I am stupid
here is evidence that I am stupid:
I finally started watching death note, always wanted to watch it, it’s been out for years but for some reason I never got into it.
I got so invested so fast that I got withdrawals when I didn’t have time to watch it and thought “I’ll just go on tumblr for a few minutes and look at death note content.”
Aaaaand spoilers
of course I saw spoilers, anyone with a brain cell could have predicted that but I lent mine out for the weekend.

HUGE hajime no ippo spoiler circa ch 1200 just keep scrolling bro if you’re not there yet //
i stayed up until 3am last night to finish ippo’s comeback against the new filipino champion and :( well :( let’s just say i stayed up even later just crying and reading more and more to see if ippo would actually retire…i woke up still devastated…….i think it’s cool that ippo would be a second and a trainer but………….is he really never going to fight again ? there’s only like 200 more chapters and i don’t really see him changing his mind in that amount of time ? i’m just so shocked tbh like it was after volg’s fight right around ch 1000 is the FIRST TIME EVER ippo ever said he actually wanted to fight the world and just 200 short chapters later that dream is over ?
to be honest, i’m not totally surprised that he retired within the duration of the manga because there has been foreshadowing but i never thought he wouldn’t even get a chance to fight (and probably lose) to ricardo martinez ???
also funny that i’ve read a few other posts about this and a lot of (cis men) are blaming kumi ?????? honestly ippo hasn’t been motivated since he beat sawamura ryuhei so :( i guess i will never watch another ippo fight
brb i just need to sob crying again
ok one last thing….in the last like 500 chapters or so….i feel like the manga really just abandoned all realism so for ippo to make the very measured and realistic decision to retire for preventative measures is just so….siiiiiiigh
if u have thoughts and opinions on this PLZ send me a message i wanna talk to someone who would Understand :/

I'm glad to hear your gma is doing better and can't wait to read more of your work. I was up all night going thru your masterlist and this morning I finished Where Fools Roam... omg. Breathtaking. Incredible. So fun. Literally could not put it down once I started and I have never rlly liked oc ever but omg??!? How did you even come up with Hikaru?? Like her quirk seems so well developed and her costume so thought out and her entire segment literally had me on the edge of my seat rooting for our girl... she felt like she belonged in my hero and I need to know more! I smiles and blushed so bad and laughed and cried A LOT and now I will sleep so I can get up again and read more!! Plz keep writing so I will read anything you post!!!!! 🙌🏽❤️‍🔥
I’m on the last leg of my trip home as we speak (my connecting flight got delayed and it’s been hell trying to find a new one but we’re finally here). I’m so glad that you’ve been enjoying my work! I’m not sure what you’ve gotten through yet or not, but I feel so honored either way. Thank you thank you thank you!
I have a few things that I want to post when I finally get home and have gotten some sleep myself, I’m really excited about the KiriBaku “first times” one-shot! I also have a KiriBaku fanart that I’ve been working on while I’ve been stuck in this stupid terminal that I can’t wait to show everyone (and a Kamado Tanjiro one because he is a precious boy and I love him very much). I’m also going to be participating in a KiriBaku Flash Bang! I’ve never been involved in something like that before but I’m looking forward to be able to collab with an artist whose work I really love and enjoy; I think it’ll be a fun experience!
You know I would take any opportunity to gush about my girl Hikaru - let’s talk about her! :D
[Spoilers for Where Fools Roam Rabid and Free (Katsuki/OC) below the cut!]
Hikaru's Character // Backstory + Family
So, what I really love about Hikaru overall and what I was trying to accomplish with her character is that, at almost any given moment in the story, she always seemed to be on the edge of becoming a villain.
Not only did she have a rather convoluted and complicated relationship with her parents, and a sad, draining childhood growing up in poverty where she was very aware of the disadvantages that she had in life, she was also extremely isolated and made to feel like she was dangerous and alone.
My inspiration for this was directly impacted by the Rope Shrine Maidens from the Fatal Frame franchise!
The way that they were groomed by worshippers to accept some monumental glory to be their esteemed tribute in their binding rituals parallels with the way that Hikaru's father tried to separate her from the rest of the hero society - claiming that she was better than all of the others and that she had a remarkable, honorable destiny laid out ahead of her to protect the Quirkless who would (in her father's ideology) come to worship her as the God of Warm Light after the Rapture when the other heroes and villains would burn themselves to the ground along with all of the civilians that they had sworn to protect in their senseless wars against each other.
Hikaru's father is complex, masterful, and very, very perceptive.
He's a tricky character because he doesn't believe himself to be a villain at all but instead a devoted father. He wants what he believes is the best for his daughter - he loves her more than anything else in this entire world - and he sees a powerful greatness in her that only parents could ever see in their own children. She was not just a little girl to him; she was a Goddess in the making who deserved everything that came with acquiring such an ostentatious title.
Her mother, on the other hand, was incredibly resentful of this idolization.
Irrational, quick to anger, and highly uneducated - Hikaru's mother was Quirkless and in desperate need of some quick cash when she met Hikaru's father in the medical labs where he used to work, and where she had volunteered her body to science in an attempt to better understand why certain people were unlucky enough to not have been born with any sort of Quirks or outstanding powers of their own.
In the beginning of their relationship, there was nothing but true love between them - as all horror stories start.
Hikaru's father was dedicated to her mother despite his long work hours and the secrecy that he had sworn to keep regarding his projects. He showered her with love, made her feel validated even though she had no Quirk of her own, and he never used his Manipulation against her. Instead, he broke all of the rules of his contract with his company and showed her his research. He believed that even without Quirks, every human being had the potential for greatness. Every human had something about them that was extraordinary; their minds, or their talents, or their dreams. He wanted to unlock these hidden aptitudes and bring them to Light.
He wanted to live in a world where not everyone was created equal, in the best possible way.
When Hikaru was born, their little family was happy living in their rundown apartment even with their apparent lack of material possessions. Hikaru's father recognized his daughter’s high levels of empathy - how she cared so much for the pathetic rats that took up residence behind the walls of tattered, tearing wallpaper - that she, too, saw the special Light that shone within every living being.
That she, too, wanted to protect them from the harshness of the world.
When her father's funding at the research lab was suddenly cut due to "ideological concerns" and "psychological instability," the careful ecosystem of their family began to rot from the inside out and wilt away like flower petals.
While their savings grew smaller and smaller, food became scarce, clothes became dirty, and the strain on her parent's relationship grew to the point where Hikaru's mother had fallen ill and become increasingly temperamental and problematic. She was bedridden and frail, and she started to resent the time that Hikaru spent with her father even when he would force her to go into her parent's room and sit next to her mother's bed with her.
Hikaru's mother knew that she didn't want to be there sitting with her, didn't want to see her being so sickly, couldn’t stand to look at her straight on because it made her heart ache in a strange, painful way in her chest; she knew that it made her daughter uncomfortable to be in her presence, and that made her all the more furious and indignant.
During these agonizing visits with her mother, Hikaru's father would sneak back to the research lab where he started to steal more and more of the equipment and papers that he had been storing there over the years. His incessant desire to continue his work had started to drive him mad, and when Hikaru's Quirk finally manifested and revealed itself as something powerful, he saw that precious Light shining through her all over again.
He started to groom her for the Rapture that he believed would come with the mounting discourse happening in Musutafu between the Heroes and the Villains that was broadcasted on the news outlets. Hikaru's mother started to grow even more resentful and angered by all of this, feeling abandoned and betrayed by her family; left to die alone in her prison of a bed.
Still, despite her mother’s unsettling fury, Hikaru was her father's Golden Opportunity girl. She was the shining star of his show. Anything that she wanted, he worked hard to provide for her.
When the day came where Hikaru wanted more than anything in the world to go to the water park on her birthday and play like a normal kid, her father did his best to sneak them into the Water Park Day Event at the Ketsubutsu Academy's Water-Training Hall on their campus. It was the first time in years that Hikaru had been allowed to leave the apartment, and she quickly wandered away from her father’s overbearing watchfulness to explore like the curious little girl that she was, where she accidentally set fire to the building when she failed to gain control of her Quirk after a mean little kid had shoved her out of line at the water slides.
All of her father's careful planning was ruined when she was rescued by an officer on the scene and taken to the nearest hospital; where it was discovered that there was absolutely no record of her medical history or her family, and so she was shipped off to the orphanage where she waited impatiently for her father to come and get her, and she was lost to the catastrophic system.
Hikaru's Personality + Motives
I love Hikaru for many reasons and one of those reasons is because almost all of her qualities have "bad" or "sinister" connotations attached to them.
She is manipulative and cunning - she sees people's weaknesses, psychoanalyzes their behaviors, and then exploits them. She's incredibly private and recluse which can appear shady to others. She's hardheaded and blunt with her opinions (generally unwilling to compromise on them because she believes that she knows best until forcefully proven otherwise). If she wants something, she takes it. If she wants to go somewhere, she skips out on her lessons and goes there. She’s had numerous encounters with the police and she constantly lives outside the realm of the law, or the heroes, or the villains, or the lowly mid-tier criminals because growing up having been so shielded from the world by her father had taught her that there were no serious consequences for any of her actions.
That she could do whatever the fuck it was that she wanted.
She's confident to the point where many may find her conceited; she knows that she's stronger than people expect her to be, she knows that she's smarter than people give her credit for, she knows that she's well above average - her father has engrained that mindset into her being since she was a very young girl. She knows that she was destined for greatness.
And yet. Despite all of those aforementioned traits that most people would associate only with villains or morally grey characters (Loki being a prime example, along with many others), Hikaru is not bad or sinister in any sense of those words.
In fact, she's incredibly kind-hearted, and resilient, and free-spirited. She compliments people without filter, she does not experience jealousy or resentment towards others who have had better support systems or opportunities than her, and she forgives-and-forgets as though it is second nature.
She knows that people are multi-faceted; that they are not two-dimensional beings bound by labels but instead diverse and full of layers, just like she is. Whenever she manipulates Katsuki or anyone else in the story, it is never for her own personal selfish gain, or to be in control of the situation, or to find someone else to do her dirty work for her so that she doesn't have to lift a finger. She manipulates to save.
I wanted to write a character who could take all of those nasty traits and flip them around. A character so unpredictable and wild that it makes people nervous.
Her quirk is just another example of her intricacy.
Hikaru's Quirk: Gasoline Fire
In her wrists and forearms are an extra set of veins that are lined with pockets full of gasoline. Much like how a monthly period will drain a person of their blood and iron, Hikaru's gasoline works in a similar manner. She can only release whatever her body has stored up inside of her - it's not an infinite amount (though through rigorous training and pushing herself beyond her limits, it can definitely seem that way). Once ejected from the body, her gasoline can then be ignited and set ablaze.
Burning gasoline has a temperature above 1500° E (945° C). It is incredibly dangerous and difficult to maintain, and in her second year, Hikaru had learned not only how to ignite it but she also knows how to manipulate it (due to a modified genetic from her father's quirk; Manipulation. When the two pads of his index and middle finger press flat against the spinal chord on someone's neck, he can essentially 'hack' into their motivations and emotions, and then manipulate their behavior and ambitions from there).
The way that Hikaru moves her fire around is described as though she is connecting her fingertips to the ends of a trillion tiny strings that she has to coordinate and direct all at once. It takes an intense amount of concentration and focus - it's the most powerful Ultimate Move that she has in her arsenal!
Some of her other moves include, but are not limited to:
Hell Rain - When Gasoline is dropped from a high altitude and set ablaze, causing a rain of fire to fall down on her opponents. (Displayed during the Provisional Licensing Exam in Chapter Four: (Not) Good Enough).
Ring of Fire - A defensive strategy used to isolate herself while in battle, typically when she is outnumbered and taking a lot of heat or needs time to recuperate and think of a better plan. (Displayed during the Practical Exam in Chapter Nine: A Demi-Devil Pyromaniac Handful).
Outside of her power moves, she has adapted to use her strong legs and feet (her preferred method being an ariel kick of some kind), but Hikaru's fighting style during hand-to-hand combat comes with a twist.
She doesn't stay true to the honorary ways of fighting, and will use any means necessary to ensure her own safety. ("You didn’t beat me, you ignored the rules of engagement. In a fair fight, I'd kill you." "That's not much incentive for me to fight fair, then, is it?")
Hikaru's Costume
I spent a fair bit of time putting together Hikaru’s hero costume. I wanted it to reflect her personality and so I tried to envision the costume through Hikaru’s eyes when she was sitting up late at night hiding under her covers with a flashlight and designing it in secret.
Having grown up poor and regularly using other people’s clothes, Hikaru is a very low-maintenance kind of girl and doesn’t need much to survive, so I wanted her costume to be simple yet practical.
Since she didn’t have money for a tram card, she spent a lot of her time walking places. This means that she knows the etiquette of the road very well - she knows that people wear certain material to reflect light in the dark so that pedestrians are easier to spot when a car’s beams shine on them, which spawned the creation of her pants with the nylon strip patterns (as shown below).
Tumblr media
The reflective stripes will refract when her gasoline is ignited and can blur her quick movements and disorient her opponent, making her difficult to keep track of especially if she’s constantly darting around in and out of sight.
Her shirt is a simple, heat-resistant turtleneck. Nothing too flashy about it. The only notable detail is the fact that the sleeves stop before her gasoline lines to prevent them from getting soaked/damaged, and there are reinforced metal plates around the material that covers her neck to prevent any straining or damage to the muscles or spine when she performs ariel attacks and needs to stick a tuck-and-roll landing or other dangerous aerobatics.
Her leather gloves are also fire resistant, with two digits missing from her thumb and middle fingers for better snapping accuracy (this feature is later altered to fingerless gloves as she doesn’t need to snap to time her ignition anymore, but she does need her fingertips free in order to connect to and control the flames from her gasoline, much like her father’s quirk needs that direct contact with the spinal cord).
Later on in the story (shown in Chapter Thirteen: Katsuki vs. Hikaru) she also has a lasso/whip that she coats in gasoline and lights on fire.
She wears a gas mask on her face to avoid inhaling any of the noxious fumes produced by her fire, and the final detail (and perhaps my very favorite) is her purely white platform boots (see below).
Tumblr media
These boots are the epitome of Hikaru’s character and personality.
Despite her short stature, she is anything but small. The elevated height makes her feel more authoritative, and the combat style provides ample support for her ankles. The hefty base was designed specifically with her hand-to-hand fighting style in mind. Her fists aren’t all that impressive, but her legs are strong from long hours spent walking, running, and jumping off of rooftops, and she loves her high kicks - having a boot with such a thick sole can make for some real devastating hits.
[“White gets dirty fucking easy,” Katsuki chided her.
“That’s the point,” Hikaru said, flicking a piece of dirt off one of her shoelaces. “If they aren’t completely covered by the end of the day, I didn’t work hard enough, did I?”]
Hikaru’s Relationship With Katsuki
I have read quite a few Bakugou Katsuki fics since I’ve entered the BNHA fandom but the one thing that I never really see emphasized in any of the stories surrounding him is his fierce independence. I love protective Katsuki as much as the next fan, but I love even more that he really doesn’t give two flying shits about whatever it is that Hikaru does or doesn’t choose to do.
After having been raised in such a stifling, constricting lifestyle where her future had always been planned out for her, and her time constantly divvied up between the responsibilities bestowed upon her by all of the ridiculous expectations that other people have always had for her; Katsuki was inherently different from the others.
“You can do whatever the fuck you want, Hikaru.” And he meant it.
While her father had tried to contain her and keep her on a very narrow path, Katsuki opened up a world of possibilities for her. Where her Nana at the orphanage had always complained about her erratic behavior and forced her to attend lessons that she didn’t want to attend and learn skills that she couldn’t seem to find it in herself to care about learning, Katsuki had only taught her the things that she asked to be taught, had only showed her how to do things if she found her voice and brought them up to him first.
Where he normally leads the pack (specifically with Kirishima and Kaminari during training, etc), it was almost instinctual for him to learn how to fall behind with Hikaru.
He didn’t try to pry into her secretive life and depressing childhood, and that made Hikaru feel safe. She never expected him to change into someone that he wasn’t, and that made Katsuki compliant. Like a push with a pull, like a ying with a yang, like the calculated yet natural drift of a fluid dance, they fell into a pattern that was astonishingly easy for them to maintain.
Katsuki’s ego was never questioned because Hikaru believed in his confidence - he said that he was the best, that he could take care of himself, that he was strong and capable, and so Hikaru assumed that he really must be. And Hikaru’s freedom, her crazy unabashed spirit that made her leap from the top of buildings and dart off into dangerous adventures at random with no prior warning beforehand like an unexpected bullet being fired from a gun was never corralled or stifled because Katsuki, quite frankly, didn’t care what she did nor did he want to be responsible for any of her actions.
She was a big girl who had gone through things that might have brought a grown man to his knees. She could take care of herself. Katsuki had confidence in that.
I think it’s this individual independence that makes them work so well together. The way that Hikaru comes and goes as she pleases meshes with Katsuki’s adamance of never needing to be taken care of. They don’t need to challenge each other to “be better people,” nor do they have any expectations of each other. They simply exist in each other’s space; a checkpoint where they each come back to in the midst of their long journeys to rest and recuperate, a safe place where they can relax and take some much needed breaks without the fear of being judged for not being good enough, not being kind enough, not being happy enough, not being the best.
Hikaru never really wanted the kind of greatness that her father craved for her to have, and Katsuki’s character development throughout the series has brought him to the realization that - despite all of his childish ambitions and the time spent believing that he was, in fact, the greatest of the great - there was a heavy burden that came with carrying such high hopes for oneself. A crushing, soulless weight.
They learn that life (and love) is not really about any of the stuff mentioned in the songs and books of greatness.
It’s not measured in accomplishments and trophies and high scores. It was measured, instead, in laughter and memories. In the adrenaline of surviving a high-speed rollercoaster and the jumping off of a daunting ten-meter cliff into the bone-chilling waters below. In camping under the stars after a long and vigorous day of hiking. In playing video games, and watching movies, and reading books, and feeling the sting of a hard paintball shell smacking into muscle and leaving behind a welted bruise. It was in fresh mountain air, and the feel of sweat racing down skin, and everything else that made someone feel inexplicably alive and free.
It was in realizing that there is far more to life than fighting crime and saving people, that there are far more layers to people than just their dreams of being a hero, of being great.
That there are always consequences for one’s actions, that there is no success without the battering of constant failure, that life does not slow down long enough for anyone to properly catch their breaths, and so they will continue to get the fuck back up after every humiliating defeat, brush each other off and forgive after every mistake, and march forever forward.
Together.
Some More Songs I Found That Remind Me of Hikaru:

Hi, I’m the Siegfried/Audrey anon who you responded to with the WALL-E gif!! aaaa idk what could happen in s2?? I actually haven’t seen all of s1 yet, I’m in the US and it hasn’t finished airing here :’( I WISH it could be canon (slow-burn friends-to-lovers YES PLZ), but I’m afraid it won’t?? I feel like it may not be supported by canon bc I’ve read that she’s a lot older in the books the show is based on, which makes me think she’ll just keep being the maternal figure of the lil found-family :/
skjfdkfjskd I’M SORRY!!! i should’ve asked you first whether or not you’ve seen the whole s1 before talking about it :////
THAT’s exactly my problem too but also i’m a hopeless wanderer shipper so i’ll probably just continue shipping the hell out of these two and hope for the best
i won’t say more bc that would be spoiler-y and i don’t want to ruin the rest of the season for you <3 also have fun, tonight’s ep is a treat :)

Yoosung’s Match
Doing something different-ish, focusing on a series without the smut, lolol. After starting Yoosung’s route, I am so soft for him! I wanted to a series where him and mc share interests, including LoLoL.
Pairing: Yoosung x OC (Dove)
Summary: When a stranger enters the RFA chat, no-one expected an almost female version of Yoosung to be the participant who would be the key to beginning their parties one more. Will their similarities pull them together or will another come in and sweep her away?
Warnings: None, only reference to game from day 1-11 so spoilers for those not played Yoosung.
Note: This chapter is based off day’s 1 and then day 5 from Yoosungs route. Written in the form like the chatroom. Features clips and conversations from the game but also own created content. Focuses on certain chatrooms rather than every individual one, wish to focus more on developing a storyline with Yoosung than the whole party and gameplay.
Chapter 1: Dove has entered the chatroom.
[Dove has entered the chat]
Yoosung★: Failed my midterms fml T_T
Tumblr media
707: Cuz u played LOLOL all night lol.
Jumin: If you want to work for our company, you should take care of your GPA.
Yoosung★: I’m still on the list?! +_+
Tumblr media
Jumin: Yes.
707: Nice~ Can’t believe u get to work straight after college lol
707: In this day and age!
Zen: Lame. It’s nepotism.
Jumin: It’s called recruitment actually.
Zen: It’s giving a free pass instead of actually training the worker.
Jumin: Whatever. I couldn’t care less what you say.
Zen: What’s the difference between recruitment and nepotism?
707: Thought they r the same? O_O?
Tumblr media
Jumin: It’s nepotism if you recruit a person you know and they aren’t of any help.
Yoosung★: Oh… So you become a candidate for nepotism the same time you’re recruited!
Zen:
Tumblr media
707: Wait!!
Yoosung★: Why?
Zen: ??
707: Think someone entered the chat room;;
Jumin: Dove…?
Zen: Wtf. How did it get in here?
707: Hacker!
Yoosung★: Hacker!? Therae’s a hacker in ouer room!!!
Yoosung★: Sevnee do somethign!!
Zen: Hey, typos. -_-;;
707: Wait a sec. I’m searching.
Jumin: Who are you? Reveal yourself. Hey, Assistant Kang.
Jaehee: Yes, I am here.
Zen: You were so quiet I thought you went somewhere.
Jaehee: Nothing was out of the ordinary so I was just watching
Jaehee: but I see something has just happened.
Yoosung★: omg
Jumin: Why is a stranger in our chatroom?
Jaehee: No one can enter this chatroom without installing the private app we use… It seems someone has downloaded the RFA Messenger.
Yoosung★: I thought Seven let only us download it?
Tumblr media
Dove: Hello…
707: I traced the IP…
707: It’s from Rika’s apartment.
Yoosung★: Rika’s apartment?
Jumin: Where was it?
Jaehee: The location is not revealed. I know it to be classified.
707: Anyways, someone must have broken into her apt.
707: It talked now, so it must be a person ^^;
Jumin: Quit shitting around.
Jumin: Dove… Who are you?
Jumin: Reveal yourself, stranger.
Jumin: If you do not reveal yourself, you will pay.
Yoosung★: Yeees! Who are u?!
Zen: Use proper english please.
707: If it doesn’t say anything I’ll hack in and find out.
Zen: …Maybe
Zen: one of my fans?
Dove: Reveal yourselves first. I’m the most confused one here…
Jumin: How fierce.
Zen: Are you a woman?
707: Zen. Be more serious, plz?
707: And wait a sec on the woman thing.
707: Looking it up.
Tumblr media
Yoosung★: Should we… introduce ourselves?
Jumin: Are you serious…?
Jaehee: I think it is a bit too early for that.
Zen: Hi. I’m Zen. (24 yrs old) Musical actor… Don’t look me up on the internet.
Zen: It’s embarrassing.
Yoosung★: Zen, you’re so brave!
Jumin: Guess he wanted to show himself off.
Zen: No way~!
Zen:
Tumblr media
Yoosung★: Omg… a photo too.
Jaehee: My eyes have been cleansed.
Jaehee:
Tumblr media
Dove: Oh, I haven’t heard of you, sorry…
Dove: Yes to before, I am woman.
Zen: What?!
*Heart break appears on screen*
Jumin: I see that he has zero interest in his privacy.
707: Lolol
707: My nickname’s 707.
707: Real name is a secret.
707: Fyi, Zen’s real name is Hyun Ryu.
Zen: Your name’s a secret but not mine?;
707: U don’t care anyways lol.
Jaehee: 707 does have the strangest name so I understand the secrecy.
707:  The name’s too holy to be spread around~ I’m gonna pray after I finish hacking.
707: Just remember me as the 22yr old young hacker lol
707: Where I live is also a secret.
Zen: So many secrets;;
Yoosung★: I’m Yoosung Kim! I’m a college student… 21 yrs old.
Yoosung★:
Tumblr media
707: So warm and fuzzy here
Zen: Lol. Seven, you don’t have any selfies to show?
707: Nothing recent.
707: Oh and also!
707: Jumin’s the heir of a pretty famous corporation and Jaehee is his assistant. 27 and 26 yrs old respectively.
707: You have a better sense of who we are now, Dove?
Jumin: Why did you say that…?
707: Doubted you’d do it urself.
Jumin: Stop shitting around.
707: Oh, fyi, Jumin has the cutest cat.
Jumin: Hey.
Jumin: Why are we talking about Elizabeth the 3rd to a stranger?
707: The cat’s name is Elizabeth the 3rd.
707:
Tumblr media
Yoosung★: That info’s a bit useless…
Yoosung★: We’re not even close with this Dove person yet lol
Jumin: Can’t believe he showed a photo of Elizabeth the 3rd to a stranger…
Jumin: Idiot…
Zen: Stop talking about cats. Giving me goosebumps.
Jaehee: I suggest that we take care of this stranger first.
Jaehee: Could it be that we have a security breach?
Zen: True. Dove, how did you get in here?
Yoosung★: Is it really in Rika’s apartment?
707: Yup. It’s for sure…
707: How did it get the apartment password?!
Zen: Where the hell is the apartment?
Dove: I came here while chatting with a personal called ‘Unknown’. Do you know him by any chance?
Dove: But anyway, I’m Dove.
Jumin: Unknown?
Zen: Maybe he just didn’t set a username?
707: It’s mandatory to set a username so he must have set it that way.
707: Maybe…
Tumblr media
Yoosung★: How did you end up chatting with that person?
Jaehee: I see.
Jaehee: Where did you download this messenger app?
Jaehee: Dove, you are quite strange as well.
Zen: Do you think this person’s a creep? No way.
Dove: I got it in the app store, I just downloaded it and then was suddenly in a room with unknown and now all of you…
Dove: I just wanted to play games lolol
Yoosung★: You like games too!
Yoosung★: I love games.

Zen: Dude. A girl won’t play that game;
Zen: Don’t ask stupid questions.

Dove: Does the wizard of Tarth ever lie?
Yoosung★:

Yoosung★: Yoousung.exe has stopped working.
Yoosung★: You play?!
707: Anyways.
707: I should trace the person who distributed the app.

Yoosung★: Do you know that Zen always complains about being single these days?
Yoosung★: But I’ve never even been in a relationship T_T
Dove: Are you not interested in girls?
Yoosung★: …I guess…
Yoosung★: I feel better when I team up with a girl character when playing games.
Yoosung★: And it makes it more interesting if there’s a girl in the guild…
Yoosung★: Was you serious when you said you played?
Dove: Level 69 Mage at your service
Yoosung★: I…
Tumblr media
Yoosung★: I’ve rarely met a girl who plays!

Yoosung★: I wish he would give us the address to Rika’s apartment…
Dove: I’d like that!
Dove: But we have the party to focus on!
Yoosung★: I really like you T_T
Yoosung★: It’s only been a day and I can’t wait to meet you lolol.

Yoosung★: Well, all Seven told us is that
Yoosung★: you’re a cute girl.
Yoosung★: I want to know… your interests, what you do, and things like that in detail.
Yoosung★: I do want to ask you directly.
Yoosung★: But it does feel a bit too soon for that…
Yoosung★: I would just like to talk to you like this and get to know you gradually.
Dove: I’d like to get to know you better as well.
Yoosung★: A girl who plays lolol and wants to know me
Yoosung★: Are you really real?
Yoosung★: This isn’t a whole thing of 707 playing a prank is it…?
Dove: Lol I hope not.
Dove: I’m very real, even though I don’t really feel real living in someone else's apartment…
Dove: But I’m excited for the party, I hope I do right by you all.
Yoosung★: I think all the organization members are thinking the same thing.
Yoosung★: If you could do what Rika used to do
Yoosung★: we’d get to host parties again!
Dove: I’ll do my best!
Yoosung★: Do you feel pressured because of everything I’m saying?
Yoosung★: If V donates his photographs, then I’m sure a lot of people will come.
Yoosung★: So you don’t have to worry so much.
Dove: Thank you!
Yoosung★: Sure!
Yoosung★: Tell me whenever it gets hard!
Yoosung★: I should go play games now!

Dove: Oh come on, Mr.Defender of justice!
Dove: I just want to share some snack photos every now and then.
Dove: There’s a vender outside who sells these buns in the shape of fish, stuffed with chocolate!

Dove: HoneyBuddha Chips…?
707: You’ve never…?

Yoosung★: Oh, you’re with your cat right now;;
Dove: I once went to a cat cafe!
Dove: I feel like you’d enjoy it Jumin.
Jumin: A cat cafe…
Jumin: I’d rather spend time with that narcissist then eat cat.
Tumblr media
Dove: No you silly!
Dove: It’s a cafe where you get to go and eat with cats.
Dove: You can feed them, pet them whilst taking loads of cute photos! It’s really cute.
Dove: Hold up, let me just…
Tumblr media
Dove: Look the one fell asleep atop of my head!
Yoosung★: Wait, you can send us photos now?!
Jumin: I need…
Jumin: To ask assistant Kang about investing into one of these…
Jumin: I fear if I went to one, Miss.Elizabeth would become jealous of smelling other cats upon me.
Jumin: But I like this, very much.
Jumin: If you’ll excuse me, I need to make a phone call about producing one of these for Miss.Elizabeth.
Jumin left the chat.
Yoosung★: You are really cute~

Yoosung★: I can’t believe I get to see the real you.

Yoosung★: Well except 707 and Jumin…
Yoosung★: But before the others and the party as well!
Dove: I asked 707 about it earlier.
Dove: I wanted to be able to send you photos of my food, to prove to you I’m eating.
Yoosung★: You asked him so you could send me photos?
Yoosung★: Thank you. MC.
Yoosung★: For appearing in front of me.
MC: Yoosung, you’re cute.
Yoosung★: Me?!
Yoosung★: Guys tend to not like being called cute…
Yoosung★: but why do I feel so strange hearing it from you?
Tumblr media
Yoosung★: I should go to bed now. I don’t know if I’ll sleep though…
Yoosung★: Are you going to stay up?
MC: Yes.
Yoosung★: Okay.
Yoosung★: Don’t work too hard ^^
Yoosung★: I feel bad if you’re tired.

wow! another semester of college done. everything goes by too fast yet so slowly all at once. #pandemiclife. but fr, everyone better be doing their part in being safe and healthy!! nothing will get better if we don’t all work together! also, it’s 2021, but it’s feeling a lot like the start of 2020 again. plz for how long will this go on.....
also, spoiler warning. they’re everywhere. nothing too major this time around, but they’re still there.
***
6 of crows, leigh bardugo — a good book. very good plot, great characters. i actually picked up this book i think about a year ago? before i even knew there was so much hype around it. but i couldn’t get past the first 50 pages cuz it just did not grab me. but then my fave girl @/withcindy on youtube hyped it up so much that i just had to give it another chance. and i’m glad i did. probs my fave aspect of this book was the setting and the vibes that came with it. in a place like ketterdam, it seems like basically anything is possible. it’s all very dark and messy but within that there’s a certain order to things that no one can upend. also, i freaking love love looove heist stories (has anyone read ally carter’s heist society books? top tier) and this definitely hit that right on the dot. also, kaz and inej are soooooo angsty it was a delight to read.
one thing that was a little off-putting though was the constant flashbacks. which i understand was necessary because we needed to somehow be introduced to our characters who came to be where they are specifically because of their past, but there was a liiiiiittle too much. but not enough for me to not thoroughly enjoy this book, which i definitely did. i enjoyed everyone’s varying personalities (jesper’s so funny), especially how kaz repeatedly shows us that he is not a nice guy. he’ll do what’s necessary to get the job done and be totally unapologetic about it. king shit.
a 8/10.

a curse so dark and lonely, brigid kemmerer — another book i read because of @/withcindy. she gave it average reviews, so i didn’t expect much from it. and good thing i didn’t, because i agree; it’s just an average story.
grey was my favorite character from the get-go. a smexy bodyguard who also loves kids and has unwavering loyalty??????? sign me tf up. i was also way more invested in his and harper’s chemistry than i should have been because i knew they weren’t even going to end up together. but i 100% think that if they’d spent more time together, she would’ve left rhen for him. and it would’ve been a lot more interesting that way. oh well.
i found it refreshing that she guessed the curse right from the beginning. it reduced all the annoying miscommunication that would’ve come from it. appreciate it. i also liked that the story focused on more than just the romance, bringing in the country and political stuff as well. but on the other hand it made the story kinda long when i just wanted to get it over with.
the best chapters were the one in the monster’s pov cuz they were the shortest. jk. lol
will i be reading the rest of the series? absolutely not. moving on-
a 6/10.

the remains of the day, kazuo ishiguro — ugh guys kazuo ishiguro ALWAYS. always. hits you in place you didn’t even KNOW could be hit and makes you question your entire moral compass. an entire genius that man is. he didn’t win a nobel prize for no reason, that’s for sure. read this, and also read never let me go. that one really makes you think.
the best written part-but i guess basically the entirety of this book?-was the utter unreliability of the narrator. his way of talking is hard to describe, but it’s partly him being unsure of what he’s saying and also wanting to sound more respectable than he really is, mixed with a kind of forced aloofness (the most heart-wrenching part). there are a lot of things he says that forces him-and us in turn-to realize that things weren’t as straightforward as we thought they were. it’s a shame his ideals kept him from realizing these only much after the fact. i felt bad for him, honestly. but aren’t we kind of all like that? living day-to-day the way we think we should, even if it might not be the right thing for us to do. then again, what defines “right”? lol now i’m getting way out of my depth. lots to think about.
me being a total sucker for anything romance, i was so distraught over his and miss kenton’s almost-but-not-quite relationship. like come on ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅜㅜㅠㅠ oh well. things happen in ways that we can’t always quite control.
i didn’t give it a full score because the beginning was a little hard to get into, but i guess that’s kind of the point. it’s so unassuming that you don’t think there’s much to expect, and then you get hit in the face with nazi stuff lol.
ah, to be more aware of the impact our decisions will make on our lives. but to always know that life goes on (stream be) and that it’s never too late to make your future.
a 9/10.
***
maybe you should talk to someone, lori gottlieb — nothing suuuuper mind blowing about this book, but it was definitely a good read. i especially liked the stories about her patients and how they grew in their sessions with her. regardless of how fucked up they were, it’s relieving to see that no one, not a single person, is beyond getting better of their own will. also, i admire them for even taking the step to go to therapy in the first place. i’m a pretty high functioning person (according to the book, someone that’s relatively self-aware and wants to work on improving themselves, or something similar) and even though i’ve been thinking about going to therapy just as a way to get things off my chest, i haven’t actually made the move yet. and though i know i probably should-everyone should, tbh-i’m not sure when i will.
i think i zoned out a little while reading somewhere around the middle lol but i finished it faster than i thought i would. the stories are very engaging. truly, you never really know what people are going through. i remind myself of this from time to time, because it always holds true. and this book was a good, solid reminder of that.
a 8/10.

With some encouragement from @amelimiles, I’m revisiting these questions since it’s been so long since I last answered them. I thought it’d be fun to see how my answers might have changed! The first time I answered was around three months after S1 of the anime finished airing, and I don’t think I’d seen any novels spoilers at that point. (You can see my old answers in full here though I will also mention them below.)
(warning: there are a few non-specific novel spoilers in here)
5 favorite characters: 2015: Shapur, Isfan, Hilmes, Zandeh, and Sam. 2020: Shapur, Isfan, Hilmes, Zandeh... and Kubard! Though it’s close! (back when S1 aired I was very invested in what was going to happen to Sam and I guess objectively his internal conflict makes him a more interesting character but the question says ‘favourite’ so yeah... KUBARD.) 3 OTPs: 2015: Kubard/Shapur, Hilmes/Zandeh, and... Hilmes/Irina? 2020: The first two answers from 2015 have remained my OTPs so that’s not going to change. I have a lot of ships for this series that I find interesting in one way or another, but would I call anything else an OTP? Probably not, but if I had to pick something I think it’d be Kubard/Isfan. let them meet in the manga soon plz... i’ve been waiting so long! Funniest character: 2015: Arslan in the 4-koma Theater episodes. 2020: Same answer. There have been funny moments in the manga, but no one character is solely comic relief and I like that. (Though now I think about it I’m very tempted to say OVA Kharlan because of PULSA FOREVEEEER~ since just the memory of it makes me laugh.) Prettiest character: 2015: Gieve. 2020: Yeah, I’ll stick with that. Most badass character: 2015: Kubard. 2020: KUBARD. No hesitation. He’s badass to the very end. Character I’d like as my BFF: 2015: Jaswant. 2020: I agree with my past self. Jaswant. unlike Rajendra I clearly recognised his worth right from the start Character that’s ruined my life: 2015: Hilmes (because of the amount of time I spent angsting over him lmao). 2020: HILMES even though the reasoning behind it is completely different this time given that I now know what happens in the novels... Have you ever had a series take what you wanted for a character and do the exact opposite? I still feel bitter about how things turned out, even though by the final book it wasn’t exactly a surprise any more (and I wish it didn’t but it sometimes affects how I feel about him when I read the manga... I think I preferred it when I was able to hope for something better).
I’m pretty sure I’ll be in this fandom forever so remind me to come back to this in another five years to see if anything else has changed by then! Also if you haven’t answered it yourself yet, I want to see your answers! Send them in anon if you want!

Movies and Karaoke - p.p
Summary: Science squad has another fun sleepover full of movies and karaoke.
Warnings: cussing, underage drinking, killer klowns from outer space spoilers (but that movie came out in the 80s so.......that’s on you lmao), some emo shit at some point.
Word Count: 2.9k (i wanted to make her a big one bc i love science squad prompts ngl so plz send more ideas. Anything really)
Did I go back and watch KKFOS from beginning to end just to add all my important commentary I actually made while watching the movie? You bet your sweet ass I did. Do I regret it? Only slightly! Civil War through FFH never happened but Morgan exists and so does the science squad bc no one can stop me from disregarding canon!!
Tumblr media
"It's my turn to pick the first movie!" Shuri yells at Harley and ripping the control out of his hand, causing the kid to nearly scream. The girl casts a playful glare towards Harley, making the kid damn near shit himself on the spot. From the corner, Ned giggles, watching the whole thing go down. However, when the door swings open, Ned's head snaps in that direction.
"Shuri," MJ's soft voice calls out, soft yet firm with a tint of humor. She's seen entering the room with blankets and pillows in her arms.  "Bring it down, you're scaring the boy."
Shuri drops the remote control onto the coffee table in front of her. The princess leans back on the large couch, pouting as she crosses her arms over her chest. It is supposed to be her turn. It was Ned's last time, to now it's her turn. But whatever. Instead, she just stares at the black screen in front of her, contemplating her life up until this point. However, not too long after, they hear the door to the in-home theater swinging open, revealing you and Peter with snacks and drinks in your hands.
Shuri and Harley's eyes widen as they look at all the snacks. Bags of skittles, six boxes of pizzas, boxes and boxes of cookies, packs of juice and some water, and lots of other things among that. However, their eyes drift over to the two twelve-pack boxes of hard lemonade that Peter holds in his hands. A gift from uncle Rhodey because he knows how teens can be and he'd rather you do it among trusted friends at home than getting it off some stranger on the streets. Plus, he trusts you and MJ to be responsible about it while still having fun. Plus, it's like four per kid, so it's not gonna do much to any of you.
"Alright, Shuri," you call out as you and Peter begin setting things up. MJ begins setting up the blankets and pillows as well.
You'd invited your friends over for a sleepover, one of the many you have over the course of the year. You'd all settled for a movie night, not wanting to go out anywhere really. The last time you'd had a sleepover, Ned picked the first movie and it would rotate from there. The sleepover usually lasts all weekend, from Friday evening to Sunday evening. Enough time to wreak havoc on everybody at the tower and have the time of your lives. It's Friday night and you're ready for a long night of movies and messing around. It made the most sense to use the in-home theater that your father had installed into the tower; it's spacious, it has the best screen with surround sound which makes movies, karaoke, and video games so much more enjoyable. It's all and all, extremely fun.
As you finish setting up the snacks, you see Harley moving to the back of the room to tone down the lights as Shuri turns on the screen, revealing the home screen for Killer Klowns From Outer Space. You all turn to look at her, casting playful glares in her direction. The only one who did not was Peter.
"Absolutely not," Harley calls out first. He shakes his head, sounding completely unenthralled. You giggle, nodding along. "This movie is so bad!" he exclaims.
"I kind of wanna watch it," Peter cuts in. You all turn to him now, giving him the glare. "I've never seen it-"
"You," you cut him off, taking a step closer to him. "Of all people, have not seen Killer Klowns? Mr. I'm constantly watching movies from the 80s, has not seen Killer Klowns?"
"I've been meaning to," Peter defends himself, looking over at everyone else. They're all still glaring at him, though it's all playful. "I see it everywhere, but I just never get to it, ya know?"
With that, you all sit down, ultimately agreeing to watch it. Harley shoots up in his spot once again, running to turn off the lights completely. When he sits back down, Shuri presses play and the movie begins. It starts off and everybody seems to sing along to the theme song at the beginning. Arguably one of the most wasted songs ever, because it's so good for such a bad movie. But who cares, ya know? However, the movie reaches the point where they introduce the two teenage characters in the makeout area.
"Why would people actively choose to go to a place like that to makeout in groups?" Peter asks. "Like, hey I'm gonna take my girlfriend out to this isolated place where there are already like ten other couple making out or having sex in this exact spot already?"
"Some people are just voyeurs," MJ cuts in, shrugging lights before wrapping an arm around Shuri. Peter hums in response. "Plus that doesn't happen much nowadays."
Suddenly, an ice cream truck drives into the area where all the teens are making out, and over the com, one of the drivers says;
"We'll give you the stick, you give it a lick, and it'll tickle you all the way down,"
Peter chuckles and without thinking it through he says; "That's what I say to Y/N w-"
"Peter!"
His eyes go wide as you all yell at him. You lightly smack his arm, moving away from him slightly as he giggles about it. They all glare at him again before turning back to the movie. After that, not many comments are made until the two main teen characters discover the tent where the clowns are. As the guy pressures the girl to go into the tent, you speak up.
"I've said this before and I'll say it again," you start, hearing Peter chuckle as he wraps his arms around you again. "If Deb was a lesbian or was with a girl, at least, she would not be there and she would be safe."
"Explain." quips Harley.
"Boys are dumb and if Deb was with a girl, the other girl would agree and they'd run away rather than run to the tent," you respond. Shuri and MJ nod, giving you the lesbian seal of approval for that opinion.
"What if it was me asking you to go in with me?" Peter asks.
"Well, I'd maybe consider it, but that's because I have my dad's tech to save me and I'd have Spider-Man with me, so we could easily fight these clowns off. They don't want this smoke," you explain. "However, if it was pre-bite you, then no, I would leave you on your own and run away if you wanted to go in."
"Fair enough."
With that, the discussions stop for a while. Until the scene where the clowns are loose in the city and going door to door killing people. When they ring the doorbell at the first door to reveal a blonde woman in a slip dress with a glass in her hand, pretending to deliver her some pizza.
"Pizza?" she asks. Peter turns to look at you, confusion in his eyes.
"Are-are they going to-"
"Clap her cheeks?" you all respond at the same time, noticing how it can look like the start to a bad porn video. Except, it's a horror movie instead. When they zap her, Peter almost gasps. Was he expecting it to happen? "My take is that if they just did clap her cheeks, they'd realize that they don't need to kill people and they just need some coochie or something. Plus she was cute, so if I was one of them I would have done it, but there's a reason why they're clowns."
Once more, the commentary became little to none until another wild scene much later in the movie. At this point, Dave the cop and Mike -Debbie's boyfriend- are in a playhouse looking for Debbie. The two guys that walked in with them and got lost inside a ball pit, one meant to be a jacuzzi or hot tub of some sort. As the camera pans out, it reveals two clowns, and when the camera turns to face them, it reveals that they're female clowns. As the camera pans out on them once more, it shows their clown boobs inflating.
"Holy shit," Peter screams, causing everyone to laugh. "Screw anime girl tiddies," he continues, making MJ and Ned snort, meanwhile Shuri spits out her drink. "Clown girl tiddies are where it's at!"
You lightly smack his arm, glaring at him once more. Though the room is dark, you can see him lightly blushing in embarrassment. Eventually, the movie comes to an end and Harley is quick to turn the lights on.  Suddenly, over the speakers in the room, you hear Harley speaking up.
"Hey guys, welcome to my show," he speaks into the karaoke mic. When he plugged it in, you're not sure, but the suddenness of it made it funnier. Harley steps in front of everyone and looks over at all of you. "So I'm no comedian but for tonight I am," he continues, earning a fake chuckle from Ned. What a supportive boyfriend. "So, we watched Killer Klowns From Outer Space, right? Well, you know who the real clowns were?"
"Who?" you all ask.
"Us, for even watching it in the first place."
That got a genuine laugh out of all of you. Even Peter was laughing genuinely at the joke, mostly since he's the biggest clown of all for wanting to watch it. Harley bows after his jokes land. He sets the mic down as MJ stands and walks over to the mic. She picks up the mic and looks over at everyone.
"Peter and Harley," she calls out. The two perk up, waiting for something else. "That's it, that's the joke."
"Hey, we should do karaoke before we pick the next movie!" Ned exclaims, his eyes wide with hopeful excitement. You all look at him, not being able to deny him his karaoke. Plus, you love karaoke. It's his thing, not many people can say no to him. He's the charmer of the group, often convincing people to get his way. You are the mom friend in terms of getting them out of certain situations and funding all the craziness as well as physically taking care of them. MJ is the intimidating mom friend, though she uses her intimidation on other people to get everyone out of a different kind of trouble. Shuri is the intimidating and hectic person who tends to get you all into some kind of trouble, but she knows how to cover it up, so there's always some close run-ins. She's the group clown. Peter and Harley are equally the punching bags of the group and they are also the bigger trouble makers. However, they're also the practical geniuses who can make anything out of a paper clip under intense pressure. However, Peter is the brawn while Harley is just not afraid of Tony, so he just barges in and does what he want to get out of trouble. All in all, no one can really say no to Ned.
"Alright, let's do this, you're up first bud," you tell Ned. He excitedly jumps up and stands up in the front as you turn the screen back on. You exit the movie and open up a karaoke program you'd bought that allowed for all sorts of high-quality music. You pull out a notebook from a cabinet in the room with a pen as well. At the top, you write the word 'queue' and make a list. "Come tell me your songs so I can start up a queue."
Everyone walks over to you one by one, telling you their songs and you just write them down. At the end of it, you have a queue of about twenty songs. So with that, you type in the first song that Ned chose. Africa by Toto.
You lean forward in your seat, grabbing one of the hard lemonades. No one seemed to grab any up until you did. Everyone grabbed one, as the song began. As Ned sings, you continue making the queue of songs until they've all been put in and you can sit back and watch. After Ned finishes singing, Peter jumps up and takes the mic. His song begins to play, making everyone laugh.
"Gotta take a little time," he begins, faking a raspy voice. He moves around the room, humming and singing along until the song reaches its chorus. He kneels in front of you, hand reaching out for you. His eyes are screwed shut and everyone's phones are recording you two. "I wanna know what love is, I want you to show me!"
You playfully push him and he lands on his back. Everyone laughs, stopping their recordings to post them somewhere. You giggle when Peter stands back up, moving over to Ned and deciding to sing to him instead. Once his song ends, Shuri jumps up and takes over the mic. The song begins, revealing Africa by Toto.
"I hear the drums echoing," Shuri sings, exaggerating her accent this time. She dances around, singing the whole song in an exaggerated accent. When she finished her song, MJ jumps up and takes over. Total Eclipse of the Heart. Except, every 'turn around' was replaces with 'suck my dick' and the phrase 'total eclipse of the heart' was replaced with 'total eclipse of the fart'. Not something you expected, but it had to be the best performance so far. Harley was the next to jump up and take over.
"I made it through the world a mess," he sings in a high-pitched voice. He sings the whole song to Ned and eventually, he reaches Ned, deciding to sit on his lap. "Like a virgin," he sings "touched for the very first time!" he practically moans rather than sings this time. This continues for the whole song, with Harley singing rather provocatively and dancing in a similar manner on Ned. At one point, Harley even threw himself onto Ned from behind the couch, he claims it was on purpose but everyone knew it was an accident. Once more, as Harley's song ended, you took over.
"We're gonna get a little emo here," you explain. The song begins after a short pause. They all look at you with big smiles. However, to add to the feel, you attach the karaoke mic to its stand and you tilt the stand over, standing over it dramatically like every rock star tends to do. You lean into the mic and begin. "Coming out of my cage and I've been doing just fine."
They all join in on singing with you. The loudness of it all attracts some newcomers into the room. You don't notice it until Wanda, Bucky, Steve, Sam, Natasha, Pepper, and your dad are all in the room, watching you headbang and scream to the song. The other five all jump up, turning on the other mic and sharing it as they sing along.
"It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss!" you all scream. You all jump around in unison throughout the whole song, none of you noticed how all the adults seem to have their phones out recording as well.  "Open up my eager eyes, cuz I'm Mr. Brightside!"
When the song comes to an end, you're all giggling and laughing as you hand the mic back to Ned. Before you can all process all the heroes in the room, Ned's song is starting up now. It was weird how every other song after seemed to be emo as well.
"Check yes Juliet, are you with me?" he sings along once the song begins. You're the next to jump up and join him. "Run baby run, don't ever look back!" you sing to each other.
Song after song, you all joined along and sang and danced together. However, once the karaoke stuff was over, and all the adults had left the room, another movie was being put on. It seemed almost unanimous, and the movie selected was the Nightmare Before Christmas. Everyone was tired now, so you all cuddled up on the couches. On the bigger couch in the back lies Ned with Harley nestled into his side. On the front right couch lies Shuri with her head on one side, Michelle with her head on the other side. On the front left couch, you lie up against the back of the couch as big spoon while Peter lies down next to you as little spoon.
Halfway through the movie, Tony follows a sleepy Morgan into the theater room. The little girl remains unaware of her father following in her footsteps. Tony felt her stir in bed and so he decided to check what the hell that was all about. He's about to ask her what she's doing but he stops himself when he sees all the sleeping teens. He watches the small girl scan the room, perking up when she sees you and Peter on one of the big couches. Tony watches as Morgan shakes her big sister's arm until you wake up. He watches you groggily pick the girl up, scooting closer to the back of the large couch, and squeezing her in. He notices Peter shift around before resting his arm over the two girls. He smiles rather fondly and has FRIDAY take a picture of the room, making sure to add a reminder to send the pictures to everyone in the morning.

My daughter,
I’m sure this letter comes as a bit of a shock to you. It’s a bit of a shock to me as well. I don’t know exactly where to start.
Leaving you was the hardest decision I ever had to make. But now that you’re older, I hope you can understand me. Even just a little. You were the biggest hope in my life, but I didn’t feel worthy of you. I didn’t want to raise a daughter whose only mother was dependent on someone else to support her. I didn’t have any options in the countryside, but I thought if I went to Seoul and came home successful…maybe you’d grow to respect me.
It sounds selfish writing it down. It was selfish. I am selfish.
To be honest, I didn’t intend on reaching out to you. As it stands, I’m working for a small company as a web designer. Not exactly the lofty dream I had when I left. I didn’t want to face you until I’d made something of myself, so you’d understand why I had to leave. But…well, things change over time I suppose.
I keep a close eye on the tabloids in Seoul because of my job, and when the news about Vante dropped I was intrigued. Truthfully, I’d been trying to get in with him for years. Ever since he showed up in the art scene. I wanted to help him market himself online.
I was perplexed, however, considering the fact that he seems quite reclusive and yet had a female companion with him in almost every photo. For a while, I was trying to figure out who that girl was so I could reach out to her. And as it turns out…you know the rest.
I don’t want you to think I’m exploiting you. I’d never want to do something like that. I’m really glad you were the girl, and not just for career aspects. I was shocked when I found out, and I immediately called a PI to find your address. It wasn’t cheap. But being able to speak with you after so long is a blessing.
I’d love to meet with you in person. Catch up. Talk about what you’ve been up to all these years. You’ve grown into such a beautiful young lady, and you’re doing so many exciting things. I’d love to hear all about them.
Please meet me at the address below on Sunday at 1 PM if you can. It’s a little coffee shop I like. I think it might be a nice place to reunite.
And I apologize for not writing a return address. I’m not sure how you’ll receive this, and I don’t want any legal trouble should you decide this letter is worth litigation.
Hoping to see you there.
Sincerely,
Mom
I’d read and reread the letter enough times to burn the script into my mind forever. If I shut my eyes, her words still floated around on the blacks of my lids. I’d never expected to hear from her again, and was content living my life independently from hers. Perhaps some deep, dark part of me was hoping to rub my success in her nose somehow, but…not like this. The nerve of her. To reach out to me after all these years…
Just because I knew Taehyung.
Something about that stung me in a place that was too tender to look at closely. I didn’t know why the pain was so visceral, but it felt deeper than just a blow to the ego.
I stared at the letter sitting on my coffee table, wrinkled and worn from my chronic folding and unfolding. It had only been a day, and my mind was still swimming in the letter. What right did she have to disrupt my life this way? Who was she to me anyway to be able to affect my waking hours? To consume my thoughts?
I sighed and flipped it over so I only saw my address. What a joke. She thought I might hand over the letter to the police or something? Everything about the letter disgusted me.
So why was that address now burned in the back of my mind?

I touched my pointer finger to my necklace, the ruby one Taehyung had given me so long ago, as I waited in the Sanyo Industries reception room. Yoongi sat beside me, playing with his hands. As decided during our meeting, Yoongi and I were dressed sharp: him in a nice pair of slacks and a pressed button-down, and me in my work skirt and a blouse I had to steam to get the wrinkles out. The reception area was vast, a wide room with wide windows and lots of empty space. The employee behind the desk eyed us now and then, and it was clear by the way she’d received us that she knew exactly who Yoongi was. She’d practically stuttered out her greeting as we entered the modern-looking office.
“Why should the son of a CEO have to wait in the reception office?” I mumbled under my breath with a sigh.
I hadn’t bothered asking Yoongi if he’d gone to meet Nara like I suggested, mostly for his own sake. Emanating from Yoongi’s very core was a jittery sense of anticipation. His eyes flashed wildly around the room, toward the elevators, toward the front doors, toward the marble floor. I’d never seen him so visibly nervous. He was always like Troy, impregnable. But it seemed his father was his own Trojan Horse, his undoing. I eyed him, awaiting a reaction, but none came. Almost like he didn’t hear me at all.
I gave his arm a poke and raised my brows as he jumped and looked at me with wide eyes. “Huh?” he asked, swallowing hard.
I sighed and crossed my arms. “Yoongi, you don’t look so good,” I said, tone softening as I watched him with furrowed brow.
He inhaled sharply and held his breath for a few seconds before letting it out in a puff that startled the receptionist. “Sorry,” he said quietly.
I smiled, attempting a gentle pat, but he was so jumpy that the touch of my palm on his shoulder almost made him shout. “If this is too much, you can go. Honestly, we mostly needed you to get me inside,” I said, then rolled my eyes and glanced out onto the street where Namjoon stood, smoking a cigarette. “Well, me and that idiot.”
Yoongi shook his head and braced himself on his knees, knuckles white as he held on to the tops of his knees. “No,” he said, shutting his eyes with a steadying breath. “I’m not here just to help you guys.”
I nodded. “Listen…you wanting to take responsibility — for yourself and for Nara — it’s really noble. I respect it. But…well, if you don’t mind me being a little nosy, you seem super rattled. I don’t know if this is the best move for your sake,” I said, watching him for any reaction.
He only opened his eyes and nodded, somber. “It’s probably stupid,” he said with a humorless laugh. “But…after spending so long with my head in the sand, I guess the guilt of it is catching up with me.”
“Guilt?”
He shrugged. “How many innocent people have had their lives ruined by my dad’s business? How many people like Nara have I just…left behind? Because it was too much responsibility?”
I raised my brows. “This is the first time I’ve heard you talking about reformation. You seemed a bit ambivalent,” I said, then shrugged. “Like Seokjin.”
“Neither of us are ambivalent, Y/N,” he said seriously, finally meeting my eyes head-on. “We both grew up seeing all the corruption and didn’t see any ways of making it better. Rather than ambivalent…we became cynical.”
I smoothed down my skirt, thinking. “I bet you’re not the only ones to become disillusioned,” I said, recalling that letter on my coffee table with a scowl. “Sometimes all we can do is accept that things are messed up and try to do the right thing on our own.”
He shook his head. “But what if I can’t accept that anymore?” he asked, brows knit as he implored me with his tender gaze. “What if I’ve been accepting it to avoid doing the right thing? Because the right thing is hard?”
I blinked at him, disarmed by the vulnerability in his eyes. “Yoongi…”
“I don’t deserve a free pass,” he said, serious as he scanned me. “Not when people are getting hurt.”
“What do you plan on doing?” I asked, raising my brows.
He settled back against his seat and his jitters slowed, knees stopping their anxious bounce. He anchored his gaze on something far away, perhaps something not physically here at all. “I’m gonna fix it.”
“Fix it?”
“The company,” he said with a steady nod. “From the inside. I’m gonna make it so that people don’t get hurt anymore. Like Ori.”
I watched him for a long moment, watched the way his jaw went staunch against his neck, and couldn’t help but admire his determination. Righteous outrage and a little bit of guilt. I exhaled in a puff and smirked, eyeing him sidelong. “Min Yoongi,” I said, and he glanced at me. There was an innocence in the rounds of his eyes, in the expectation in his parted lips. “You’ll do great,” I finished with a smile. I gave his shoulder a pat and nodded once.
He met my eyes and, slowly, a halfway there smile touched his features and he returned my nod. “Thanks,” he said, chuckling once, sharp.
“Excuse me?” called the receptionist, sounding uncertain. She had risen to her feet and was staring at us with her hands clasped in front of her stomach. She gave a smile I recognized from wearing it myself at work. “Mr. Min is ready to see you.”
I nodded and gave her a bow before catching Namjoon’s eye outside and jerking my head toward the elevator. He quickly stomped out his cigarette and rushed inside, smelling strongly of nicotine. I gave him a grimace and he responded with a smile, resting his hand on the small of my back and leading me down the hallway toward the elevator.
“Ah! Do you need help finding the office?” the receptionist called, craning her neck to peer after us.
Yoongi chuckled and shook his head, waving at her as he called for the elevator. “I think we’ll be okay. Thank you,” he said with a smile her way.
She blinked a few times before adjusting her hair and bowing, her head disappearing back around the corner. And, in silence, the three of us entered the elevator.

The CEO of Sanyo Industries was not the imposing man I was expecting. Perhaps I’d built him up as some sort of malevolent deity, but looking at him sitting in a chair that looked several inches too big for him, glasses slipping down the bridge of his nose, it was hard to see Mr. Min as the ruthless businessman I knew he was.
The office was spacious, like the reception area, and decorated with classic mahogany browns and deep reds. It looked like the sort of office you’d see in a rich man’s mansion. But Mr. Min himself didn’t quite match it. Mousy in the face with sallow skin and salt-and-pepper hair, he looked like someone’s quiet uncle, the one you only see at family get-togethers who you have trouble even making small talk with.
He cleared his throat and stared up at Yoongi and I, raising his brows. “Son,” he began, then chuckled, rubbing his nose bridge and shutting his eyes. “Is this some sort of marriage announcement?”
Yoongi sighed. “You’d know about any marriage before I would, Dad,” he said, eyes going dull.
“Well then, what brings you two here?” he asked, eyeing me. “And furthermore, who are you if not a fiancé?”
I glanced at Yoongi, waiting for him to speak. But he simply kept his eyes ahead, perhaps trying to tether himself to reality somehow. It wasn’t a part of the plan for me to be too vocal. And besides, I wasn’t so sure it was safe to speak much. If what yoongi said about his father was anything to go by, I’d be smart not to oppose him.
Namjoon had planned everything pretty meticulously. For the first time since arriving, I felt concerned that I’d mess up my role. And with Namjoon himself waiting outside the office so as not to spook Mr. Min right off the bat, I felt ill at ease with all of his attention squarely on me.
I played with the pendant on my necklace. “Uh,” I began, meeting the CEO’s eyes once more. “I’m, uh…I…work with Yoongi.”
He cocked a brow and smirked. “Ah, another criminal?” he asked, scoffing. “Really, Yoongi, when are you going to come to your senses and get serious?” His tone had taken a shift. Gone were the fleeting moments of jest and teasing. In its place was nothing short of frightful intensity, his gaze on Yoongi, boring into him through thin-rimmed glasses.
“Today,” said Yoongi, facing his father. “If things go well.”
Mr. Min leaned back and coughed a little, one of those innocuous old-man sounds that once again threw me for a loop. Was he any suburban dad you might see at the Han River or was he a cutthroat criminal?
“That’s…very good news,” he said, then eyed me with a scowl. “Although if you’re looking to get your friend a job, I can confidently say not a chance.”
I was nearly hurt by his comment before remembering just what sort of company he ran. I took my bruised pride and, clearing my throat, crossed my arms. “I’m not looking for work,” I said.
He hummed. “Well, Yoongi, I can’t say I’m unhappy to hear about your change of heart,” he said, giving Yoongi the ghost of a smile.
Yoongi cleared his throat and rubbed his palms together. “There’s a condition.”
“Condition?” asked Mr. Min, his expression darkening.
“Call off your hit on Ori.”
He chuckled. “You think having you under my wing is worth letting my biggest competitor go?” he asked, raising his brows. “That’s shockingly confident. Even for you.”
Yoongi shook his head. “No,” he said, locking eyes with his father. “I know that’s not enough.”
“Then what’s the rest of your bid?” he asked with a smirk. “You know you can’t prove I’ve got a hit on Ori.”
I cleared my throat and took a step forward, rifling through my bag to grab my phone. “That’s,” I began, but had to pause since my phone was hidden beneath my wallet. I chuckled to myself, nervous, and continued once I had my cell phone in my hand. “That’s where I come in.”
Mr. Min stared at me, but his teasing once again halted. Quietly, I pressed play on my cell phone. The recording played and I took the moment of respite to lean back, inelegant and unceremonious, to knock on the door twice, alerting Namjoon to his cue.
Mr. Min’s gaze went hard like obsidian and it locked on me. “That’s Kim Seokjin?”
Yoongi stepped forward, crossing his arms. “Take action against Jin and we’ll release the recording and tell the press. You might not be aware, but Y/N has become pretty intimately familiar with news outlets these days, being Vante’s secret woman and everything.”
Mr. Min’s face flushed and his eyes skittered between us like a cornered animal. “You’re her…,” he said with a nod. He rubbed his temples and an almost childish smile touched his face. Shutting his eyes, he nodded again as the door opened and Namjoon stepped inside. “You’ve outplayed me, haven’t you?”
Yoongi adjusted his cuffs and cleared his throat. “Sorry, Dad,” he said, sighing. “But I can’t sit back and watch you ruin people’s lives anymore.”
His father opened his eyes and they were sharp, angry, but there was a margin of respect in them. “So this is your offer? You come on under me and you don’t air Sanyo’s dirty laundry?”
Yoongi nodded once sharply. “Yes.”
He smirked and glanced at Namjoon who had taken the spot at my other side. “I suppose you’re here to discuss the logistics,” he said, chuckling. “You two can leave. This is a discussion between businessmen.”
Namjoon grinned and pulled out the plush chair in front of Mr. Min’s desk before settling in. “It is,” he said, turning around to smile at Yoongi and me. “I’ll meet you two downstairs when we’re done here,” he continued. Yoongi and I each turned halfway toward the door, and as my fingers clasped around the doorknob, Namjoon called, “Oh and Y/N?”
I glanced at him over my shoulder. “Yes?” I asked, eager to leave the intimidating place.
He smirked. “Have your friend send her resume to my secretary. She’ll schedule her for an interview with my hiring department.”
A small smile spread across my face as I opened the door. I nodded and he returned it, grinning. “I will,” I said, leading Yoongi out into the hallway once more.
Tumblr media
I awoke to pounding at my front door. Groaning, I rubbed my eyes and pushed myself upright on the couch. I must have fallen asleep shortly after returning home from Sanyo. Namjoon had emerged two hours later with a big grin and a new contract with Yoongi’s father stating neither company would attack the other moving forward. And although Namjoon hadn’t been the one to strike first, his strategic prowess had proven extremely useful as by the end Mr. Min was offering a collaborative project. Namjoon wouldn’t tell me whether he’d accepted the project or not, but I suspected I knew his principles well enough to know exactly where he’d told Mr. Min to shove that offer.
Yoongi had stayed behind to hash things out with his dad, and he told me not to worry about him. Of course, I worried anyway, because as his back retreated back toward the elevator, he looked so small. Too small for this big corporate world.
But my worries were quickly assuaged as he turned slightly before entering the elevator and shot me a playful smirk and a wink. As I moved to respond, he quickly hopped into the elevator and that was the last I saw of him.
Once I’d gotten home, I’d practically fallen into a puddle on the couch, turning on the TV and letting whatever cable show was on play as my mind wandered away from me. I wasn’t sure when I’d fallen asleep or how long I’d been out, but the knocking was incessant and demanding.
Groggy, I wandered toward the door and opened it without checking the peephole, rubbing the back of my head with a groan. “Hello?”
“Why the hell didn’t you tell me?”
I pried my eyes open and saw Taehyung fuming in the doorway. I furrowed my brow and blinked at him. “What time is it?”
He sighed. “It’s midnight. Why are you still dressed up?” he asked, finally scanning me before shaking his head and waving his hands. “No, that’s not important! Why did you keep this whole plan from me? Don’t I have the right to know?”
My senses had returned to me and, gently, I took his forearm and led him inside the apartment. He followed, albeit unwillingly, and pouted down at me. He was dressed in leisure wear, likely having run here from his apartment once Namjoon told him what happened without so much as grabbing a jacket.
I sat him down on the couch and smiled. “I’m sorry,” I said.
He opened his mouth to say something but shut it quickly with a sigh, gripping his nose bridge. “Shit,” he mumbled. “I can’t scold you if you apologize first.”
I laughed and nodded. “I know,” I said, then shook my head. “I really am sorry, for what it’s worth.”
He eyed me from between his fingers and cocked a brow. “Why didn’t you tell me, though? Really?”
I rubbed his arm with a smile. “I didn’t want you to take this on too,” I said. “With everything that happened with the gala…I figured you’d do something unnecessary again. You’d handle things on your own and demand I stay out of it,” I began, pausing to rub my hands together. “I know it’s annoying, but I thought that there had to be a way to fix things without someone sacrificing themselves.”
“What about your friend? That Yoongi kid? Didn’t he sacrifice himself?” he asked.
I chuckled, remembering that mischievous wink, that boy with his head in his computer, that guy who saved a stray dog and bought expensive food for it. “No,” I said, smiling. “He’s found something new to be passionate about.”
Taehyung sighed and ran a hand through his hair. “I hate that I can see your point,” he said, shaking his head. “I wish I could’ve helped you more.”
Gently, I touched the pendant on my collarbone and smiled at him. “You did help, Taehyung,” I said, and his eyes flashed toward me. “More than you can possibly know. You showed me that I’m stronger when I speak out. That I have what it takes to advocate for myself.”
His shoulders slumped with a sigh and he glanced toward the coffee table where Mom’s letter still sat, wrinkled. “You would’ve figured it out on your own eventually,” said Taehyung with a pout.
I smiled. “No,” I said, shaking my head. “I don’t think I would have.” I sighed and watched the letter as if it might change the longer I looked at it. “It took you to shake it out of me.”
“Well…that’s one contribution at least,” he said with a sigh.
“It bothers me.”
He sat upright and stared at me wide-eyed. “Huh?”
I shook my head. “Not that you’ve been helping me, but that it took someone else pushing me for me to finally get myself together,” I said, brow furrowed as I leaned back against the couch cushions. I crossed my arms and stewed over it, still staring at the letter. “I feel like everything I’ve done has been because of either you or Jungkook.”
Taehyung stiffened. “Wait, what?”
I sat up and frowned. “Yeah. The more I think about it, the more annoyed I get,” I said, thinking about that stupid letter. If not for Taehyung, I probably would never have heard from my mom again.
“Y/N, you just got home from blackmailing a billionaire CEO,” he said, raising his brows. “I don’t think any of that had to do with me or Jungkook.”
I shook my head. “I dunno,” I said, trying to name the gnawing feeling in the pit of my stomach.
Taehyung sighed and leaned into the couch, glancing up toward the TV. “What’re you watching?”
“I’m not sure,” I said, reclining beside him albeit uneasily as my thoughts kept swirling.
We both watched the screen for a moment and I felt the call of sleep beckoning again. Why with Taehyung did I always fall asleep? Perhaps he was a comfortable person. Our relationship had after all began when he left me trinkets while I slept at work.
“My agent wants me to start thinking about doing a documentary,” he said, like the thought couldn’t remain in his head.
I hummed. “Weird,” I said with a nod. “About you?”
“Yeah. Since public interest is so high right now, she thinks it might be a good time to start working on something,” he said, then shook his head. “But I don’t wanna be followed by a big film crew that I don’t know and everyone she’s suggested has been awkward.”
“Hm,” I said, resting my head against the back of the couch, eyes fluttering shut.
“I just want a small company, you know? If I’m going to do it, that is,” he continued, but his voice was growing more and more distant.
And before I knew it, I was asleep.
Tumblr media
“Hey-wait, what the fuck?”
“Oh…sorry.”
“I…you…what are you even doing here?”
“I fell asleep.”
“Why were you here late?”
“Because I-…ah, forget it.”
I groaned and rolled over, tumbling off the couch and onto the rug. I stared up at the front door, the source of the noise, and saw Jungkook in the doorway. Smiling, I gave him a wave and pushed up to my bottom.
“Morning,” I mumbled, rubbing my eyes.
Jungkook gave me a pout. “Don’t give me that cute face,” he said, jerking a thumb at Taehyung who, by that point, I’d only just begun to register as being in my apartment at all. “What’s he doing here?”
“He came over last night to scold me,” I said, standing to my feet with the help of the coffee table. My fingers brushed Mom’s letter and I recoiled like I’d touched a hot stove.
“Scold you?” asked Jungkook, eyes round. He tuned to Taehyung and frowned. “Why were you scolding her? And why didn’t you do it during business hours?”
“Jungkook,” I said, laughing as I approached. I gave his shoulder a pat before breezing past him into the bathroom to brush my teeth. I’d slept in my work skirt and blouse, so both were horribly wrinkled now. Great, and I still had to get to work in a few hours. “What are you doing here, Kook?” I called out into the hallway.
But to my surprise, both boys had followed me in to the bathroom and were beginning to cram themselves into the small space with me. I shouted as Jungkook shoved my pelvis into the countertop with his hip so he could perch on the toilet seat. Taehyung left a more reasonable distance between us and lingered in the doorway.
“I heard about what happened with Yoongi. Jin told me Yoongi’s leaving Bangtan and gave me an out too,” he said, then gave Taehyung a cautious look. “Can I talk about this with him?”
I chuckled and nodded, swishing my mouth with water. “Mhm,” I said.
Taehyung hummed. “So you’re leaving the shady business?”
Jungkook, his defenses lowering, nodded and returned his eyes to me. “Yeah. I want to do what I love instead.”
“What do you love?” asked Taehyung.
“I wanna make movies,” said Jungkook with a soft smile. “I bet you’d get it, being an artist and everything.”
Taehyung smiled and nodded. “Boy do I,” he said with a sigh. “Deciding to leave home and go it alone was really tough, but once I did it I never regretted it. Not even for a second.”
Jungkook grinned. “That’s comforting to hear, at least.”
I glanced between them a few times as the beginnings of a scheme began working in my brain. “You two are actually really similar, now that I think about it,” I said with a nod.
Jungkook scoffed. “No way,” he said with a snort.
I shot a warning glance at him and he quieted down. “I mean it,” I said. “You both see beauty in the ordinary and want to capture that.”
Taehyung raised his brows. “Is that something you’re interested in, Jungkook?”
He pouted and shrugged, watching the floor. “Yeah, I guess.”
Taehyung chuckled. “Man, I wish I would’ve known sooner! I take photos, so if you ever want to go and get some material, I’m free.”
Jungkook glanced up with wide eyes. “Huh?” he asked.
Taehyung nodded. “Yeah. Video is really dynamic, but I don’t have an eye for it. I’d love to see your process.”
Jungkook smiled, just a little, and sat up straighter. “Wait, you mean it?”
“Yeah, of course,” said Taehyung with a laugh. “Give me your number and we can plan something.”
I smiled knowingly and leaned back against the wall so the two could exchange contact information. “You know,” I began, rubbing Jungkook’s shoulder. “Jungkook’s working for a film company now.”
Jungkook stiffened. “N-Not yet! I just sent off my video, but-,”
“But you’re in. I saw that video, Kook. And, as an art curator, I’m telling you it’s good,” I said.
Taehyung’s eyes went wide. “For real?” he asked.
Jungkook shrugged, his knees spread wide as he sat slumped slightly. “Yeah. Probably, anyway.”
Taehyung scoffed. “Well…I might have a really big project for you guys if you’re interested.”
Jungkook stiffened. “What?”
“Let’s chat about it today. Y/N, do you mind if I steal him for a while?” asked Taehyung.
I smiled and gestured toward Jungkook with both hands. “He’s all yours.”
Jungkook glanced up at me, wide-eyed. “Wait, what’s happening?”
I chuckled. “Meet me after work, okay?” I asked with a smile, patting his shoulder as I slid past both of them to get ready for my shift.
Tumblr media
As I was getting ready to leave work, I noticed a few text messages on my phone from while I was working. Smiling, I unlocked it and read over the text.
Nararawr: I’ve got an interview with Ori.
Nararawr: The receptionist said I had to interview properly if I wanted the job, no handouts.
Nararawr: IDK you did, but…thank you. I’ll be sure to do my best!
Nararawr: Yoongi came by my class on Monday. I assume that’s also your doing :P
Nararawr: He said he had some things to explain to me, so we’re meeting up on Friday to talk about everything. Methinks it’s a…*gasp*…DATE?!
Nararawr: At any rate, thank you. I won’t waste this opportunity. Thank you for letting me get this myself. I appreciate you more than I say.
I ran a finger along my screen and chuckled. Of course he’d gone. I knew he would. Gently, I typed out a response.
Y/N: Hey, I didn’t do much. I’m just glad everything worked out. Let’s meet up on Saturday to chat! I’ve also got some things to explain to you. And besides I wanna hear about you…*gasp*…DATE?!
I smiled and slid my phone into my purse, removing my ascot and stuffing it inside along with it. The shift was quick, quicker than usual as I’d been scheduled during a busier time of day. The midday rush had died down by the end, and Areum gave me a four-fingered wave goodbye as I made my way back toward the exit from the break room. But as I stepped into the hall, Mr. Kwon jogged up behind me and grabbed my shoulder. I jumped a little and spun around to face him.
“Y/N! Thank God I caught you,” he said with a breathless laugh.
I smiled and gave him a bow. “Is there anything I can help you with, Sir?” I asked.
“If you have time, I’d love you to join me for a meeting right now,” he said.
“With who?” I asked.
“It’s-,” he began, but paused with a chuckle.
He grinned and glanced over my shoulder as the elevator dinged and out walked a few familiar faces. No way. Two of the Japanese philanthropists I’d sold paintings to all those weeks ago. It felt like a lifetime. I bowed deeply at each of them.
“Hello,” I said once I stood upright once more.
“Ah! Are you going to be in the meeting as well?” asked one man with a smile.
I took a peek at Mr. Kwon who gave me an encouraging nod and a smile, and turned back to the philanthropists. “Um…yes,” I said with a smile.
“Wonderful!” he said. “I was telling Mr. Kwon that we’d love to have you.”
“Have me…?” I began, but Mr. Kwon simply laughed and shuffled me back into the gallery, leading all of us to his office.
Tumblr media
I stared at the letter on my coffee table, now dressed in my favorite turtleneck and the same skirt I’d worn to meet Jungkook for our study date, months and months ago. Any minute, he’d show up in his car, awaiting my arrival so we could go somewhere. Anywhere.
And still, here I was. Staring at that stupid letter. What did I think would happen if I kept looking at it? Would it suddenly sprout wings and fly away? Would it burn up in flames?
My phone buzzed and I knew he was here. I leapt to my feet and, without thinking, swiped the letter and pocketed it before rushing out the front door to meet Jungkook downstairs.
Tumblr media
Jungkook and I sat beneath the dome stars, resting on a blanket in the grass at a park by my apartment. One I hadn’t been to in a long time. Neither of us was saying much, not after the initial flood of information exchange. How he was going to be in touch with Taehyung regarding that documentary, how the two are actually pretty compatible, how everything had gone with Yoongi at Sanyo.
Now there was just silence. The comfortable kind.
I knew I had to tell him about what had happened in the meeting today. If anyone needed to know, it was him.
But I let myself indulge in the silence for a moment longer. “My mom wrote to me,” I said, resting on my palms as I stared up at the fresh, cloudless autumn night sky. Stars splayed out like paint splatters.
Jungkook glanced at me, eyes wide. “She did?” he asked.
I nodded. “Yeah. She wants to meet me.”
“She…she does?”
“Yeah,” I said with a chuckle. “I thought…I thought I might feel really vindicated when this moment finally came, but I kinda just feel…empty.”
“Empty…,” repeated Jungkook softly.
I nodded. “Because she wants to meet with me to get to Taehyung,” I said with a nod. “Isn’t it a little pathetic? Reaching out to your estranged daughter once she can benefit you?” I chuckled. “And what’s more pathetic is that I’m actually considering going.”
“Y/N,” said Jungkook softly, chiding. “I’ll support whatever choice you make,” he said, eyes boring into me intently.
I smiled and leaned toward him, giving him a chaste peck, and nodded. “Thank you,” I said with a sigh. “You know, it’s been bothering me for a while now,” I said, touching the ruby necklace where it met my skin. “I wonder what I’d be on my own. Who I’d be. Without you or Taehyung or Dad or Nara or anyone supporting me.”
“That’s a sad thought,” said Jungkook softly.
I shook my head. “It’s not,” I said. “I wanna know, Jungkook. All my life…I’ve been holding on to people so tight that I forgot I’m also a person worth holding on to. I forgot that I’m a person at all.”
Jungkook reached out and laced our fingers gently, inching closer. “I understand.”
“And I appreciate you for that,” I said, chuckling. “But…I wanna know what I’m made of when I’m on my own. Up until now, the only thing making me move forward has been circumstance. I haven’t done anything by myself. I haven't grown because I actively wanted to become better, but because I’ve been forced to through my relationships with you. With Taehyung. With Namjoon. With…everyone.”
Jungkook nodded. “You wanna stand on your own two feet.”
“Yeah.”
“You wanna see what you’re capable of,” he said, smiling.
I smiled too. “Which is why I’m gonna take a job offer in Japan.”
Jungkook coughed a little, sputtering, before staring down at me with wide eyes. “Wait, what? Where the hell did that come from?”
I laughed. “Today, my boss at the gallery offered me a year-long position at a new gallery they’re opening in Tokyo. He’s been having these talks with a bunch of philanthropists who I sold paintings to. I guess they really wanted to have me on the team at least for the first year to train new employees. I’ll be done with my degree in a few months anyway and I’ll be a manager,” I said, watching his expression change from shock to something like respect, mingling with a tinge of sadness.
“I…Y/N, that’s incredible,” Jungkook said, laughing as he swept me up in his arms. “I mean, I’ll miss you like hell but this is an amazing opportunity. You’d be crazy not to take it.”
I smiled and held on to him tightly, inhaling the sweet, gentle scent of his cologne, feeling the firm expanse of his chest. He rubbed my side, tender, and pulled back to press his palm against my cheek, smiling. “Let’s call it…our test period,” I said with a grin. He raised his brows. “After everything that happened, I can’t say I trust you one-hundred percent.”
He nodded. “I get it.”
“So…this year abroad,” I began, resting my hand atop his as he smoothed his fingers against my cheek. “If we still feel the same way about each other when I get home, then we can start again. For real this time.”
He swallowed hard and smiled, his thumb rubbing circles into my warm skin. “A test period,” he repeated with a nod. “I know I’ll pass.”
I laughed and gave his stomach a poke. “Don’t get cocky. I also have to pass,” I said with a smile.
“I’ll make sure you pass,” he said with a wink.
I shoved him away and stuck out my tongue, miming gagging. “We’ll see,” I teased.
He smiled. “I’m really proud of you,” he said.
I raised my brows. “You are?”
He nodded. “A few months ago, you wouldn’t be able to take this opportunity. You would have held yourself back and let it go to someone else.”
I blinked at my lap as I thought. “I…I guess so, huh?”
“The you from before…I don’t think the you today would like her much,” he said with a chuckle. “Do you?”
The letter suddenly felt heavy in my pocket, like it was burning a hole. Without another word, I pulled it out and stared at it, off-white, worn at the corners. And I took it in both hands before yanking each corner, tearing it clean in half. And again. And again. And again and again until the pieces were small as confetti. Then I opened my palm and let the gentle, chilly breeze carry the scraps away, gone forever into the streets of Seoul.
“That was brave,” said Jungkook from beside me, rubbing my back.
I smiled, a sense of ease washing over me, and turned to him. “I’m about to do something braver,” I said, meeting his curious eyes with a smirk.
I reached out and clamped both hands on his cheeks. He gasped a little as I yanked his face down to meet mine. I tried to convey with a kiss exactly what I needed him to understand. That he wasn’t a bad person, just lost for a while. That he deserved to be happy. That he was strong and smart and talented and so full of potential. That what I felt for him wasn’t something transient, like receipts, like a memo. That it was forever.
He leaned into the kiss, deepening it slightly with a tilt of his head. His lips were sweet with chapstick and soft, never pushy, gentle always. And as I slowly let my fingers play with the hair at the nape of his neck, I felt him growing flushed, the heat from his face reaching mine through the small fraction of space between us.
Slowly, I pulled away and met his eyes, smiling. “I love you, too,” I said finally.
His eyes glittered with growing moisture and he smiled slightly, scoffing. “Jeez, baby,” he said, wiping his eyes. “You surprised me,” he mumbled.
I chuckled and reached around to the clasp on my necklace, removing it and holding it in my fingers. Slowly, I took his hand and flipped it palm up. I dropped the necklace and smiled at him.
“What’s this about?” he asked, eyeing me.
I closed his fingers around the necklace and patted his fist. “Hold on to that for me,” I said. “And don’t give it back to me until I come back from Japan.”
“Huh?”
“I’ll only take it back when I’ve proven that I can stand on my own two feet,” I said with a nod.
He furrowed his brow before meeting my gaze once more. “You want me to keep this for a year?”
I smirked. “It’ll also keep other girls from getting too cozy if they see that in your room.”
He gaped. “Y/N!” he shouted. “You really think I’m gonna be seeing other people while you’re gone?!”
I shrugged. “I dunno.”
“Wait…are you gonna see other people?!” he shouted, pointing an accusing finger my way.
“I dunno,” I repeated, giggling.
He frowned and leaned down to press a pouty kiss to my lips. “You’d better not or I’ll fly over there give you an earful.”
I laughed, ruffling his hair. “One year…are you sure you like me enough to hold out that long?”
His expression softened and he took my hand in his, pressing a kiss to my palm. “That much and more,” he said gently. “I’ll wait as long as I have to.”
And with that, I smiled and gave his hand a squeeze. I didn’t know where life would lead us, or what might change in a year. I wasn’t sure how I’d tell Dad, how I’d tell Nara. But I knew enough. I knew that the people in my life were good, that they deserved to be beside me. I knew that the ones who walked away from me weren’t meant to stay, and that they weren’t meant to come back either. I knew that the person I was becoming was someone I could finally believe in. And I knew that I could trust the people I loved to be there, always.

Okay so hi this is Mal again with just a quick thing! It's 2am as I write this and I've been having sleep difficulties all week, so please excuse any incoherence, but anyways…
I really got into Boku no Hero Acedemia this week as a way for me to distract from current events - it had been on my radar for a while and I finally bit the bullet and I freaking LOVE IT :)
I've just finished ep 46 on crunchyroll and while I managed to spoiler myself for some things by getting excited and going fic hunting, too many future plot details might discourage me from watching further which I 100% do not want thankyou. If you're willing to be patient and let me yell/liveblog I might love you forever however XD
I'm probs only looking for future Canon settings and AUs right now (IF YOU'RE INTO HDM DAEMON AUS PLZ MARRY ME NOW) since I'm not yet up to date with Canon, but of the characters I can likely play are - Bakugo, Kirishima, Aiwaza, Tsu-chan, and Todoroki.
I could probably do Deku in a pinch, and I'm pretty interested in doing Deku/Todoroki from that angle, but I'm not sure if I'm all that confident with him yet? Also I am super here for Bakugo/Kirishima and the idea of Kaachan getting his ass whumped to the point he'll accept comfort lol
Besides that, while I don't do canon/OC pairings under any circumstances (sorry, just not my bag!) I would be really interested in doing some non-canon OC work in the BNHA setting? Quirks or Quirkless, lawful or lawless. Let's fuck it up, yo XD
As to myself, I'm a 30-something transdude living in the UK (GMT) atm and due to previous health issues I'm p much a Vulnerable Person and therefore housebound to avoid risk of being Infected :/
Anyways, if any of this interests you please contact me via -
Or Skype: lilacsofthedead
I do have a discord but I'm not really good at it, it just rubs me wrong for whatever reason :/ Ideally I RP via email or gdocs but I love getting to know you and like I said, having someone to yell at about Cinnamon Roll Deku-kun and Co :)
Good luck!

Okay underrated relationship from OOO - Ankh and Shingo, spoilers ofc.
Okay, so you know me, and you know how I’m joking that Kamen Riders OOO’s real title is Kamen Rider BOys plz talk tO eachOther. That’s still super true. Eiji didn’t trust Ankh till I think eps 47+, Ankh didn’t trust Eiji too. I mean they trusted eachother when it comes to fighting, not in general.
Yes, I’ve allways thought this is nice lessons for kiddos. You don’t have to like someone to work with them, you don’t have to trust this person in general to trust they will do their job. Japan is all about cooperation so it’s good lesson. Yet. Boys plz, talk to eachother.
Those two don’t know their motifs literally till the end. They had to finish all their businesses with eachother to notice they like eachother beyond that. That’s there is more between them than just “usefullness”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(oh mygod Ryon looks SO GOOD in this ep)
The only person who trust Ankh, and I do belive trust him almost completly... is Izumi Shingo. Something that weren’t said propertly in the show. Shingo knows Ankh the best, knows his weeknesses, knows his moitfs.
Shingo is with Ankh entire season and he said it himself, he remeber everything. This is still his body and even if he is not in Ankh’s mind and he don’t hear his thoughts, he still feels bodys reaction to those thoughts. Ankh is way too closed to rest of characters, but Shingo feels whenever Ankh smile. Stomach pains because of stress? Little buterflies or even a relief when he is holding his medals? Tears of frustration and anger? Long sleepless nights worring about future? All this emotions that Ankh allowed himself to show ONLY when no one was watching him? He wanted it or not (probably not) Shingo was with him entire time.
In this scene:
Tumblr media
Writers did everything for Eiji not to hear it. That was important, couse Eiji is this kind of person who will get soft over Ankh in seconds, but he coudn’t yet couse Plot™ that makes Shingo the only person who heard that.
Tumblr media
(that he use his body) I don’t think so.
Shingo also aknowladge every times Ankh saved Hina, every time he covered her when monster attacked. That’s why Shingo was ready to save Ankh as fast as Eiji, even if he possesed him and used him for a year. That’s why Shingo is so dedicated to help him. Couse he like him the most. Couse he understand Ankh. That’s ironic, couse most of the time host hates his ‘parasite’ (did I just call Ankh parasite lol) in other stories. This is, I think, pretty regular trope for hosts, but Shingo’s relationship with Ankh is different.
Look at Shingo here:
Tumblr media
Is he really affraid? or is he more like “are we really have to do it?” and “okay you won’t listen me, dont you?”. He knows how desperate Ankh is. He understand how much he is able to do to be complete and he understand this feeling. Ankh doesn’t have time to listen Shingo, he needs body and he needs it now. He don’t know Shingo that much and he don’t trust him, but Shingo do. He choked him, yes, that wasn’t.. really nice thing to do, but I think Ankh wanted to: 1) make Shingo obey faster, couse he didn’t belive Shingo would ever let him enter himself 2) convince everyone and himself, that he is still Greeed™, that he is still egoistic little sh*t (he is not) and he do not care about humans (he do)
Tumblr media
(they did they best to animate it, yet hahahah)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
still Ankh let him say it. Couse they both know it: he is okay.
Tumblr media
“Okay, enough with your siblings bullshit, I need this body, go to sleep, bye, see Hina? He is fine.”
Except for Shingo no one trusted him here :/ they didn’t want to listen and make a plan. At first Ankh is almost like “okay, I’m back, let’s talk and.... oh shit, shit shit he is gonna kill me”

TLDR: one of the best directs ever for ME personally! GREAT and UNEXPECTED smash stuff! INSANELY SURPRISED at a sequel well be getting like this is the BIGGEST news for me i jumped up n down screaming (but no it isn’t jsr3). I REALLY STILL THINK WE'RE GETTING A CHAR FROM THIS GAME LATER! like this almost confirms it? honestly realistically imo there were better characters to have as a real char anyhow.
(later) lol i'm torn actually. i hope we get a real char from that... BUT i'm happy the content is dropping so soon! and i'm def buyin 2 of the skins! and the new char is AWESOME so! just again we need more non-boys like ffs...

another bizarre remaster of a n64 shooter since nintendo won't do virtual console? i'll buy it. i'm down. (it's not goldeneye guys srry). i'm rly glad ppl are tryin to fill in the virtual console gaps. nintendo, you suck.
OMG FINALLY JESUS CHRIST fucking nintendo. sure wish it was ACTUAL virtual console? but this helps a lot. doesn't reverse ur scummy gaming history erasure? but... lol it's hard to be excited about the bare minimum but i still am? (the accessory is neat too btw like maybe worth buying if i ever hack).
this has been an amazing direct so far for me like WHAT the fuck. so weird that i hate nintendo more than ever? but their system/games are the best they've ever been. well anyways moving on...
oh cool i've wanted to check out this series for a while n this new one seems better than ever! but... i won't have time w it lol... more new games i won't have time for/don't want spoiled! okay okay.
portssss. the ones of ollld games are cool. fine. okay... WAIT ew is this rly a ps/xbox-like awful games montage w the most BORING electronic music? ugh these make me feel a lil sick... never expected to see one of these outta nintendo. ew. volume OFF.
OH WHOA GREAT a game i rly wanted was buried in there at least? and a few remasters/ports that look cool. no ty i don't want all the content for this game spoiled skippinggg. fyi any big game that was already announced before i just skip over bc IDK maybe having a game's content not being old news even before it comes out? is a good thing?? what the fuck is wrong w spoiler culture...
LOL a port/rm of a REALLY good game that i rly wish i had time to play/finish! i already own it tho... it's cool tho! just nothin for me to get all excited about. but this is big news for others prob!

Disclosure: I haven’t seen The Last Jedi yet *shakes tiny fists at the sky* so I may be making incorrect assumptions based on what I’ve read in my SPOIL ME PLZ, I NEED TO KNOW IT ALL quest. ;) That said! Spoilers ahoy, if you’re avoiding Star Wars: The Last Jedi talk! :D
So we have this exchange between Kylo and Rey that seemingly solidifies the Rey Nobody theory, right?
Kylo: “Do you want to know the truth about your parents? Or have you always known. And just hidden it away. You know the truth. Say it. Say it.”
Rey: “They were nobody.”
Kylo: “They were filthy junk traders who sold you off for drinking money. Dead in a pauper’s grave in the Jakku desert. You have no place in this story. You come from nothing. You’re nothing. But not to me.”
So, the thing of it is... I love Kylo but I really believe my boy is straight-up lying through his teeth here. I think he knows full-well that Rey’s parents are “somebody” (i.e. at least one of them already established in the SW universe). Why? Because he’s doing his dead-level best to convince her that he’s the only one who values her, essentially that the way for her to mean something is to ally herself with him (because, remember, he’s getting ready to make his sale’s pitch in just a second here ;) )
I don’t believe he saw either Luke or Leia and Han as her parent(s) because if he HAD, I think he would’ve altered his pitch to take advantage of it: “You were abandoned by your father, just like I was by mine! But, Rey, we share the same blood! Together, we can finish what our grandfather started!”
But... What if he saw that her grandfather was Obi-Wan? Yes, I think the Rey Kenobi theory is still in play as a potential Ep9 bombshell. There’s NO WAY he would tell her that. He’s wanting her to come play for his team. Telling her that she’s related to the man who fought against Darth Vader isn’t going to convince her to join him, it’s going to do the opposite. So thus, he lies. He tells her something that might sway her, that she’s “nobody” to the rest of the galaxy but she’s somebody to him.
Just something that popped to mind in that scene. Like I said, I love him but he’s still Dark Side and I can’t see that he’d have any problem lying to accomplish his goal. ;) Plus, I love the idea of a Kenobi bringing a fallen Skywalker back to the Light (or, at least, to the gray! ;) ) after a Kenobi lost a Skywalker to the Dark in the first place. Talk about balance, right? ;)

The Last Jedi review, sorta
I don’t think I’ve talked enough (if at all) about what a huge Star Wars nerd I am on this blog, mostly because I didn’t love TFA as much as most people seemed to and I just never joined in the renewed fandom frenzy.
TL;DR on my views on TFA: It was fun enough, some interesting new characters, beautiful visuals, but I’d seen that movie before.  It came out in ‘77 and it was much better then.  Homage is one thing, rip off is completely another.  Mostly, I guess I was just disappointed that they didn’t dare to try and move the universe forward a bit, beyond the already trodden path.
Say what you will about the prequels, but I will always, always maintain there’s nothing wrong with them a better script and director couldn’t fix.  George tries, bless him, but he can’t write dialogue worth a damn.  Not even Meryl Streep could’ve made the line “So love has blinded you” any better than Natalie Portman did, and both she and Hayden have proven themselves to be much better actors than they were in Star Wars.  I’m not bothering with Ewan because he was one of the few really great things about the Prequels.
That having been said, what George can do is weave a decent background story, and the Prequel Trilogy’s story is much, much richer than the OT’s.  Taking off our nostalgia-colored glasses for a moment, let us be honest: the OT was so successful because it did a very simple thing, and did it well, and had a cast with wonderful chemistry. The story itself is nothing to rave about: just your simple Evil Empire vs Plucky Rebels story.  But the Prequels actually got political and much darker than the OT did, they just did it clumsily.  Still, it was something new in the Star Wars universe and George always tried to expand the known worlds by giving us even small glimpses of other cultures and planets.  Don’t forget that Star Wars was never meant to be high-brow Science Fiction a la Philip Dick, but a space adventure.  This doesn’t mean that the story can’t have nuance, but the point of Star Wars was always to be a fairytale exploration of a fictional galaxy.
Compared to that, the new trilogy seemed extremely lacking to me.  And seeing The Last Jedi a few days ago really cemented that.  Never before have I seen so many things happening in one movie while nothing really happens at all.  It makes Attack of the Clones look interesting in comparison, and that’s saying a lot.  ALSO LUKE, WTF HAS THE MOUSE DONE TO MY SPACE SON, THE FUCKING GALL.
So yes, surprise-surprise, TLJ manages to rip off Empire (with a dash of Battlestar Galactica thrown in for good measure) and does so poorly.  It was not a terrible film by any means, but I honestly thought it was no better than Phantom Menace. And Phantom Menace had the Duel of Fates.  So.
(okay, to be fair, TLJ didn’t have Jar Jar so that’s one point in its favor)
In a nutshell:
(cut for spoilers)
THE GOOD
- Poe.  Poe was good. Moar Poe, there was a serious lack of Poe in TFA and it has been rectified, this was a very good decision.
- The silent scene.  Y’all know the one.  People in my theater literally gasped in unison.  I was bored outta my skull up until then and as soon as I realized what Holdo was about to do, I sat up, all ‘oshit’ and it was amazing.  Beautifully shot, beautifully clever, and the most badass hero death in the SW universe.  Only comes in second in terms of best scene in the movie because the other one involved a more established and beloved character.
- MY SON LUKE KICKING HIS NEPHEW’S ASS LIKE IT AIN’T NO BIG THANG.  In full disagreement over how shit went down between them in the past, but Luke showing Kylo who’s the most goddamn powerful Jedi in the galaxy (which Luke did canonically become in later years btw) was such a rewarding scene.  Also, he was dressed in black.  Like in ROTJ. Because fuck yeah.
- Rey’s parentage.  Most people probably hated that she’s not a Skywalker but I just... kinda loved the suggestion that she was the Force’s answer to Kylo?  It’s happened before with Anakin, so this isn’t exactly new, and Anakin, too, came from ‘nothing.’ I liked it.  She doesn’t have to have illustrious parentage to be important in the series, and as much as I love my Space Drama Queen clan, it’s time the universe moves on from the Kardashians of the galaxy.
- Luke’s death.  I don’t agree with 99% of what went down with Luke in this trilogy, I think it was deeply out of character, but his ending?  That was spot on.  Did I want more out of his storyline? Obviously, but examined in a vacuum, his ending was beautiful to me.  Especially that last scene.  Best scene in the movie from start to end.
- Yoda manipulating the goddamn heavens to rain thunder upon the ancient tree.  Ilu Yoda
- Leia and Holdo discussing Poe.  This was an A+++ short scene. Get it, ladies.
- Snoke is gone, thank the heavens.  Worst-named villain in movie history, I couldn’t stop laughing every time someone said SUPREME LEADER snoke.
- CRYSTAL FOXES OMG
- Luke getting his kicks in that boring-ass island via EXTREME ROD FISHING, lmao the nerd
THE MEH
- So, um... Kylo and Rey?  ....ew? (did they not think Finn and Rey were super cute or)
- So, um... Finn and Rose?  ....ookaaaay? (did they not see Poe biting down on his lip when he saw Finn in his jacket or)
- I don’t really care for ships in this trilogy tbh, whatever.  Guess I’m steering clear from attachment until I know who’s related to whom (THIS IS A DANGEROUS UNIVERSE TO SHIP IN OKAY).  Plus, not really feeling particularly strong toward any couple, just... not Kylo and Rey, ew.
- Rose.  I liked her, but... they hardly gave her anything to do.  That casino storyline was such a mess, made it seem like she was there just to be there.
- Finn’s storyline. Snoozefest.  I like him, but... see above.
- lol wtf happened to Chewie...? He was just... there?
THE BAD
- SPACE-WALKING LEIA.  I’M SORRY, OKAY, I know this scene will be big with many people, and lord knows I wanted to see Space Mom use the Force beyond that Spidey Sense shit, but this was just so dumb.
- All the ‘humor.’ My god, just... no.  Not every scene needs to be steeped in Whedon-speak, please stahp.  I will admit the first scene got a chuckle out of me, but the rest...
- The ‘plot.’  This was literally an extended car chase scene in space with some Sense8 type shit thrown in. Rey hardly even did any training, ffs.
- so the force-sensitive member of the trio goes on to be trained by a wise, isolated mentor and finds herself drawn to a place steeped in the dark side and ends up seeing only herself reflected in there, meanwhile the rest of the characters are involved in a chase across the galaxy, running away from the evil empire, and at some point decide to ask for help form a well-known swindler who betrays them and in the end everything seems bleak with just a tiny glimmer of hope. HMMMMMM. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.
- quite frankly, I’m still in shock Rey finished the film with two fully biological arms
- O hei, look, it’s The Salty planet Hoth.  With pod-racing.
- Really? Rey blushing at shirtless Kylo? Really
- WHERE IS FORCE GHOST ANAKIN TO GO “BINCH I REDEEMED MYSELF IN THE END STOP THIS SHIT, ALSO I DID THIS FIRST AND I DID IT BETTER” TO HIS WANNABE GRANDSON
- The whole damn Casino storyline.  I don’t care if it’s meant to set up something for the last movie (probably not) but it was long, boring, and a clumsily written attempt at a storyline that could’ve been more nuanced and a good addition.
- why did we have to see Luke milk that alien Y
- NOT ONE DECENT LIGHTSABER FIGHT THE FUQ.
- Leia (and Han in TFA) giving up on her son instead of beating some sense into his ass with a space slipper. Y’ALL KNOW SHE WOULD.  Baaaaad characterization. Space Mom would never.
- Also, fuck whoever decided that Leia, who canonically has the exact same force potential as Luke because they’re twins, never developed her powers beyond Force Sense or whatever.  If you’re not gonna give the woman a lightsaber, at least have her Force Push fools out of her way.
- Wtf Rey you obliterated that nice alien’s cart and didn’t even apologize they work hard every day you should be ashamed
- why was it meant to be funny when porgs were slapped around wtf
- “what’s that canon?”  “Basically a small death star” kjashKLAFJSHSAJKDFSADFHSAK
- Kylo. Can he just die, plz, the expanded universe did the Evil Solo son storyline so much better.  Yet another way in which this trilogy is totes an ~*homage*~  No shade on the actor though, he did a great job.  It’s just the violent manchild character I cannot stand.
- So like... we’re never gonna learn what Snoke’s deal was...? Or how he got to Kylo...? ....Okay then.
- This movie was 2 and a half hours long.
