Memory Loss Billy Edition

I've seen a few "Billy gets hit with a spell that causes him to forget that he's captain Marvel" fan works but I haven't seen anything for the opposite.

Cap gets hit with a spell and forgets that Billy Batson ever existed let alone that that's who he is.

If no one knows he's Billy; everything's OK for a while. But then be starts acting differently. More serious and less happy-go-lucky. He's got too many memories of past lives and none of them fit who he is currently. He starts having episodes where he questions if everything about himself is just a purely magical facade of a human. Is his personality and looks just the wizard and the gods idea of a perfect human being? Of a perfect Champion? Is anything about him actually him? The Justice League has to figure out what the spell did to Marvel and how to reverse it.

If they do know; the League has to convince Cap that he's actually a 8-12 year old boy while trying to find a way to reverse the spell. It doesn't help that Cap thinks the spell has affected the League and is also trying to find a spell that will get them to stop thinking he's 8-12 when he's clearly an adult.

If you add the god chat into the equation you could make it even more funny or angsty depending on how the writer decides to have things play out.

I'm rewatching trollhunters and just got to 3x7, and it never fails to make me emotional. Like, the opening flashback of Merlin making the amulet (especially the scene of Morgan's hand sinking into the cauldron. it's amazing, actually),

Angor Rot convincing Gunmar to let Draal live because what he said reminded him of his time obeying Strickler, Draal saying "don't make it weird" when he offered Jim a hand up just like when Jim first spared Draal after their fight,

blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most) moon was designed in a lab to appeal to me personally, so. it's about the trust issues!

The context is different, Dimi has a special background with Supreme Leader and is her step-brother, so it makes sense trying to reach for her and at least try to understand what is going on in her mind, than Reyson, a frail and weak laguz by birth, trying to understand and reach out for Ashnard.

But are we really supposed to think Dimi's reply here is pretty different because he personally knew his Ashnard? Or because he isn't a weak and frail thing by birth, like Reyson, so he isn't as angry or as passionate in his replies?

I know this scene plays a role in Dimitri's arc - he tries to reach out for her (hand) when he earlier only wanted to end her life, because he isn't driven by revenge or vengeance anymore and wants to save people, even Supreme Leader.

So this convo is less about Supreme Leader and more about him.

And yet, imo, this always felt sort of wrong, because while Dimitri cannot do a thing for the people who are already dead (killing Supreme Leader won't bring them back, he has to think about the living now and not to avenge the dead) - Dimitri is still talking to someone who gave means and opportunities (and fodder!) to Izuka to create Feral Ones thus most likely knows there is a Gritnea Tower around, started a war and killed thousands, was involved (as far as he knows?) in the brutal killing of his family and has pretty biased views on Laguz.

Of course in the following scenes and maps, he resolves to put an end to the war thus defeat her, and we know Supreme Leader refuses his mercy and prefers to die - but the way this development is frailed is not a straight up rejection of her POV or her so called "IdEaLs", but it's framed as a tragedy because Dimitri couldn't "save" her.

No, kill that, it's even worse :

We have no choice but to destroy each other… Such is the destiny we were born to.

Now this fight - aka Dimitri wanting to put an end to Ashnard's war - is the result of fate, and not the will/choices both parties made to reach that point (which is, in a way, hilarious, because he mentions just after his line her "iron will", so pick your horse Dimitri, is this war the result of fate/destiny, or is it due to Ashnard's "iron will"?).

Ultimately, the themes and arcs of both games are different, so it's no wonder that the solution each Lord(s) offer is different - Elincia wants to avenge her parents and justice for her dead countrymen, Reyson wants to have the right to exist even if he is a weak thing by birth, Ike is out of the loop / Dimitri wants to accept Supreme Leader and "save" her because vengeance and justice drove him to a wall and got his close father figure killed, Dimitri now wants to protect the living, even Supreme Leader herself (or at least he tries).

So even if Ashnard and Supreme Leader share the same dubious ideals, keep a lizard in cage/captivity, used feral ones and started wars - the reaction to them is different, because the Lords have different character arcs and development.

That being said, even with all his character development, would a post-Rodrigue death Dimitri who, idk, is warped in FE9's Tellius, after befriending Laguz, witnessing racism, seeing Gritnea and the "wildlife experiments", witnessing Daein's army ruining civilians, learning about Lillia, Rajaion, etc etc, would that Dimitri still have reached his hand out to Ashnard upon his defeat?

If we want to stay in Fodlan, a Dimitri who befriends Nabateans (who reveals themselves to be Nabateans!), learns about the Relics, learns about Supreme Leader's goal to free the world from their existence because their race isn't allowed to have power over humans, seeing Gritnea or at least still giving fucks about the humans who were painfully transformed in Demonic Beasts (and maybe solving the question about who are they made from, random Adrestian civilians or war prisoners?), reacting to Ferdie's paralogue, learning about Rhea's zumba lessons in her 5 stars resort, etc etc, would this Dimitri still have reached his hand out to a Supreme Leader whose core belief (or least one of them) is Nabateans shouldn't be allowed to live in Fodlan, and Faerghus and Leicester should never have existed and should return to her?

Of course the game makes it so that we will never learn the answer to that second situation, because Hresvelg Tea and whatnot, but if we want to stay true to his character arc, then AM!Dimitri would still have reached out for her hand.

A Dimitri who becomes the kind of ruler Elincia is after her arc in FE10... wouldn't have at all.

#typing about the game's hresvelg grey made me think about this issue #to think the writers had the nerve to have Dimitri mention 'uwu destiny fault' when he took time to talk and understand Supreme Leader's PO #and 2 seconds later mention her own will #like you can see IS casually adding more tea in there bcs uwu maybe there's a path where everyone can walk together #plz cry it's a tragedy that you have to rekt Supreme Leader :(#no wonder why no one seems to give a fuck about her lizard prejudice it's not mentioned at all bar optional convos in SS and VW #or it's locked to her route #Baldo'n'Waldi? Who gives a fuck #sure Supreme Leader deflects the convo in the parley #but there's no fire against her uwu ideals #instead we focus on the personal tragedy between the two of them who cannot accept each other's reasoning #'i think a good nabatean is a relic they cannot exist in our world' 'wtf' 'agree to disagree' 'okay'#the writers knew it would look stupid and nonsensical so instead we get this scene #Supreme Reply replies yes to Reyson's question #and then the convo ends with Supreme Leader starting the 'ok agree to disagree let's fight later' and we have the dagger scene

Avengers in the tower together with Loki and things are chill except for the brodinsons who have Absoluteky Not worked through their issues and refuse to talk civilly to each other most days then one day there’s an emergency with the tower getting attacked and they’re forced to fight in their pajamas and everything is fine no one gets seriously injured all is well and then Clint asks why Thor and Loki are wearing matching sleepwear (red/green). This solves absolutely none of the aforementioned conflicts and makes everything worse.

I also generally disagree with the idea some people seem to have that All Star Wars Should Be Like Andor Now cause like. I do like that Andor was different from the more traditional Star Wars feel cause that shows how varied this franchise can be. You can fit many types of stories with different tones into the Star Wars universe and that’s a big part of what makes it so great. So when people are like “every Star Wars thing should be like Andor” I just hear “they should take away the variety and make everything the same now” which would make the universe way less interesting. What works for one series doesn’t necessarily work for another, even if they’re part of the same franchise.

#i remember when the mando season 3 premiere aired and i saw someone who was like ''fuck nevarro give me ferrix any day''#and it's like why are you even comparing them #one is a community struggling under imperial rule and the other is thriving in a post-empire galaxy #of COURSE they're different they serve different purposes in their respective narratives #i like lothal from rebels but i don't think every other planet should have the same look and feel as lothal #where would be the fun in seeing different planets if they made them all the same #also i'll be the first to say it: andor's tone isn't everyone's cup of tea and that's perfectly fine #traditional star wars is more weird and pulpy but andor's much more grounded #and again that's fine it works for what that series was doing #but the more grounded feeling isn't for everyone #i know i personally have more fun with star wars when it's fucking weird #so no just cause andor's tone and feel worked for it i don't think it'd work for other sw stories #shut up tristan

you'll never guess what I've been playing lately

#goldic's drawings #vegito #dragon ball dokkan battle #good news everyone! I found a shading brush that I'm happy with!#i'll finish that other thing I keep mentioning eventually I swear I've only got 3 characters left to do on it #but uhhhhh y e a h I've been playing Dokkan for like a week and a half now (blame the content creators for making it look really fun)#I understand absolutely nothing other than 'it's a big number go brr type of game'#but it also gets me to use some strategy in my team building and fighting which I am very much enjoying so far #i didn't get Mr. Yosha himself or melty Zamasu (much to my personal sadness) but I did get a copy of Power-Awakening Piccolo #and enough of that PHY Zamasu with the tea set to rainbow him (and waaaay too many of a certain SR SSJ Goku that can awaken into SSG)#and a copy of that new Mai I guess (I'm not entirely sure how to use her properly in battle yet but I'll figure it out)#I've been calling that PHY Zamasu I mentioned 'Tea Time Zamasu' btw (mostly cuz of the tea set in his art)#oh yeah speaking of Tea Time Zamasu that man's been carrying my team in terms of eating hits like a champ so #definitely gonna be using him a lot; especially since *gestures to blog theme* he's one of my favorite villains in dragon ball #I haven't Dokkan Awakened the Piccolo at all yet (he's just a max level UR rn) but he's been pretty damn useful in taking hits himself #first unit I made an LR (besides the free one) was a Zamasu that turned into an LR Goku Black (F2P STR I think; he's my support unit rn)#I've also already collected all of Bardock's F2P crew and mostly maxed them out because I'm totally normal about it hehe #bardock's crew best crew I don't make the rules #goldic rambles #this is transparent because I couldn't figure out a decent background to give it
