Most of my friends know my obsession with the scientific show that has a quirky sense of humor that usually involves in making over exaggerated facial expressions throughout the show Senku getting the majority of them. It was a challenge to see how many of my favorites that I could squeeze into one edit. I fell in love with Senku as a character pretty much immediately. It was pretty instant that he became one of my comfort characters. The moment he told his best friend that he wouldn't project his voice one millimeter for his cause I laughed so hard my sides hurt. Finding this show was one of the best things that I've ever done.

If you don't know Dr Stone, it's about how one day during modern times the entire human race turned to stone. One day the main character, a boy in high school obsessed with science Senku Ishigami. He promises that one day he's going to wake up the entire human race. If there's one thing about Senku that I absolutely love it's that he's not a stereotypical anime shonen hero that is just trying to do what's best for the good of humanity. Senku borders the line between caring hero and total douche throughout most of the show. But that's something that I loved about him. He cares about his friends *just* enough to insure that yes he has human emotions but most of the time he's still looking out for himself. Even though he can act really selfishly there's always things that he does for good as well. He'll help out his friends and put his life on the line so that they can be alright it's just that usually he's not a pure and innocent anime hero. He often has ulterior motives even if the people in his life can see how genuine he is.

I see very little aro/ace representation in the media but Senku to me is legitimately ace. Even though I firmly ship him with Gen that's just because they are both cynical and sometimes complete and utter assholes who are only out for themselves even though I love them both. No matter what I just love canon Senku just avoiding relationships 100% it became something that I loved. Senku getting married and literally getting divorced five minutes later cracked me up. (Also one of my favorite little jokes was when a villager asked Senku what kind of woman he's into and his response is "The kind that can pump a lot of iron into my machines.")

Senku is to me where the comedic personality of the show comes in. He just never fails to make me laugh. Whether it be he's just being ridiculous with his comedic expressions or him just being the butt of the joke (like how he's basically a twig. His lack of strength never fails to make me laugh whenever he tries to fight back. Just stick with your science.) One of my favorite memories with the show is me cackling when he tried to go against Homura. Senku is the snarky type who will always have a joke and that's one of my favorite running jokes.

Senku's voice actor is my anime voice actor crush as most of my fanbase knows Aaron Dismuke. I'll admit that at first his voice didn't really match Senku's dry and smarmy personality but I quickly grew to love it. Senku became one of my comfort characters that never failed to make me laugh. I love the multilayers that Senku has. Even though he acts like he doesn't really care about his friends it never failed to bring a smile to my face when he sees that Senku does care.

Senku Ishigami is one of those characters that never fail to make me smile in any capacity. His personality is goofy but he clearly cares about his friends even though he acts very flippant. I love how his sense of humor counterbalances his ridiculous nature. Whenever Dr Stone is funny it's usually because of Senku's reactions to things. He goes big and over the top with his expressions which means that you have to go big with the other characters as well. Whether that be in response to him looking like a deranged mad scientist or to him just spouting a bunch of science words that nobody around him but Chrome can understand. I'm really, really excited to see more of Senku in season three out to sea! I can't wait for more of these characters but especially Senku.
