then you actually watch the show and every time dean sleeps with a woman he’s soft and there’s a gentleness even in his passion and he always makes sure his partner’s satisfied/comfortable and he does form genuine connections with the women he sleeps with even if he lies about his name and job (which is completely understandable and actually the sane thing to do considering most of america knows him as a serial killer and there’s not a lot of people around who’d bother talking to a guy who claims he hunts monsters for a living) (or for fun ig since there’s not a lot of ‘living’ in this profession) and he spends time getting to know them and offers the little bits of himself that he can and most of the time that dean has sex with a woman he sleeps over and they see him off in the morning with a goodbye kiss and genuine affection for him and if they ever run into him again they’re clearly fond and look back on their shared memories with satisfaction if nothing else and. this is the guy who doesn’t respect women? how? by believing they are adults who can want and enjoy a night of sex with no strings attached (something he’s always straightforward about btw)?? and more importantly it’s always consensual and they like him as a person and they’re clearly both enthusiastic about it (in fact there’s actually instances where dean isn’t completely enthusiastic but never the other way around).

also any time he’s been in a serious relationship where he was going to be a part of the other person’s life he tells them the whole truth, about hunting and monsters and his role in it and what being with him would entail. so i’d say he respects women just fine but maybe you need to seriously evaluate why you feel having casual sex with women is inherently disrespectful of them.

not to mention that the sex does mean something to him. even if he didn’t it wouldn’t be “wrong” or “misogynistic” to want to have sex with a woman without a relationship BUT. the sex does mean something to him. because he craves intimacy and human contact and affection and being liked and wanted and so often when he’s going through something he’ll open up to these women (jaime, anna) and they’re willing to listen to him without judgment and they’re gentle with him, with his grief, his trauma and the sex is a way for him to connect on a deeper level with them and it helps him and he’s spent almost his entire life isolated from society and can’t form long lasting relationships for much of his childhood and youth but he actually cares about them as human beings and he feels affection for them and it fulfills his desire for tenderness that he can’t expect from anyone else. and there’s nothing wrong with any of that.

I’m writing another post and I was thinking about one character that gets a lot of hate but is honestly one of my absolute favorites…

Leo Valdez.

My boy was ready to make the ultimate sacrifice, in fact he technically did die saving the world by defeating Gaia almost single handedly. Then he managed to find a way to bring himself back to life all so that he could save a girl that he cared about from an island that no other hero in history had ever been able to find again.

If it wasn’t for him and his hard work, there wouldn’t have been an Argo II to make it possible for the seven and company to travel across the world. A lot of things wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for Leo.

But no, people hate on him for absolutely no reason at all!

Be so fuckin for real! Were we reading the same books? Because in the version I read, Leo did most of the work to make things possible. He’s a kid who has had to deal with Hera/Juno making his life hell since he was literally an infant. He carries the burden of his mother’s death and blames himself for everything that has gone wrong in his life even if it wasn’t his fault. He copes with his pain through Humor and is usually the one to try and keep the mood light especially later into the quest of the seven.

He does tend to be very flirtatious with girls but not in a creepy way. He’s a teenager ffs! Stuff like that is going to happen! But deep down there is a kid who is suffering from deep seated abandonment issues since he was quite literally abandoned by all of his family. But no, let’s forget about that because he tries to shoot his shot with a girl he finds pretty.

Are you kidding me? Put some respect on Leo’s name! He does not deserve even a quarter of the hate that he receives 😤

Pre divorce shadowpeach didn't seem to be the type to fight a lot. In fact the shadowpeach divorce probably blew up that big due to all the unsaid frustrations they never let out.

So I'm just imagining shadowpeach never fighting in an obvious way (closest to fighting would be backhanded comments or barbed words) but that just makes things more unsettling

oh yeah 100% it didn’t help that swk was always leaving FFM out of his need to get stronger and be the best and be respected. not to mention they probably never saw their times together as the right moment to voice their concerns out loud because this was their time to wind down and they just had to wait it out, wait until everything was perfect enough to have those talks

Recently got Libby and it’s absolutely delightful to me that I can read so many books for free. The internet hype paid off this time.

i’m going to write about this later but what gets me is fics casually mentioning our royal elves having maids or whatever… like if you lived forever and also could just live in the woods and hunt and gather legally and easily would YOU have a job you didn’t like? why would there be a “lower class”? elves are utopian communists and that’s that. they clean up after themselves and pitch in for big jobs. yes i know tolkien said a lot of stuff and he’s wrong because he loved old english epics where people had to live under feudalism or whatever.
