One of my favorite joke about Septimus Heap is that while we do get a lot of lore and magic and magical people/creatures, we genuinely don't know what Ordinaries and the Extraordinary wizard do in the Wizard Tower as a job (as far as I know) and when Jenna ask, she gets an answer but something makes her forget.

it's kinda fun to theorise but also I think it's even more hilarious if Angie Sage didn't say what they do because she kinda didn't know, went  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ about it and made it into a joke without having a plot hole there.

i grew up in hawkins!!!

sorta. i was born in california and moved to hawkins when i was 9, down the road from the wheelers. my mom grew up in hawkins and she knew karen, so we became family friends. they'd invite us over for meals to welcome us and we'd invite them over for meals to thank them. nancy was younger than me and mike was just born, so it made it hard for us kids to connect. but i still liked them.

we all grew up, i made friends, nancy made friends, mike made friends. we ran in different circles. we were friendly, but it didn't feel like a huge loss when i moved away at 18. i went to new york, bounced around for a few years, then ran out of money, hit a wall, and moved back home at 22. not my finest hour.

i got a job at my dad's company and settled back into small town living (begrudgingly). i reconnected with the wheelers; mike found out i had a nintendo, i let him to come over after school and play it. he was a neighbor, a friend. almost like a little brother. it wasn't a big deal. it wasn't a big deal when he started bringing his friends around either. i became an almost surrogate big sister. i'd let them play my video games, i'd let them drink my sodas and eat my snacks, then i'd give them rides home if they needed 'em. it was kinda sweet, it made me kinda happy to be back.

until dustin showed up at my door one day, steve in tow, saying something about alternate dimensions and monsters.

we survived the demodogs. we survived the mind flayer a year later. things found some semblance of normal. i became friends with steve. and jonathan and nancy. the kids would still come over and play games. i'd still give them rides. i was sure that they could not turn my life anymore upside down than they already had. but they did. because one night i had to pick them up and give them rides home from their little d&d club, and they introduced me to their dungeon master.

Reading plans for the month:

- finish the voyage of dawn

-read the silver chair

- read the horse and his boy

These are the books I 100% want to have finished this month so I can finally get to the magicians nephew either this or next month which I have in physical format

me as soon as i step one single foot inside my dorm after being the whole day at my job pretending i have energy to socialize

okay but the stream subbed in spanish on his second channel right now that's really cool I hope anyone watching that that didn't understand fully what was going on loses their freaking mind over the dialogue

I’m so glad I am still learning about the world. I recently came across the term “otherkin” which I’ve never really had a full understanding of and decided to look it up. I’m so glad I did so I could learn of a very interesting and in-depth subculture I’ve never really felt a need to look into before.
