my brothers birthday today

im still stunned at how fast it all happened. i always thought there would be some big fight or a solemn agreement that we've grown up too much to stay together. something substantial for me to latch onto and think about as i miss the way your voice sounds, but there was nothing. a final message bidding you a good morning, and that i hope your day goes well, and i hope to hear all about it soon. i said "i love you! I'll talk to you soon."

i sent that on the 8th of June, 2023. i haven't heard from you since. i suppose i knew it was bound to happen eventually, i had spotted the signs of decay long before the rotting actually began. we grew up together, you and i, but we grew apart too, i guess. i never thought that'd happen. you felt like my other half. the strange to my regular, in a sense. how i would love to hear one of your weird ideas now.

hopefully, somewhere down the line, i'll run into you somewhere. the street, a park, a shopping center. maybe this is just a break. maybe it was just the wrong place at the wrong time. maybe by the time i see you again, we'll be better. maybe when i see you again, we'll still love one another.

I will never be over Leo’s 4D chess play in “Many Unhappy Returns”. Like, just in general it is a spectacle to see this character who we’ve seen goofing around time and time again, who’s only sometimes decided to take things seriously, only to show him making a maneuver like that.

And here’s what gets me the most about his plan against Big Mama: he comes up with it on the spot. The second he sees that Big Mama has the solution they need, he’s already in game mode.

It is so satisfying watching the episode back when you realize his plan, because he literally sets the stage entirely for a decisive victory. He sees that the champion is a kraken, and comes up with both the solution to defeating it and a reasonable excuse to get that solution into the battle with them on the fly:

“Like your champ aaand those six guys. In fact, we don’t want this over too quickly. You should armor up those rookies. The whole shebang. Especially with these pointy helmets.”

And this is why giving him teleportation powers is perfect, too. He analyzes the battlefield and makes use of all the assets, moving pieces around to guarantee a win. It is honestly so impressive to witness and one of my favorite parts of his character.

i think in the hamster wheel of my mind a big part of where people go wrong with eddie and his shitty garage band as an extension is that they for some bizarre reason think he's gene simmons metal when he's jack black metal. heavy metal. he's tenacious d metal. he's school of rock. he's stoner lord of the rings metal he nearly wore blue jeans and plaid. jack black literally in real life once said eddie was the best character bc he's heavy metal like him.
