It's left in a noticeable spot: a single piece of candy and a note. He had tried ( and nearly failed several times ) to keep it out of reach from others, her favorite now safely in her room. The note was short and sweet and to the point. 'Don't let anyone see this. I told them I ate it already.' ( march & dan heng )

After a much deserved evening of tricks, treats, and everything in-between, there was nothing better than a full night's rest! (then there's the after, wherein you give up candy for a weekend, decide it's too addictive, and revert back as soon as humanly possible) With a jaw-cracking yawn and a plentiful stretch, March toed her door shut with a metallic click... however, upon opening her sleepy eyes, a faint glow illuminating her bedroom broke off her yawn. Hadn't she turned off her light before leaving for the evening?
Suddenly, talks that she and the rest of the Express' occupants rang about in her head: tales of ghastly ghosts, vengeful spirits, and fuzzy towering creatures seized her still. No, something like that couldn't get on the Astral Express... could it? Determination puffed out her cheeks, and March stood resolutely with her hands upon her hips!
“Hey! If you think you can get a rise out of me, you've got another thing coming!”
A swinging glance left to right. Nothing shifted; nothing out of the ordinary. Footsteps light against the floor, March eased closer, closer to the source of the light, having to remember to look off here and there, 'lest her eyes be toast for minutes after the fact, and stood still right before it. Oh, right, look away... look down.
Huh?
When did this get here?
“Maybe if you leave farewell gifts like this... having a ghost as a roommate won't be such a bad thing, after all.”
Plucking the card from behind the treat, her twilight gaze swept over the wording... familiar wording, along with familiar penmanship. Oh.
Oh... so it wasn't a ghost.
Dan Heng had left her something? She, in truth, couldn't recall when she had mentioned such a detail, her countless sugar rushes washing over any concrete thought, but it was true: in all its glory, her favorite candy, its wrapper untouched and even full-sized! Ever since the mini variant arose, March hadn't got the chance to swipe up the originals in-between Trailblazing missions!
Perhaps it was due to the exhilaration still alive in her veins, or the slight heat this lamp gave off, but her cheeks felt awash with warmth. Picking up the treat with a grin, rather than eating it straight away, March opted for uncharacteristic patience - a treat best savored after a grueling day, or for a special occasion. After what had happened on the Xianzhou, Dan Heng had appeared dazed. Out of it, crammed up inside his room for days on end.
... But he had remembered her favorite candy and had spent the holiday alongside her.
Right at the base of her collage sat the treat, a perfect centerpiece. He would likely question her about it, should he rudely stomp into her room -- but this could remain her little secret, at least for now.
