Snow crunched beneath his boots as he walked aimlessly through the woods. He had no idea where he was, or who he was, for that matter. The only thing he knew was that he had a dead phone in his pocket, and a tattoo on his inner right wrist that said ‘RETURN TO ASHER’ in large script.

Whoever Asher was, he couldn’t have told you. He imagined that he did this often, so that was probably the reason for the tattoo.

Arriving at a large, metal gate surrounded by a stone wall, Aster pursed his lips and his brows furrowed. Lacking a jacket, he was freezing, rubbing his chilly arms with both hands to try and warm them. Well... If nothing else, the place seemed creepy, and some part of him found kinship in that.

Struggling to yank the gate open, he let it creak and slam behind him as he wandered up to the door. This one was much easier to open, and he entered the much warmer lab with little knowledge of who he might find inside.

“Hello?” He called, his voice hoarse from the crying he’d done earlier.
