Update on the cat situation 👌

From Røst not being able to handle seeing Lewis at all without immediately going over threshold and into full on murder mode. Complete with growling, barking and lunging.

To coexisting (mostly) peacefully in a calm and neutral way.

It's a bit crazy tbh. At the start I genuinely thought we'd never be able to achieve anything close to this, but here we are. Just the other day Lewis was walking in from the kitchen while I was tidying, and he walked right past Røst who was lingering nearby being in my way, and Røst turned to him, stuck his nose in his tail to casually sniff it, and then let Lewis trot off.

Like. This dog, man <3

#he still has his moments but it's gone from kill kill murder kill to haha funny when chase cat behind sofa #and it's only very rarely and if he's already a bit worked up #but i now no longer fear him hurting Lewis if he ever did catch him #i don't think that's his intention at all #also i only had him at heel in the video to show how good he is #he's no longer leashed or crated downstairs and they now know to leave each other alone #I don't even check to see where Lewis is before letting pup in the living room anymore #because i know that even if he ran straight into him he'd leave him #this might be our single biggest training victory to date #and on top of him doing amazingly at passing other dogs atm too i'm a very pleased owner these days
