also idk enough about music and how this works to explain it but there's a very specific way Pete Wentz plays bass and it's so fun to single out in a song and listen to it
#it's almost like... stuttered and at the same time melodic#like he plays individual melodic notes a lot and there's kinda this. stuttered rhythm to it#he also plays 3s on a 4 count pretty often which is SUPER fun one of my favorite things#like the song can be a 4/4 meter. but he's playing like it's a 6/8#or at least that's how it sounds to my (untrained) ear#but yeah. a lot of melodic playing + stuttered rhythms/strumming patterns + he usually cuts loose and plays steadier on the refrain#or last part of a song#idk man it's just fun to try and pinpoint how different people play and bass is always the one I go for so like. yeah#Lu rambles#I'm being embarrassing on main but honestly I just wanna ramble at my established mutuals about stuff tonight I guess#fob#pete
