Why am I friends with you?

You ask Kenma to buy condoms with you in preparation of your special night with your boyfriend Kuroo

There are so many. SOOOOO MANY. Why? There's flavored ones, ribbed ones, for her ones, extra thick, latex, extra lubed...

They cover the entire wall. In the family planning section. Which is odd, because isn't this supposed to prevent families?

"Can you please hurry?" Kenma mutters, his eyes strictly trained on the ground. "I don't want anyone to see me here."

"I don't want anyone to see me here either, okay?" You hiss back at him, before you turn back to the wall and attempt to decipher what the hell you're supposed to be getting.

"Then pick one!"

See...that's where the problem is. That's what forced you to call him. Because you'd never done anything with Kuroo before, and tonight...you wanted to surprise him, so you needed to be prepared. But you didn't know anything about guys'...more specifically Kuroo's junk...so you figured Kenma would--

"Stop staring at me like that, I'm not joining you two."

You splutter, not even realizing your eyes had fallen on your rather handsome friend. "That's totally not what I was-- look, I don't know which ones to get."

The shorter man fixes you with such a look. He could've been anywhere, like in his room, playing his video games, but because he's a good friend he drove over to accompany you to the store when you called him on the verge of a panic attack. Little did poor Kenma Kozume know you wanted to buy fricking condoms... for you and his best friend. That's not an image he wants to have.

At all.

So understand why he's so grumpy when he says deadpan: "And what? I'm supposed to know?"

"Didn't you guys like... y'know...in the locker rooms?''

Kenma doesn't even dignify that with a response.

You sigh and turn back to the wall, then scan through all of them and pick out a regular. Practically snatching it off the wall so that no one would dare think you and your boyfriend carry out safe sex. You like your status as a dare devil, thank you very much.

"Alright, you can stop pouting, let's go get you the ice cream sundae I promised."

But Kenma doesn't move.

"Uh, Ken?"

The best way to describe his expression is the pure feeling of yearning to be unmade. The absolute doom and gloom on his face is like none you've ever seen before, it's so much worse than when Kuroo tries to sing (which is a beautiful sight). And he's rooted in his spot.

"You.." He forces the words out of his mouth, looking anywhere but at you. "You got regular?"

You look down at the small blue box, with REGULAR printed in black along the front. "Uh, yeah? Why, what's up?"

He lets out a strained sigh, before taking a black box from the wall. "This one." He pulls it off faster than you did. So that no one would dare know that he was helping his friend pick condoms for his best friend who he TOTALLY DOESN'T KNOW THE EXACT SIZE OF. He's gotta keep his reputation of nonchalance, my dude.

Kenma shoves it in your hands. The word LARGE in golden letters almost makes you choke on your spit.

"Let's go." And with that he hightails out of there, leaving you shocked, stunned and weirdly excited for your night with Kuroo.

anywayyy I was playing with my brother's hair and I just thought about how Nekoma would react to y/n playing with their hair 🥺

Kenma absolutely loves it, he doesn't say anything though 😭 he's probably playing on his psp or whatever lol

Their. Fursonas. Excellent. I'm gonna answer this the boring way and the fun way.

Some of the teams have an animal mascot, and the show includes the characters as these animals in some of the cute little mid-episode bumpers. Observe Crow!Hinata and Cat!Kenma and Kuroo. Adorable.

Now for the unhinged answer. I've never really assigned fursonas before so I'm flyin' by the seat of my pants. It might be a little hard to divorce some of em' from their anime-assigned animals. Also I'm only doing the brainrot characters to keep this as short as possible, lol.

Asahi: Elephant. Gentle giant, but lord have mercy if you manage to piss him off.

Nishinoya: he's a mongoose. Small and ferocious. And adorable.

Kuroo: I can't see him as anything not cat-like, so he's a black panther. Sleek; a little intimidating if you don't know what you're dealing with. But underneath the piercing glare is just a big, silly cat.

Bokuto: He's a ring-tailed lemur. Yes partially because of the coloring but also the personality matches, too :P

Akaashi: River otter. Unbothered. Vibing. Let him float aimlessly, he's earned it.

you and sakusa absolutely don’t get along and gave each other bad first impressions especially since your first meeting was at your engagement party

you both desperately try to break off the arranged marriage and piss off your respective parents, but in the process, feelings ensue

“this is it, we’re no longer engaged,” you say to the man beside you. his mask still covers half of his face and you’ve come to familiarise yourself with the almost perpetual frown he has.

“oh, come on! we’ve done so much and come so far and you’re still all grumpy!” you laugh, your hand reaches out almost instinctively, fingertips brushing against the wrinkle between his brows.

“s-sorry…” you stutter, retracting your hand quickly once you’ve realised what you’ve done. “that was an accident but i swear i’ve washed my hands.” you hold up both your hands in a surrendering gesture.

what shocks you however is that sakusa laughs.

his laugh is nothing but short huffs of air but you can see his eyes bend into cheery crescents as he nods, “i know,” he answers.

you feel your heart rate pick up as heat rises to your cheeks because goddamn does he have a nice laugh.

there’s a beat of silence as you find yourself locked in a staring contest with sakusa. his eyes don’t leave yours even as he pulls down his mask and takes a step closer to you.

you notice that his cheeks are flushed pink and there's a slight tremble to his bottom lip as he speaks.

"i know it's weird that we just broke off our engagement ten seconds ago but… would you go on a date with me?"

your creepy ex has been following you around, begging you to take them back WHILE in public

desperate to get away you grab the tall and quiet guy in front of you and beg him to pretend to be your boyfriend for five minutes and he obliges almost too easily and thanks to his intimidating stature he scares your ex away

but it turns out the entire school saw and now the two of you are being dubbed ‘couple goals’ and ushijima’s rabid fans are mad.

a deal is quickly struck between you two. he keeps your creepy ex away from you, and you keep his over-enthusiastic fans away from him.

“quick, hide!”

you’re shoving ushijima into the nearest hiding space you could find, which just so happens to be a janitorial closet, but he trips over a mop and brings the both of you crashing down.

your palms are stinging from the impact of your fall but you’re suddenly acutely aware of how you were half-laying on top of ushijima as he let out a pained groan.

“are you alright?” you manage to squeak out, trying your best to ignore the loud pounding of your heartbeat as it resonates in your ears.

“i’m fine, are you?” he asks. his deep voice sends tingles down your spine and you can only blush harder as he brushes your hair out of your face and gently tucks in behind your ear. his eyes rove over your face, assessing you for any injuries.

you swallow thickly as you nod in response to ushijima’s question, hyper-aware of how warm his hand is on your waist as he keeps you steady on top of him.

if it weren’t for the smell of cleaning products you would’ve considered this moment to be the most heart-fluttering moment of your life.

you’ve been neighbours with keiji for as long as you can remember and you’ve never felt any semblance of romantic love for him

it isn’t until he asks you for help in changing his wardrobe in order to impress his crush then you realise he’s very attractive

you can’t help the blushing and butterflies in your stomach every time you look at him and it hurts that it’s not you he’s dressing up for

“keiji? what are you doing here? what about your date?”

you’re in a state of mild panic as your neighbour-turned-crush stands at your front door with a bouquet of flowers in his hand and the outfit you had picked out for him earlier in the day.

you’re frozen in your tracks, still in your embarrassingly cartoonish pyjamas as you stare at keiji as if he had just grown an extra head.

"you're the one that's missing," he explains, his tongue darts out to wet his lips and you feel like you've ascended to cloud nine.

your gaze flickers between kenma on your right and kuroo on your left. the both of them are glaring at each other, chests rising and falling rapidly from the shouting match they were previously engaged in before you had stepped in.

kenma turns away first to meet your eyes. his gaze softens immediately as it lands on you and he gives you a small smile.

you barely had the time to smile back before warm fingers were wrapped around your left wrist, gently tugging you to face kuroo instead.

your breath hitches in your throat when you lift your head to meet kuroo's gaze. his hazel eyes practically bore into your soul as he stared at you wordlessly, lips pressed into a thin line. but you knew him well enough to read the anguish in his eyes.

"let go," you hear kenma speak from your right. his voice low and threatening.

his thin fingers feel cold around your wrist and you feel your heart sink further into the pits of your stomach.

how could you choose between the two?

"please... stop," you begin with your head hung low.

"i choose both of you."

uhhhh idk what i'm doing this is kinda just brainrot so...

content warnings: uhhh fem!reader, a peck?? can be interpreted as platonic or romantic idk whatever u want?? implied that kenma is borrowing ur clothes but ig that's it <3

pls enjoy this i wrote it off the top of my head instead of working on literally anything and everything...

kenma can't believe you dragged him into this. it took a whopping offer of an apple pie, two new video games, and convincing kuroo to let kenma skip a day of practice for him to agree, but now he's standing in front of you, humiliated, donned in one of your crop tops and a skirt.

"i look ridiculous." kenma murmurs under his breath, rolling his eyes when you giggle and beg him to let you take a picture.

"please kenma!! just one little picture? one teensy little picture please i promise i won't show anyone!! you just look so good!! please i'll even stop calling you annoying nicknames just let me take a picture!!" at this point you're on your knees begging the setter to let you take even a single picture of him in a skirt to remember the moment.

"kenma!" you squeal and shoot up out of excitement (rip ur knees tho lol). "thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!!" you wrap your arms around him and peck his cheek. "ahhhh you look so good!! smile kenma!" you take the picture and gush over him, oblivious to the faint blush on the boy's face.

a/n: hey guys! @booksandhoneymilktea I kinda mixed your request with a brainrot I've been experiencing with this specific queen song! Hope you enjoy this! Let's get started.

Your relationship with kenma was… complicated, to say the least.

You transferred in to his second-year class in the middle of the year. You expected that people already had their cliques so you just took out your DS and started playing some good old pokemon to pass the time in between classes.

After a few days of being alone in your own little bubble, a boy with blonde hair with black roots approached you, in his hand was his blue PSP. "can I sit next to you?" he asked, his voice soft and quiet. You nodded and you watched as he dragged a nearby chair to sit beside you and played his game, glancing over your shoulder to see what you were up to from time to time.

This was the start of your relationship.

Kenma invited you to his volleyball practices everyday and told you that you can sit in the corner and watch his console for him while he trained. He would always join you in that corner so you could game in silence. He would glare at the tall, half-Russian boy, Lev, when he got too noisy and broke your train of thought.

Soon, his childhood friend, Kuroo, caught Kenma's interest in you. Every time the captain sees you with his pudding head friend, you would hear him humming and dancing to himself. "Ooh~ love, ooh~ loverboy." Kuroo sang out loud for the tenth time that week, nudging kenma and working him up. Kenma only rolled his eyes before taking your hand and pulling you out of his vicinity.

That only proved Kuroo's suspicions.

You really didn't mind. Kuroo and kenma were just joking around. They weren't serious, Right?

Right?

The very same day, kenma invited you to a sleepover at his place. You didn't really have anything else planned so you said yes. You've been there a lot of times already so you didn't feel any different when Kenma's mom opened the door for you, hugged you then told you that you head up to his room.

You knocked then opened the door to see Kenma on his pc with his video cam on, skyping with Kuroo and Lev. "hey kenma." you whispered, dropping your bag on his bed then approaching his set up to wave at the camera.

You both watched as Kuroo scrambled on his screen and played something that made Kenma groan and take off his headphones. "what is it?" you asked as you strained your ears from where you stood to hear the same song he kept dubbing as your 'theme song', playing on blast.

Ooh, love, ooh, loverboy

What're you doin' tonight, hey, boy?

Set my alarm, turn on my charm

That's because I'm a good old-fashioned loverboy

You giggled at kenma's pout before you jumped onto his bed and got comfortable, taking out your own console and continued with your game.

After all, Just being in his presence was enough for you.

You both sat in silence for a few hours. the only sounds interrupting the ambiance were Kenma's incoherent grumbling into his mic and the soundtrack of the current pokemon town you were in.

"for the last time, Kuroo, I am not confessing to her." Kenma slightly raised his voice, you perked up. Does he like someone? Who could it be? You told him that you would support him through anything.

So you didn't get why your heartfelt heavy when kenma revealed that he liked someone.

After a few minutes, kenma said a slurred and sleepy farewell before he left the call and turned his setup off. He looked back to see you still playing your game. His eyes then moved to glance at the clock. 1 am it read. The boy plopped down beside you, watching your screen sleepily.

"so…" you blurted out after a few minutes. Kenma hummed in acknowledgment, telling you that he was listening even though he was already half-asleep. "who was the lucky girl Kuroo was bugging you to confess to?" you asked, trying to make it sound casual as if you weren't feeling your heart clench at the thought of him falling for someone else then drifting away from you.

Kenma just sighed before he shifted. "you. He was bugging me to tell you what I feel. I'm not ready yet." he thought aloud before his eyes closed completely and his breathing evened out.

What did he just say?

You felt your face heat up, burying your head into your console. He was just sleepy. no way in hell he liked you, you thought. You turned your game off and laid down next to him.

The last thing you saw was his neutral face turning up into a smile, you felt warmth envelop your figure, drifting you off to sleep.

Kenma woke up, the pillow he rested on felt softer than usual. He took a deep breath, your scent wafting around him. His eyes confusedly fluttered opened to see you. His head on your chest as you played your game, your hand running through his hair. You were singing a familiar song under your breath. It made him smile and his cheeks glow a dark red.

"Ooh, love, ooh, loverboy

What're you doin' tonight, hey, boy?

Write my letter

Feel much better

And use my fancy patter on the telephone"

He sat up and rubbed his eyes, trying to hide the big grin on his face. That didn't go unnoticed with you. You were about to play it off when you realized what you've been doing ever since you woke up. You blushed darkly, "i-I'm sorry! I was stunned with what you said last night and then you cuddled into me and-" you rambled but kenma cut you off by placing his finger on your lips.

What the hell did he say before he went to bed last night?

All he remembered was watching you play then he heard your inquisitive tone that drifted him off to sleep. He dug deeper into his mind when he finally remembered.

"who was the lucky girl Kuroo was bugging you to confess to?"

"you. He was bugging me to tell you what I feel. I'm not ready yet."

Fuck.

He knew that his face looked like a tomato. He buried his face into his hands. He confessed to you in one of the worst possible times. You scrambled to sit next to him. Patting his back sympathetically. "it's fine, kenma. I know you didn't mean it. You were half asleep and-" you tried to say only to get cut off when he grabbed onto you by the arms and pulled you to look straight into his golden eyes.

"I wasn't delusional. I know what I said." he said, unable to keep it in any longer. "it was all true. I wanted to confess to you. I just wasn't ready because I didn't know if you even liked me back at all so pushed that thought away. Then I ratted myself out. I didn't want to confess and overwhelm you like that and I'm-" he continued to confess but you stopped him by pressing your lips onto his. When you felt him stiffen up, you got terrified that he didn’t like it so you were about to pull away when he kissed you back, keeping his lips there until you both needed air.

"i-I don't-"

"I like you a lot, kenma. I have for a long time and your words made me realize that. Thank you." you smiled at him, pulling him into a kiss one more time.

"I guess that means I'm your lover boy now?"

"That was so cheesy, kenken~"

Kenma has never felt more embarrassed.

Fun things: today I was hit HARD by ennoshita brainrot (yes I am an ennoshita lover to answer ur question from your answer in the ask game) and I just want to hang out with him and be domestic with him. Just lay in the same room with a movie we're both half-paying attention to, and sometimes he'll be like "omg watch this part" for a scene and then ramble about some fun fact about the production or the actor or something about lore of the movie, and I'll do the same ;___;

Other fun things: I'm playing animal crossing new horizons again. What chars do you think would have the most organized, decorated island with the best themes, and which would have the most wilderness and disorganized didnt even try island?

stop I just wrote an extremely long paragraph being super nostalgic about my film classes in the context of ennoshita and then accidentally deleted it somehow thanks tumblr but the jist was that he’s so unpretentious and it’s not him teaching you it’s just both of you nerding out together which I love🥰and it’s so great bc you’ll take separate classes but come back and watch the movies together and report to each other on every little thing you learned!! And you support each other thru the endless rewatches necessary to write your essays & discussion posts I literally wrote a whole thing ab how ennoshita has to write ab the searchers and you find it so corny the 2nd or 3rd time thru but you keep watching it w him to be supportive lol, and likewise you both are crying your eyes out rewatching the ending of in the mood for love for you to write your discussion post I’m very angry at tumblr for deleting that lol and omg if there’s a special guest for one of your classes you both campaign SO hard for the other to get to come to the lecture, and if they can’t you watch some of the guest’s movies & relay in such detail to each other everything they talked about with the production, the editing, whatever it may be. ok I honestly think I’ve probably reproduced the majority of what I typed the first time. ugh. film student lovers w ennoshita, be still my small heart.

Hahahahahah on the animal crossing topic, this is just a list of ppl popping into my mind. Oikawa has a freaking gorgeous island, same with yachi. Makki’s is sooooo disorganized and kyoutani’s is probably also a mess but he doesn’t care ab how it looks he’s just glad nobody knows he plays. I feel like hinata & Noya would also have kinda garbage islands bc they don’t have the patience for it even tho they want to try lol. Kageyama probably tries briefly before he also loses patience and his results are….. ehhhhh😂😂😂 asahi’s looks great tho. Suga’s too. OSAMU’s is great and Atsumu is extremely jealous bc his is a flop. Probably Suna’s is pretty good too & he also makes fun of Atsumu but watch out suna what if some… catastrophic mistake… happened…….. what if you experienced some dreadful….. sabotage???? Tendou’s island is fantastic. He puts so much care into fictional worlds and no one can convince me otherwise. Gets the game for ushijima who has no clue what he’s doing, but actually is trying for his friends sake, so his islands mediocre. Futakuchi’s is terrible and embarrassing and frustrating to him despite all his best efforts lol. Kenmas is obviously stellar. Daichi tries so hard but he just doesn’t have the designers touch like suga lol. Kuroo just pesters kenma for help but it mostly just annoys kenma lol so kuroo kinda still ends up w his looking a lil blah. Terushima’s is surprisingly really good—he spent all his time working on it instead of actually doing his hw. I should shut up now I don’t know why I started just rattling off everything I thought of oh my word lol

true beauty is based off the webtoon! they took some liberties with the drama since the webtoon isn't finished yet, but i thought it turned out really well! ahh i was an avid reader too! i was following lore olympus, siren's lament, and purple hyacinth on a weekly basis but they all went on a hiatus around the same time and i never got back to it :')

and I am so invested in jjk right now...i'm not a manga reader but honestly considering picking it up bc it's torture waiting a week for a new episode. your occasional posts about the manga also make me want to start reading!! that fight scene in ep 19.....when they zoom into yuuji's eyes i was like !!! here we go it's gonna get crazy

GIRL if you pick up the manga... i promise you will not regret it. if you do somehow end up regretting it, i’ll personally venmo you $20 - i am not joking, come to my dms and let me know. i think every character has a well-developed background (even if there are some pieces i wish gege would expound upon) and the foreshadowing is Exquisite. ngl, i have been trying to hold myself together, but i’ve never felt more strongly about a group of characters... might’ve even bought merch.
