#I've made a proper cake in a similar fashion. subbed applesauce in place of oil and eggs. cake of apples and flour. it worked out great.

apple cobbler COMPLETE. it's dairy-free so that the person with an allergy can enjoy a snackum with everyone else. but also this means that in place of butter in the topping, I used applesauce. yet another '90% apple by volume' baking product by me. it's so easy to do.
