Admittedly, I do get lowkey annoyed when people exclusively refer to Arthur's problems as "mommy issues" and it's difficult to explain why without writing a mile long post
#rune factory#rune factory 4#rf4#rf4 arthur#I mean Arthur's main issue is that he's emotionally repressed and struggles to open up to others about his feelings/problems#And he's unable to move on from his past because he attributes so much of his present identity to his fruitless search for his mother#But when people say 'Oh he's got MOMMY ISSUES' it makes it sound like his only problem is that his mother didn't love him growing up#Completely ignoring that he was a victim of emotional neglect and he was so badly burnt from the experience#That in an ironic twist he took his mother's final words to heart and emotionally closed himself off from everyone#It's to protect himself from the pain of being abandoned by someone again but it ultimately deprives him of meaningful emotional connection
