Demo- I'm gonna go out on a limb and say most people think he can't cook. Wrong! He can cook. Just uh, unique dishes. This man has made haggis for the other mercs, Scout whole heartedly thought Demo was trying to kill them. (Little off topic but, did you guys know deep-fried Mars bars are a Scottish thing)? But in general he can cook, and cook well, it just depends on if what he's cooking is something your willing to try.

I don't think this man can bake, but that won't stop him from trying! He tries to learn, but always gets frustrated when things don't work. Like the cupcakes have been in the oven for well over two hours and are still not cooked? This man is pissed. But what he lacks in an ability to bake, he makes up for by being amazing at decorating cakes and cupcakes somehow? Like he can't bake a cupcake to save his life, but you bet your ass he can turn it into one of the prettiest things with a bag of frosting and sprinkles.

Engie- This man is so good at cooking its not even funny. Like the he cooks for everyone one night and everyone begs him to cook at least once a month. Sure, is it the healthiest food? Not really. But it is good food! And for the mercs that's all they really care about some days.

I'm gonna be honest, he'd be a really good baker, but has never had any desire to. Never felt the need to. He'd rather just buy whatever he wants or needs. He can, however be convinced to bake, but even then he's indifferent to it. He thinks it's a fine enough hobby but would never find enthralled with it. Is always very proud of his work in either cooking or baking though!

Heavy- He can cook! And really likes to do it too. He loves making traditional Russian food. Loves being able to share his culture through something so simple. Likes making anything really. Finds cooking to be relaxing. As long as he can be left alone while doing so.

He can bake too, he just choses not to. It's very precise, one wrong measurement and it's all going to hell. He'd love to bake, but at the end of the day I think it would stress him out more than it would calm him down, or more than it would be worth it for the final product.

Medic- This is such a toss up for me. I want to say he can cook, and cook well. But the other part of me thinks that he'd be way too giddy to use cooking the team dinner to run a test or two. (What am I talking about he put fertility hormones in someone's rations, he'd take any chance to do it (lovingly)! To the other mercs). I guess I'll say he can cook, but be weary of what he's feeding you at any given time. Also I think if he's not in a testing mood he gets all happy at the idea of cooking traditional food as well.

Due to the fact that, may or may not be up to no good when cooking! The mercs are not super keen on letting him into the kitchen. But if Medic manages to convince (threaten) them into trusting him enough to bake, he's insanely good at it! Baking is a science, and he's incredibly good at getting measurements to be perfect. Plus even if he's not using baking or cooking as an excuse to run some tests on his teammates, it's still an experiment in it's own right. So he genuinely enjoys baking and cooking.

Scout- You really think his mom would let him leave the house without knowing to cook? Sure, he's probably his mom's favorite, and the youngest child, so you'd think he'd be spoiled, but nope! His mom taught him from a young age the importance of having cooking as a skill, and now he loves it. He cooks when he's homesick, it reminds him of his mom, he looks at it as a connection with one another.

Same thing with baking, but I think he likes baking a bit more than cooking due to the presence of a shit ton of sugar. You'd also think this man would be chill in the kitchen. Absolutely not. He hates having other people in the kitchen when he's busy. He finds them to be distracting. Also, he's super cautious when people ask to try what he's baking specifically. He doesn't want someone to get E. Coli, because of the raw flour in the raw cookie dough. All in all, though, when he's alone (or with Pyro if they decide to join Scout). Then he's genuinely enjoying both baking and cooking.

Sniper- Mr. Runs off instant ramen and fairy bread. Has the basic skills. He could make rice, grilled cheese, and fried eggs if need be. But for the most part, he can't cook. He has a stove in his van, and it has never been used other than to boil water. He could learn how to cook if he was really persuaded by a certain team member, but it would take a lot, and it would take a long time to learn how to cook a decent meal.

Spy- Can cook, he has before. It was a life skill just like any other. I got pretty good at it. He can still make decently elaborate dishes, but he's not a fan of it. He doesn't really like cooking. He never had anyone to share his food with. He always wanted someone to share food with, someone to cook with. Was always too scared for said person to actually stick around, said person couldn't stick around.

He's never tried to bake, and I don't think he'd enjoy it. He'd complain about how messy it is. He'd be fine with the having to be careful and precise part. Hell He'd even be good at decorating and just baking in general. But he just wouldn't like doing it.

Soldier- This man can't so much as cook as he can grill. It's super weird, he'll make the most normal american food and it's like really good? Like he'll make steaks, hamburgers, and hot dogs for a 4th of July party and it's the best shit you've ever had. Ask this man to fry an egg and all hell breaks loose. He is only allowed to man the grill from now on.

Do not ask this man to bake, please, please don't. He cooks with cartoon logic. The recipe calls for three eggs? He drops in three fully-shelled eggs. A stick of butter? The wrapper is still on. And the scariest part is whatever he's baking always comes out looking, edible? Cartoonish? Like straight up looks like someone drew it into existence. For the sake of everyone's mental health, they don't let Soldier bake anymore.

Pyro- Teach them how to flambé and they're going to have the best time of their lives. They aren't horrible at cooking but aren't a master chef either. They have tried to use their flamethrower to cook on multiple occasions, but they have been banned from being in the kitchen alone due to "inciting panic." Whatever that means. They mainly will cook with Engie, as he's the most patient when it comes to Pyro's "help." (Standing menacingly until they can be trusted to do something. They do it with love, though)!

Speaking of flambé! They love to try and convince the other mercs to let them make bananas Foster, and when they eventually wear the other mercs down and are allowed to try it, they do well! It was a one-time thing, they all got too scared to let them do it again. Now they spend a lot of time helping Scout while he bakes. Overall, they can cook and bake, but should only be allowed to under supervision.

No joke, I think dungeon meshi has seriously impacted my desire to be healthy for the better. A very long and heartfelt (but spoiler free) essay is under the cut.

I have Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. Because of my OCD, some foods are safe and some are not and I would literally rather starve than eat an unsafe food (i know because it happened once on a trip to Switzerland). This means I mostly eat chicken nuggets, buttered noodles, donuts, soda, the like. The only vegetable I can eat is cooked broccoli and the only fruit I can eat is apples (smoothies not withstanding).

I'm also physically disabled in a way that makes it hard for me to exercise or do physical activity, not to mention how my ADHD and Depression fuck with that as well. I'm 'lucky'* in that I have a genetic disposition towards being very thin and probably will stay that way until I'm in my 40s (my dad was exactly the same at my age).

So I eat mostly junk food and I sit at my computer all day every day and for a long time, I've been happy with that. When I tell people about my Eating Disorder, they usually say "oh, is there a way to fix it?" and my answer is always "why would I want to?" Its not like an allergy or a medical dietary restriction. I don't LIKE any of the foods I can't eat. I don't have any reason to want to learn how to eat them.

Besides health reasons of course. I know in my head that not eating any vegetables isn't good for me but I also know that I don't really want to eat them and, for most of my adulthood, I've lived with the mindset that I think a lot of people my age have where they hear so many people say 'just eat well and exercise!' as a solution to every problem and so they tend to hate the idea of doing that. The health industry is full of too many people who are fatphobic assholes or who think a green smoothie can cure your depression for good or who just want your money or whatever and I hate that. And so I've kind of felt above exercise and nutrition.

But then I read Dungeon Meshi.

Even in the beginning, the manga was super inspiring. The way Senshi talks about taking care of your body so you can go on adventures makes it sound like something I might want to do. So much of today's health advice is shame based and, as someone who grew up in and left a high demand control group, I work hard not to tolerate shame in my life. But Dungeon Meshi posits a new view of health and nutrition, one that is centered in love for the self, love for your friends, and love for your food. It resonated with me in a way that I really wasn't expecting it to.

Over the last few years, I've been working really hard to become a compassionate person. This year, my new goal is learning to turn that compassion inward and I've been trying to do that in several different ways. When I finished reading Dungeon Meshi I knew that one of those ways was going to have to be improving my diet and exercise.

I want to be able to go on adventures (as tame and simple as they may be). I want to live as long as possible to spend time with my loved ones. I want to be able to walk around and exist without pain for as much of that time as I can. I want to love my body and act accordingly, making sure it is well fed and cared for. Hell, I've always loved the idea of cooking but haven't had the energy to really learn, especially since I can't eat most foods, but now the idea of taking the time to cultivate a skill like that, one that I can be proud of and that can be used to care for my friends, fills me with a sense of hope and excitement.

So thank you Dungeon Meshi, and thank you Ryoko Kui. If you haven't read the manga, I highly recommend that you do.

*by lucky I mean that my diet hasn't forced me to deal with the stigma that comes with being fat. I have no idea what kinds of problems it's been causing that I just can't see. I am not saying that it would be bad if I were fat, just that not being thin would mean I faced a lot more stigma and discrimination in my life, which is bad.

i've noticed how there's been lots of family related content going on here 👀👀 so if you don't mind me keeping the train going, may i request a (separate) mayor, SWK, macaque, syntax and nezha with an s/o who is a single parent ?? and maybe s/o has a child that was shy and a bit awkward towards them at first meeting because s/o's kid didn't know what to feel knowing that their parent is dating someone, yet overtime after they hanged out more often, they slowly warm up to the boys and even started to admire, and like them where it's gotten to the point where the child was comfortable, and happy enough to be with them that they calls them 'dad' ??? 🥺

The best with kids! He finds it very easy to engage with you and your child :)

Also pretty protective of you and them. Not helicopter-level but still worries a substantial amount

He understands that the child may not like him at first, but he still tries! No matter what age they are, he finds a way to entertain them!

If the child is able and willing to be picked up, he does. Holds them in his arms, on his shoulder, piggyback rides—you name it

He also tries to take some stress off of you when he can. If you’re helping the child with some homework, he’s fine with tidying up a bit around the house

When the kid starts warming up to him, he has the time of his life as they talk to each other about their interests. He definitely passes along his favorite stories about Monkey King

Cries when the kid calls him “dad”. Like omg it’s like a waterfall ;-; he’s so happy

10/10 he’s super fun to be around and always has a treat for them

SWK

He’s very good with children, but he never pictured having one himself. Now that he’s with you he’s a little more open to connecting with them

No idea what to do at first. Probably freezes up but still tries to talk

You’ll have to nudge them both to start socializing

He begins by telling them simple stories from his life—nothing about the violence or bad parts of the journey, but probably others like how he became immortal

Allows the kid to gently play with his ears and tail. He wants them to lead, to size him up, bc he’s afraid of being too rough with them

When the child starts being more open with him he starts being more open too. He acts more like a dad during this time

Loves the little family dynamic he has with you now. He looks forward to seeing your kid, he looks forward to bonding with you both

Stims SO hard when the child refers to him as their dad. Like yes!! That’s him!!!!!

9/10 just because he would probably think in the mindset of “ok this is a baby monkey”

Macaque

He can tolerate kids. But he hasn’t had to worry about being around them a whole lot ever since leaving FFM. That being said, he is terrified of messing up

He treats them like they’re made of glass. You’ll have to encourage him a lot—he reminds himself that this isn’t just some stranger, it’s your child.

The one thing he masters very quickly is bedtime. He loves telling stories and playing with the shadows to help lull the child to sleep :)

Really good at helping you and the child with a daily routine. He’s 100% there to pick them up from school, he goes to the parent-teacher conferences with you, heck, he’s not half-bad at homework.

Once the two are closer, he offers up the idea of training them to do karate or some kind of martial arts. It’s a great bonding experience.

So patient with them. If the child ever shows signs of needing space or time to figure something out, he steps back. He makes it clear he is willing to help and then lets things play out.

Really good at pretend play. The best French waiter impression in the pretend restaurant :)

When he is referred to as “dad” he realizes he’s in for the long haul and is SO okay with it.

10/10 shows up in a shadow portal at their school to drop off their lunch

Nezha

Man’s is going into this knowing very little about modern kids. But like everything else he’s done, he’s gonna put all the effort he can into it.

Probably really formal about it? The kid is so confused and actually laughs at him a little

You have to give him tips here and there. Like, no, they don’t know complex arithmetic yet, don’t bond with them over a conversation about it?

He likes being active with them. Trips to the park, simple backyard games like tag or hide and seek—it’s honestly super nice and relaxing for him and he likes seeing them energetic and ready to chase him

He’s really intelligent about many subjects, so he’s probably the best out of all of them for homework or studying.

He picks them up from school using his fire wheels and the kid LOVES it

He reads those parenting books if he feels the need to or if he needs serious guidance, but more often than not he comes to you for advice

Acts like it’s no big deal that he gets called “dad” but on the inside he’s jumping for joy

9/10 the kid has to educate him on what My Little Pony is because he has no idea about modern media

Redson

So so so afraid of messing up. His childhood was rough in every sense of the word; with his powers having to be toned down by a whole lot and then his own father being sealed beneath a mountain with his mother left to raise him alone. He wants your kid to have a good childhood.

He’s very practical. He doesn’t imagine a whole lot and this leads to a lot of dead-end conversations with your kid.

Eventually he says “screw it” and not only reads a ton of parenting books but also decides to go along with any tangent or question the child presents him with

It’s entertaining to watch them try to figure each other out

More than anything Redson likes to try and cook meals for you all. He’s got fun-shaped pancakes down to a T.

Definitely hypes the kid up at school. Drops them off and picks them up in his coolest vehicles, puts their best grades and projects on the fridge

He likes having the kid meditate with him every once in a while, just to show them how to just be.

Like Nezha, acts very casually at being called dad. But he will cry as soon as the child is out of earshot

9/10 he “accidentally” teaches the child to refer to their classmates as peasants.

Mayor

He’s a busy man by default. But he’s learning to balance everything as he spends more time with you and eventually is introduced to your child

Before anything, he reads the books and consults anyone on his staff with kids. He talks to you as well. How should he talk to them? What do they like? Is there a certain food they enjoy?

Cool, calm, collected. Waits very patiently for the child to assess him and answers any questions they have.

He involves himself in their school stuff. Very attentive to the quality of teachers, how the child is doing in their classes. Second most useful in helping them with work(first being Nezha).

Takes the kid with him to work every once in a while to show them around. The most dad-like out of all of them. In appearance, in attitude, and of course in jokes.

After a particularly dumb pun, the child laughs and says “dad that’s so bad!” And this man FREEZES

Cries about it to you, is so happy to be accepted by your child and have you both in his life

10/10 he owns a #1 Dad mug now :)

Syntax

Listen I love a scientist spider as much as the next guy but I cannot see him liking kids. It’ll take a lot of effort on your part to get both him and your child to hang out with each other

He’s hesitant, he isn’t sure what kids even like, so he makes a peace offering of sorts. He shows them his software where he can code games and what not

It’s interesting to the kid so they end up talking with him about video games and science for a while

Slowly but surely they get along really well! Syntax really does try his best because it’s for you, and in the end he can’t honestly say he doesn’t love your child too

Very engaging when it comes to schoolwork, he finds it easy to explain things in a simpler or more entertaining way than the dumb directions do!

Before long he’s actually offering to take care of the kid while you’re busy or pick them up from school. It’s the highlight of his day when they hop in his car and show him the high score they got on a science project because he helped them!

(Takes them for ice cream after because OBVIOUSLY this is a very momentous occasion)

Shocked when they call him dad. He never thought he’d be deserving of that title, or even of that position, but he’s been doing it all along and he’s proud to call them his child as well as yours.

8/10 rough patches here and there but he’s got the effort!

I've been rendering for well over a year at this point, however I only stuck to the super basic stuff since it took me a year before that to even know how to do it at all. I've wanted to up my game and get to where you are now. I'm SO SORRY if this question was asked already (I haven't gotten too far in your posts yet), but;

How do you personally edit your renders? I understand you use photoshop, but how do you do it exactly? Your renders have that kind of digital art style, like you drew them yourself. Feel free to be as descriptive or brief as you'd like!

I'm not sure if I've answered this before but I'm happy to answer it again! Also I haven't advertised it in a while (and I really need to try to get up a new tut, maybe soon), but my alt account is a Render School where I post tutorials, with plans to post editing tutorials in the future!

But honestly as far as my editing, I really don't do much.

Actions are my secret weapon, and I have a few favorites/go-tos I'll link! A few are by simmers and a few are just action sets. I'm in a family of photographers, so I have access to a wealth of resources for my editing.

But my "secret weapon," as it were, and the set of actions that I think most helps me accomplish that digital art style is a set of actions that are sadly expensive and hard to find now.

My favorite set is by Totally Rad! and I think in recent years it's been folded in to this Pixel Sugar product on their website. I know that's a steep price point but it's possible you can find it around the corners of the Internet for less, or if you can't, you might be able to find "dupes" of the better ones, which imo are:

Grandma's Tap Shoes

As for my method, I know a lot of simmers paint over their renders, and I've done that a few times but find I'm too impatient tbh. My goal is always to have to do only minor touchups over my renders and some color/vibe adjustments before the finished product. My "raw" files are always exactly what blender spits out for me, unaltered in any way except to resize them for Tumblr.

To get that digital art style, I'd recommend rendering with alpha details if you don't already. If your computer can't handle alpha cc in the game, DM me and I can give you some pointers (sneak peek info for a future tut lmao) on how to accomplish it without bogging down your game.

When I go into photoshop I adjust the brightness and contrast, as I tend to personally prefer high contrast pieces that contain dark subject matter but you can still see the details. Then I'll paint/blur/clone/adjust anything that needs it, then I'll "stack" and adjust a handful of actions before applying edge blur and vignette and any other color adjustments (levels, curves, etc).

That's a very oversimplified rundown of what I do, but really overall my editing process is simple. The bulk of my work happens in blender itself. I find that the more time I take to perfect the lighting and shadows and angles in blender, the less frustrating the editing process and the happier I am with the end result. So, that said, be sure you're spending a lot of time in blender getting the light and shadows to be exactly where you need/want them to be before running it.

I know this is a bit long I'm sorry! If any of it is super confusing or you'd like a more in-depth look at any of it please let me know! I do plan to do editing tutorials for my side blog, but the latter half of this year has kind of run over me like a train, and for now I'm just trying to get by day by day. But I'm happy to help if you have more specific questions!

🤩 oh what a fun idea!! I would LOVE to gush about some really cool artists, thank you 😁

I'll start with @shyranno, whose art I absolutely adore. her style is so clean and expressive and colorful, and she makes amazing comics. the TBB Downtime series is exactly my kinda Clone content, filled with lots of fluff and feels. the "baby" batch ones are my favorite, but I'm also fond of this one where Tech gets teased from not being able to grow a beard 😜

another artist I really love is @zaana! she also draws a lot of really sweet and funny moments with TBB, and I'm super fond of her more sketchy style of drawing. she's got a "Crosshair defects the Empire" AU about Cross rejoining TBB sometime during season 2 that I love soooooo much. honestly, all her stuff with Crosshair (especially the ones with Omega) is top tier. although I think my top favorite is this one with Hunter and Crosshair (which @questforgalas also wrote an amazing oneshot about!); it's so simple but so sweet, and I automatically love any wholesome content between these two 🥰

then there's @lightspringrain, who makes beautiful portraits of TBB. I've been wanting to buy some of her prints (and will absolutely do so once I have the money!!) because they are seriously gorgeous. her "Crown" series is the best, it's so lovely! and she does an amazing job capturing the style of the show! to no one's surprise, my favorites are the Hunter and Omega moon crowns. the Hunter one is legit one of my favorite art piece ever; it's been my lockscreen on my phone ever since I saw it 💙

someone I recently started following is @thattoothpick! after seeing her "TBB Happy on Pabu" comics, I had to see more. the best way I can describe her style is "soft". everything is just so soft; the lines, the colors, all of it. it just makes me happy 😊 I have two favorite pieces; the first is this one about Hunter and Crosshair from the Pabu series. literally made me cry. I need this to happen SO badly 🥺 and then this one that I refer to as "the Sad Batch"... oh man. also had me crying (but also simping for obvious reasons LOL) 😭

now for a big one. I can easily say my favorite SW related artist of all time is @lornaka. her art... holy crap y'all. it's so freaking good. she makes everything from simple portraits to stunning dynamic pieces, and I'm obsessed with all of it. she even was featured during SW Celebration last year!! she's that good!! \o/ I have a few favorites of hers. which obviously includes the TBB poster she made for Celebration. still sad I couldn't get my own copy of it 💔 then there's this... lovely portrait of Hunter from behind. oh Lordy 🥵 and finally, my top favorite is actually this simple portrait of Hunter. I had it as my lockscreen for a LONG time. it's just... so good. the colors, the stars, his expression... I'm still obsessed 😍

finally, I can't talk about amazing artists without mentioning my sister @jam-n-ham. her art account is @joyjababanoid. y'all. please just scroll through her TBB art, you will not regret it. I've always adored her cartoony and expressive style, and it makes for hilarious Clone content LOL. she did a bunch of drawings for Inktober last year, solely focused around TBB. she's also done some comics that I've had a part in helping her develop (specifically the Padme pin-up art and the AZI going on a mission). but my absolute favorite is by far the Valentines collection. y'aaaaaaaall. I had the Hunter one as my phone background for over a year haha. she knows how to personally get to me, let's just say that 🥵

oh, and one last thing I wanna mention is that the one thing these folks all have in common, aside from being fantastic artists, is that I love how each of them draw my bae. seriously, y'all draw Hunter so good, and I'm smooching each of your different versions of him 🥰😘

saw u mention on twit that no one thanks fan tlers... which makes me sad. im very new to liking media that heavily relies on fan tl (ive been an es fan for like... ~6-7 months?), so i'm really grateful for the translations you have provided to the fandom!! they were some of the first i've read (bogie time was great 💘🥰) and im happy to be able to read stories i wouldn't be able to otherwise. thank you for your work 💝 (no need to post this by the way. i just wanted to say this)

i'll take this opportunity to talk a little too.... i always translate for the sake of sharing the original stories, and never with the intent of wanting gratitude for it, i'm happy to just drop chapters and poof (which is basically what i do tbh haha) but when translations take up so much time and hard work - for example, to say nothing of how much time actual translation work alone takes, uploading the 15 chapters of saga the other day took me like... five hours from start to finish - just knowing people actually appreciate all the effort makes me feel better about all the time i spend.

we fan translators don't see a cent for our work, so really my payment is learning that people enjoy it.... and i'm sure people may post about it on their own accounts but i don't really get to see any of it without having to actively go looking for it, so it means a lot when anyone goes out of their way to personally let me know!! so that's why... thank you again 🥺❤

I think a lot of the Austin hate now stems from Jacob fans, bt i find many of Jacobs "fans" to b very fleeting. i think the voice comments will always b there bt a lot of ppl got over the unjustified rumors of him cheating on Vanessa and ppl do think he/Kaia gerbers age gap is weird (ik i do 🥴) bt Austin just got famous from Elvis last yr n I dnt really think Kaia is that relevant in pop culture so some ppl will point it out bt I think their kinda overlooked as a couple. I still don't really get the voice thing tbh. Yea, his voice might be slightly different, but if you compare it to 7 years ago, his voice/accent basically sounds the same. He just has an older voice now, and maaaybe a less hard enunciation of certain words probably due to the Elvis vocal training all those years. But other than that?? People drove that voice thing into the ground imo.

Look, even Tom has an older voice now. That's what normally happens when you age. Your voice (yes, even women's voices) change a little, and usually get deeper with age.

I've already talked about what I think about them as a couple on my blog several times before... 🤐 Honestly? They as a couple have always seemed a bit OFF to me (and I'm not just talking about the age gap thing ; which is cringe in itself) and idk why. Look, I've tried to like them as a couple, and her, but I just can't get over the nepobaby-ism, and the weirdness of that family. I actually used to think they were real (and maybe they are?🤷🏾‍♀️) but this year, certain things about their relationship have seemed a bit contrived and pap-heavy??

Not only that, but they barely even look like they're close friends w/each other half the time ROTFL. 😅🤣 Their vibe is so off to me lol. I'm sorry. But the gut doesn't lie. Future Plans for Actala

Sorry for the kind of sporadic updates, I do need to be better about posting here! I post devlogs on my itch page monthly, and I've decided to crosspost the latest one here since it has some important info about Actala's future development! A copy of my latest itch devlog is under the cut!

Hello, happy June!

It's been another month (time really does fly)!

No Actala updates this time, as I ended up increasing the scope a bit on my Otome Jam project so I had to divert my attention to that (please look forward to some EXCELLENT voice acting)! Karamu will release sometime in the next couple of weeks!

But although I don't have any updates for Actala, I do have a bit of an announcement. As you might know if you played through the demo, I originally planned to illustrate the story 100% with CGs and mini-CGs. This was...unrealistic (as basically anyone with half a brain could have told you, I imagine).

This was something that became EXTREMELY apparent as I worked on Karamu. I thought I scoped very realistically (a simple scene with 2 characters and only 10k words), and I hoped to finish the game within a month. However, while I finished the script in a week, I've spent almost 2 months on the illustrations. (If I extrapolate that out for Actala, where the current script is 250,000 words...I won't finish the thing for another 4-5 years...)

Part of that is that I've been experimenting with more complex/highly rendered CGs, and taking more care with the color and compositions (you can see a sample below). For Actala, I adopted a more simple coloring style because of the high volume of illustrations, but I was never really happy with them. Rather than putting out a ton of illustrations that I'm not happy with, I'd prefer to put out a smaller number that I'm more satisfied with.

If I'm being honest, I didn't adopt the "CG only" strategy for any deep reason in particular. It was mainly a snap decision based on insecurities with my own art, as I felt like my art couldn't really stand on par with other VNs (so I decided to create value with quantity over quality). However, ultimately I think it's detrimental to the project. The amount of work required for the art just dwarfs everything else, to the point where I put off the other tasks to make a SMALL dent in the art (for instance, I really want to improve the GUI, which looks a bit clunky and not super elegant...)

So from now on, I will most likely adopt the sprite format for Actala, instead of utilizing exclusively CGs. Those sprites may or may not be animated; I'll try it out and see how I feel about them. You can still expect a lot of CGs from me, but not exclusive! Interestingly, I actually planned to do sprites in the early stages of development, and I finished almost all of them. These are over a year old at this point, so they will be completely redone, though!

I hope that this isn't disappointing to anyone (it probably isn't; I'm just stubborn as an ox when it comes to my impulse decisions...) But from a projection perspective, it's just 100% impossible to get Actala out on any reasonable timeline with the approach that I was taking. This way, I'll be able to get the game out a bit faster (with nicer illustrations, just fewer of them)! And it will give me a little more time to polish other aspects of the game, and perhaps work on a few more side projects ;)

For the rest of this month, I'll be finishing out Karamu. Then at the start of July, I'll take a bit of a game dev break before tackling the sprites! Expect to see some sketches in the next devlog~

Jamie has cat ears, cat tail and yes, he does purr when he's enjoying something. He's pretty much a cat boy, even in personality. He has a hard time trusting people, but when he does he can be very affectionate and caring! He can create different kinds of plants with his powers, he can heal people and he has lightning powers! He's basically immortal since even if you do kill him he comes back to life after some time. JJ loves books and he's a romantic! He feels like finding his soulmate is something really important to him (There are other things that are also important to him, though, like vangence over a certain someone, but no one needs to know that, shhh, let's not talk about it) He works as an assassin but usually keeps that a secret He's a nerd who loves studying about new things and finding about about stuff... but I think Poss can explain it a little better than me:

"The most main character energy of my OC roster - this is Jjheminee, also known as Jhemie, Jamie, and JJ. His go-to alias is Midnight, but sometimes he uses ‘Emerald’ or ‘Kitty’, depending on the situation. He is trans masc, but has female personas for work. He is an ex-royal due to being born under unfavorable circumstances that led to him being banished from the royal family when he was a preteen. His life had many bumps from there - an adventure full of various angst and forbidden knowledge. But now he is living in the human world, seeking revenge against the person who caused him to be born into such unfortunate circumstances. He works for the man who played a role in screwing up his life, and has many side hobbies so the revenge plan is very slow going. But that’s fine. He’s patient. That or he’s gotten super sidetracked from that goal. He loves books, knowledge, technology, dogs, kids, and kinky sex. He’s a cat boy with very long and very wavy/curly black hair, green eyes, and dark tan skin. He has plant and electricity powers. Animals, plants, and kids tend to like him since he’s got the soul of the deceased God of Life, who reigns over fertility, plants, animals, health, and other adjacent categories."

About the sketch: It was nice to draw a character I'm a little bit used to draw already after spending a few days drawing characters I've never drawn before this challenge! Something I'm really happy about is the fact that I've noticed that even when I draw someone wearing a simple outfit (like JJ's oversized hoodie and ripped jeans) I've been able to add more detail than I used to. For reference I used to put a black t-shirt on everyone and everyone looked kinda the same imo, so improvement!

This is going to be a thread that I never expected to make.

I'm going to start working on chapter 5 of this #GoChi story again in a couple of weeks, but I want to celebrate the fact that this officially reached a thousand hits. I was inspired by other FanFictions centered around this canonical ship and even Dragon Ball as a whole. It made me realize that I, myself was slowly coming to terms with the fact that Dragon Ball is a series that has impacted people for generations at this point. And that it is a franchise where not a single individual's experience is going to be the exact same. There will always be a slightly different perspective, even if there are tons of disagreements. It is also possibly one of the reasons why I ended up the writer I am now.

And I know damn well I cannot speak for every Dragon Ball fan, nor any aspect of the fandom, but I've grown to realize that Dragon Ball fans simply just don't actually know what they want. And fan projects, as amazing as they can be, are simply not real Dragon Ball. I will never try to advocate for the idea that fans can just objectively write better stories than the people officially involved, because I myself now understand just how difficult writing can be. It's not that simple. And it can be difficult to come up with ideas. There's a reason why fanfiction, unfortunately has the bad reputation that it has. It's because a lot of fanfic writers, not all, think they know better and the people who have to officially write the story, possibly with more restrictions than a fan writer.

And it's also a lot more challenging when you have to try to be consistent with your own writing. It's a lot easier said than done. You're sometimes going to make mistakes. And I know I'm slowly beginning to understand why you shouldn't always listen to fans. Honestly sometimes you shouldn't even listen to fans at all when you know damn well that people don't know exactly what they want at times. Take the Dragon Ball community for example, there was pushback for Broly in the super movie and it ended up becoming a loved film.

Super and GT may both have their naysayers but they also have their fans. Daima might be the same but it also might not. Dragon Ball Xenoverse as mixed as it has been from what I've seen, also has a strong community which I can confirm because I play the game. Which is something I cannot say the same for when it comes to Dragon Ball the Breakers, but that's another thing all together. I've read plenty of FanFictions for Dragon Ball at this point that have a variety of things. Some purely smut and not "canon compliant".

Some purely based on ships that the writer themselves wanted to see or enjoy, even if it isn't a canon ship. I've had plenty of disagreements on how the story is to be honest compared to my younger days, I'm a lot more tame now. I can disagree with people now. And believe me, Dragon Ball fans have a variety of different opinions on stuff. Some I agree with, some I don't agree with, or some I'm somewhere in between. But this really gets me to my point. Something that I myself had to come to terms with.

You will never be able to make everyone happy. You will never be able to write something that everyone likes. And you will never be able to write a story that the entire fandom wants. All you could really do is write about what you want to see in a series you love. That's it. If people like your writing, that's great. If not, it's whatever. None of your works are going to appeal to everyone. And that's a fact. It's like when I say there's always someone better than you out there, I don't mean it in a mean spirited way.

I only say it because it's true. You're always going to have some level of insecurity about your own works. You're always going to find someone who's better than you in your eyes, especially if they've been in the game longer and you were able to feel their stories. But you're probably not going to enjoy everything they write. And they might not enjoy what you wrote. And that's okay. You don't have to like everything. And who knows, people might like your work when you least expect it.

Which brings me to why I'm bringing up, my technically multiversal #GoChi story, A Light in the Darkest of Tunnels. That is because something I never expected to happen with that story, happened. In less than a year, this story has officially passed a thousand hits. This may not be a big deal to the more prominent GoChi writers, however, this is a huge significant deal for me, for being the new kid in the block, for New blood, so to speak. These numbers here were things I didn't expect. I wrote something for myself. No one else.

I was actually expecting the story to be loathed and despised. I was expecting death threats and nasty comments, but instead I got kudos, and comments expressing enjoyment and expressing actually having emotional gut punches. I didn't expect people to enjoy what I wrote. I was actually expecting the story to be loathed and despised. And in all honesty, to those who have generally enjoyed my story, to those who took the time to read it, to put the comment or just leaving a kudos, I truly from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I wasn't expecting it to get as far as it did. Not just leaving their positive feedback on AO3, but also in DMs, in VCs, videos (I know who you all are.) I'm truly overwhelmed with the reception I wish words could express how grateful I am, but the truth is they can't. So again thank you. I'm truly grateful.

I *definitely* have some for Cassandra! 😅 For better or for worse though a lot of them are either in the context of Cass/Sparrow or Cass/Nicky- so apologies in advance for any rambles I go on about either of those two ahaha I promise in either case things will eventually wrap around to being about Cass (and songs)!

Also, if you'll humor me, I don't think I'll be able to help myself but ramble a bit about the fic as well- it's just an easy way to talk about how I see Cassandra! 💜 ^_^* I'm very very flattered that you enjoyed her that much! You know at first I was maybe gonna do thing's from Sparrow's POV but then I was like- "PFF, fuck that, let's try to figure out what's going on in Cassandra head!"- it's the least she deserves, really.

And I know I'm too late for his "b-day", but I do have some Hermie songs as well! Mostly in the context of Oakworthy though ahaha... Those will be at the end! Edit: actually just the one this time around aha sorry I got lazy

Okay *well*, let's start with a simple one that's just about Cass yeah? I can't say I've listened to much of their music in general, but "That's My Girl" by Fifth Harmony is *definitely* a Cassandra song for me!

There are a few lyrics in this one that standout for me in this one- but honestly it's also just the general vibe. I see Cassandra as someone who's very independent and hardworking, and also someone very capable of continuing to move forward in spite of hardships and "roll with the punches", so to speak (and Taylor definitely gets this from her hehe for sure for sure). Really the more I think about Cassandra, she's kind of a fucking badass LOL. Splitting from Nicky didn't stop her from staying on top of career all the while maintaining probably one the (if not the) healthiest of parent-child relationships in the show with her son, and really I just love that for her.

That said, for a few standout lyrics...

Yeah, who's been working so damn hard? You got that head on overload? // You've been down before. You've been hurt before. You got up before. You'll be good to go, good to go. // Get mad independent and don't you ever forget it // Nod if you've been played by every boo just tryna show you off. ok ok next again if you'll humor me, I need to ramble about Sparrow for a bit in the context of the fic so that I can then ramble about Cassandra LOL.

So, ok, firstly I must confess that like, for me, I tend to read canon Sparrow as allo-aro (alloSparo? Maybe just Sparo... heh). Less popular of an opinion still is that I actually quite like that for him haha. And so for *me*, in the fic, he's prolly like aro and demisexual? That said, I know that ace Sparrow (Sparoace, Space- you get me it's funnier to do it this way) is very dear to many of you (which tbh I super understand), most especially the people who I most wanted to read the fic! So... I wanted to write something that was compatible with both interpretations? Not as a burden! I liked the challenge of trying to write something that was *sensual* but not inherently *sexual* (and in that regard... I think I did an *ok* job aha I'm sure there are certain parts that might be pushing it for some people but I had to be honest with myself about what I wanted to write too!)

Of course, as *you* know Happi, I'll still gladly drop aromantic Sparrow for a ship that tickles my fancy (and in fact I actually like these two in a romantic context as well even if it's not my default/preference- but that's for someone else's ask lol)... 😤But I was keen on keeping things platonic for this fic! Sure because I like that for Sparrow, but actually... It also had a lot to do with what I wanted to explore with Cass!

(Somehow this post is about Cass *and music* I SWEAR)

Right right right so- as far as canon goes I think it's fair to say that Cassandra is sexually and romantically a lot less ambiguous than Sparrow right- and so, well based on the little we have seen of her I get the impression that Cassandra has probably gotten fairly accustomed to a pretty "standard" kind of partnership style? And for a number of reasons... 😤 It seems she's struggled to find someone who can give her the level of commitment she deserves! Otherwise, based on her relationship with Willy (ew yucky Willy), I also feel like she might have a bit of a tendency to rush into things a bit.

Enter QPR with Sparrow! As I see it, this puts Cassandra especially in a very interesting situation. She's navigating forms of intimacy that are pretty foreign from what she's used to! To love someone... Without being *in love* with someone, per se. She gets the commitment she wants, but in a form that is unquestionably different from how she's always imagined it. Physically, there's room for intimacy (be it to one degree or another)... But she has to work up to/for it this time around, no more rushing into things!

But I see Cass as someone who is always up for a challenge. I think the novelty of these ideas is something that she would find exciting in its own right, and really she's someone who goes after what she wants at the end of the day. Not without her own insecurities I'm sure, which hopefully I got across! (And again, yeah, I definitely think Taylor takes from her in a number of ways haha).

SO ALL OF THAT SAID

That was waaay too much lead in for a fucking patd song, honestly Happi I'm really abusing this opportunity to talk about Cass and the fic LOL

But ok ok, so with the above points in mind, this one for me is about Cass... From (an aromantic) Sparrow's perspective, and it's hard to explain exactly what I mean for this one, but yeah it's like- there's kind of this mix of insecurity and admiration and I guess... How to put this, on Cass' end she has to let go of the things she's come to take for granted a bit, and on Sparrow's end I think some fears that this kind of relationship won't be enough for her? Let me just give you the important lyrics hahaha:

She held the world upon a string, but she didn't ever hold me. Spun the stars on her fingernails, but it never made her happy, cause she couldn't ever have me // I don't love you I'm just passing the time. You could love me if I knew how to lie. OKAY that was a looooooong tangent for that one I hope like it sort of makes sense why I associate that one with her???

Finally Nicky, I'll make this much shorter lol. I'm not sure how people feel about these two in general, but I actually *love* them together tbh, and I hope we learn a bit more about their relationship (er what it was) in canon at some point! Still, everything I said about Cass probably being the type to rush into things probably applies here too, and ultimately I imagine that these two likely had a relationship that was... passionate, and intense, and exciting, but maybe not what either of them really needed in the long run.

So funnily enough

The song is actually called "Nikki", by Forever the Sickest Kids. And, well I think you'll catch my drift with a lot of these lyrics and why it makes me think of them so much aha:

Last episode thoughts and some general bsd analysis because im normal again (that's a lie I will think about this for one million years) ^_^

So, I'm rarely really bothered by how ridiculous or nonsensical plot twists are if I'm having a good time, but in bsd especially so, because of a simple fact that, as much as it gets compared to other stories in the genre, it's not about epic fights, elaborate plots and people killing each other. It has all of those things, yes, but it's not what it's about.

It's about traumatized, hurt people continuing to fight for their lives and trying to find happiness. It's not supposed to be hopeful in a super naive way, but it's also not supposed to be hopeless, no matter how much grief and pain the characters go through (though because of that there's a limit to how much damage can be inflicted upon said characters, and perma-death is part of it). The whole point of it are the themes of navigating life through all the shitshow around you, shown through funny magic people throwing bricks at each other. So I couldn't be less bothered by plot armor or whatever, that's not what I'm here for, I don't care, it makes me happy. That's why I think all the death-baits are kind of silly (will you really claim your work is for people who struggle in life and then kill all of your depressed characters come on), but anyway. That's also why I'm sure Sigma isn't dead, it wouldn't really make sense both from this and narrative point of view, with him having so many unfinished goals.

Interestingly enough, the death thing applies to a lot of antagonists in the series too. Very few of them (if any, I honestly can't remember off the top of my head) die in the main manga. Port Mafia, Fitzgerald and the Guild, literally all of them survived fighting the Agency, up until both Fukuchi and Fyodor just now, which is pretty interesting. And while we were told what Fukuchi's plan was, Fyodor's is still pretty confusing, nevermind that we never even learned what his ability was. Would be pretty weird, with all the build-up of Sigma getting to know it, if they don't even have a chance to fight against it. So, somehow, possibly, there'll be either a Fyodor comeback, or something that requires the knowledge of his ability.

Fyodor's death was kind of anticlimactic, but even if it's a permanent one, I think it made up for it with Nikolai's reaction. Him cradling Fyodor's torn off arm to his chest, looking so small and lost, and then bringing it up to his face. The fact that Nikolai didn't get to kill him immediately overshadowed by the fact that Fyodor is dead, leaving him confused and broken and grieving, just quietly standing there. There are no tears, no breakdowns or his usual laughter and theatrics, because he doesn't know what to do now that Fyodor is gone and he is truly alone. This really was my bungou gay dogs okay. There is so much to it, all the people responsible for this scene are insane and I love them for it.

How Fukuzawa was able to understand a friend he hadn't seen for such a long time just by looking him in the eyes, and then was ready to talk and listen, despite knowing how many deaths Fukuchi had caused. The whole conversation with them reminiscing on the past and discussing the reasoning behind their actions and philosophies was beautifully done, the visuals were absolutely stunning and I really liked how calm it was, in contrast with them fighting just a few minutes prior.

Teruko being the one to kill Fukuchi is also very interesting. How she stood there crying after just stabbing a person she cared about, yet the one that Fukuchi called for and wanted to spend last moments with was Fukuzawa. How she told Atsushi not to look and how vulnerable she sounded. I've never been that interested in her character nor really liked her, but it was such an emotional moment it got to me.

And Fukuzawa. God I love him so much, loved to see him show so many emotions, I have so many thoughts about him. The red/blue parallel right when he was about to strike Fukuchi. Refusing to kill his best friend, the person who knew him better than anyone else in the world, despite knowing the stakes, thinking about their younger selves and how happy and bright Fukuchi used to be. He is such an interesting character, and I can't help but think how similar he is to Oda in many ways, especially his breakdown. Something about losing someone you love and being completely unable to hold it together just. yeah. Especially how he almost destroys One Order, having to stop himself even though it is the reason he just lost a person he cared so much about. You think the emotional bit is over, he's going to take his feelings under control and be the leader he has always been, and they hit you with that. IT WAS REALLY GOOD OKAY I'M NORMAL ABOUT IT.

The last twenty seconds of the episode were...interesting. Akutagava's outfit looked cool wonder where he got it in two hours in an airport, I guess we'll see. None of them can really catch a break at all huh.

Overall loved it, cool symbolism and themes or whatever, but none of this still answers where Yosano is though, so we're better be getting more Yosano content asap after this please and thank you.

if you're still making the visual novel thing, do you have any advice on starting one? I really want to make one, but don't know how

Sorry for the delay in my response on this! Wanted to take some time to collect my thoughts and it took longer than expected!

So yep still working on on my game, but I have some bugs that I haven't been able to fix, so no updates yet. Hopefully I'll get some free time to work on those soon! And for the advice, I'm happy to share! Click read more to see my thoughts:

Tip 1 - Paper Prototype/Design

So especially if you've never made a game before, I'd recommend sketching out your game before making anything. This could be with actual paper or just in like a google doc or slideshow. This way you can detail out how you want the game to flow, so you don't spend a billion hours trying to make something just to find out it looks bad or won't work. (TOTES didn't learn this the hard way) For a visual novel specifically, I would recommend maybe just writing out the story in a google doc, like write out the story with possible "stage notes" referencing what may happen on screen so you can more easily determine what art assets you would need! Here is an example of the sketches I made before I started working on my coffee shop demo:

Tip 2 - Start SMALL

Start SUPER small, especially if its your first game. Like come up with your idea and then CUT IT IN HALF maybe even a third or by ten! Like keep cutting away until you have a super basic idea you can test out and then after getting the hang of it, then I'd recommend doing something longer.

For example, if you wanted to do a visual novel where you bump into a love interest at a library and you see them every time you study for a month, chop it down to just one day and test out a flow to see how the idea would work.

For example in the game I'm currently working on, I'm just starting with a single customer on a single day and testing out all the features with him before I start moving to random NPCS or multiple days.

Tip 3 - Plot out your branches in a visual way

If your visual novel has branching options, make sure you have some way to check the flow of the story so you don't run into dead ends without an ending and to make sure you can check for plot holes.

For example if one branch the player decides to be mean, it wouldn't make sense for the character they are talking to to suddenly go down a branch where they say something super nice.

If the program you're using to make the visual novel in has a flow to view that's the best way to do it, but if not, then I'd recommend drafting it out in something like Miro (which is free btw, just requires an email sign up), or some other program where you can draft out flows. I mean if it's super simple branching even google images could work.

Tip 4 - The program doesn't really matter

Especially starting out, it doesn't really matter which game engine you use. The only thing that really matters is finding something you can learn quick so you can start getting your hands dirty.

If you don't have any engines in mind and would like some recommendations for free software, I feel any of the following would work:

Godot

Good for beginners, especially w/o programming experience from what I've heard

Heard it has some limitations if you want to do anything more complex

I haven't used godot yet, but I've heard nothing but great things! (I'm hoping to try it out soon, so I'll let you know once I get around to it!)

Unity

Require you to code, but it's usually pretty simple to get started as far as code goes.

The tutorials people have online are pretty awesome, and usually pretty good to follow along, and if you want to branch into more complex stuff, you'll have already learned the Unity basics.

I started learning game dev in Unity and have been using it for years so I always recommend it, but that's just what I've gotten used to.

Ren.Py

I don't know a ton about this program, but its what the Grunkle Stan Dating Sim was made in, and that game was super awesome.

And also this is made for visual novels so it should have a lot of useful tools and features.

Yarn Spinner

So this isn't an engine, but it's something you can add to Unity or Godot to help you with adding in the dialogue.

I haven't had a chance to use this, but I've been meaning to mess around with it. I've heard nothing, but fantastic things.

Tip 5 - 80/20 Rule

I always use the 80/20 rule when making games, to help prevent stress and burnout. 80% percent of the stuff I add to my games, I know how to do, while 20% is the new stuff to learn.

Now since this is your first game, you might be like Yo! I don't know 80 percent!

But to that I say HUMBUG! You know more than you'd guess! If you've ever written stories before, then bam, the story writing is part of your 80%. Just make sure to stick to a simple story that you know you'd be able to write!

Do you doodle? Bam some of your 80% is art! Stick to making art assets, only as complex as you've drawn before!

Obviously this is more a guideline, so the TLDR just make sure to focus on learning one or two main things and then keep everything else easy, so you don't burn out!

Tip 6 - Free Shit is AWESOME

Don't know art or can't make music? Use assets from online! There are tons of free assets people post stuff online that you can use.

This way you can focus on this harder stuff and get some of the easy stuff out of the way.

If using Unity, they also have an asset store. Also I think steam and humble bundle have free stuff you might be able to use too.

There tons more sites out there too, these are just the one's I've used in the past.

I will mention too, I'd recommend not paying for anything in the beginning. Because you may buy all these programs and then never use any of them again, and there is tons of awesome free stuff to use while starting out. That way you can figure out what areas of game dev you like more and buy programs as needed.

Tip 6 - Chaos is inevitable

Everything will eventually blow up in your face.

You'll spend two hours screaming at the same bug to just realize you forgot to hit save.

You'll delete files by mistake and lose hours of work.

You'll spend two weeks plotting out a story idea to realize it doesn't make any sense.

You'll spend a month working on a game idea to realize you hate the concept and it's not as fun as you thought.

You'll show your game to someone else and they won't get it because you didn't make the controls easy enough to use or understand.

You'll KEEP finding spelling errors in your dialogue after vigorously spell checking everything.

You'll get frustrated and want to swear off making games/visual novels and just abandon project after project.

BUT

THAT'S

OKAY

Art isn't easy in any form and game dev is just art with math so it's the perfect storm.

So don't be too hard on yourself when you inevitably fail.

And know too, all your failures will make you smarter and you'll get better so when things click, you'll make something you're super proud of.

I have a graveyard of games that will NEVER see the light of day. Games I fell in love with that I'll never finish.

And that's okay.

Just like with exes, no matter how bad or messy things get, we can be grateful (most of the time), because we learned something about ourselves and we can grow from it.

So TLDR, don't be too hard on yourself and enjoy the journey! Make games that make you happy and just take developing at whatever pace works for you.

I need to scream about Xiao Zhan's acting a little. I'm watching Ace troops and a scene just left me upset. That scene where Gu Yiye has gotten kicked out of the military, and they're about to move and then he freaks out when he can't find his uniforms and when he finally does his hand starts to shake so much he droppes his hat and isn't able to pick it up again. And then he starts beating himself up because his hand isn't working and he can't pick up a damn hat and just... The acting there is so good. All the pain, anger and frustration came through, hit me in the face like a brick, and left me in tears. Also, Gu Yiye and a'Xiu are absolutely precious together and the way she rushed to help him pick the hat up warmed my heart while I was sobbing. I love how she didn't pick the hat up for him and instead helped him pick it up. They are so sweet together.

Yes Xiao Zhan is phenomenal in Ace Troops. The different layers in acting and emotions were in my opinion, his best I've seen in his career till now. He embodies YiYe perfectly. That instance you mentioned when he was forced to quit, I cried so much! He was brilliant, and the actress who played A Xiu kept up with him so well. Xiao Zhan's hand tremors... every aspect of that scene is so precious, how being in the military is etched in every fibre of his being, and A Xiu's desire to support her husband by helping him get what's most important to him, in this case through a simple act of helping him pick the hat up instead of picking it herself. She understands his pain better than anyone.

Honestly this is a very well written and a healthy relationship. The couple actually had a lot to work on, A Xiu had her own insecurities with respect to her status and education, which Gu Yiye helped her through. Gu Yiye on the other had had his own scars, something he mentioned occasionally that A Xiu helped him heal emotionally and physically.

Another instance which I really would like to highlight, will be this one:

"Gu Yiye: The main responsibility for this incident should be borne by me and it must also be borne by me.

Axiu: I just ask you who wronged you? How could they do this to you? Don't they know that you are the most beautiful and brightest star in this unit"

Also I'd like to say I feel really happy seeing this Ask. In this app, not many have actually been watching any of XZ's other dramas other than Untamed. Ace Troops is a very hidden gem that should really not be missed if one is a fan of Xiao Zhan.
