I kinda feel like tbb needs to be renamed too. Their names are too on-the-nose. Echo got his name from the teasing of his bros and the rest dont seem to have that vibe? or even the self-named vibe? It feels like a weird parody of the usual naming conventions. Its just a weird vibe, esp since 'echo' and 'omega' don't fit the bill in terms of 'named after your job' kinda things. Its all so disjointed.

even if tbb wasn’t white washed and they were all visually distinct but still maori dudes, they’d still all be bad. they’re cliches. they’re the Trope Troupe.

Wrecker: wrecks things, the big loud aggressive dummy who has a heart of gold and likes kids and stuffed toys but hates heights

Crosshair: sniper, shaped like a sniper rifle, quiet cause snipers normally be like that, most likely to cause problems because of his too cool attitude

Tech: nerd, coded as autistic, WHITE, explicitly mean to the dummy character (wrecker)

Hunter: the leader, ?????, trying to be a dad rn

like there’s no creativity with their base writing. just none. even if they’d made wrecker the destroyer still, they could have changed it up, you know? Maybe make him the positive and lighthearted person but like tenderly. keep him at a normal volume unless he’s having fun. don’t make him a fucking dumbass. make him the one that tries to keep the group from falling apart. then he’d be the actual teddy bear that i think people would like.

crosshair’s turn was predictable because if it’s going to be anyone who’s going to betray the group, let it be the one that could reasonably gun for top position just because of his ability/cool-ish personality.

There’s nothing organic about them. You’re right about the naming conventions. Notice how Oddball wasn’t named “Fly” or “Soar” or “Wing” or anything. Who even knows why Jesse is named Jesse and Rex, Rex (ok maybe bc it means king but still). Tup isn’t clear. Dogma’s has a meta layer to it so at least it makes sense. But what does the Bad Batch have besides cliches?

And I’ll be honest...I’ve noticed how not a single one of them has said the word brother at all. I honestly can’t imagine them saying it about each other.
