first set it was amazing they are truly the terrible two.

When Jonghyun was apologizing for the technical difficulties, the crowd starting chanting “It’s Okay” in Korean. We said it so much that Jonghyun put his hand up as in to shoosh us lol. He looked overwhelmed by our support :D

During one of the songs in the second set, Jonghyun was in the front for his line, but when trying to back up to go to the back of their formation, he almost tripped over Taemin. It didnt seem to phase him and he was so professional!

Throughout the Talk Segments Jonghyun would say “Yes” in English and it was so cute and out of nowhere omg

Also throughout the show there was a fan behind me screaming bloody murder it was awesome but also the people around her myself included were so concerned lol. She sounded like she was being dragged away by the void and the last thing she wanted to do was scream Jonghyuns name.

Also fans were cheering for Onew but instead were saying Jinki. Onew looked a bit surprised by this. Im not sure if in a good way or in a bad way though.

During ready or not, Minho was saying “Jump Jump Jump” and of course everybody got super lit!

Also also Minho was trying to get Taemin to jump along with him but Taemin was not feeling it. He was super tired at the concert :( (But honestly for someone who was so tired he did super freaking well like again its not fair im actually going to sue I have my lawyer on the phone right now)

During the third set SHINee threw the famous SHINee Balls to the crowd. Minho made an extra effort to throw them as far as he possibly could!

Also during Ready or Not Key went to stage far right (past the speakers) and blew a kiss to one of the fans :D (you know she dead tho like rip)

In the last set there was a really quick transition from one song to the next, and SHINee didnt have time to go back to center stage for the song and had to rearrange themselves. However, they didnt rearrange themselves immediately. They gradually got into the proper positions while performing the song. Again, so professional!

The white confetti near the end was cut to look like white rose petals they were gorgeous! It honestly looked like a scene from a movie.

During the last song, Encore, Taemin was a bar (or 3 seconds) too early for his line and all you heard from him was a small “eh” and then he waited and sang in the proper time. It was so cute!!!

When they were leaving, the crowd was moaning in upset and Key teased us by moaning back at us!!

Lastly, when the lights came back on and SHINee World Concert 5 Toronto had officially ended, Im sitting in my seat looking around at the fans and the confetti and streamers on the floor, im taking in everything that happened, my final reaction was to burst into tears LOL.
