like the reason you cannot assume malicious intent on tumblr is that the site is just fucking broken. fuck knows how many asks I’ve never answered because they got eaten, I have more than one instance of being extremely certain that tumblr followed/unfollowed someone for me without my knowledge, the way the tag/search functions work can only be concisely summed up as “they don’t,” it is realistically very unlikely anyone has it out for you except the website code itself, which hates all of us in equal measure

#like it was a WHILE before I was sure because I do have a bad memory and sometimes people change urls #but one time I started seeing posts on my dash that were vastly outside my own aesthetic #and when I checked my follower list there was some kind of blog that just posted like. idk what you'd call it #yknow that everything-millennial-pink handbags/acrylics/hoop earrings/californian instagram influencer kinda vibe #and I definitely did not follow that one #also I once got unfollowed from my own brother so that was pretty cut and dry #I haven't discounted the possibility that it happens when I use mobile because my phone screen is a tad fucked up #so like maybe I'm accidentally hitting buttons?#I don't think so because like it takes two steps but who knows
